Jacksonville has no shortage of things to do, but picking the right night out can feel impossible when every venue is booking something big. We kick things off with a rapid, listener-friendly guide to May shows across Northeast Florida, including major concerts, comedy, family entertainment, and arena events, plus where to grab the details and tickets so you can actually plan your calendar with confidence.

From there, we go deeper with three guests who couldn’t be more different, but all circle the same theme: why live moments still matter. Teresa Caputo, the Long Island Medium, joins us ahead of her Florida Theatre stop to talk about the weight of her work, how she thinks about healing, and what the live experience looks like when she’s off the stage and moving through the crowd delivering messages. Even if you’ve never been to a medium show, her explanation of boundaries, faith, and the “why” behind what she does is surprisingly grounded.

Then Alex Band from The Calling takes us back to the early-2000s wave that made “Wherever You Will Go” a defining hit, including how his Santana collaboration happened and what it’s like being shaped by marketing you didn’t choose. The conversation turns unforgettable when Alex shares his Parkinson’s diagnosis, the years it took from him, and the recovery that doctors later called essentially unheard of, plus how that fuels a new album and the single “Dust.” We wrap with a fun Broadway in Jacksonville quiz with Amanda Scott from the FSCJ Artist Series, spotlighting Hamilton, The Sound of Music, The Wiz, Jersey Boys, and The Outsiders, along with dates and ticket tips.

If you like episodes that mix local culture, music history, and real talk, hit subscribe, share this with a friend who needs a Jacksonville events plan, and leave a review so more people can find the show.

I had a chat with Teresa a few weeks ago, right after that bomb cyclone winter storm hit the Northeast. Quick question Were you home during the bomb cyclone?

SPEAKER_02

I was.

SPEAKER_01

What was that like for you?

SPEAKER_02

I just made it home. I I literally I was in Atlantic City doing a show at the uh Oceans Casino, and uh we got home at three o'clock in the morning, and then the snow started like 12 hours later.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my gosh. And I'm I'm sure you came out okay.

SPEAKER_02

I'm glad I'm glad I was home because you know I live right next door to my parents. So, you know, my dad's still at 85. He's got to be out there snow blowing and everything. So, you know.

SPEAKER_01

You know what, Teresa? My pop's 89 and he golfs two or three days a week. So we are so lucky to have our parents still being that active. Hey, so you're coming to the Florida theater, the uh the live platinum experience. We're so excited. We love when you come to town.

SPEAKER_02

Thank you. I'm so excited to be back here. It really is, you know, I tell people, this is probably the most amazing show that you will ever attend in your life. To be in a space and to feel the healing and the love and to watch a perfect stranger or maybe even one of your own family members heal right in front of your eyes is something truly remarkable.

How Her Mediumship Becomes Healing

SPEAKER_01

It's funny you mentioned healing because I was watching uh I'm a I'm a big fan of Bunny XO, and I know you were recently with her, and she was asking you about who heals the healer, and I loved your answer on that.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. I I I think a lot of people don't un um really understand the work that I do or where I feel, you know, I know my gift comes from God, and I know it's guided by God, because I wouldn't be where I am without him. You know, I I I put my gift in God's hands, you know, uh almost thirty years ago. Uh, 'cause I was struggling with my gift and I couldn't understand why I would be blessed with this gift, and then who would want to come and see a medium, right? And it was shown to me in a spiritual experience that I had that um people pass away and we are left with these negative emotions that do not give us the ability to heal. So I put my gift in God's hands and I said, Listen, if this is my soul's journey, you open the doors and I will walk through them with my gift. But I only want to use them to help people to heal. And that is it. I I reminded God that I'm afraid of the dark and I don't like to be scared.

SPEAKER_01

I remember reading that you knew you had this ability at a very young age. About how old were you when you were able to kind of get a harness on it and communicate?

SPEAKER_02

I I I honestly I didn't know that that it was a gift. I just thought everyone was sensing and feeling the things that I was. And, you know, it wasn't until uh it was later in my twenties that I had this ability.

SPEAKER_01

Is it possible to ever turn it off or are you always being inundated with messages coming from somewhere else?

SPEAKER_02

I feel there was a time where I felt extremely overwhelmed with the souls of the departed, but I think because of where I am in my life and my soul's journey and that I am constantly channeling, it's almost like souls. I I've kind of built this um you know, they have to show me three things before I say something, if I'm not working. Um, so I have to feel, they have to sh make me feel and show me three things before I actually approach someone, just say randomly.

