Thank you for listening!
All right, here we are. We are back at the bar. Uh it is a nice sunny summer day. Yes, it is. It's a bit toasty out there, I tell you.
SPEAKER_04It's all relative. Today is actually my humidity is down, though.
SPEAKER_07Yeah. Today is more mild. Uh earlier this week, uh I I remember, I think it was on Wednesday, I decided that I was gonna go out for a long walk in the middle of the day. Wow. And I'm telling you, I 55 minutes later, I came back close to the house. I thought I was gonna pass out because the humidity was so thick. Yeah, you couldn't breathe. Welcome to DC.
SPEAKER_05Well, I'm interested to see it. I was down visiting my daughter, just moved to Miami, and so I was down there this past weekend, and it it's hot here, but it is so humid.
SPEAKER_07Swampy, a little swampy. Swampy. Very swampy.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, so it's not just welcome to DC. It's there's a lot of places where it's hot and humid. And we did several adventures and they have no air conditioning in their car.
SPEAKER_07Oh my god.
SPEAKER_05Oh, no, no, no.
SPEAKER_04So painful.
SPEAKER_07No, that's that's not gonna work down there.
SPEAKER_04I know.
SPEAKER_11I know. Well, ladies and gentlemen, it is summertime. It is. Expect it to be hot and humid. Yes, it is. Up and down the eastern seaboard. Yes, it is.
SPEAKER_07It's crazy. Well, um, yeah, I mean, uh, you know, air conditioning and all that. Uh one one does have a little fear that uh, you know, there are some Democrats that want to ban air conditioning. You know, oh my god.
SPEAKER_11I haven't heard that. This is fake news, baby. You know, not heard of it.
SPEAKER_07So this is uh this is one of those, you know, you just want to poke Kevin for a bit. So I haven't actually heard that.
SPEAKER_04Okay, it was fake news.
SPEAKER_11It was fake news.
SPEAKER_04He admits it. He admits it.
SPEAKER_07It's always a Republican. That's right. Well, or or something. Um uh well, uh Kevin, do you wish to share anything right off the bat?
SPEAKER_05We hear you have a we hear you have a great I mean I'm telling you.
SPEAKER_11You guys know now Washington DC has the worst traffic in the United States. Yeah, well. We've passed we've surpassed California. New York, New York City? Yes, we have. Yes, we have. We are the worst. We have the worst traffic in the nation.
SPEAKER_07Yes. New York City.
SPEAKER_01Yes, have you driven in New York City?
SPEAKER_07I would never drive in New York City. I have driven in New York City, but I would not drive in New York.
SPEAKER_01Would you drive in DC?
SPEAKER_07Uh sometimes I have to do that.
SPEAKER_01Where would you drive first, DC or New York City? Well, if you had your uh which option would you have?
SPEAKER_07Well, I would I I have to drive into the city, into Washington, DC to go to meetings and something. Okay, I'm gonna do it. Because there's no metro where I live. Nor would I take the metro.
SPEAKER_05I'd rather drive in DC than New York City.
SPEAKER_07Well, and LA is pretty bad. But statistically, Kevin is correct. That's right. We've surpassed everything.
SPEAKER_11We have the worst traffic in the nation.
unknownWow.
SPEAKER_11And I know why. Because my fellow drivers are horrible drivers. They're terrible.
SPEAKER_05Well, that's true.
SPEAKER_11That was and I just want to say if you're out there and you're a person who drives the speed limit, stay out of the passing lane. Get your ass out of the passing lane. Agree completely. You are not here to manage traffic. We have bipartisan. Get out of that lane.
SPEAKER_05We have bipartisan agreement on this issue.
SPEAKER_11I'm sorry if you're old.
SPEAKER_05They know how to drive.
SPEAKER_11If you're old and you're unexperienced, do not drive during rush hour. Just stay homeless. Stay ass at home. This is ridiculous.
SPEAKER_05And if you're a southern driver, we'll let me just say one more thing.
SPEAKER_11This is happening all day long. It's all day long.
SPEAKER_09It is all day long.
SPEAKER_1111:30. There's never no traffic in Washington, D.C. right now. Well, and you know what makes it worse inside the city?
SPEAKER_07They've got so many bike lanes now. So now you've like you've collapsed things. A lot of a lot of area, a lot of roads in the city are collapsed down to one lane. And then you get a delivery driver or a bus stopping or a bus.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. Well, just creates more traffic.
SPEAKER_11And let's not forget the cameras. Thank you, Mayor Bowser. Yeah. So yeah, it's uh that's my great.
SPEAKER_05The whole idea of bike lanes is sort of to make it environmentally more sound, right? So people are bike riding bikes instead of driving cars, but in the end, I think that the cars are just sitting there polluting the air. Polluting the air because they now have one lane where they used to have two. Well, so well, and of course, great solution, there is a problem.
SPEAKER_11Once again, well, not to mention we got all this crap going on in the city now.
SPEAKER_07Yeah. Unreal. Well, you know, and it's not uh well, just uh just to get back to why the traffic is so bad all the time. I mean, par another reason is they've cut off so many parking spots on the street. Like when you're driving around Capitol Hill, there are signs now. Can't park here for the next four days, you know, and it's those signs are all over the place now. And in DC, you've got to have a permit to park. You do. And typically one side of the street is permit parking, and the other side of the street is the two-hour paid parking. But it's the two-hour side of paid parking where they put up the signs and say we can't park here for four days.
unknownYep.
SPEAKER_11And why do we have a limit on how long we can park? It's ridiculous.
SPEAKER_07It it it is ridiculous.
SPEAKER_10That's not just a people would abuse that if you didn't if you didn't have anything up there. I think it should be four hours, but definitely. Well, you know the reason that they're no limit.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, I was gonna say, Well, the reason they do that is because they need the money. Oh, they don't need to need the money.
SPEAKER_11I don't know where this money is plenty of money going somewhere. I'll tell you right now, it's ridiculous. Well, they make it they make a lot of money off parking tickets.
SPEAKER_05That's why they and red light camera and the speed cameras. I haven't been anywhere where I can just park for free all day long.
SPEAKER_11Nowhere. Nowhere.
SPEAKER_07I think that's so much. I I wouldn't mind I I don't mind paying to park.
SPEAKER_11If you park in a garage is $25.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, I don't mind paying to park on the street. I mean, if you the the two hours that I pay to park on the street, it's probably six maybe like $5.50. That's a hell of a lot better than spending $25 to go into a garage for two hours.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, but if you if you want to hang out in the city, and that's what's typically happening, is like we might pop into a restaurant for an hour and a half, two hours or whatever. But most people are like, I'm going here, then I'm going there. I'm not coming back to my car. I'm leaving my car at 4 o'clock p.m. and I'm not coming back until 9, 10, yeah, 11.
