Hey everyone and welcome back to my podcast. If you're new here, my name is Barb and you're listening to Spirits, Witches, and Demons. Now, today I have a treat for you. Now, let me get my script because you guys know if you've been here many, many times, if I'm not on script, we are in trouble. So today's episode is available audio wherever you listen to podcasts. So, why am I recording today? Today we're diving into the world of ghost hunting, paranormal investigations, and all the strange, spooky, unforgettable moments that come with it. Today I am joined by a hot haunt mess, because I messed that up a few times saying it in my head. Um, and I'm so excited to have you here. But before we get started, uh I've introduced myself to my audience. Can you all introduce yourselves? Sure. Hi, I'm Vicky. Hi, I'm Caitlin, and I'm Tammy. Okay, so Vicki, Caitlin, Tammy. Okay, I might forget that. That's a good one. I'll be honest. I'll be honest. Okay, to start us off, what first sparked your interest? Any of you or all of you? This is a question for the masses, I guess. Uh, first sparked your interest in ghost hunting?

Who wants to go first? Me? Okay. Um, I feel like I was kind of raised in it. My mother was um a sort of medium. She'd get visions and have dreams. And, you know, so we kind of grew up around those conversations, and we were always very open about, you know, spiritual you know, ghosts and all of that. Um, mom always felt that we were haunted pretty much our whole lives. We we were in the military. My dad was in the military, and we moved a lot around the country, and every time we moved, things would start to happen again in our house. Didn't matter where we lived, and mom would say, Oh, that's just our little poltergeist, and they would follow us and play tricks on us, never anything mean. Um, mom was sure that they saved her life a couple of times. So I have a lot of a lot of stories from just growing up, things we couldn't explain.

Um so what you're saying is a part two is required because I need to hear stories. Okay, gotcha, gotcha.

Yeah. Same. Like I was pretty much raised in it. I grew up down in the bearish one, New Waterford, and there's a lot of folklore around that. And when I was growing up, stuff used to happen in my mother's house. Like there was a night that she felt something shaking her awake, and she woke up and like the stove was turned on, and like my toys would move around the house at night and stuff. And I watched a lot of ghost adventures and stuff like that when I was younger too. So I was always into it. Awesome. I like spooky stuff. Yeah.

I call myself the backpack because these two started it, and I got very intrigued, and I just wanted to uh go on like some hunts, so I just, you know, follow around, and now I think I'm into it as much as they.

Okay, well, well, I I definitely have a feeling for the next question's response, but I'm gonna ask it anyway. So before we get into like investigations themselves, I'm gonna ask personally, do you believe in ghosts?

110. Oh, definitely. Okay, so well, did at any time your believo meter change from when you first started into ghost hunting to how you feel about it today? Was there ever a switch? Did now you grew up with it, you grew up with it, you're backpacking in. So um did you ever find when you started with it, oh, this is fun and this is cool, but what was your what was your belief at that moment?

Um so at first I was like just the heebie jeebies, and then I backpacked with them to um an event at the Highland Arts Theater. Yeah. And I was at that event too. I was standing up at the balcony, and I just got this eerie, like, you know, I don't know, feeling. And I looked over and my hair was standing out. And there was no breeze, there was no nothing, and then it just kept moving, and I was like a teenage little boy. My voice cracked, and I was like, There's something touching my and uh that's when I was like, no, I'm full in disguise.

No, I have to ask, what uh time did you guys go? And what day? Do you remember?

I think we were the very last one. I think it was the nine o'clock on the 11th? I think so.

Okay, so I want to say something. Were you there at the same time? Not at the same time. I went to the 5 30. Yeah. Okay. And like I said, part of my thing is I work with the dark stuff. Well, I found the demon in the building, and I confronted him. Oh, at the 5 30 episode, like that segment. So Rihanna was our guide for our group, and I was there with my hairstylist, who's also very spooky like me. And um we had finished the Estes method in the manager's office. Yeah, and Rihanna pulled me aside and she's like, Can you take us to the demon? Me and my hairstylist, uh Brina, uh, we became like the stars of the show, right? Like we were leading it, which we didn't plan on that. We bought the tickets just like everybody else. We just wanted to go for the fun of it, right? Well, these things happen, right? So we went um to the dressing room because that's where he resides, and she couldn't go in, right? So we turned on some equipment and stuff, and the demon called Brina out for not being inside the room. And she walked, she walked around the corner because some of the guys in the room that wanted to experience this and whatever have fun, they said, What is he what are they talking about? What what's what is this message? And she walked around, she's like, he wants to know where I am.