SPEAKER_01

So I guess that's how you manage the well, for lack of a better word, the noise, I guess.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Yeah. And and and I I honestly I can't tell you how I do this. I don't I don't know how this works. So I love when people say, Oh, she does this and she does that. I'm like, I'm so glad you know what I'm doing, because I have no idea how this works.

What A Live Reading Feels Like

SPEAKER_01

That sounds like my life. Well, for someone who's never even seen like the Long Island Medium or been to your show, tell us about the experience.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, yeah, I I tell people that. Well, I mean, you wouldn't believe how many people come to my show, they have no idea who I am. Because and just before I get into the show, they'll say, I had no idea what to expect when I went to that show. I had no idea who Teresa was, but what I witnessed was absolutely life-changing. And that is such a powerful statement because you know, I come out on the stage, I give a little quick speech on how I communicate, um, and what people could expect over those next few moments. And then once I start channeling spirits, I allow them to guide me around the space. I'm not on that stage. I am down in the audience, randomly stopping in front of someone. I have cameras that follow me around, and big we set up a big screen. So no matter where I am in the theater, you're gonna be able to witness the messages being delivered up close and personal. So you could be in the balcony, you could be all the way in the back, you could be in the front row, in the middle of the theater. I we have no idea who's gonna get read.

SPEAKER_01

Teresa, you know there's a well-documented spirit living in the Florida theater, right?

SPEAKER_02

There's spirit everywhere, especially in old theaters. You know, we have projectionists, we have opera singers, right? We have people that worked at the venue.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, that's so cool. Teresa Caputo live at the Florida Theater on Friday, May 1st. Tickets are available at Teresa Caputo.com and Florida Theater.com. We so appreciate your time this morning. We know you're busy on a radio tour, and we thank you for letting us be a part of that tour this morning.

SPEAKER_02

Well, I appreciate and thank you very much.

SPEAKER_01

All right, I'm sure you remember the massive hit song Wherever You Will Go from 2001. It was by a group called The Calling. Well, the Calling will be in Jacksonville at Five Jacks on Saturday, May 16th, and I had a chance to catch up with their lead singer and guitarist Alex Band.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, dude, like the last time I played in that area, it was, I think it was a radio show and an arena. You know, it's been it's been a long 20 plus years, so I'm uh I'm excited to play, you know, even even a smaller place. But that place sounds awesome.

SPEAKER_01

Uh, I want to uh ask you about something. I had Rob Thomas on my podcast a few months ago, and we were talking about his experience working with Santana. Can we touch on um why don't you and I uh for a second?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, of course.

SPEAKER_01

I absolutely love that song, and I was working in top 40 when that song came out, and I knew the calling, but I didn't know Alex band by name, and so I felt like that opened up you to a whole new audience.

SPEAKER_03

It was, dude, it was uh awesome. It was bittersweet though. It was quite an experience. It was uh, you know, like literally as like wherever you'll go is you know, peeking around the world. I get a call from Santana's camp, and they're like, you know, we want you to do this. I was obviously thrilled to do it. Uh Chad Kroger had written the song. So I mean, for me this was weird. I'd never really sang a song that I didn't write. So but it was a cool opportunity. And you know, I went in there and I actually flew to Canada to meet with Chad Kroger. We and he recorded my vocals for the track. And then yeah, I did a bunch of shows with Santana and stuff, and it was an amazing experience. And and what a what a wild wild world that at the end of 2010 that the two of the top five adult top 40 songs of the decade are are that and wherever you will go. I was just like uh yeah, that's just crazy. Yeah, it's crazy, crazy.

SPEAKER_01

Wherever you will go ended up being like the number one song of the of the decade, right?

SPEAKER_03

Yes, that's correct. And I think the number five song was Why Don't You And I. So it was like uh it's really crazy.

SPEAKER_01

You left a you left a huge impact on that decade.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, quite a feat. Yeah, very, very lucky. I'm very lucky guy.

The Calling And The Boy Band Label

SPEAKER_01

I remember the first time I saw like a picture of the call-in, I think it was in the trades, and I was like, oh, another boy band. I was like, uh I know.

