Sovereign Being is a band forged through resilience, creativity, and a relentless passion for music. Since their inception, the group has seen lineup changes—rotating through multiple drummers and experimenting with additional members—but at its heart, the inseparable union of Chase and Jayel has always defined the band’s spirit.

Their very first single, “Bartender,” was born in Jayel’s basement and set the tone for their raw, DIY beginnings. Over time, the band worked with several drummers, each leaving their mark on different singles, from “Dear Love” to “Miracle” and “Space Ships.” Yet, through shifting dynamics, Chase and Jayel kept creating. When tragedy struck with the loss of former guitarist Joey Tenenbaum, the heartfelt “Joey’s Song” was written and recorded, reflecting the duo’s deep emotional connection to their art.

In June 2024, Sovereign Being released their debut self-titled album “Sovereign Being,” an 11-track journey blending catchy grooves, cosmic artistry, and meaningful lyricism. With songs like “The Weird One” and “7 Sun Rays,” the album invites listeners on a seamless trip from the terrestrial to the sacred.

However, just as momentum was building—after performances like Taste of Cincinnati—the band faced another turning point. Lineup struggles led to separation, with Chase branching off to form Third & High, while Jayel carried the torch of Sovereign Being. Today, Jayel continues to write, record, and expand the band’s vision, recently releasing the music video “Pink Seeds of Love” (June 2025) and actively seeking new members to bring Sovereign Being’s live sound back to the stage.

Through ups and downs, Sovereign Being remains a testament to perseverance, artistry, and evolution. Their story is still being written, and fans are invited to stay tuned, keep listening, and be part of the journey.
