"I was drawn to DC because I wanted to work in public policy and this is a great place to do that, but also because I really did not want to own a car."

Welcome back to Micrombility DC with our 34th episode... or first episode of Season 2! It's been a while! A move to Colorado, more work in the clean transportation and broader clean energy space, and many outdoor adventures later... I found myself missing these conversations with people about how they move around day-to-day, whether that's taking the train to work or running through Rock Creek Part after work. I've always appreciated perspectives on what led to my peers' views about what sustainable transportation looks like and should look like.

So to kick off Season 2, Hannah Malus joined me to discuss what brought her to DC, how she started working in climate and moved into the clean energy space, how she started running in DC during the pandemic, how she feels like her work in clean energy and climate intersect with her love for running, carrying a monocular for birding on the run, and "Watts the Tea."

Perhaps you've seen the "hectic and electric" videos popping up on your Instagram feed that explain clean energy news like celebrity gossip. These videos are the brain child of Hannah and her cohost Zainab to help everyone understand and make sense of the plethora of energy headlines and wonky discussions around topics of affordability, security, and climate impacts of clean energy. I'm obsessed with them.

Anyways, I really loved talking about all the things with Hannah, and I hope you'll all go check out Watts the Tea!

And thank you for sticking with Micromobility DC on this journey as we broaden our horizons to cover a range of topics and places going forward!