SPEAKER_03

And dude, we were so we were so totally, you know, by our label pushed in that direction, and it was like, come on. I was like, this is everything, you know, with TRL and all this shit. I mean, TRL obviously was the place to, you know, get your video, play it, and do all that, but just the image, just the way they marketed it, I was, you know, you know, on the cover of Teen Magazine and shit. I was like, this is this is absurd. No one's gonna take us for real. And then, you know, and that honestly is a huge part of why we didn't really have a live presence in America, because people assumed that's what we were, they didn't really care. And luckily we had huge success internationally. So, you know, I I mean I sold m tens of yeah, ten million records outside of America. So like and we had this great live following. So I mean that's kind of continued on, but America's kind of the place where we Yeah, that's a huge part of of why people, you know, never really would see us live. But if you do see us live, you will definitely understand that we're they're uh we're a great band live.

SPEAKER_01

So it's funny because the first time I heard the song, I remember it thinking of like Chad Kroger, and I was a huge fan of Vertical Horizon and coming off, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Man, Vertical Horizon was killer. Yeah. Yeah, I played a lot of shows with them.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so coming off that that their album and hearing um, you know, wherever you will go, I was like, oh, I'm a fan of this. I love this.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, definitely all that same genre, that same area, yeah. Yeah, it was a it was it was a fun time. It was also the last few moments of the of the good old world where people had to buy your music, which was, you know, was uh was a fleeting moment and then it all changed. Actually one of my one of my favorite memories ever is in Fort Lauderdale playing the show. It was my twenty first birthday, it was a radio show, and we were uh I don't think we were headlining the show, the rather big acts, but all I know is that Stephen Tyler showed up to surprise me on stage and bring me a birthday cake and sing me happy birthday on stage, and then I got to perform with him, walk this way. This was like this is like one of my idols of all time growing up. And I this was the most insane thing. I have it all on video, it's one of the craziest experiences ever. In that neighborhood.

SPEAKER_01

That's insane. Steven Tyler sings your happy twenty-first birthday on stage in Fort Lauderdale.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, that was that's one of the most amazing experiences.

SPEAKER_01

Absolutely. That is that is so cool. What's touring like now, you know, twenty-some years later? I mean, obviously you guys are still rocking.

Parkinson’s Diagnosis And Recovery

SPEAKER_03

I mean, I you know, mostly south up there, you know, consistent touring every year, mostly Brazil as well, Asia as well, lots of you know, Southeast Asia, you know, we're in an army. We're just in the Philippines uh last month. We you know, when we toured tour a lot of uh Europe as well. I mean, it's been a few years since we've been there, but obviously did really well in Europe. So just a lot of international touring. But for the most part, you know, right around when we would have made a third calling record, I I got taken out for a decade. I mean, basically the ten years of my life was taken. I was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and that was that was just the end of everything, basically. So it's it's a fucking miracle. Sorry to curse, you can take that out too much. Yeah, it's a podcast. We're fine. And still here in doing this because uh that was all over uh starting 2010. That was the whole that was over, basically. My whole career and and yeah, my life. So I but uh miraculously seven, eight years later I somehow didn't have the disease anymore, which which is like not heard of. I don't I still don't know what how it happened or what happened, but it was uh yeah, like a new life gifted to me.

SPEAKER_01

I have never heard of that before.

SPEAKER_03

I know well neither of us neither of them. It was either basically either and this is multiple hospitals, multiple heads of neurology, USCLA, Cedar Sign in. I'm Los Angeles here, you know, I've gone to multiple other doctors all all over the world. I was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease multiple times. Multiple doctors and and I had the effects. Like I was in a wheelchair for a year, I was put on all the same medications, like Michael J. Fox was put on all this stuff. And but then it progressively it progressively got better and better and better until the point where it was i I was leading a pretty normal life and I was five years after diagnosed, I was playing shows again, albeit with a cane, but still and then it just got better and better until yeah, until they redid all these you know, brain scans and they're like, Oh, you don't have the disease anymore.

SPEAKER_01

Alex, God's got a bigger call for you. Yeah.

New Album Written Through Comeback

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, so ever since then, you know, it's been like, Oh my god, well, I gotta get back to what I do, and that's that's why I'm here and first calling record in twenty four twenty-three years, sorry, coming out uh this year. So awesome.