SPEAKER_11But you can't do that. And the crazy part, all the signs in DC are horrible. You don't know if you can park there or not. If you park there, you get a ticket. It's just crazy.
SPEAKER_05This is not unique to DC. It's a good thing. No, no, no. Well, it's not.
SPEAKER_07But idiotic signs is unique to DC. Right. Okay. Right. So they have signs. There's so many different places, uh streets in DC where you see the sign that says no standing or parking, okay? Between certain times of the day. Um and then and then you have right next to it the sign that says two-hour parking. Right. Well, is it no standing or parking? Or is it no? Just ridiculous.
SPEAKER_11I don't know who's in charge of the uh you know traffic thing down there.
SPEAKER_07But but um I mean clearly the traffic this week has been made uh worse by the the drama taking place at uh 1600 Pennsylvania. Uh is it today or tomorrow? Is it tonight? Is it tomorrow? Tomorrow, right? Or is it tonight? Or maybe it's tonight.
SPEAKER_05I think it's tomorrow.
SPEAKER_10Is it tomorrow? I don't know.
SPEAKER_07Anyway, we need a fact check. We'll do a little fact check. No, I think the event is tonight. I think it's tonight. Yeah. Uh well you'll have to go. No, tomorrow. She's she's right as well. Tomorrow. It is tomorrow? Yeah, okay. It starts at eight o'clock. In the evening. Yes. Okay. And for those of you not paying attention to this, uh the the president has erected a large, I guess they're calling it a claw on the south lawn of the White House to host a UFC event tonight. For four 4,000 people. Um it's quite a spectacle. Um we've seen pictures of the case.
SPEAKER_05I think what UFC event is.
SPEAKER_07Uh uh is an ultimate fighting competition. I mean, is that what you is that the acronym ultimate fighting competition? Yeah, is that what it is? It's a very brutal sport that I've actually got to be.
SPEAKER_10I cannot watch that.
SPEAKER_07It's hard to imagine another sport uh that is more violent. It's probably the most violent sport human beings can actually do. Yeah, for sure. 1000% But uh yeah, I mean it uh He shut off all of the roads to the like around the White House, yeah, several blocks in either direction, which is just made traffic just a complete disaster. Terrible. Um I mean he's the the event happens to coincide with the president's 80th birthday. I'm sure there's no coincidence.
SPEAKER_05I know he wouldn't say that either. It's very deliberate, very deliberate, but it's surprising to me that he would want to emphasize that he's turning 80.
SPEAKER_07Yeah. I mean he wants to demonstrate that he's more vibrant.
SPEAKER_11He's he's the healthiest, the strongest, the everything. So 80 doesn't have 80.
SPEAKER_05I'm still surprised that he wants to emphasize that he's turning 80. Well in this youth culture.
SPEAKER_11Well, I don't understand is you're spending all this money while people are struggling with gas prices and food. That's what I don't understand. Well, he's dodging. And we're gonna have a fight in the backyard.
SPEAKER_07This is ridiculous. I don't get it. And not just any backyard. So apparently they spent um sixty million dollars to put this thing on. Uh uh, seven federal agencies. But I don't know that that includes it's private.
SPEAKER_05I mean, you got donors, right?
SPEAKER_11Of course. Allegedly. Of course he did. Um the donors are the American people.
SPEAKER_00I don't think no, no, no, no, no, no. It's not taxpayer.
SPEAKER_07No, I think he had I I think the UFC guys raise the money for this. But I don't know that the cost includes the repair work that's going to be needed for the off lawn of the white house. Well, apparently it's gonna stay in fire.
SPEAKER_04He wants it there forever like dial tower.
SPEAKER_07Like diamond tower. You mean it's the the arc to Trump?
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Trump. Yeah.
SPEAKER_11Listen, I uh this is how you if you don't know how to launder money, this is how you do it. Okay. Well right. You put on a huge event and you take all the money. Classes. So uh classes and stuff. So if you haven't seen it before.
SPEAKER_07Mr. Producer, we were talking about polymarket offline. Yes, we are. Yes, so here's a good here's a good poly market thing for you. You should do a polymarket about whether that will be the Trump dance during the US. Oh, that's a good one. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00He does it everywhere.
SPEAKER_10He does it everywhere. He does.
SPEAKER_00Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_11I'm sure they're gonna play the YMCA song.
SPEAKER_10I think the I think the introduction is where he does that. When they introduce him, he does the look into the crowd and he does the dance. I think that's coming. I think it's coming. So not too late, place bed. I appreciate that. Yeah, yeah. It's definitely a bit going on. Um well betting on him falling asleep during the match, but that was then there was a chan from midnight to 3 a.m.
SPEAKER_05last night about take it down, take it down at the Kennedy Center.
SPEAKER_07Oh, as they were voted his name today. Yes, they hadn't do that. I can appreciate those people. Several hundred people. They appreciate the law. The law. Uh, it does require an act of Congress. Yes, it does. Um, you know, uh, there are a number of things that required an act of Congress that he's gone ahead and done anyway. Yes. But this is why we have an independent judiciary, because the independent judiciary then steps in and says, no, no, you can't do that. Checks and balances, baby.
SPEAKER_11We'll see how long the independent judiciary lasts. Well, it won't last very long because we got two more years in charge.
SPEAKER_07We got two more years coming. The Democrats and their 18-member Supreme Court. We need balance. We have balance. Um we have we have balance. The court, you know, people the court takes a lot of crap, right? Because everybody, all the liberals are like, oh my God, there's a six-three conservative majority on the court, and how terrible it is. If you actually look at all of the decisions that they have made, um there's a lot of 9-0 decisions. There are 7-2 decisions, but everybody likes to focus on some of these big ones where you know it's the 6-3 conservative majority.
SPEAKER_11Well, the worst one is they gave this man immunity. So I mean that's not the worst one.
SPEAKER_07They didn't give him immunity.
SPEAKER_11They gave presidents immunity. Okay. They gave him immunity because they they knew he was going to make a mess.
SPEAKER_05Well, I think probably the worst one is is is uh rolling way.
SPEAKER_11That one too.
SPEAKER_05Probably the worst one.
SPEAKER_07Well, uh all conservatives. But that's we should probably not go down that rabbit hole. Um otherwise it'll have to bring up Ruth Gator Ginsburg again to annoy Rachel. Um, at any rate, so we are in political season. We've had a lot of primaries. Yes, we've had some rather unique candidates emerge out of these primaries. The worst of the worst. Yeah. And uh, I mean, I think the the two that I think are getting the most attention here are these Senate candidates. We've got one in Texas and one in Maine. The one in Maine is a Democrat, Graham Plattner, the one in Texas is Republican, Ken Paxton. I think it's fair to say that uh both of these candidates are um uh morally and ethically challenged. One more than the other.
SPEAKER_11One more than the other. Well, which one? Yeah, which one?
SPEAKER_05So that's a really low bar.
