By far the worst adaptation of Matheson's I am legend, with Mark Dacascos high kicking his way through a post-apocalyptic Los Angeles full of rubber suited bald zombies with their vertebrae hanging out.
His wife and kid died. He scavenges from the wrong places. And somehow has working electricity, internet, satellites, and running water, whilst the rest of the city pisses in the same pot they drink out of.
Enter somehow immune car whisperer Brianna, thuggish Vincent who wants the world to stay as it is, and it all turns into a mess and a half.
3/10 and 90 mins of my life I won't get back. The highlight of my 90 minutes watching this movie was sneezing four times and getting a little bit of a head rush.
And I'm back again. Is this is this a thing? I'm on holiday. Let's be fair, I've already been out all day. It's actually quarter past six at night now, so yeah. Uh Rocket, my dog, decided to rather than be friendly with an elderly female Westie, he's a Westie, decides to try to bite her face off, which uh means he was severely reprimanded and is now not hiding, but he's under the bed uh in the holiday cottage, which is actually his favourite place to be because it is cool under there and he loves being cool on the hot and sunny days. Um yeah, so continuing continuing the old work, uh the good work, the Lord's work. Uh with this. Okay, what do I'm asking you five film geniuses out there? Uh what do the following films have in common? Uh The Legend of Hell House, What Dreams May Come with Robin Williams and Cooper Gooding Jr. Uh Stir of Echoes uh with um Kevin Bacon, The Last Man on Earth with Vincent Price, uh Charlton Heston in Omega Man, I Am Legend with Will Smith, uh The Box, Nightmare at 20,000 Feet, The Twilight Zone, Real Steel with Hugh Jackman, The Devil Rides Out, Jaws 3 with Simon McCorkindale, um Somewhere in Time, The Incredible Shrinking Man, uh, and many, many more. So, what have all those got in common? The answer is one man. Richard Matheson, a prolific writer of horror, sci-fi and more. Um his wonderful vampire novel I Am Legend, which I read 30 years ago, and still love that particular ending where the central character is turned into the villain and realizes that he has actually now become the monster, has been made into multiple movies. Vincent Price in The Last Man on Earth, Choton Heston in Omega Man, probably the most famous, um, in my whilst I was growing up, before Will Smith remade it as I Am Legend. Um, the Vincent Price version, probably closer to the novel, um, with the ending that I love as the uh central character realizes that he swapped roles with the vampires, and now when the vampires are sleeping in the day, he comes and kills them in their sleep. Much like vampires uh in the other way around, uh, you know, wait for the humans to sleep at night and then they go and kill them. Omega Man, Charlton Heston, huge! Charlton Heston was a big, powerful Hollywood draw, you know, a big bankable star at the box office with Ben Hur, Planet of the Apes, Soylent Green. Lincoln Kilpatrick quite famously as the villain or a villain, one of the cultist villains in that version, the 60s and 70s version. And then it was brought right up to speed with Will Smith when he was more bankable too. The dog dying, no one's happy about that, but an overrun New York City. And you know, you remember the whole New York City bit? I remember the I remember it actually. I remember it all, because I think that's that's leading down to Grand Central Station. So that's what, Lexington? A Madison that leads down there, you know, when you get down to Vanderbilt. Um, yeah, with sort of like overgrown. Um, and the the vampires in that are sort of like this hybrid white-skinned monsters that were all sort of like um mostly CGI'd, but they had actors playing them, but then I think they were CGI'd over the top. And then there's this the 2007 I Am Omega, where Renshard, a survivor of the zombie apocalypse, is forced by representatives