SPEAKER_01

We can't wait for that. Gosh, I I I am so glad you told me that story because I I don't know how I missed that.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, well, you know Yeah, it's uh Yeah, you can see it online. It's um, you know, with a lot of I don't know, a lot of people have has have talked about it, but uh but yeah, hearing it obviously from me is is a is a is a more clear thing. But yeah, that was that is basically the why the calling disappeared for such a long chunk of time. Yeah. Since I got better in like 2020, I mean I was like, okay, new record, let's go. And then obviously COVID hit, that threw things back, you know, for all of us years, and then it's just been uh you know hard to find the right labels, the right management, and you know, years of you know, testing and trial and error, and then obviously yes, we have a new album now. Uh finished, uh kill our first single called Dust. Um radio in like a month or two, I think. And then uh and yeah, brand new album, super excited. Like, I mean it's an album that I literally wrote part of as I was getting better from Parkinson, wrote some again once I knew I wasn't didn't have it anymore. Once, you know, some of it was in the last years. Like, so it's just this amazing record of uh of crazy experiences, basically.

SPEAKER_01

I'm super excited to hear that. I love albums that kind of have a theme or you know, like a story to them.

SPEAKER_03

It definitely has a theme and it definitely has uh has cool connections between songs and and uh we're definitely gonna be playing a lot of the new music live as well.

SPEAKER_01

Awesome. I cannot wait to see you guys now.

SPEAKER_03

Absolutely. Yeah, everyone, yeah. Anybody who please come and people who thought uh it's just a boy band, we're not. I promise we're a rock band and we do a really, really, really great show.

SPEAKER_01

I probably shouldn't have even brought that up. I'm I don't want to I don't want to perpetuate the stereotype.

SPEAKER_03

I I lived with it. I I'm trust me, I'm very aware it was, you know, that was how we were marketed. I I if I could go back in time, I would have changed that. But it's it's uh totally fine. I I understand completely. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Well, you guys will be at Five Jack. The show is Saturday, May 16th. I've marked my calendar. I will be there with all my rock and roll gear on, and I will be ready to rock out with you guys.

SPEAKER_03

Awesome, man. Thank you. I yeah, I can't wait to see everybody again. It's been a long time since we played in the States, and I can't wait to uh to see a lot of people. So it's gonna be great.

SPEAKER_01

And I'm looking forward to the new album as well. I'm a bit like I said, I'm a big fan of of albums, and so I can't wait to hear all the records.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, me too, man. I've been trying to put it out for 20 years.

SPEAKER_01

Well, now's the time. Alex, thank you so much for your time today.

SPEAKER_03

I really appreciate it. Thanks for having me on and you know supporting the show. I really appreciate it.

Broadway Season Quiz With Amanda

SPEAKER_01

Absolutely. We'll see you here on May 16th. Cool, man. Thank you, Amade. And finally, the FSTJ Artist Series Broadway and Jacksonville 2026-27 season was announced a few weeks ago, but right before it was, Amanda Scott from the Artist Series stopped by the studio to quiz me to see if I could guess the shows coming, and I did not do that well.

SPEAKER_00

So I thought we'd play a little game to see if you can guess which shows are coming in the 26-27 season. Okay. I'll give you one clue. They'll range in difficulty. If you know it, say it. If you don't, I'll give you another one.

SPEAKER_01

I feel like I'm gonna be embarrassed by this.

SPEAKER_00

No, you ready to test your knowledge?

SPEAKER_01

I'm ready.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. American history.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, that's gotta be Hamilton.

SPEAKER_00

Hamilton. Hamilton's coming back. Oh, wow.

SPEAKER_01

You know I've never seen that.

SPEAKER_00

Oh at all. For real? You've never seen it? Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Not even on Disney Plus.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, well, then don't see it yet because you'll see it live.

SPEAKER_01

Right, right. Perfect. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

It's the revolutionary story of passion, unstoppable ambition, and the dawn of a new nation. We're so excited for the return of Hamilton in the 26-27 season after.

SPEAKER_01

How did you guys get it back so quickly?

SPEAKER_00

Wasn't it just here like two years ago? Well, it's really our subscriber base. Okay. You know, the the hot shows that are on Broadway and and touring. So we're really, really excited.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

All right. So the next one, Mountains.

SPEAKER_01

Mountains. Oh my gosh. Uh is it like Appalachian? Do Re Me. Oh, the sound of music.

