13: Sold My House to Buy an RV to Tour Full Time with My Family: Jared Mahone is a singer-songwiter. He performs a song LIVE on Empathy Jam
Today we are chatting with independent singer-songwriter Jared Mahone. Jared has been touring full time for over 17 years. His independently released EP, THATCitYSCAPE about young relationships in the Midwest carved out a career for Jared playing listening room venues and colleges campuses all over the country. He embarked on a song a week writing adventure he called The Mixtape Project which lead to a crowd-sourced and crowd-funded album called Mixtape. This full length release opened doors for a licensing deal at BMG/Chrysalis in NYC eventually leading to a performance on the short-lived daytime talk show Katie with host Katie Couric. In 2018, Jared found himself invited as a featured vocalist on the lead single of Alan Parsons’ latest album release. The song “I Can’t Get There From Here” was also featured in the movie sound track for the 2022 release of the film “5-25-77” playing on Showtime. Jared most recently returned home from a two-year, national house concert tour living full time in an RV with his family through the pandemic. Hi,
This is Chad and Tiffany and we are the hosts of Empathy Jam. Please subscribe or follow us wherever you listen to podcasts. We are here to walk with you towards a meaningful and purposeful life. We know how hopeless life can get. We believe that everyone has different strengths and through vulnerability and authenticity we can learn from each other. We are by no means pros at giving empathy to ourselves or others. We are here to walk with you. We were tired of living a life that is functional and "just getting by." We have done enough research living this way. We want something different and are willing to risk it all.
Empathy Jam Podcast: The How and the Why
We have an unspoken core value that we live life through a lens of empathy. Empathy for each other, empathy for ourselves, and empathy for those around us. We strive to see through another's eyes and experience. Empathy is weightless, it's healing, it's freedom. This is where we find common ground. We believe healing is found when we find the willingness to walk in someone else's shoes. We don't have to be good at it. The magic is in the willingness. We are willing. Lets jam.
