This workout combines intervals of effort with recovery periods, using the spooky number 13 to challenge and motivate you! It's designed to improve your speed, stamina, and overall fitness while having some fun with the theme. Here's what the workout looks like:

Warm-Up (13 Minutes):

  • 3 minutes of brisk walking.
  • 10 minutes at an easy pace (EZ pace).

Main Workout (26 Minutes):

  • 1-minute push (run at a challenging pace).
  • 1-minute recovery (slow jog or walk).
  • Repeat the push/recovery cycle 13 times.

Cool-Down (13 Minutes):

  • 10 minutes at an easy pace (EZ pace).
  • 3 minutes of walking to finish.

Best Practices for Keeping Safe:

  1. Warm-Up Properly: Start with dynamic moves like leg swings, high knees, or butt kicks for at least 5-10 minutes before the workout. This prepares your muscles and joints for activity.
  2. Pace Yourself: During the 1-minute push intervals, run at a pace that challenges you but is still manageable. Don’t go all out too soon; aim to maintain consistent effort.
  3. Recovery: Use the 1-minute recovery intervals to slow down your pace and catch your breath. Walk or jog lightly during these intervals to avoid sudden stops.
  4. Cool Down & Stretch: After the workout, do 5-10 minutes of static stretches, focusing on your hamstrings, quads, calves, and hips. This will help prevent stiffness and aid in recovery.
  5. Stay Hydrated: Drink water before, during, and after the workout to stay hydrated, especially if you're exercising in hot or humid conditions.
  6. Modify as Needed: If the workout feels too intense, reduce the push intervals to 30 seconds and increase the recovery time. Listen to your body, and don't push through discomfort or pain.