SPEAKER_00

The sound of music.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, there's another one I've never seen on stage. Yeah. Of course I've seen the movie a dozen times. Sure. Wow, that's cool.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, the revival um uh opened up two years ago, uh 2024. Okay. And it's just open to rave reviews. The the critics have hailed it as one of the most beautiful productions of a classic running currently, and it feels fresh and new.

SPEAKER_01

If you had said the hills instead of the mountains, uh-huh, I would have been like, the hills are alive.

SPEAKER_00

That's literally exactly what I thought of the entire time that Moulin Rouge was playing. I'm like, yep, sound of music is coming. This is like a clue. I wonder if the subscribers are gonna get it.

SPEAKER_01

That's awesome.

SPEAKER_00

All right, next one. Home.

SPEAKER_01

Home. Home. Is there a second clue?

SPEAKER_00

Toto.

SPEAKER_01

The Wizard of Oz?

SPEAKER_00

He's on down the road.

SPEAKER_01

No way. The whiz the whiz. Literally, you have no idea. Because the whiz played on Broadway for about a year, a couple years ago. Yeah. I really, really wanted to get up and see that, and I missed it. Are you kidding me right now?

SPEAKER_00

I'm so excited.

SPEAKER_01

I'm more excited about that than anything you've said so far. Holy snikkies, I love the whiz.

SPEAKER_00

Yes.

SPEAKER_01

That soundtrack is so amazing.

SPEAKER_00

Yes. I mean, it's just been uh uh something that so many people have uh clinged on to immediately, and it just through the generations um continues to inspire.

SPEAKER_01

You know, that was back in theaters last year for one week, for one week only. Yeah, and I went opening night because a lot of people may not know that Quincy Jones produced the soundtrack and the movie. Uh Michael Jackson, of course, played the Scarecrow. Nipsey Russell was the Tin Man. Uh I forget the guy's name, I think it's Bruce Ross who played The Cowardly Lion, who was a Broadway star. And of course, Diana Ross. Are you kidding me? What an amazing, amazing show. I cannot wait for that.

SPEAKER_00

I was so excited. I am too. And something really cool about this show, they brought in some all-star creative um creatives to work on it. So uh Hannah Beakler, who is known for her work on The Black Panther and Black is King, is the set designer. And the choreographer is Jaquel Knight, who is also known for his work on Beyonce's single lady.

SPEAKER_01

Wow. Oh my gosh. Wow, that's a great show. Amanda, you just made my day.

SPEAKER_00

Yay! I'm so excited.

SPEAKER_01

Me too.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, next one. Sherry.

SPEAKER_01

Sherry. Oh, uh uh is it Oh, I can't think of his name.

SPEAKER_00

Wait.

SPEAKER_01

Or their name. Yeah, the four tops? No, no, no, no, no. The four seasons.

SPEAKER_00

Jersey Boy. Jersey Boy. Yes, based on the story. Of Frankie Valley and the four seasons.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, that's awesome.

SPEAKER_00

So excited. I mean, these are all best musicals so far, if you haven't already.

SPEAKER_01

So they're all Tony Award winnings?

SPEAKER_00

Tony Award Best Musicals, yes. Nice.

SPEAKER_01

That's another show I have never seen.

SPEAKER_00

No way.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, believe it or not.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my gosh. I've seen it four times and I I cannot wait to see it again. Like I'm already dreaming of the harmonies and pulsettos.

SPEAKER_01

From what I understand from that show, again I haven't seen it, but it's a kind of parallel to the Carol King. Yes. Um is it called Beautiful?

SPEAKER_00

Yes.

SPEAKER_01

With just the nostalgia and the number of like massive, massive hits that you'll hear.

SPEAKER_00

Right, yes. This one, Jersey Boys, A Beautiful Noise, and Carol King are all done right. Okay, cool.

SPEAKER_01

I can't wait.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Oh, I'm so excited. Okay. Very last one. Tulsa.

SPEAKER_01

I feel like I should know that one for sure. All I can think of is Hansen, because they're from there.

SPEAKER_00

Jamestown Revival.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

Soda Pop.

SPEAKER_01

You have stumped me.

SPEAKER_00

Greaser.

SPEAKER_01

Wait, is it Grease?

SPEAKER_00

Stay Gold.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, wait, don't say the name of it because I know it's the Pony Boy, and uh I can't think of the name of it.

SPEAKER_00

You got it, you got it. The Outsiders. The Outsiders. Whoa! The outsiders.