SPEAKER_11Paxton is horrible.
SPEAKER_05Well, personally, I would never vote for a Nazi.
SPEAKER_07So is that what's happening? Well, so Rachel, take take a moment and tell the audience about Graham Platiner. Please.
SPEAKER_05Okay, so he's he's had this tattoo for 20 years. Oh, it's a Nazi tattoo.
SPEAKER_10It's the schwastic.
SPEAKER_07Oh, got it. And um a Nazi symbol.
SPEAKER_05A Nazi symbol.
SPEAKER_07Unmistakably.
SPEAKER_05Unmistakably. And uh several former girlfriends have come forward and said he knew exactly exactly what it was. He's now claiming that he didn't know what it was. Oh and he recently, only this year, had it had it covered, like had another tattoo put over it, so that it's something else that I don't remember, a turkey or something or other. Um and he's he has said a lot of things in social media over the years about you know, women bring on rape onto themselves and they just shouldn't drink so much.
SPEAKER_07And and um if somebody breaks into his house, he would rape them to prove his dominance.
SPEAKER_05Yes.
SPEAKER_10They are letting this man run for something.
SPEAKER_05He's a democratic nominee to challenge Susan Collins.
SPEAKER_11And he's gonna lose.
SPEAKER_05Well, I hope so, but I hope so. But Susan Collins is the most liberal Republican in the Senate.
SPEAKER_07Second most liberal. No, no, Lisa Murkowski is more liberal. Well, I think they're running the same way. No, I think they're they're running the same range. I think they're maybe a neck and neck and neck.
SPEAKER_05In the long run, I think Collins has a more liberal voting record than Murkowski.
SPEAKER_07Well, but I mean you talk about a striking contrast. There's Graham Platiner with all the baggage that we just discussed, right? And then you compare that to somebody like Susan Collins, who has never missed a vote. Twenty-six years. Right.
SPEAKER_0526 years.
SPEAKER_07Never missed a vote.
SPEAKER_05And she has bucked the Republican Party constantly.
SPEAKER_11Kinda. Many, many times. Yes, she has.
SPEAKER_05She always votes her conscience. She votes her conscience, which is what you want to buck. She voted with Obama.
SPEAKER_11When it matters, she doesn't do it. So they go all the time.
SPEAKER_07Because you don't like it when she doesn't vote. When she doesn't vote your way all the time.
SPEAKER_05There are many times when Susan Collins made the difference in voting with the Democrats. Of course. So there are many times where her vote mattered a lot. Just not the one the one exception is the Kavanaugh, where he where she did challenge him on would he overturn Roby Wade, and he gave an answer that sounded like he wouldn't, and she took him at his word.
SPEAKER_11We knew that was who believed that guy.
SPEAKER_04I was surprised. Oh my god.
SPEAKER_07Anyways. Nobody answers that question.
SPEAKER_04Susan Collins.
SPEAKER_07Nor did Kev and I answer that question. Nobody answers that question.
SPEAKER_05She's like the Republican, but she's voted her conscience and voted with the Democrats many times where it did make a difference. And yeah, 26 years, she's never missed a vote, and and works in the center all the time, works in a bipartisan way.
SPEAKER_10Um and this she's running up against the Nazi guy. Yeah. She won. That's the hope that she won.
SPEAKER_05So that's what well he won the Democratic nominee. Okay. And so in November, he'll be up against Susan.
SPEAKER_07So we have the we have the Nazi misogynist in May.
SPEAKER_05Wait, but the point is that Democrats, Democrats are all backing him.
SPEAKER_11We have no choice. And there's no one else. Who should we be backing now? Who should we be backing?
SPEAKER_05But any Democrat that says we gotta vote for the his moral character. I mean, so every everyone agrees that his moral character is very questionable. They all agree, all the democrats, but it's like questionable. And so they're exactly and so you've got all the Rocanos out there just yesterday. It's like, well, that was his youth. And we all make we all make mistakes in our youth. And I'm thinking, I think those are all the same people that thought that Kavanaugh should be rejected because he got drunk in high school and cost, so parties in high school and college, so that we should reject him. But this guy was uh got a Nazi tattoo and was you know physically violent with women and um rank hypocrisy.
SPEAKER_07I remember them saying he was violent with women. Yeah, well, he said he claims he wasn't violent with women, wasn't he? But they've released these texts, which clearly indicate he certainly was.
SPEAKER_10I just want to be clear, are you defending this gentleman? I just heard so much about it.
SPEAKER_11I don't know what's in there. I'm not I'm not defending him. I think I think we should be putting up better candidates. Well, he is the candidate. This is who we got, all right, which is horrible.
SPEAKER_07Well, all right, let's assist. Okay, if you were a citizen.
SPEAKER_11I believe Susan Collins will win.
SPEAKER_07If you were a citizen if you were a citizen in Maine, who would you vote for?
SPEAKER_11I would probably vote for Susan Collins. Good man.
SPEAKER_05Okay, because a lot of the way. Okay, good. That's good. Because there you got a lot of Democrats.
SPEAKER_11Well I would run for office. Either one.
SPEAKER_05Well, you've got a lot of a lot of Democrats now saying that everybody should vote for this guy because that gives the Democrats the power. That gives us the numbers. And so we need the numbers. Okay, but then these same people cannot criticize people who vote for Trump. No, they're not. If they're not hypocritical, even if you like think that Trump is morally reprehensible, you and you vote for him because you want Republicans to have control, then you cannot criticize people that do that. People that think that the pol the country is better with Republican policies, even though Trump's a dirtbag.
SPEAKER_11Nobody thinks we're better off with Republican policy. Not even the Republicans now think they're better off with Republican policies.
SPEAKER_09What is the Republican policy? What are the Republican policies?
SPEAKER_11They are running up the deficit. It is out of that.
SPEAKER_09There's no policy. What is the Republican policy?
SPEAKER_07The Republicans should never use the word conservative again. We've taken we've taken we've taken a turn into the you know into the abyss here. Uh so let's bring bringing it back to the issue at hand. Um we've got so we have the Nazi misogynist in Maine. Yes. And in Texas, we have uh a person, the Attorney General of Texas is the Republican nominee because Trump decided he was going to support this guy. And he booted out a reasonable over over a very Very high quality, very good senator who actually voted with him like 98% of the time. It was ridiculous. So Ken Paxton is the attorney general. He's been impeached. He wasn't convicted. He has been accused of all kinds of financial improprieties. His own staff has said that he, you know, uses the office to basically enrich himself.
unknownNo.
SPEAKER_07You know, so he's uh you want to watch Trump thinks he's a great guy. Yeah.
SPEAKER_11Oh look at that. Birth of the United States.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, but I mean, but but this is what but but now, you know, Republicans are doing the same thing the Democrats are doing in Maine. Well, you know, we gotta support the guy because, you know, we've got to keep the majority. Exactly. Exactly.