And so we were confronting him and like not antagonizing in any way, but we were basically asking him, Why are you here? You're stuck in this room. He was stuck in that room, he could not leave either the upstairs or the downstairs uh green rooms, and he traveled through the closet to get there, right? And so when we he went left, when I confronted him, he went downstairs. So I went downstairs to go confront him, right? And when I went downstairs, there was a little girl and her mom or aunt or something in that room. And he left and went back upstairs. And I went back upstairs to talk to him. And I said, Listen, don't run. I just want to talk to you. Why did you run away from the little girl? Like, if you're a big bad demon, why'd you run away from the little girl? And that's when I started to understand that not all demons are bad.

Not all demons are this massive uh negative energy that is meant to kill everything they see. Yes, that's not true, and so I started to change the narrative in my head, but I had antagonized him a little bit. He was running back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. So there I heard in your session there was a little boy about 10 or 12 years old that got scratched. We were there, we saw what happened. So uh that was the demon. Yes, right? And it was close to the back of at the green room. And when I heard about that, I went, I am so sorry, little boy, because that was that was absolutely my fault.

It also apologized after. Yeah, which it doesn't like to hurt children, it didn't need to, yeah, to play and that's super interesting that you say that because not to get too much into it, but allegedly, so other mediums have said that if I wanted to pursue it, I could also be a medium. And uh well, everybody else, everybody else, a thousand percent, and I've been asked to be mentored to do it, and I was like back then, I was like, nope, it's a little too much for me at the time. But so I've kind of got this reputation of being like the sort of psychic. They called me the sort of psychic, right? It's kind of a joke, and there's a difference, yes, a thousand percent, yeah, right. Um, but you could be both, yes. So when we were there, they were calling out, does anyone have any connection, strong connections? So, of course, everyone throws me under the bus and points at her and goes, She does. And I was like, Okay, then. And they were like, Do you feel anything? What do you feel? So I kind of just sort of tried to meditate in my head a little bit, walked up the stairs, and all I felt was peacefulness, and they were glad that we were there, and it was not I didn't sense anything mean. Do you know what I mean? Like, there was definitely like a lot of entities there, it's more than one there.

There's a lot, and between human and non-human as well.

Yes, yes, and it was it was that it love they loved that we were there, that we were doing that, and I think that's why there was so much activity. Yeah. Um, but it's interesting that you said about the demon that it's not mean because agreed, like there was something.

He was massive, yeah, I have to say mean, right? Like to see these things. And I was saying before you got here, when I I left my husband in 2021 because I wasn't feeling like myself, and I had been blocking my medianship for years, and so I I moved to this house, I had sold my house in uh Howie Center, moved to this house, still didn't feel like myself, still I did everything I thought I needed to do, right? I changed my whole life in many ways, and so I went out back on this property and I opened up my arms and I said, Universe, do your worst, do your worst. I'm I'm done. Like, I'm I'm so exhausted trying to figure this shit out. So I walked back in here. These girls have already heard this, came downstairs, sat here, and started hearing things like this coming through. And I'm like, I think I'm fucking mentally unwell. I need to come to the hospital because I started hearing things, and it would took me months, if not I over a year, to really come like I I didn't tell anybody I was hearing these things, I didn't express that to anybody. I've often had tarot cards, I've often had Oracle cards, I just started using them, but that collection has since grown. Yeah, it's a gorgeous collection. Um and so I just started doing that prior to me embracing my mediumship. This room did not look like this, right? It didn't reflect me at all. Um so I finally realized that I wasn't just hearing things, it wasn't just ego, I wasn't just hearing some random thought that was my mind was just trying to play tricks on me when I heard somebody say something specific relating to my ex-husband, which I could then call him to confirm.

