After being coerced into choosing a husband at 18, she married her first cousin and everything quickly went downhill. Her relationship was so dangerous, her husband went to jail and she fled her home to safety, eventually deciding to leave The Order as well. Three years later, Shanell and her 2 sisters were determined to help others escape and their efforts were televised on “Escaping Polygamy”.