of a mythical community to rescue Brianna, whose blood they claim can cure the plague before the city is destroyed. It stars Mark Da uh Dakas uh Dakasos De Cascos De Cascos. You recognise him, he's basically one of the villains in John Wick 3 Power Bellum uh Cradle to the Grave, Brotherhood of the Wolf, and for all those movies. Um I love Brotherhood of the Wolf. He's actually came out multiple times in conversation in the last month. He gets 3.3 out of 10 on IMDB and is currently stewing in the tube poo pot uh in this heat. Um critics have had very little to say about it in in terms of it being any good. Uh Matt Bradshaw said the film starts off with a modest amount of promise, but when the story veers away from the film, its aping things quickly go down downhill. The San Diego Union Tribune said sarcastic uh satirically that the film is the long-awaited prequel to Animal House, in which Bluetooth secret pact with the re uh reviled rival frat is finally revealed. Um okay. That's hilarious, thank you for that. Film Critics United said that as far as flicks from the asylum go, I am Omega is their best one yet. At least of the ones I've seen. Admittedly, this includes fairs such as Snakes on a Train, Transmorphers, and Supercroc, all surely among the worst films ever made. But for a little while at least, I am Omega was more than just a good flick for Asylum standards, but just a plain old decent flick. For a little while at least. And I can kind of agree with that. And it is distributed by Asylum, and the thing that Asylum liked to do is piggyback on the mur uh the marketing of other similar movies that come out roughly at the same time. This came out a month before I Am Legend. Uh, despite it looking like it was made ten years earlier. Um also I can guarantee that the poster of Mark Dachaskos um standing on the top of a truck wearing a Bruce Willis vest surrounded by an army of zombies ain't happening in the movie at all. Um I, however, have to give it a go. I mean, I am a loving and generous reviewer, and so I'm going into this one with open legs. This is the Undead Symphony with me, Darren Smith, and this is episode 303. I am still on holiday, and today I am watching I am Omega from 2027.
SPEAKER_00Hi, I'm Kieran from Eerie Earth. I am the director of The Fallen, and you're listening to the Undead Symphony.
SPEAKER_01Alright, let's get into it, shall we? We open with cuts of empty streets in Los Angeles, obviously. This is uh guerrilla filmwork film work. They've basically just found quiet parts of the city and and filmed it whilst there's no light or traffic or anything else or or people. Uh, we then cut to a house. Uh it's lit up like the 4th of fucking July with all the lights on, which is never sensible during the zombie apocalypse. Uh, an idiot mother is thrushing about trying to pack whilst her idiot son just sits there with a fucking fidget spinner. Um they then run out to the car. She's making so much noise. She's panting and talking really loudly in a loud, high-pitched tone to the child. Um, she gets in the car, they get in the car, she didn't bring her fucking keys. What a fucking idiot. You didn't check to see if you got your fucking car keys before going in the zombie apocalypse to the car. Anyway, she can't be fucking quiet, didn't remember her fucking keys. She then gets out of the fucking car and a zombie jumps on her and kills her. These are kind of rubber-suited zombies. Uh rubber-suited zombies. So they all look like they're bald and they're like spine um the vertebrae all coming out of the back. Um, they all seem to have this element, even though that's not remotely what they should be like in any of the um other versions of Matheson's book. Anyway, so she gets killed with a big smack across the face by the infected uh rubber-suited zombie, and the kid gets out and just stands there as that zombie runs away. But then the zombie hands come from under the car and then pull him down.
SPEAKER_00Scream!
