Utopisk Front Podcast

Ep. 22, part 2 - Syndicalism in Sweden & 'Anti-individualistic individuality' (w. Gabriel Kuhn)
•
Utopisk Front
In this episode (our first one in English) we talked to Austrian-born anarchist, author and labor organizer Gabriel Kuhn who has been living in Sweden for the past 15 years.
In the first part, he tells about his background and development with radical left politics, his authorship and his current stance on the anarchist movement. We ask about what syndicalism means in relation to the historical worker's movement, the work he does in the syndicalist union SAC in Sweden, and the pros and cons of organizing under a specific ideological banner compared to being a more 'neutral' labor organization.
In the second part of our conversation we discuss, in his own words, his most overlooked text, called 'Anti-individualistic individuality', which is part of his thesis in philosophy from the 90's . Through this we get into the main questions of how to balance collectivity and individuality as radical leftists when struggling for a socialist world, and simultaneously openly admit that we've been socialized by neoliberal and capitalist ideology which therefore challenges us in living more communally.
We hope you enjoy!