Right? So they they had come through in basically what it was, and I'm not sure if any of you have experienced this on your hunts, and maybe you have, is when a spirit comes through, often they will talk about love. Often they will share friendship, they will share love, they will share all kinds of things like that because at the bottom, at the end of the day, love is all that matters, right? So this spirit had told me to tell a friend who was who had asked to connect to this spirit, um I love you, and she's like, but we didn't have that kind of friendship, like we didn't have that kind of relationship. I'm like, that's what he's saying. He's saying he loves you, yeah. And so the next morning, I'm down here, I'm drinking my coffee, watching my YouTube, and just chilling. I'm literally watching a garden video, like I'm literally not watching ghost hunting, not doing anything ghosty at all. And I hear, if I can love Mo's, I can love anybody.

And I'm like, my ex-husband's last name is Mosey Chuck, he's from New Waterford, um, and he often went by Mosey, right? I never refer to him on his with his nickname ever from the day we started dating. Never called him by his nickname. So for me to hear his nickname in a shortened form, it was like, okay, I would never make that up in my head. So that night I contacted him and I'm like, did this person ever call you by this? He's like, Why are you asking me that? He's been dead three years. And I'm like, Well, you know how I talk to dead people? And he's like, No, what? And then we had the pleasantries, because we are still civil. We had the pleasantries back and forth, like, how is your mom? How are your sisters? How are the dogs? That kind of thing. And at the end, he's like, Why are you asking me this again? And I explained it again. And he's like, Well, if I'm gonna be honest, which I was thankful he was, he's like, Yeah, he did. He called me by that name. And then I was like, damn it, I heard him. I heard him, and then I started to embrace it. And when I started to embrace it, and I actually came out and said, I am a medium, then I was like, Lud it. It was like the lighthouse lit up, and the spirits were like, Hey, there you are. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Right? And it's scary, it's absolutely scary. But one of the things my spirit family that I've learned through my process, my journey, they call it, um, which I don't know why they call it that, because it's as bumpy as I don't know what. Right. Um, but one of the things I learned is they kept saying to me over and over and over again, you're a guide. You're a guide. And I'm like, what the fuck? Yeah, I'm a tour guide. So what the fuck are you talking about? Yes, guys. And they're like, you're a guide. And I'm like, yeah, a tour guide. And they're like, you're a guide. And I'm like, oh, a spiritual guide. Shoot. Shoot us.

Yeah. We would you'd have to whack us over the head with the, you know, yeah, to get us to clue wings.

So I had a uh a group here yesterday, group of three, uh, for readings. And the last person I read for, um, I connected to his mother's energy, which she's still living, and his sister, who passed away in as like an infant uh in the womb. Um, but I connected to both energies, and then I looked at him and I'm like, so you can connect, you understand that, right? And he's like, Well, uh, I have an oracle deck, and I'm like, No, they're telling me that you can connect. And so if people have told you that strangers, yeah, yeah.

And have they ever talked about your aura? Yes. Okay. Um, actually, the one I won't say who it was, but one particular who really wanted to um we just went for a reading, me and my mom. This was years ago, and she would talk about mom and her aura and said, like, she sparkles. That's kind of what she said. I was she would say she sparkled, and then she turned to me and said, Iridescent, you sparkle as well. And I was like, What do you mean? Yeah. And then she was like, Well, the first person, the first time I ever saw a spirit, someone that I didn't realize was in a living, and she started telling me the story of a couple that came in for a reading, and she didn't realize that the husband wasn't there. And it was like they were in a bit and then realized that that was actually his spirit that she was seeing. Yeah. And then she started telling me about how, you know, you will kind of get urges to get up in the night, but it's really just, you know, the spirits trying to communicate with you, and they just want to use you to send their messages. And I looked at her and I said, So what? You're telling me I'm going to start seeing dead people? And she was like, she was like, You kind of already do. And I was like, Stop! Yeah.