SPEAKER_01Mark DeCaskos then wakes up uh with a jolt, because the whole thing was a reflective nightmare of what happened to his son and wife. Uh the house alarm goes off, and I tell you what about the house alarm is really, really stupid because rather than just alerting him, maybe on a smart device on his wrist saying somebody's breaking in, it is a full-on fucking five bell alarm, fucking sirens and flashing lights and all that insanity, which literally just says, Well, other infected are now attacking the guy, so let's go and join in. It's literally ringing the dinner bell, it's really fucking stupid. What's also stupid? Constant music. And you know I hate constant music. Why do we hate constant music, ladies and gentlemen? Because constant music suggests that you cannot emote properly if you watch this movie. It doesn't convey the emotional content that they think it should. So if they spoke they expect you to feel sad, they play sad music, or happy, happy music, or excited, exciting music, or scary, scary music. They have to do that because the writing, acting, directing is shit. Anyway, he kills four of the zombies outside. These zombies have no hair, their spines are out, cheap rubber suit versions of Will Smith's I Am Legend Monsters. Uh he gets blood on himself and then has to he gets this bottle of something out that he then washes it off with. So obviously we're thinking that this is a bloodborne virus and that you can just get it by having the blood on you. Somehow, despite it being the zombie apocalypse, he has a working laptop, guns, a machete, electricity, running water, for some reason a lifelike mannequin, a huge map of Los Angeles, not sure what that's all about, and lots of pills. At one point his alarm goes, alar radio alarm goes off. I had this same radio alarm clock by the way when I lived in San Francisco. Um it's the classic old black brick side brick-shaped one with just the red numbers on, and when it flicks, it flicks into a radio channel. Um and it does the same thing here, and we get the whole story from the radio news, which angers him so much he just pulls the alarm clock out of the wall and smashes it on the ground, but then it keeps going because he is clearly insane taking pills and sweating a lot. He also has a lot of supplies and surprisingly working satellite images on his laptop, which makes no sense because he've got he's got a crumpled old map of LA on the wall. Are you using the laptop which somehow has power, internet signal, and can connect to satellites, or the ropey old map that's been sort of cotton together from multiple other maps and taped to the wall? Consistency much? No. He keeps getting this incoming message which he keeps ignoring because he's nuts and thinks it's fake, I think. Um again, running water, too many flashbacks, food, guns, weapons, killing, rubbersuited, infected. He then loads up his car and heads out. Um he's got his battered old car and it's got a cassette player, um, plays music with the fucking windows down in the zombie apocalypse. It just annoys me. The only thing I would say that is more stupid than driving around with the radio on and the windows down is if it was a convertible and you'd put the roof down in the convertible to drive around the zombie apocalypse filled fucking Los Angeles with the roof down. Guess what they do at the end of the movie? I'll let you guess. I'm not gonna not gonna ruin it for you just yet. Anyway, so he lives in Los Angeles, LA, the city of angels, uh, where there are, but according to Google, an estimated one million buildings. Let me just let that sink in. One million buildings. He lives in a shack, and when he goes out scavenging, he goes to other shacks looking for beer and gas, and imaginary random infected zombie a zombies around him. Why? I live in central London, okay? And if I if the zombie apocalypse happened and basically no one is around, there's just me and I can go and scavenge. I'm not going out to the R send of fucking nowhere to scavenge. I'm not driving for hours to go and find a run-down shack or a former fucking I don't know, gas station, you know, workshop that's and then oh yeah, this looks like the place where I could go and get loads of supplies. No. Supermarkets. Uptown, go to where the rich people live. If you're Los Angeles, go to fucking Beverly Hills, you know, go to the shopping malls, go to the supermarket's huge. You could live. I'll tell you what, if I went to if it was a zombie apocalypse and I went to a supermarket, okay, there's a big Sainsbury's quite close to where I live. If I just shuttered the Sainsbury's, shuttered the front door, side door, back door, barricaded it, welded those doors shut so no one's getting in. I will have enough food and liquid in that supermarket to last me the rest of my life. Okay, and toilet paper, which will be needed given the food that I'll be eating. I do not need to be going around in a battered old car