SPEAKER_05So right.
SPEAKER_07The difference is Paxton is probably gonna win, whereas I think Platner is gonna lose.
SPEAKER_05I don't I don't know.
SPEAKER_07I hope it is.
SPEAKER_11He's running up against the Democrat, the young guy.
SPEAKER_07James Tallarico. Talarico who claims to be a Christian evangelist. He's a very good thing. He supports gender transition.
SPEAKER_05He beat and got an incredible grief for having a vegetarian time.
SPEAKER_11He denounced that. He denounced that he denounced that. He denounced that. So let's let's not, you know. Well, he's had uh everybody, you know, we all got ideas and thoughts. We're trying to be inclusive on our indivisive changing.
SPEAKER_05My problem is just my problem is people who are being hypocritical.
SPEAKER_11Look, how do we get out of this mess we're in? We need the American people, regardless of what side of the hour you're on, to vote for people who are for democracy and not king or whatever the hell is going on right now in this country. What's going on? Well, I don't know. Okay, that's ridiculous.
SPEAKER_05Now you have all these democ these Democrats saying support the grand planner because his policies are right. He wants to help uh, you know, people say, and so his moral character, we're just gonna we're that he's young, whatever, you know, even though he got married something like four years ago, and then then three years ago he was sexy with 12 women, and he's like his his defense is it was only six women, so that was his defense. So he there wasn't a few of the things that we're gonna do.
SPEAKER_11Wait a minute, so wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute, hold on. Hold on, hold on.
SPEAKER_05That's still recent.
SPEAKER_11We we we can't talk about any sexual stuff when we talk about politicians anymore. We got uh a criminal in office who was uh found guilty of rape. That's not true. That is factually factually inaction.
SPEAKER_02He's fighting the case right now.
SPEAKER_07He was never convicted of rape, he was convicted of assault.
SPEAKER_11Oh okay, we can we can split hairs either way. I don't want to hear anybody talk about let's not talk about politics. We can't talk about politics and sex anymore because nobody cares anymore. They're different parties, but they're both equally egregious.
SPEAKER_04Yes, okay, but so I mean it's ridiculous.
SPEAKER_11I mean, we want to stand up a flag for certain people. Listen, America, I remember when I grew up, if you if you chewed gum the wrong way, you couldn't run for office. It's true. Period. The bar was here. The bar is way below our feet now. It's in hell. Okay, so let's stop acting like we're uh looking for people who actually meet the standard that we really want them to meet.
SPEAKER_05I'm just saying that if on one side you're gonna say moral character doesn't count, then you have to say it on the other side of the room.
SPEAKER_11I just said it. Doesn't count. Moral character It matters not anymore. Do you not remember we got thieves and sex people and embezzlers everywhere? Do you run across?
SPEAKER_07Do you not remember I did not have sex with that woman Ms. Lewinsky?
SPEAKER_11He didn't.
SPEAKER_07Oh my god, don't say it.
SPEAKER_11He didn't.
SPEAKER_07And I'm not gonna say that.
SPEAKER_08I don't want to clarify.
SPEAKER_07And you know, and you know, the funny funny thing is, you and you guys were old, so we'll remember this, so you'll have absolutely no idea what we're talking about. Okay, okay. So uh you all remember Gary Hart. Yes. Yes, Gary Hart was a very prominent uh Democratic senator from Colorado, rising star. Rising started, and he had been carrying on this affair with this very young woman, and uh uh and they were on this boat, monkey business. Um and Gary Hart foolishly said to the press, come follow me, I'm not doing it anymore. So they did. And guess what? He's having sex with somebody who's not his wife. Oh wow, and ultimately it forced him out of the race. It did. Because that that's the way that we used to react to these things. It mattered.
SPEAKER_11Not anymore. It clearly does not matter. Obviously, it doesn't matter anymore.
SPEAKER_05Right right, it doesn't, but just don't be hypocritical about it. And just be straight out about it. We want him because it gives Democrats power and you know and and don't criticize the other side for voting the same way.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, and it's gonna it's gonna be interesting to me to see if it's gonna be very interesting to me to see if Ken Paxson actually does win. I mean, I suspect he's gonna win because it's Texas and it's despite what the Democrats think, it's not turning blue. Um I do think Collins is gonna be is is gonna be platinum. But I mean, it's um I mean it just it just kind of b begs the question, what kind of candidates are we putting high?
SPEAKER_08I mean it is it is really the problem, right?
SPEAKER_11Where are the people are we listening to? Well, I can tell you why I don't understand. But I can tell you why they're rising. They're connected, they have money so they rise to the top. So the people who are not connected who really want to help Americans and really want to fight for you know social security or healthcare or whatever thing you uh you think is important, they don't see the light of day.
SPEAKER_07No, and it's um you know, and I've I've I'm not I'm not I'm not gonna get on my soapbox right now about gerrymandering. And um please don't do that. Please don't do that. No, but I mean, but but that is part of the that is a huge part of the problem because you've gerrymanded now everybody all the states are gonna be gerrymandered, which means the only people that are gonna be coming out of primaries are gonna be people like Ken Paxton and Graham Platter. Right. And that's a travesty.
SPEAKER_05People that are to the end of the end of the spectrum on either side.
SPEAKER_07Who have no interest in actually solving problems. Yeah. No, and enriching themselves. All right, we uh we're clearly gonna need another beverage after this. So all right, we'll be back. Uh Kevin must have sucked his down during the break. I forgot the top off. That's uh so unfortunate for you. Well, this was a monumental week for the big IPO. It was a big week for the initial public offering of SpaceX. And, you know, the liberals are just have worked themselves into a frenzy about the world's first trillionaire.
SPEAKER_06Trillionaire.
SPEAKER_07And I want to remind everybody that this notion that Musk is now a trillionaire, he is a trillionaire on paper, and the market could open next week and the stock could collapse, and he'll he'll be just a regular billionaire again.
SPEAKER_11So you know, these are bigger than a regular billionaire.
SPEAKER_07He's uh look, um this is a remarkable, this is really is a remarkable thing. When you when you look at this company, I mean this is a company that experienced failure three times. Uh and I forget what the years were. It was like 2006, 2008, some of them were on there, where they first tried to launch their Falcon rock rockets, and three of them failed. And I was listening to an interview with one of the SpaceX guys, and they said, you know, we were out of money if if we just happened to have a fourth rocket. I mean, if we hadn't had another rocket, we might have been done.
SPEAKER_05And just I mean everybody who doesn't have a lot of people. Don't believe that.
SPEAKER_11Don't believe that, ladies and gentlemen.
SPEAKER_05He has been out of money. He has put all of his money on the line several times with and with Tesla, where he did, he put everything on the line, and if it didn't work out, he would have been bankrupt.