So, and that, and that's your block. That that's your ability to say, I don't want to do that. So that's interesting. Um I'm going to go into four questions. And this will be scripted. Can you imagine? I did one of my episodes was called Is Spirituality Universal? Right? Because I really believe it's universal, no matter what religion you're in, no matter what point on this earth you live in.

And so exactly, right? Yeah. And I say all the time, you can take it if you wanted. It's not my I don't um, I have not uh what's gonna call it, um, copy written this phrase or anything, but I am a recovering Catholic. Yeah, yeah, recovering. 12-step program. Okay, so we talked about this, so question four is kind of like null and void now. Uh, but do either of you feel connected in any way?

I do. Like I've had psychics also tell me, like, you live in a lot of haunted houses. I'm like, yeah, I do. And they're like, it's not the house per se. It's like you're really open. Yeah, things are going to come to you.

I live in a house next to my parents, and we knew the lady that lives there. And every now and then I'll see a shadow in one of the rooms. I'm like, it's my house now. You don't get to show up.

I had the REM pod going crazy here yesterday. Yeah, yeah, and they kept telling me to leave. I'm like, this is my house.

Because I want your opinion. Okay. When we do our ghost hunts, we always have stuff happen. Other people and and then I'm like, is it us? Is it because we are so connected? Are we delusional? Are we delusional? Well are we schizophrenic?

Like truly, I don't I I don't know how the honest one was Britain. So from Yes, because I wasn't there because you weren't there, because the bad time.

You know what? And sometimes that is the case. You need the energies, yeah, right? And have you ever heard of the power of three? Oh, yes, yeah, yeah. Big time. Yeah. I have the tricatcher on my back for that reason. Oh, yes, yes, yes, there's a group tattoo group.

So the power of three is a thing. It was used on the book of shadows and charmed for a reason. It is one of the main Celtic knots because it is the Trinity, it is the soul, the the before and the after. Okay, it is everything. Uh, so when you put three things together, things happen in threes.

Bad things, good things. Things happen in threes, right? And this should not hinder me ever coming with you. No, but I'll just preface. I am not only a spiritual guide, I'm an amplifier. So yeah, uh I'm getting off. Are you crazy? Are you crazy? No, you're not. Are things with you that are helping cause uh things to happen? Yes, that does happen. Okay, because you have always had something with you. Something does travel with you, and you definitely have something with you. Do we all have spirit family traveling with us all the time? Absolutely. Do they make things happen? Not all the time. No, but can they? Yeah, if they wanted to. Um now I you guys have a lot of people with. I know a lot because I literally, when I stop talking, when I'm doing readings, often I'll be doing a reading, and my readings are very unconventional. Um, because I literally have what 40 decks here, and I go and pick the one that spirit says pick. Right. And I'll just shuffle, and instead of you, you or you shuffling the Deck as per usual readings, right? And then laying it out in um an actual spread, I literally shuffle and the spirit pulls the cards out of my hands.

Right? So that's called intuitive reading. And I just let the spirit literally control the reading. And I am the medium. I am the conduit. I am just the message person. I am just sharing whatever's coming through. And so when I stop, like I just stop for a second, uh, that's because I hear them. I can hear them. And often, uh, what what um okay? We're totally off james. Okay. But actually, and I'll sh I'll share how we're not off track.

So what was that? I couldn't really hear on the video. I heard Halo come through, but I couldn't hear the reference. What was the reference?

They asked, they were trying to get in contact with a certain person, and they asked, if this is you, will you give us a sign? And Halo came through with a spirit chat. And hey they played broken halos at his funeral. Oh, okay.

I love just the heavy jeebies that I get when I use the dowsing rods. Okay. Because these two, I swear, put like a little hex on it. Because every time I will pick these dowsing rods up, they'll just start tapping me on the shoulder. Yeah. But it's just because the first time that I used them, there was like, is anybody here touch Caitlin?

You know what? I have a set of dowsing rods. I love them. Um and they work great. But the first time I ever tried dowsing rods ever was at uh Dragonfly and Dreams, and I tried Susan's. And I'm telling you, I held them out. She was teaching me how to use them because I had never used them before, and I held them, and they literally went shh sh like spinning in my hands. And I'm like, listen, I'm gonna tell you right now. Stop playing helicopter. I understand that you have power, but we're gonna start asking questions, so I need you to stop.

