Episode 17: Upcoming Holiday Performances

The month of December is in full swing. While we haven’t seen much of the white stuff just yet, the Holiday season is certainly among us. Over the next week, there are several opportunities to fill your buckets with Holiday joy! Mark Ziegler, Direction of the Bands, David Knouse, Assistant Band Director, and Josh Wren, Choir Director, join Kyle to discuss upcoming performances.

Choir Concert - Winter Choir Concert - Tuesday, December 13, 2022, 7:30 PAC
Featuring Select Chorale, advanced treble, beginning men, beginning treble, intermediate and mixed choir, and Edgewood and Lakeview Middle School choirs.  

  • Featuring a wide variety of seasonal choral music
  • Free admission - will accept monetary donations and donations of new, unwrapped Toys for Tots.
  • The first opportunity in a few years to collaborate as secondary choirs - thanks to Jennifer Cooksey for this opportunity.

Band Concert - Band Christmas Concert - Thursday, December 15th, 2022 7:00 PAC
Featuring a wind ensemble, concert band, and percussion ensemble.

Dance Concert - Winter Dance Concert - Tuesday, December 20th, 2022 7 pm PAC
Featuring: WCHS Dance students, Kids Dance Warsaw - Claypool, Leesburg, and Washington.

  • Audience members will watch many styles of dance to a variety of holiday tunes, including an African version of “O Holy Night” and Stevie Wonder’s “What Christmas Means to Me”. 
  • Kids Dance, Warsaw! will feature 72 WCS students. All of the students have learned dance for free over the course of 6 weeks, and they will perform with the high school students at the end of the concert. 
  • We would like to thank the Kosciusko Endowment for Youth Services (KEYS) for granting funds toward the elementary student’s performance shirts. 
  • Donations after the concert will help further the mission to provide for WCS students’ dance education and further bring joy to the community!

Performing Arts Center Gala - Winter Fantasia - Sunday, December 18th, 2022 4 pm PAC

Featuring a band, choir, dance, orchestra, and theater showcase. $10 fundraiser for the performing arts department. 574-371-5040 box office phone number.

  • There will be two combined, collaborative performances with the entire performing arts department (performed by 150 students from 5 departments). 
  • The program includes a wide variety of musical arrangements and theatrical/dance styles that offer something for everyone this holiday season! 
  • Additional donations can be given at the end of the gala to support all of the performing arts departments.
