Grand Salami Time
Grand Salami Time is a fresh, fan-driven baseball analytics blog and media platform that brings sharp insights, unique storytelling, and a distinctly Seattle voice to the world of MLB coverage. Originally launched as Late Night in Seattle by Robby Gross and Adam Jacobson, the project began as a local sports podcast and blog focused on the Mariners and Seattle sports culture.
Now rebranded as Grand Salami Time, the platform has expanded its reach to feature league-wide baseball analysis—combining data-driven commentary with personality, humor, and a healthy dose of Pacific Northwest flair. Whether it’s spotlighting underrated stars like Randy Arozarena, breaking down Statcast trends, or playfully calling out fan takes, Grand Salami Time is where baseball gets smart and fun at the same time.

Current Events
Husky corner: Battle for Seattle, top NCAA goalie prospect Sam Fowler coughed up more goals to Seattle U than he had all season prior. Dawgs lost and then bounced back against #5 ranked Univ of Portland. Women's volleyball has lost 2 straight matches since I mentioned them last episode, by a total of 6-1. Wazzu skunked us. Not good. | | | | |
Mariners season ends in anti-climactic fashion. The offense faltered down the stretch and the pitching just couldn't hang on. |
Kraken season begins. Arrivals and departures. Trying to follow up on the best season in team history.
CO-MAIN EVENT(S) : Mariners then UW Huksies preview |
HUSKIES: | Penix for Heisman hit an all-time high on Saturday, OCtober 14th. Pat McAfee and the rest of the gameday knuckleheads were in town, as was #7 Oregon.
Huskies still haven't faced a real test. Cal game was more high scoring than we hoped or thought, still scored 59 on a stout Cal defense (although we had a PR TD and a pick 6 before running anoffensive play lol)
| Odunze Polk and McMillan are making a case for being one of the most statistically accomplished receiving trios in NCAA history.
| Dawg Daze in the Desert this weekend. We face Arizona in what is likely to be one of our final Pac-12 After Dark games ever.
| Prediction? Previously we predicted 70-0. Does that still hold up? UA has been stout (3-1, 1-0 in conference) only loss was OT to Miss St. | | | |
| Washington received a first-place vote in this week's AP Top 25 for the first time since 1997.
| This has trap game potential, it's Wildcats, off week, and then Oregon. We'll see