SPEAKER_11Ladies and gentlemen, if you try to open a coffee shop and you can't buy coffee, the bank will foreclose on your coffee shop. That's true. Elon Musk has had the American people's purse in his pocket since he started these little inventions. That is not true. He doesn't know. He has never had to spend all of his money. He put all of his money on the line and it's no different than Jeff Bezos, who ran a failing company for years before it became Amazon. America takes care of these people, and they let them borrow money when they know that they could possibly never pay it back. And guess what? No, no, they don't. And let's just talk about Elon Musk for a moment. Because he's talking about Elizabeth. That's why he didn't go bankrupt. He he stole money from the government, he stole data, he stole data from the government, he walked away, and now he's a trillionaire. Thank you, United. Thank you, American citizens, for making this man a trillionaire.
SPEAKER_09They closed USAID. What did they do with the money?
SPEAKER_08They give it to the two expenses. What did they do with the money? No. They moved the money. No. That is not. Are we not paying attention to what people do? No. Critics do. Our president has directed himself and his friends. Wait a minute, wait a minute. We're the hundreds of millions of dollars. We're not at the expense of the American people. That is a different democratic position. That is a different. We're not trying to get my truth. Trump didn't.
SPEAKER_05They're all in the same room. No, no, it's not. They're all in the same room. Trump did do that, but Musk did not. He built these companies. Oh my gosh. He stole PayPal one. Then he stole Tesla.
SPEAKER_07This guy didn't build anything. Yes, he's built. So we're gonna take a momentary pause here and ask the producer, what do you believe is the best electric vehicle out there? Oh, that's a setup.
SPEAKER_04That's a setup, ladies and gentlemen. And what's the answer? What's the answer?
SPEAKER_10I was just saying that the Tesla is the most trusted EV vehicle. Now why is that?
SPEAKER_02Because people want it. And that's why Musk is successful.
SPEAKER_11That's those two.
SPEAKER_09I mean, so what is it?
SPEAKER_07Seriously, what is it that bothers you about this? Is does it bother you that uh the IPO uh has now made him a trillionaire on paper? Is that what bothers you?
SPEAKER_10I can tell you what bothers me about the trillionaire thing is that uh, you know, I don't I was just saying that I don't think there should be any billionaires, but also it's just ridiculous to be a trillionaire, and there's people in our country just without food and water.
SPEAKER_11Nobody's without water. Not without water, not without water. Without food, without most Americans are not without food.
SPEAKER_10So a lot of people are without food. Nah, that's my choice.
SPEAKER_11We're the wealthiest country in the world. People have access to food. I'm not saying people don't have it. Yeah, we do.
SPEAKER_07And you know who runs those cities? Oh no. Liberal Democrats.
SPEAKER_11No. The poorest cities. I grew up in LA. I grew up in Los Angeles.
SPEAKER_02It's ridiculous.
SPEAKER_11The poorest states in this country are red states. Couldn't he? The poorest.
SPEAKER_10I don't I don't know if this is the thing.
SPEAKER_11And the ones that provide the least amount of education are red states. If he's a trillionaire, could he pay, could he pay the taxes, federal taxes, for everyone in America?
SPEAKER_10I have no idea. I don't know. Uh probably.
SPEAKER_07Not now. I think he's an interesting thing though. Not well. Give me the interesting thing. Actually, they hear an interesting thing when they're talking about the whole trillionaire thing. Apparently, if you stacked up a trillion one dollar bills, it would reach the sun. Yes. He probably wants to do it.
SPEAKER_05I mean, no, he probably.
SPEAKER_07If anybody could do it, he could do it. And we should embrace this. We should embrace his ingenuity. The things that this man, with his big fat brain, uh, is going to be doing for our country. So we have uh we have Starlink, which is a provided satellite and internet for people all over the world, including the Ukrainians who have needed it desperately over the last five years. His plan for SpaceX is to go up there and build things in space, including capturing power so that the power can power up these AI data centers all over the country. And people don't realize that our entire electrical grid is hanging by a thread because we have too much too many power needs for the grid that we have. And now you have all these AI power centers that are going to be sucking up all this power. So a guy like Musk comes along and says, Oh my god. I have an idea of how we can solve this problem. Wait a minute, wait a minute. Wait a minute, hold on, hold on.
SPEAKER_05And wait, and wait to answer your question, though. Okay, we spend seven trillion dollars a year.
SPEAKER_10So he could take a he could he could put a night in it.
SPEAKER_06Okay. By giving away all that money.
SPEAKER_10Well you just said he gave away all his money before, and it was no problem.
SPEAKER_07What do you mean? Give away all his money before.
SPEAKER_10So he gave all his money to start these businesses, right? Well put all of his money on the line.
SPEAKER_04He did. Yeah. He did. He had no risk. He had no risk. He bought Twitter.
SPEAKER_11He had no money and he bought Twitter. No, he didn't have money. Let him buy it on paper. This is what happens. This is what happens in the world.
SPEAKER_05He has taken a lot of risk many times in his life, including putting up everything.
SPEAKER_11If you figure out a way to make something popular and say it's worth a billion dollars.
SPEAKER_05The guy is a risk taker for sure.
SPEAKER_11He's taking it, they'll let you do it on paper and bar.
SPEAKER_05And it takes that kind of like a crazy person to come up with like original products and great ideas.
SPEAKER_11He does not have an original product in the world.
SPEAKER_07Well, that's I mean, that is not true.
SPEAKER_11That is factual. We've been shooting rockets up in the sky for years. Or be reused. The technology is there. They are in a position to take advantage of it. So they did it. No. They give them the money, they let them, they let them blow up, they let them blow this stuff up dozens of times and let them go back and try again.
SPEAKER_05And no, and let's do it again. He put his own money up.
SPEAKER_11Oh my god.
SPEAKER_07If I hear that one more time. Are you uh so let's just say for the sake of argument that Musk's theory about him putting up, doing all this work in space, where he's gonna be able to create new energy sources that are gonna power things here on Earth. So let's say it all works. Hold on. Are you gonna are you gonna rethink all of this?
SPEAKER_11Let me just ask this question. Yeah. You think this is his original thought?
SPEAKER_03Yes.
SPEAKER_11You don't think the science and the information that's out here is already kind of compiled that and they're in the room everywhere. Somebody has to make it work. Nobody else, nobody else has this, nobody else is this smart. Nobody else, this is what you're telling me. I've never, ever, ever, ever experienced. It definitely are other people.
SPEAKER_08Very few.
SPEAKER_11There are other people who be a brilliant guy.
SPEAKER_05So this is a maybe an asshole, but he's a brilliant guy.
SPEAKER_11Oh my god, he's not brilliant. He's not brilliant. He takes what he's he it's like anything else. You you live in a certain space long enough, of course you'll figure some stuff out.
SPEAKER_07That's just what it is. Would you feel differently about this if you were a liberal Democrat?
