God answers Habakkuk’s cry, but His response is not what the prophet expected. In Habakkuk 1:5–11, the Lord reveals that He has been at work all along, raising up the Babylonians as an instrument of judgment. This unsettling answer stretches Habakkuk’s faith and forces him to wrestle with God’s sovereignty, justice, and surprising methods. The passage reminds us that God is never idle, even when His ways are difficult to understand, and calls us to trust His character when His plans go beyond our perspective.
