Jehovah’s Witness: The Inhumane Practice of Familial Isolation

Shelise Ann Sola/ Scott Homan Season 2 Episode 104

Creative expression is part of our human nature. When belonging to a high control group, one of the first things that is sacrificed is individuality, freedom of self expression, and education about the world outside of the group. Scott was always craving creativity, especially when it came to music. After breaking through the chains of Jehovah’s Witness restrictions, he found continued solace in music. However, that came with the high cost of extreme shunning from his former friends and immediate family. Through his pain, he has created a beautiful documentary called Witness Underground, showcasing other musical artists and their journey to self discovery despite the shunning they all face.