SPEAKER_11No, I would keep less.
SPEAKER_07I could care less.
SPEAKER_11It has nothing to do with being a liberal Democrat or a Republican. He's an ass.
SPEAKER_08And he stole from this country. He stole from this country. And the country propped him up. No, and now he's a trillionaire.
SPEAKER_10For the audience, Kevin, you're seeming a little hot and cold here. When everybody likes somebody you don't like, you just take all of their credit. They could create anything, and you're like, oh no, that wasn't him. So let me ask you a question. Yes. So who is a brilliant person if Elon Musk is not a prisoner?
SPEAKER_07What about Bezos? I mean, Bezos is a good liberal. I mean, you should like him. Oh my God. Here's my point.
SPEAKER_11These people are no smarter than anyone else. Oh my god, that is. It is not. Listen, come on. If you sit down if you sit down and study long enough, you will become brilliant in whatever you're studying.
SPEAKER_00No.
SPEAKER_11People all around the world.
SPEAKER_00All around the world.
SPEAKER_07Differently.
SPEAKER_01I think I'm a reasonably smart person. I I could not be around the biggest. I could not do a lot of people.
SPEAKER_08I am not. Oh my god. You know what that's called?
SPEAKER_10Avoidance. You are sounding a lot like the big T.
SPEAKER_02He just went so hell of the. No, no, no, no. The big T's doing the weave?
SPEAKER_11The big T, the Big T is a big kid's doing the weave. The big T is an expert at taking advantage of people and stealing. You know why? Because he's done it for a long time. Okay. Elon Musk has been in a room. He's been studying this. Of course, he's smart. I ain't saying he's a dumb person. Brilliant. What I am saying is he's not the only one. And if you sit down and study something and you pay attention to what's the ins and the outs, the ups, the downs, whatever it is you're studying, you can be brilliant in that space too. Well, of course, he's going to come up with these ideas. No.
SPEAKER_08And there are other people who have come up with these ideas. I could have never been able to do that.
SPEAKER_09There are other people who are launching. Well, do you know what I mean? But everybody can be around. You didn't study it. There are rocket scientists around the world. Okay, but there are rocket scientists around the world who could actually absolutely do what he's doing.
SPEAKER_11And there's no way you can tell me that one person owns this. There's no way you can tell me.
SPEAKER_10Wait, wait, wait, but it's not about owning it. It's about him having the resources to actually take the American resources.
SPEAKER_09They gave all the money to him.
SPEAKER_11He has the largest government contract, I believe, uh, to fly those rockets up to the lots of people have government contracts. He has the largest. Lots of people have to do it. He developed a person. And every time they blow one up, the American people rebuild it and let them try again. So when he goes and try to set something up there and it blows up, we're gonna let him do it again or we're gonna say he's a failure.
SPEAKER_07So let's so let's so leaving aside the fact that Kevin hates Musk, um I don't hate I don't hate anybody. I don't hate anybody a number of utterly a number of utterly ridiculous statements about how he became who he did. But um as a as a as a practical matter, think about all of the people this man employs, okay? And there I so I was reading an article today about this. So there are 4,000 people that work for Musk, who are now millionaires. That was a that was abour hundred people that are worth about a hundred million dollars. So clearly the people who work for this are benefiting from being a part of all of this. You know what I like to see economy.
SPEAKER_11I'd like to see the breakdown of who these people are. What do you mean? How many African Americans are on his team? I have no idea. Why does it matter? It does matter. It does matter. Doesn't it matter? No diversity. Doesn't what really matter is if they're good at their job? I wonder if there's any diversity in his company. Why does it matter? Does it matter? It does matter. Why does it matter?
SPEAKER_07Doesn't it matter if he's hiring people that are good at what they do? Oh, is that what really matters?
SPEAKER_11That's the kickback. The question is, did he really hire the people because they're good at their job? I think so. Or for some other reason.
SPEAKER_08I doubt it.
SPEAKER_11Did he eliminate people? No, he is pretty soon. And here's pretty good. No, no, here's the here's here's the rub. Here's the rub. What they'll say is Musk's a racist. No, no, no, he's a racist for sure. That's that's beyond the point. But the point I'm trying to make is racist. The point of America is this. Oh my god. If you decide that the only people that are good enough to do the work look like you, then that's a problem. Because we know that other people who are African American or Latino or Chinamen or Asians are just as capable. So what I would love to say the makeup of this company.
SPEAKER_08I would love to say the makeup of this company. So now we're going to be able to do that.
SPEAKER_07All right, were the best people in this company. So what really matters? What really matters is? Do we need to have a whole company full of diversity? No, or we need to have a whole company of people that are actually good at what they do.
SPEAKER_10I think I think it's there's a bigger point here. There are no rocket scientists looking for a job. That's just they're just they're not black rocket sci rocket scientists. If you're a rocket scientist out there, if you're a rocket scientist out there, you're looking for a job.
SPEAKER_02No idea.
SPEAKER_10I was gonna say there probably are a lot of black people into the rocket scientists uh both.
SPEAKER_09Black people in the rocket scientist. What are you talking about?
SPEAKER_10I'll say this. I think I don't like personally when people assume bad things about people.
SPEAKER_11I just said I just said I wouldn't like Kevin doing about makeup. I said I would like to see the makeup of the people and who benefited from what's different of the makeup. But you did a lot of as an air quotes on the idea. I'm a black man, I would say I would like to think that he hired some very capable people that don't look like him and they benefited from this extraordinary quadrant wealth.
SPEAKER_05And you have no reason to think that he did. I would know that you're making it. I just said I would like to say I just died that he's you're saying that. I would like to see a tough taskmaster and he fires people all the time based on the quality of their work, not based on how they look.
SPEAKER_11So Kevin, you're saying no one at this table knows this man at all.
SPEAKER_07So Kevin, are you saying that a lot of stuff? Are you saying that if 12% of Musks work for African American, then that's gonna make him okay?
SPEAKER_11No, I would like to, I would like to see what I hope there's at least one black person, or one Asian person, or one Latino person who actually is uh qualified to do the job, and they got the job. That's all I'm saying.
SPEAKER_10What you're saying is you so the what you're implying is that he is running, he's gonna be a- I didn't imply anything, I just said I would like to see the makeup.
SPEAKER_04I said I would like multiple implications of what you said.
SPEAKER_11I just said I would like to see the makeup of the people who became millionaires overnight. That's what I said. But you still do.
SPEAKER_07I mean, but you still have to haven't even answered my question. If everything, if what he is, if his plan works, and all of a sudden, you know, we've solved our power generation problem on Earth. Right. Will you check it out?
SPEAKER_05Our AI data center problem.
SPEAKER_10As long as there's a black person, I mean, as long as he has black people working for him, then it'll be fine.