with the windows down and the radio playing, literally signalling where I am to the entire fucking zombie universe, and then going to ramshackle run-down shacks to find supplies. This is why I tell you what, the one thing I really wanted for Dradel of the Dead was for it to be at least somewhat realistic. It looks realistic. Um, it's a New York apartment. Obviously, the streets look realistic. New York streets. Uh the characters look somewhat realistic, although they are clearly puppets, but they are somewhat realistic. Um the events are somewhat realistic. I didn't want some absolute nonsense in it. This is a guy living in his apartment, these are the food that he's got. This is how long they're gonna survive. Oh, the powers run out. What happens when a power runs out? We haven't got any water. Oh, and the fish is now dead because it relied on the air pump in his tank. Realistic stuff. This is just fucking nonsense. At one point he stops his car and chases a rabbit. I don't know, maybe he wanted um a pet or food. Either or but whilst chasing the rabbit, he gets attacked by a zombie and then quickly forgets about the rabbit and then kills the zombie. He keeps setting these very elaborate looking C4 charges that have got a even more elaborate looking like clock on them. Uh I don't know where he learnt how to do this, but um he's building these giant C4 explosives that are the size of, I don't know, a small backpack that he's then attaching to these different places around the city. And he sets the first timer to 22 hours. Okay, so what his plan is, and I'll I will jump ahead here, is he is going to use the gas main that runs underneath the entire city of Los Angeles to blow the entire city of Los Angeles up in 22 hours time, using rather than a remote detonation, a timed detonation. Thank you, Mr. Bond. So he he's he basically he plants more charges, he goes into the tunnels. I'm only 20 minutes in at this point, I was hating it, uh, and then he drives home. And again, he's got the whole of Los Angeles, a city of one million buildings to scavenge from, and he's got this piece of shit car and a piece of shit house, and he stops off to find in a piece of shit run down shhed, effectively, some military rations or the MRAs are they called. It literally misses everything out of the other movies, I am legend, last man on earth, I am uh Omega Man, and the book I am legend. He's literally removed all the good out of it. All they've all this could be this movie could have been called anything else. It's the only thing that that relates it to um to uh I am legend is it's it's called I am Omega. That's it. The rest of it is not remotely related to this to the story of I am legend. It's just I am Omega, which is related to Omega Man, which is who which was which was actually based on I am legend. We get another incoming video, which he ignores, another break-in, loud alarms, zombies that he kills. I mean again the the the alarm just annoys because it's so fucking loud. I mean you're literally just gonna attract more of the fucking infected. And then we get the incoming message again, and again he's gonna ignore it, but this time he decides not to ignore it, and he answers it, and it's a woman called Brianna. But rather than this woman called Brianna chatting to her, he gets up, goes nuts, runs through the building after backing off a seen another living person for a while, um, and then turning all the power off. Power off before taking more pills. Now, taking all the power off doesn't actually make any sense to me because it's a laptop that wasn't plugged in. However, I for detail, yes I do, thank you. He then responds to the incoming call again, and it's Brianna who was part of a caravan uh who are on their way to Antioch where there are thousands of immune survivors apparently, and she wants to him to come and rescue her with his friends, although he doesn't have any, uh, from somewhere downtown. Um he explains there's a huge fucking hive downtown, that's not the best place to be, and it is just me. So he goes and plants some more bombs, so then his master plan of destroying the city of Los Angeles is now even more in place, even though he now has to go and rescue a woman who is a specialist on the uh virus who apparently knows about the cure. So he's now set some more timers to go off and blow up the city, but he has to go and rescue her from the city. He kills more zombies on the way again. Whenever he gets the blood on himself, he has to wash it off because he thinks that it has the pathogen within it. At one point he hallucinates his wife running at him and crying about their son being taken, uh, which again doesn't make a lot of sense. Then he goes back to his house, and there are a couple of soldiers turn up. This is Vincent, uh, who was a former Marine and uh Mikey. And they're like, hey, you know, we know full well you've been talking to Vince Viana, we're from Antioch, and we're