I'm curious because with me, and I know it's with you too. Do you find when you're using them and you're actually like communicating with something that they're just there holding? Oh, yeah, you can feel it. You can feel the energy. Yes, I like people when I use them because I'm like, this is like talk to me. I'm gonna look up this.

Oh, you know what? If you see someone, that is extremely powerful for them because it takes them so much power to and energy. You know what? You wouldn't. I trust me, you won't die. You won't that won't kill you.

That might give you a little flutter. A little flutter, yeah. Um, and yourself. Uh dowsing rods are number one for me. I find I get the most, and it's the the best answers out of it, and they're more specific, and I really feel connection to them. I love the dowsing rods, and but I also love the random stuff that isn't fancy, like the flashlight. Like we have a recording of a flashlight brightening and dimming from the hat, actually. Yeah, um, you know, wild. That to me was there was no possible way that could do that on its own. I love the cat balls when the cat balls go off because there's no possible way that anything is making that move, and there it is flashing. And they're not fancy equipment, they're from like the freaking dollar store or whatever.

And um, Amazon has to be no, and that's absolutely 100% true. I love that. Um, is that your baseline uh equipment or do you have more equipment?

Uh we have a RUM pod and the EMF detector and stuff too. Yes.

We just got a heat gun. Oh, she's gonna have the heat gun. Yeah, that's awesome. That's great for outdoor.

Like a thermal, you mean, right? Yeah, that's great for outdoor because the only thing that scares me, uh literally, I can't I've seen shit. I have smelled shit. Demon stink. Um, but the only thing that scares me is living people and wild animals. Yes, they're the only things that scare me. Woodland creatures.

That's why I looked at not like we can see if something's pooping.

A bear, a bear or a coyote would scare me. A deer, not so much. Yeah, yeah. But then again, skinwalkers.

Well, yeah. I also want to give a little shout out to our silver-haired sage. Oh, yeah. From so sometimes the fates are trying to tell you things and they intervene. So before we went out to Broughton, we were, you know, should we get bear mace? Should we get coyote mace? You know, to you know, we are going out in the woods in the dark in the night here. So we were at Walmart, us being goofy, we're loud, we tend to draw attention. This ugly gentleman just so happened to be by us, and we started to chat to him for a minute while we were looking at some like electronic stuff. Ha ha ha ha hee hee hee. Have a nice day. Yeah. Lo and behold, off to Canadian Tower we go, and we're looking at the mace. Who shows up but Mr. Gentleman again? And he overheard us and he's like, if you want my two cents, but you just tell me to stop if you don't want to listen. He said, But I, you know, did hiking and stuff in the wilderness in BC. I've been doing this for years. He said, This is my advice. He was like, You're covered with anything with the bear mace, get the bear mace. And he's like, get a slingshot, get these beads. He walked us around, get this slingshot, know how to shoot them. I was like, I used to shoot a slingshot when I was a kid. So we bought them. Yeah. And I had creepy feelings all day. I was nauseated earlier that day, like something was telling me something was important. Anyway. But then as soon as I bought that stuff, as soon as we were set, those bad feelings, which was I think my intuition, yeah, telling me something wasn't right. Once we had that protection, and I've brought our ghost hunting survival kit with us. Um, it went year.

I get her something to do like spooky, like ghost hunting and stuff. And this year I made her up a little survival kit, like a little makeup bag, and it says ghost hunting survival kit on it. And I made a list. It had holy water, it had salt, it had sage, it had snacks, a flashlight, notebook.

I can't remember all the funny stuff that I but you were like, here's some salt so that you can season your fry and protect yourself, make a protective circle. Here's the whole water was like to ward off bad fox. And to splash yourself and drink if you're thirsty. You know, but it's like real holy water, and there's a bundle of real sage in it, right? Yes. Um, you know, to make yourself, you know, ward off the demons and smell good.