SPEAKER_11It should be an American company. Well, it is an American company. No, it should be run by the government. Oh my god. It would be run by the government. Oh, you mean the government should just take it off and pay for it? Oh god. We did pay for it. There's no way he's doing this without the American American uh He did.
SPEAKER_05He built his products without them, without the American, without contracts from the government.
SPEAKER_09He built his contracts with the federal government.
SPEAKER_05No, he built his business's products.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_10Without digress. Digress with it. I understand. This is the biggest cannon milk film we've seen. This is a milk film.
SPEAKER_11I don't like propping people who don't deserve being proper.
SPEAKER_05But you don't you don't like I delivers.
SPEAKER_07I watch the command. If you don't deliver, you don't get the good. I watch the command.
SPEAKER_11Well, you're figuring it.
SPEAKER_06You're fixing it on the dog.
SPEAKER_11Take people's job.
SPEAKER_05Take people's jobs. He was way out of the leg. Rob.
SPEAKER_11Destroy USAID and then go off and become a trillionaire in 18 months at the expense of the federal government. That is a problem.
SPEAKER_05Nothing to do with his work at Doge. Nothing to do. I'll leave it there. I agree he was way out of his leg and doge. And he did a bad job at that. That had nothing to do with it. Exactly what he wanted to do.
SPEAKER_11He has everybody's data.
SPEAKER_05No.
SPEAKER_11He has everybody's data. Which is called our cat. And what he did.
SPEAKER_05Nothing to do. It didn't contribute a penny to him becoming a trillion.
SPEAKER_07We do have to get on to the last Kevin from further going off the rails. Into some, I don't even call it fantasy land. I don't know what kind of land it is. I don't know what to even call it. All right. We're going to switch topics into an equally serious but very different topic, which we're going to let Rachel talk about.
SPEAKER_04Oh, wait, where are we going? Is that where we're going?
SPEAKER_07No, no, no. We're going to talk about nobody's having babies.
SPEAKER_05Ah, okay. Well, two-thirds of the world is no longer reproducing itself. So we're no we're no longer create having enough babies to reproduce ourselves. And the question is, why is this happening? And is it a good thing or a bad thing?
SPEAKER_11It's a bad thing.
SPEAKER_05I would I I would agree. Why do you think it's a bad thing?
SPEAKER_11Well, so I was watching uh 60 Minutes last a couple weeks ago, and a guy was on, and you know, a lot of young girls now are putting off having children to freeze their eggs to have them later. And I get the logical you know reasoning behind this is to you know do the career first and be ready for the baby, but I think it's a mistake to not have children in your your younger years and grow with your family and have a committed relationship, and I know it's tough right now, but it just makes it doesn't make sense to me that we're putting money before a family. That's how it feels to me.
SPEAKER_07So do you think that the reason do you think that the reason that people are waiting to have children until later in life um is entirely related to their careers or for some other reason?
SPEAKER_11Well, we we've told them that you have to have a BMW and a four-bedroom house to take care of your baby and to take care of them well. Uh so they decided that we're gonna get the BMW and a four-bedroom house before we have a baby so that we're ready for this child.
SPEAKER_10I disagree.
SPEAKER_11But I but I'll tell you when I had my children, I was not prepared. I didn't have a lot of money. I used my community, I used what I had, I raised my kids, and it turned out just fine. I don't I'm glad and I'm glad I didn't I get to grow up with my sons, and I don't I don't see why we are putting this.
SPEAKER_10You know why? You know, the the one thing I want to say about you know, you were coming up or had your children, I guess, I'm I'm assuming. Um the the the the median salary you could afford uh most of the things that you would need to take care of your child.
SPEAKER_11Uh not necessarily, but I but most more of the thing.
SPEAKER_10Today, most people cannot afford housing, uh whether it's owning a home or even or even renting a home. Uh the rental rental rates are skyrocketing right now.
SPEAKER_11Well, I I gotta tell you, and I know everybody doesn't have a parent that can take them in, but anyway, community is important, you know.
SPEAKER_05And so I think part of it is kind of the breakdown in community because I think people are generally feeling more isolated, and and and that has a lot of impacts. So one of the impacts is that if you are kind of a young couple, you don't have the same community, don't have your parents around, grandparents, family around to help with all the child raising issues, takes a village, um but also um a little more isolated even in terms of developing solid relationships, and a lot of people attribute that to social media because people end up on their at home with their screens, and that is substituting for meaningful relationships, and then uh a lot and then they're finding that people don't actually know how to be in a relationship um because they're using social media as a substitute. So I think that does explain a lot of the what's happening in terms of the developed or the developed first world countries, but the statistic actually applies to second world and third world countries as well, which is kind of interesting. So it's a it's a worldwide phenomenon where people are are not uh having children uh to the extent that they have our previous our previous history, where we were over over replicating our ourselves, and now we're sort of under replicating.
SPEAKER_07So the article that we all read today included a little line in there where they talked about a uh a recent study that looked at um increasing uh secularization and moving away from the Catholic Church is the reason that the French started to have uh fewer people having babies. This was in the 18th century. So some of this may actually run in in cycles, right? Um but just a little focus group here. Um so when did you all have your first child?
SPEAKER_0525 uh 29.
SPEAKER_0729. So I think we're all a little different. Very different. What's going on today?
SPEAKER_10Well, I think there's a I think there's a dating crisis one.
SPEAKER_07And we're not all the same age, by the way.
SPEAKER_10I'm in my early 30s, and I think that this this uh article is is terri is is terrible news to hear. Um but back to what you were saying about the BMW in the four-bedroom house, I don't think that the average, you know, 28-year-old, 30-year-old is looking for the BMW, but I do think we logically see that, you know, we want our children to have the best school to go to, we want our children to have the best nutrition, we want our children to have the best opportunities, and we want them to live in the best environments. So all of those things combined, you look at your you know, salary hasn't gone up much as well.
SPEAKER_05But that is a dirt change in mindset because my parents had kids when they were dirt dirt poor. I mean, they they had nothing.
SPEAKER_07And I would I would I would venture to say that when we all had our first child, sure, we probably weren't swimming in money. No.
SPEAKER_10It's not about so many money, it's not about so many money, especially because being dirt poor today looks very different than being dirt poor in the whatever year that was. I don't want to say 70s, 80s, 90s, 70s, 80s, 90s, right? Because these days you need a phoney, why five, like just to do general stuff, like you know.
SPEAKER_11Well, I know you want to say you need, but you don't need all that to have a family.
SPEAKER_05I mean, that's what I know that's what I said to my kids because they were like, oh, we have to wait until PhD is done and whatever. No, you you don't, you don't. All you have to do is you have to love your kids. Sure. That's all you have to do.
SPEAKER_07And then and we have to love each other and you have to love each other. Right, right.
SPEAKER_05And you don't have to you don't have to be in a position where your life is all set. Because actually your life is never all set. It's just never all set. It's never all set.