here to help you go and get her. But the thing about it is I don't trust these guys as far as I could comfortably spit a rat. Uh the lead idiot who's Vincent with a fucking handlebar moustache, not handlebar mustache, a zapata moustache, and and sort of like a mohawk, is is like, can you just let us in and we'll talk? And he's like, You don't need to come in to talk. It's literally there's just a chain link fent link fence between this. I can hear you through the chain link fence. Um he then lets them in, which is Stupid. Um, and then they get uh uh infected attacked by infected, but not until Mikey to to gastly get get um Renchard to help them fires a rocket launcher into Renchard's house to blow it up, which again makes no sense. It's just a terrible uh special effect as well. They they then get attacked by infected from all different angles, and he ends up getting blood on him again, which he then washes off really quickly. Um I think about the the problem it with this movie for me was that it was actually a tolerable piece, tolerable piece of post-apocalyptic survival shit. But now it's just shit. So whilst Bianca is lounging in an office downtown that has the least convincing barricade I have ever seen, not even to close the front door. Basically, the whole doorway is being replaced with some loose planks at diagonals, so you can just poke your head out or poke your head in. Uh, and it's just like, well, that's just not the best barricade I've ever seen. Um Vincent and Mikey and Renchard head through the tunnels. At one point, the three of them are walking along with Renchard leading the way because he knows the tunnels, and then his torch goes and the whole thing goes black. They then get attacked by mutants uh who whilst whilst whilst Venchard's changing his torch batteries, Vincent's killing these uh Vincent is killing these infected, and when he does, he's like the light comes on, he goes, Oh, thank god, we all did really well. No one got killed, and then he looks at his best friend Mikey, who's had his throat slit by the infected. Um it's ridiculous. And then there's this point where he goes, Renchard, you go ahead and find Brianna. I'll fend them off. Gonna fend them off. Fend off all of those fucking infected who are coming through the tunnels. We don't even see any of them. That would have been good if we'd seen the infected coming down the tunnels at them, and there being too many of them. You know, sort of like in aliens where they're sort of like all coming at you, and it's like, ah, went away. When Child then comes out of the tunnels, and he is in the city proper. He does lots of running along back alleys, seeing an infected, shooting it, then running along back alleys, seeing and shooting, seeing an infected and shooting it, one at a time. Um, he then manages to just walk, literally walk through her barricade into her building. Um, and then I don't think she told him exactly what building it was either. She was literally I'm downtown, which is a huge area. And he says, Oh yeah, I know exactly what building and what entrance to go into. Anyway, he then gets in the house into the building, and this infected keeps poking his head around the uh barricade. He shoots in the barracks, and basically the infector keeps ducking away. So it's like wasting bullets playing peekaboo with this infected before she shoots it. And then he's like starving and ravenous and eating this can of tuna like he's you know a crack addict being given a pipe, and she's like, Oh, it looks like you haven't eaten for a while. It's the zombie apocalypse, bitch. And he has, he spent the entire movie eating, so I don't know why he's suddenly going, Oh my god, I've got a can of tuna. And she goes, You can have another can if you want. Also, can the tuna were the one the one thing that's gonna go off is a can of tuna. It is the one thing that's just gonna be rancid and nasty. And it was actually it was in a movie I saw recently where it was like, here, here's a can of food, and they open it and it's like, ee. Um, it was um that was it Spanish? Or his was it South American movie I saw the other week, um where uh yeah, the guy's like gives a can of tuna to the girl and it's like I can't eat that. It's fucking rotten, yeah, because it would be. Anyway, um he but says, Look, we need to leave, and we need to leave now. And she goes, Aren't all your friends coming too? And he goes, That's just me. And he goes, Look, we need we need to go now, but the streets are infected. And he goes, Okay, the streets are infected, but you know, and and it they there's a hive downtown, and you know, looks like there's even more infected outside, and okay, fine. Well, we'll have to go out the back way. He goes, Well, we better hurry up because I've planted charges throughout the gas main that's going to destroy the entire city in less than 24 hours. She's like, Oh, okay, then we should go out the back door. They go out the