My thighs hurt and I forgot what I talked about.
Stop walking in front of me. Alright, anybody who's listened to pretty much any podcast that I've done this month will notice that I've been walking the dog while I do it. That's for a couple of reasons. One is it's a pain in the ass um to try and set up all the equipment, take it down, take it up, send it down. And the DD room is just too full to have it up full time. Um so I do it on the handheld. The second reason is I cannot, for the life of me, remember to bring in the car with me so that I can do it while I drive. Oh, cop coming. Come here, buddy. Stay. Um the third reason, wave to the cop.
unknownHi.
SPEAKER_00As well as justified my can justify my continued eating of garbage. I've been trying to walk as much as possible. So here we are. What that has led to is that today on the final day of August, I've walked 41. Damn, you really had to be. Maybe it wasn't your brother. Maybe it wasn't you. Um 41 miles in the month of August. Trying to hit 45, so I gotta go four miles today. Oh, that means I'm walking each great day in a mile and a half. And the little girl's a mile. And I thought I need to do a podcast. Might as well do something to help me focus on something other than how much my body hurts. So neighbor's starting a fire. It's 7.32 in the morning.
unknownI love it. I don't know why I'm whispering. I don't even think she can hear me. Can you hear me? Whispering's gay.
SPEAKER_00Oh, speaking of which, speaking of gay and whispers, has anybody else been watching the Vampire Lestat? Oh, I know I'm a bit late, but Jody got AMC. And I think I'm all I'm I I'm three episodes in. I have I've not yet started four, I believe. It's so weird! Still not half as weird as the shit I've read about the about the books. Dude, stop walking directly in front of me. It's fucking rude. I mean he fucks his mom, which is just gross.
unknownIt's gross.
SPEAKER_00And it I don't know if it's obvious to him at this point where I am in the show, but it's pretty obvious to me that she doesn't give a shit about him. She's a fucking psycho. And she was when she was alive too, because she just watched. I mean, well, she didn't watch, she just read her book where his brothers beat the shit out of him. And I don't want to be one of those people that like justifies psychopathy. But if I led his life, I don't see how you couldn't turn it, like how you wouldn't turn into Lestat. The dude was just fucked up from beginning. My biggest issue is that with him as the main character, it's a little bit difficult for me to parse his Frenchness. And all of the with bringing the the music is very loud. Because I have to have the TV turned up because he talks very fast and then it looks like a Frenchman, and then then I can understand it, but it does take effort. Hey hey, hey, hey, hey, that's Burdock. Get the fuck away from there. I already lost a kilt to that shit. Huh. Barnes' thing, his his quest this morning is to leave here dehydrated. We're like a third of the way uh of a mile from home, I mean. And I have counted at least four times that you peed. I have different routes around the neighborhood that help me make up whatever how much you know how much I'm going, because it's a lot easier for my brain to part to like to do that versus being like, well that mark is one and a half miles away, or whatever. And plus, it's a little bit more variety for the dog because we have this stretch that leads to the interstate. Hold on. Barney stop. Good boy. Alright, I got it. Let's go. We have this stretch that goes from our house to the interstate that is three-quarters of a mile one way and then back, so it's a mile and a half route. And I might do that one with Noble. I have yet to decide. But most of the time, it's more fun for me and more fun for the dog to combine different routes. So, like I have a.6, a.7, a.5, and a.4. Last night, Barnes and I walked the 0.4 and the 0.5. And then Noble and I walked the 0.4 because he was a little bit more tarred, and so was I. I always try to get it equal, but I'm not always successful. Sometimes I have to cave out like a little bitch. Dad said I should shoot for 50, but I can't walk nine miles today. I can't do it. I can't do it. I mean I probably could do it, but I got DD tonight and I need to stand for a lot of that. I'm also going to record a video for the YouTubes at some point during these walks. I've talked about it before, and I I honestly don't fully understand why I'm so opposed to the idea. Because I've done it before. And my best thing or my my best figurin' is that I've uh I've I've I really do it um I s I've shot short films and stuff where since I don't have friends or money to pay anyone that I'm the only actor. And uh we're walking directly into the sun. And that was different because it had stuff to go on and I was, you know. I I think talking directly to a camera is what upsets me. Or it's the idea of having to edit it and look back and see my face. I mean I'm not quasimoto or anything, but I don't like my face. You know what I'm saying? I don't know. Oh walk and walk and walk on. Gable walking. Of listens and downloads from a wide range of people. So I wanted to clarify, anybody who are out there who wants to write a short story for the site, you're totally allowed to do that. I'm actually gonna record a thing here in a minute to make a video on how to do that. Excuse you, don't walk in front of me. Just walk to either side and I won't hit you. Okay, I got big feet and I can't help but clip your ankles when you're walking directly in front of me. You're trying to prove your dominance because you're literally on a leash. But yeah, feel free to contribute or you know buy one because I actually I have a uh a blog post to do with updated math because I did a blog post about how you know when somebody pays $12 to for a whole year of stuff how we use your that money. And well currently, at this gym juncture, none of that's actually strictly speaking true. I thought it was, it's not right now. Pretty much what that whole $12 is for is paying writers. Um everybody who's gonna read for me, I'll have to pay them, but that'll end up coming out of my own pocket for a while. Um I read somewhere that five to six cents a word is dude for fuck's sake stop walking directly in front of me, asshole. I mean surely to god my me tripping up and hitting you is is got to hurt five to six cents a word is considered like a professional rate for a short story. Um we publish flash fiction, we publish, and then we publish short stories. Anything bigger than a short story, um we're not currently prepared to publish. But let's say that you