SPEAKER_07But but there's I mean there's so uh I'm a person of faith. And I do think that um I do think that part of the reason that and I and I say part, and I do mean part, not the whole reason. But I think I do think that part of the reason is we we are living in a much more secular country today than ex than what existed 20 or 30 years ago. And because I think it doesn't make any difference what religion you're a part of. I mean, they emphasize the importance of all religions, emphasize the importance of families, right? I mean, that's um all all faiths do that. And uh, you know, there there was a statistic um the the largest uh the largest group now, uh they took a look at Catholics, Jews, different faiths. The largest group now is unaffiliated, people that don't belong to a particular faith.
SPEAKER_11Well but I think part of that reason is people have been, you know, church hurt, right? Church hurt, so whatever church or whatever religion you subscribe to, they've been hurt by the leadership or something that happened. Church hurt so you don't feel like they they were the hypocrites, right? They let you down. So I don't want to be a part of that, you know that so they they subscribe to being spiritual or whatever and and I don't have a whole issue with that other than you have to follow some person. And I think most of the all of all the religious men speak about family and love one another, community, love your neighbor, blah blah blah. I'm I'm also a person of faith, even though I'm a Democrat, because we are the devil. They think we're all on the devil, but there are exceptions to every rule. We love Jesus too. And we we love Jesus too, and we love our fellow man as well. And we don't like to, you know, kick the people out who don't act and do what we you know what we subscribe to. We don't like to do that. But nonetheless, um, but I think people are trying to find out find a place where they can really, you know, have that spiritual connection without feeling like they've been disappointed by it.
SPEAKER_07But I feel like too many people feel like this is their spiritual connection.
SPEAKER_11Well, I don't disagree with that.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, I so I think that social, yeah. I I mean there are several things that are going on. And so church at uh religion at its best creates a bigger sense of community. Um and but at its worst also, I mean, some of the worst wars are fought in the name of religion, right? Or in the name of God. I mean, you've got the you know Israelis and and the Palestinians and that's and the Hootis and the Tutsies. I mean, they like television killing each other all the time in the name of religion. So um but again, at its best, it's it creates a larger community. And the other the the other thing that has deteriorated a larger sense of that sense of community is that people are more mobile. So nowadays everybody moves away from there where their family is. And so rather than having that.
SPEAKER_07So you lose you lose start you lose a little structure there. You lose your community, you lose your you lose your community and you're kind of we're all spread out and here's but but so you know part of this article uh or part of part of this issue is that you know you now have uh you know women who are you know freezing their eggs because they because for whatever reason they their career or now is not the right time, or they don't have the right guy, whatever, right? Um but the the qu and I'm gonna be very careful here because this is venturing into a space that you know my gender shouldn't. Um but let let's say you're let's say you're in your uh your your mid-30s and you decide I'm gonna freeze some eggs. But you you ultimately are not ready to have a child for another five, six, seven years. Well okay, well now you're in your early 40s, and does that not does that not make it a more challenging pregnancy at that age?
SPEAKER_11Yeah, and and the and the opposing doctor on that segment at 60 minutes was actually saying first of all, you're older, you buy it's gonna be a tougher time. Tougher time. One and two, there is no guarantee that those eggs are gonna make it.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, usually when they freeze, they freeze a lot of them because again, yeah, only a certain percentage is gonna be.
SPEAKER_10I think that the people that freeze their eggs, I mean I'm I don't want to speak for women like John said, but I think that if you make that choice, I I think you're probably okay with the idea that it may it may never work for me.
SPEAKER_05If you're gonna take that chance, I think that you are probably okay with it. Not necessarily, but if you've if you're gonna do make that decision, it's because you're not in a point where you kind of have to get so maybe you're not in a relationship yet or so.
SPEAKER_07Let me let me ask you this. So actually I actually know a couple of people who have done this, um, you know, who've frozen their eggs in their 30s, but are now like into their 40s, and they're not gonna have they're not gonna do it now because they feel like they're too old. So in in that case, can those eggs be donated? I mean, how does this I actually don't know the answer? Yeah, because I can tell you, I can tell admittedly, as a as a person of faith, I can tell you what I don't like is the discarding of the eggs. I I'm uncomfortable with that.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, yeah, yeah, for sure.
SPEAKER_08Really?
SPEAKER_07Really?
SPEAKER_08They're not they're they're somebody's eggs.
SPEAKER_07They're not gonna use them. Kevin, what is the egg going to become? I'm gonna tell you right now. It ain't gonna become a plant. I don't want my sperm. It's an legitimate object.
SPEAKER_11I don't want my sperm to be going to become being fertilized.
SPEAKER_09That's true.
SPEAKER_11I don't want my sperm going on no egg that's going in the person that I want to be with. I just don't want that. I don't you can do if you want to borrow some eggs and do that, that's all you can do. So again, no thank you.
SPEAKER_07Again, I I I am mindful of venturing into a territory I shouldn't be venturing into, but I honestly don't know the answer to that question. Like, I mean, it's do you know the answer to that question?
SPEAKER_05I don't know the answer to that question, but again, but not all of those eggs are are fertilized, so that's the thing. I'm sorry, we're telling you, period, not allowed.
SPEAKER_11I'm assuming it is not unlimited freezer space either.
SPEAKER_06Well, they're kind of tiny.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, hey, America.
SPEAKER_11And a partner. Have sex and have a baby. Jesus Christ.
SPEAKER_10And my last point about the unskilled.
SPEAKER_07Well, let's be clear, that's not how it's done, you know, in every case nowadays. Okay. There are now other ways to do this.
SPEAKER_11If you're able to buy true, that is very true. And you meet the guy or the girl, commit. Have a baby, raise the child, love the child.
SPEAKER_07We need to re- we do need to repopulate the species.
SPEAKER_11Listen, we're listening. Once our team gets out of the way, populations dropped.
SPEAKER_05Unless all those aliens that are here among us are gonna take over.
SPEAKER_07You know what Musk's solution to this is just to he he just wants to procreate with everybody.
SPEAKER_11Hasn't he done enough? He hasn't done enough. You gotta let the kids.
SPEAKER_07I'm actually surprised he didn't bring that up.
SPEAKER_11But you know what else he said? He said that uh we just tell people not to work, we'll just give them money. Don't go for that, you guys. Don't go for that. You don't want that crazy man being your boss and controlling them.
SPEAKER_07Before Kevin has another meltdown about Musk. Uh let's just say this is a good podcast. That's a good podcast. He's very good. For sure, for sure. We'll be back soon. Uh it is it is now June. Well, maybe, maybe not. We don't know if we'll be back before the end of June, but we will try.
SPEAKER_11But we will be back soon. And just remember to subscribe and like and share with your community.
SPEAKER_07And send all your three people walking to us from our emails to Kevin.
SPEAKER_03All right. All right, guys. Cheers. Cheers.