back door, and despite the entire part of this part of the you know, Los Angeles supposedly being a hive of uh zombie activity, there aren't any in the back streets. Uh a few then keep running past, and then she nearly knocks this bottle over, right? There's a bot they sort of lean back on something, she knocks it, and a bottle falls off, and he catches it. So obviously, if the bot had landed on the ground, it would have broken and smashed and maybe attracted the zombies. But then he does the loudest of dramatic shh, really, really loud. One of the loudest shushes I've ever heard, which would have probably been as loud, loud, if not louder, than the fucking uh the fucking bottle breaking. And then in arguably one of the most ridiculous scenes in any movie that I've ever seen, and let me be fair frank with you, I've probably seen in my lifetime 5,000 movies, maybe 5,000 movies throughout my lifetime. This is one of the most ridiculous scenes for my lifetime. Uh there's a zombie and a dumpster, and she pulls her gun out and she points it at the zombie, and he's like, No, no, you'll get infected blood on you. Don't shoot them up close. Grab in my in my backpack, and she grabs in his backpack and she pulls out a hand grenade. I shit you not a hand grenade, which he then tells her to throw it in the dumpster, he holds the lid down, and then they run off before the grenade goes off. Um yes. Excuse me, but yes, that level of fucking stupid. Um, so they're now uh in a parking garage, the lights, the nights uh the night is here upon us, the night is upon us, and they are in uh the they are um in a parking garage looking for a car, and he's you know there's a load of infected there. There's there's about half a dozen infected there, including infected police officers who are wearing uniforms still. And I was like, hold on, all the other infected have been shirtless vertebrae showing off uh bald infected rubber suit wearers, and now we got guys wearing fucking police uniforms. He keeps shouting at her because she just doesn't do what he says, he's like, We need to be quiet, and then she walks off and he says, We need to find a car, and she goes, I'll find a car, and you don't know. We need to find a stick shift car. Now most American cars are stick shift, I would have thought, but apparently not, because he says a stick shift car we can kind of bump start or push start, um, whereas it wouldn't work like that for for an automatic. Um anyway, she just goes off and does her own fucking thing, and the pair of them are absolute fuck quits because he keeps shouting her name and he she he keeps ignoring what she keeps ignoring what he says and he keeps shouting her name, which is fucking dumb. Both of those things fucking dumb anyway. An infected then grabs her and um she gets scratched on the face, he then kills the infected but panics that she's now been scratched, and she's like, Nah, it's alright, I'll just put a little bit of this, dab a little of this stuff on my face, because apparently she's immune. And her dad wanted to make a vaccine from her blood. But he still wants the stick shift, but she says, No, no, that's our car there, and this becomes a thing at the end of the movie. She's like, That's our car there, points to this horrible green car, which as if by magic starts, which I felt would be very suspicious, but it isn't actually suspicious at all. It should have been. How does she know this car was gonna work? Why did she pick this car? Anyway, before they can drive off, a ton of fucking infected arrives. He then decides to take them on with nunchucks, that well-known zombie fighting weapon, beats lots of infected up, but more of them arrive. He does the thing where he's holding it, holding the nunchucks apart, and then rather than fighting with them, he runs off. She's then driving around this fucking parking garage, whilst he's running around the parking garage being chased, um, and he jumps in the car and they drive out of the city, but they've got the roof down. They've what did I say earlier about you've got the windows down in the zombie apocalypse, you're an absolute fuck queer. They have taken they have got the the convertible car's roof down. The convertible car roof down. So they're driving around with four hours before the bomb goes off, and the top down on their fucking bright green convertible. An infector then jumps on the front of the car, they then run it over, another one jumps on the back of the car. How can you jump into the back of the car? When you got the fucking roof down, you idiots. They then both turn round to f kill it, shoot it, or whatever, but when they look forward, they crash the car because they're fuckwits. She's been injured and can't walk, so he ends up who's he's also injured, picks her up and start carrying her. As they're carrying her, they they're now more and more of infected sort of start coming out of the alleyways and they're getting