don't want all the other benefits that you get. That's okay. Right now, I think there are tw ten ten stories, twelve. I don't know, I think it works at like a dollar and change per story right now, right? But that's gonna go up because I was re-evaluating the third edition or the third volume of Thought Bubble, and I decided to make it a a central themed Thought Bubble instead of just like a collection of all kinds of stuff. Because I think that's what my issue was. I think I went too wide. Look at me like that, you're the one choosing to walk directly in front of me. Get to the site. Um, so I've decided that volume three will be fantasy. And that means I've taken out two stories that are I think a total of like 12 or 13,000 words between the two of them. And those will be going up on that, and probably that's the only place they'll be. Um so that's a bit of an exclusive. I know for a fact they're not going in thought bubble. Unless I have two different editions years down the line, and I'm like, uh, throw them in. I don't see that happening, but you and you know, Miss Frizzle said never say never. Um five miles might have been too ambitious, buddy, because my asshole hurts. That is something that I was not prepared for when I started, because you people who are like athletes, you stoned me. Hold on, excuse me. Barnes, back to me. Buddy, walk next to me. You can walk ahead, behind, or next. You can't walk directly in front of me, or I'm going to keep tripping on you. Neither of us want that. Alright, I back. Um we get a lot of listens from countries that do not use the dollar. And I uh have no idea what 12 US dollars is in your respective currency. I don't know a lot about, I think, so I think it's probably like 14 pounds, 13 pounds fifty maybe, at the exchange rate I had, but that was a couple of that was a few years ago now. Um I have no idea for Asian countries because you guys don't use decimals on your money. Um I'm gonna say 12,000 or 1200. I genuinely don't know the answer. But the goal is for you to have awesome stories that um are not all written by me, because you know, the goal wasn't to just publish myself. So if that's uh something that you're interested in, please purchase it. At present, your $12 is purchasing about 200 words um for for the site. I I have no idea whether that will be two short 100-word pieces of flash fiction, or if that will be uh to the first 200 words of a longer story. Not a clue. Not a fucking notion. Which is fine. Um, because it really doesn't matter. I want human stories written by humans, not AI. After that, that's pretty much it. Um here is something that I cannot confirm or deny, but because logistically I have not done enough research to know how the hell it would work. But I'm thinking that future volumes of Come on, buddy, leave it. I don't care if another dog pooped there. You're not eating it. Future volumes of Thought Bubble, I'm thinking, will be collections written by multiple writers. And then like Okay, here's what I'm thinking, is for next year or maybe the year after we publish Around Halloween or early October. And probably early October, late September, and it is Thought Bubble Spooky Stories or Scary Stories edition. And it's all Halloween-themed things, or scary stories, ghosts, vampires, like whatever. All Halloween. I have a cover in mind, because the biggest reason I had it for publishing more Thought Bubble is I have five covers, and I think they look really cool as a set. Um, but on the cover it would say something along the lines of Thought Bubble, subtitle, spooky stories or scary stories, whatever. There would be a three, or maybe not, I don't know about the Roman numerals with the way we're going, but on the front it would say in front of the author space, it would say Brennan Publishing, and then the first or second page when you open the book would be contributors, and that would be everybody's names. Whether you contributed six to six words or sixty thousand. There you go. But the site accepts all genres. The only issue is they have to be in English. Because despite years of study, I don't read or particularly well speak, speak well in any language other than English. There's an argument to be made. I don't even do that in English. Um seriously, you people are athletes that are astounding me, you're just like, yeah, my body parts rub against each other until I've walked 44 miles and there are parts of me that are s like leather. Um if you're interested, submit. There's no money to submit. There is a little section on the website. Uh uh I will check, but as far as I know, that the only information it asks is information that we would have to have, right? Your name. Because we can't credit you without a name. Although I suppose you could write, you know, no one, and we could say no one wrote this. Odyssey style, bitches. Um and then I'll say email. Because how else would we contact you? No, that's not your driveway. Thank you. You're crapping out on me, buddy? Might have to take a little break. Um let's see. Your email. I believe that they're cool. Cause plus, how how are we gonna pay you? You know. I don't think anybody sends paper checks in the mail these days. And and the dog is hollering. Although I suppose I could send you a check if you wanted. But your email's there so we can you know if we if we want to publish your story, we write to you and be like, hey, whatever your name is at whomever.com, we want to publish your story. We are offering you this much money. Insert all the other stuff that goes into one of those emails. Let us know if you're amenable. If not, we're gonna throw out your story and publish someone else's. Um and then at the bottom there's a there's supposed to be a message slot where you can write, you know, oh please publish this. I wrote it for whatever reason. And then a little thing to upload a file. And then you know, there you go. And yeah, that's the submission process. I'm gonna make another separate video for the YouTubes. Oh, we still have half a mile to go after this, holy f holy fuck. Hey, y'all shut up We might have to take a break, buddy, for just a minute. Alright, well I reckon that's today's podcast, or one of the ones I'm gonna record today. Because, you know, five miles is a long damn way, so four miles. It's four miles, isn't it? I don't know. I may not make it because I'm already fucking delirious. Anyway. I love you, and I hope you have a great day. Shout out to this listener in China who I cannot pronounce the where you live. I'm not even gonna try. Cause that would just have a race of th not chase rabbits. Alright, I love you. Hope you have a good day. Bye.