Like I uh I laugh, but in a way that that is awesome because I carry a sprayable uh protection spell with me. So and it has my salt, my sage, everything in it. And I'm able to spray me, I'm able to spray my surroundings. Um I sell them peg and orient. Yeah. Um, but I do the sprayable because I used to carry uh a uh Palo Santo with me or sage, but I found when I was outside, or often I've done in inside investigations, um, maybe they didn't want that in the place, right? So I found the sprayable. It's safe for pets, it's safe for kids, it's like a room spray. Yeah, it's all essential oils, right? So you could just like actually. This is not a promotional thing.

And it stayed outside, and after that, I give. Feel the relief from the spirits.

Oh yeah. And when you did, it's like, stop it there, Vicky. And it was like, and then I thought of mom as soon as I heard it, but then I was like, no, that's crazy and narcissistic. You know what I mean? To think that it would be But are you a narcissist? No. Then why would you think that? I I think it's I'm narcissism.

Same with demons, they will not give you their name. Okay, so high-ranking angels, archangels and above will not give a name. And he said his name was John, and then he gave me the name Christopher. I said, Okay, so do those names, either of those names. He gave me both names. I didn't know both names went together, John Christopher. I said, a John or a Christopher, do either of them, you know, if it doesn't make sense, not meant I'm not supposed to understand it. This is for you. Yeah, I'm gonna leave it with you. Left it with her for a while. I was doing a meditation here one day with her sister, who um I know, and that angel came through again and I'm like, why are you here? And he's like, I need you to understand. I was like, okay. So he finally he he went the long way around it, he told the C that route. Typical typical JC. Do we know who JC is? Yeah, typical. Well, so when I was like, are you telling me you're the JC? And he's like, Yeah, I'm like, because I couldn't see his face, yeah, yeah, right? He wasn't like wearing um the garb from like the cross or anything. So I was like, You're seriously telling me I'm talking to Jesus? Like, is this what you're telling me? And so I didn't know how to tell her, right, right, because she is someone that does go to church, she is someone that is scared of the paranormal, she is someone that this might affect her in a negative way, to know that something so quote unquote powerful. Well, I I can attest, Jesus is not higher than an archangel. He is, I I don't know if he's an angel or a guardian angel, but he was able to give me his name, no problem. He was able to come here and show himself. Archangels and above, very rarely will you get them to reveal themselves. So uh she was here yesterday and I I asked her a bunch of questions and I said, I I just need to understand as your medium right now, what are your boundaries? Like, what can I say to you that you will accept? Because if there's things that you cannot accept, then I will not go there. Yeah, I will protect you from that, but I need to understand what your boundaries are. How do you feel about this? And I I went around it, I wasn't like alluding to anything, I asked her direct questions, and finally she she's like, you know what? I am scared, I feel closed off, I am scared, but I do really want to know everything. So I said, Well, I will tell you everything. So you have Jesus with you.

I go back to bed, my dogs sleep with me every night. So I go back to bed, I close my door, and I'm not kidding you, and I swear to God, everything that comes out of me is the truth. So he picked six people. It took a lot to get the from the fifth to the sixth. I was second. Good question. So anyway, we went through the first round of questions, and when he stopped the recorder, I said, Did anybody else notice that the ghosts also were quiet? And he's like, Oh my god, you're right. Right? So we asked the first set of questions. We heard some footsteps, but that could have been the other group. Like, that's hard when there's so much. And then we um we went around a second time and asked a second set of questions. And he said, Listen, I'm just gonna keep it easy. No, that's in Muscatabet. Okay, so it's up on the mainland, and so it's about three hours drive from here. Um, but the Icelandic Memorial is where because people from Iceland came to Nova Scotia to this specific village, and then they also went to like Saskatchewan and in Ontario and stuff, but in Nova Scotia, this was their village and um their settlement, but there is a lot of activity there from what I've learned. Um, there's a like a wood log cabin there that we can set up in. Um and say less than it's a provincial park. It's a provincial park, so it is a memorial site, but there is also a small graveyard there because there was a little boy, I think three years old, that passed away that wasn't part of the original settlement. Was part he was like uh a different uh family. Um so that's like down the road from the actual settlement.