followed. And um it's at this point that Vincent turns up with his dead body in the front of the car, Mikey, and then Vincent and Renshard then kill all of the infected that are around them before just before fucking Vincent shoots Renshard in the leg and says, actually, we're not from Antioch at all. We're the guys who don't want a cure, because we actually don't want the world to go back to the way it was, where the weak and the feeble are looked after, where welfare is basically the way that most people survive. We believe that only the strong should survive. Uh, and then he basically bundles Briano in the back of the truck, uh van and then drives off. Renchard at this point started looking particularly grey and particularly sick. His car then dies on the side of the road, and you think, okay, well, one he doesn't know where the others are from. If they actually said they were from Antioch, and then they said, Ratchetly, we were lying, we're not from Antioch. Well, if they were from Antioch, he had no to go to Antioch. But now they said they're not from there, he doesn't know where to go. But as if by magic his car breaks down by the side of the road, and then driving past at high speed is Vincent in his van. So now he can follow them. It made no sense because they left much, much, much earlier. I mean, Vincent drove off in the van, Renchard, who was laying on the ground, still shouted Brianna, and then he spends ages trying to find a car to get in, killing a few infected along the way. But now he's ahead of the van. Vincent is now in what looks like a junkyard. He's parked up, he's got Brianna on the floor, dead, he's talking to the dead Mikey like dead Mikey's still alive. He then at one point rips open Brianna's blouse and then puts the dead Mikey on her, like he's basically like Mikey's gonna rape her or something. Um, but and then Ranchard arrives and crashes his car into Vincent's truck. Jesus. Renchard and Vincent then have a big old fight. Renchard's got uh a long metal pole, uh, Vincent's got chains, they're fighting and fighting and hitting each other and missing each other. And at one point, Brianna stabs Vincent in the back with his dagger, and then he turns around and is gonna kill Brianna, and then Rinchard then kills him with a long pole. After Vincent shouts, Enjoy making the world a pisshole again. And she does. It's at this point Bianna uses her catchphrase once more. Oh, that'll be our car. In this time, it looks like some sort of fucking transam or something, a very impractical, high um high capacity, you know, sports car that's gonna require, you know, a fuckload of fuel to drive around town. What you really want is something that is of a uh particularly low uh a low low fuel usage. They've just gone for the opposite. Uh the drop they drive out of Los Angeles with him driving despite nearly being dead and looking like a fucking grey-skinned infected. Women can't aren't allowed to drive in the zombie apocalypse, apparently, as the city explodes with awful CGI behind them. The two of them then are on the side of the road, just resting on a crash barrier. He's she's patching him up, he's patching her up, and then they make out before driving off. And then after they've driven off, we spent far too long focusing on this piece of ground next to the side of the road, and a zombie bursts out for it from it for a cheap asylum finish. I had scored it 3.5, but reading it back, I got so angry I've scored it back, scored put it back down to three. This movie is a three out of ten. It couldn't have been further away from Richard Matheson's original text without it starring Melissa McCarthy as a fat former coffee shop barista who's fighting zombies with her flatulence and kills them after killing them. You you know, says some sort of barista-related pun. Um, it was awful by far, far, far, far the worst of the I am legend um movie versions. By far, it's so far away from it. So far away from the original, which you don't remember, the original is sort of like anyway. Let's let's not go there. This is this is not I am legend. This is not uh Omega Man, this is not the last man on earth. What this is is a piece of shit. Um, do not watch this movie, it's a three out of ten at best, and I do feel for these martial artists who you know they are somewhat recognizable, and then we're like, Oh, our cast you in the movie is the lead, and then they go, Cool, I'll sign up if I'm the lead of a movie, and then you watch it, and it's things like this. I mean, I fought I feel for Mark de Cascos because even though he's the star of this movie, he wasn't very good. He did try. I mean, he he he you know went straight in, you know, he went full on. He didn't didn't pull his punches, so to speak. The movie was just bad. Yeah, so that was it. That was the Undead Symphony with me, Darren Smith, episode 383, in which I saw the worst version of I Am Legend by Richard Matheson. Um, this was I Am Omega.
