Grand Salami Time
Grand Salami Time is a fresh, fan-driven baseball analytics blog and media platform that brings sharp insights, unique storytelling, and a distinctly Seattle voice to the world of MLB coverage. Originally launched as Late Night in Seattle by Robby Gross and Adam Jacobson, the project began as a local sports podcast and blog focused on the Mariners and Seattle sports culture.
Now rebranded as Grand Salami Time, the platform has expanded its reach to feature league-wide baseball analysis—combining data-driven commentary with personality, humor, and a healthy dose of Pacific Northwest flair. Whether it’s spotlighting underrated stars like Randy Arozarena, breaking down Statcast trends, or playfully calling out fan takes, Grand Salami Time is where baseball gets smart and fun at the same time.

Husky corner: Women's volleyball and men's and women's soccer are in full swing.
WNBA playoffs started and the Storm finished the season with the worst record in the league. On a brighter note, Jewell Lloyd broke Diana Taurasi's single season scoring record. Breanna Stewart also broke that record but Jewell Lloyd scored more this year
Seahawks recap: Prez and Devon Witherspoon didn't play. That probably wouldn't have mattered because the Hawks got outplayed all over the field
Even Jason Meyers, last year's league leading kicker, doinked a FG off the uprights late in the first half. Chalk it up to a bad day at the office, the 0-1 Seahawks go to Ford Field to face the 1-0 upstart Lions on Sunday morning
CO-MAIN EVENT(S) | | Mariners then UW Huksies preview |
Mariners are 3rd in the AL West, hold 3rd wild card spot right now
Open up a 3-game series against Los Doyers tomorrow. Last time a Dodger hit in T-Mobile Mookie Betts had a record worst HR derby performance. Hopefully that reoccurs this weekend
Earlier this week, Matt Brash became only the 5th reliever in team history to reach the 100 strikeout mark in a year. He has done this in 63 innings over 71 appearances. Those 71 appearances rank first in MLB
JULIOOOOOOOOO is one of the best players in baseball and should garner some MVP votes. He's only the 2nd Mariner in history to reach the 30/30 club, and has a chance at 30/40 before the end of the year.
Despite recent performance, M's pitching staff still has the best ERA in MLB and given the fewest walks. They're still phenomenal. Suffice it to say that streaky hitting, not the pitching, has led to this club faltering down the stretch.

HUSKIES: | Penix for Heisman is off to a roaring start. 8 TDs, 1 INT, only 1 sack and his 859 yds are 3rd in the P5 (and 3rd in Pac 10)
| Huskies had no trouble with Tulsa or Boise State. They have a +70 point differential through 2 games and are averaging 565 yds/game. | |
| They face their first real test this Saturday in East Lansing. Sparty is going through a rough time with the controversy surrounding Mel Tucker's alleged sexual harassment. | |
| McMillan, Odunze, and Polk are all starting very strong although some chinks in the armor started to show against Tulsa. Despite the blowout, it could've been worse. Both players dropped a first down, McMillan fumbled | |
| and also dropped a TD catch. | | Last year, UW was the home underdog facing a top 25 team and this year the roles are reversed. The VPI has UW winning by 17; anything less than a two-score win will look bad to the CFP committee
| We were very excited for the returns of Bralen Trice (coming off of a 10 sack season) and Zion Tupuola Fetui (ZTF) but they've been ineffective and/or MIA this year. Stout defense starts in the trenches, we need those guys | |
| healthy and playing well. | |
