Teacher Talk: Self-Compassion for Teachers
Feb 07, 2024

This episode is this week's 'Teacher Talk': a fifteen minute talk that explores an important aspect of classroom practice, with practical strategies for implementing it in your classroom.

This week's talk is on self-compassion for teachers. It explores what compassion is, what some of the misconceptions about self-compassion are and some practical steps for helping teachers to apply self-compassion to themselves. This includes: challenging the internal narrator, understanding the role of mistakes,  the importance of boundaries and looking at how you can communicate with yourself moving forward.

I hope you find it helpful and supportive in your classroom. Any feedback on how to improve these talks, or areas you would like me to explore, is always much appreciated.

As always, please do pass this on to anyone else who you think might find it helpful and supportive.
