The Seacoast Podcast: Things You Won't Hear On Sunday
4 - Seacoast Church's Political Statement (w/ Pastor Josh Surratt)
Although political involvement has always been valued and many politicians from both "sides" of the aisle have found a church home at Seacoast, politics has never come close to being the basis for unity. Christ's love for the church and His desire to see love amongst us and for our neighbors, is what we set out to unite on. Not only will God's Kingdom be the last one standing, it's also the one our eyes get to be more focussed on and our hearts most invested in.
You'll hear the heart of Pastor Josh Surratt when it comes to political affiliation, the gospel, what he'd love for Seacoast to be known for, and who he thinks will run in 2024.
You'll also hear a collection of voices, as many folks from the Seacoast family share their personal approaches to politics in light of God's Kingdom. Included is a story about real hurt that can be caused in political discussions amongst church family and the reconciliation between these two "Seacoasters" who found a way of keeping first things first.
What would happen if as the church, we truly invested first and foremost, in unity of the Spirit?