SPEAKER_01

Amanda.

SPEAKER_00

What? 26-27 season is the best lineup that we've had in some time. It's, like I said, full of best musicals. This one in particular, I've listened to the soundtrack on repeat for the last two years since seeing the show on Broadway. Wow. I cannot wait for you to see it.

SPEAKER_01

Another one like The Whiz that's well, it's still playing on Broadway and has been for several years. I was up there a couple of years ago, saw a couple of shows. That was kind of on my radar, but it didn't go. So pumped that it's coming to town.

SPEAKER_00

Yes.

SPEAKER_01

Wow.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, there's so many people that have such a strong tie to this show. Based on the novel, SC Hinton's novel. Uh that's a major component in the academic curriculum through the years and currently I have such a personal tie to it myself. One of the most memorable things from being in school. Yeah, absolutely. You know, it's stays relevant through the generations for its themes and class, uh, class conflicts, friendship and identity. And not only that, but the music by Jamestown Revival and Justin Levine is just raw energy and emotional grit. It's a blend of folk and rock and Americana. It's really gonna be something that the the audience has uh never seen before.

SPEAKER_01

I actually don't know that soundtrack, but I will definitely start listening to it. It's funny, like The Whiz, I saw uh The Outsiders last year in on the big screen, and I I had never seen it in the theaters, even though I was around when it came out when I was younger. I just didn't go see that one for some reason. And I think I only saw it once, like on video, like way, way back when.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So I went and saw it on the big screen and loved it. Kind of forgot how, you know, how um iconic it is and just thoroughly loved it, and then yeah, didn't get to see it on Broadway, so I'm pumped about that.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, I'm so excited.

SPEAKER_01

This is perhaps the best lineup you guys have ever had, like show for show.

SPEAKER_00

Right, right.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, it's amazing.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. You can beat five best musicals.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. You know the dates for everything already? Yes. What do we have? What do we have for the dates?

SPEAKER_00

So Hamilton kicks off the season in December. That's December 1st through the 13th.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. And then nice little Christmas present for someone.

SPEAKER_00

Exactly. One of our favorite things, the sound of music, comes in January.

SPEAKER_01

One of our favorite things. I see what you did there. You're like Oprah.

SPEAKER_00

January 26th through the 31st.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

And the whiz is easy known down the road in February. February 16th through the 21st.

SPEAKER_01

I cannot wait for the whiz.

SPEAKER_00

Gotta keep it theatrical, right?

SPEAKER_01

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

Uh, and Jersey Boys is coming April 9th through the 11th.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, so we're skipping March.

SPEAKER_00

We're skipping March, yes. And and just a note there, Jersey Boys is a shorter, shorter run. So we're gonna get our subscribers in. Um, and single-ticket purchasers, you you're gonna want to get on that one. What is that?

SPEAKER_01

A Thursday through Sunday?

SPEAKER_00

Uh I believe it is. Okay. Uh don't quote me on that.

SPEAKER_01

I probably shouldn't put you on the spot with that, but it is a shorter run. It is a shorter run.

SPEAKER_00

And then the outsiders, May 18th through the 23rd. English teachers all around Jacksonville are gonna rejoice on that one.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that is going to be amazing. Wow. I am really, really excited for this entire lineup.

SPEAKER_00

Me too. I'm so excited.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. I think I've asked you this before. Did you ever see Aida? Oh, of course. That's the show that I wish they would bring back. I know for some reason it kind of like fell by the wayside.

SPEAKER_00

I know. Me, me too. I mean, the stars are written, or what is the song? Uh, Written in the Stars. Yeah. Love it.

SPEAKER_01

I think I saw that three times. I even went to Orlando because my mom lives down near Orlando because I wanted her to see it. And we went and saw it down there, and I thought this should be a movie. Yeah, and nothing ever happened with it.

SPEAKER_00

Is it really not a movie?

SPEAKER_01

It's not that I know of. Yeah. But it's such a classic Romeo and Juliet West Side story, like that, you know, that tale of, you know, the wrong side of the tracks. Like it's so classic, but done so well. And it's the Elton John music. And was it Tim Rice as well? Yes. Yeah, Elton John and Tim Rice.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I would love to see. If that's ever touring again, I would like to put in a little vote for that one.

SPEAKER_00

I know, me too. You know, it was funny because before I found out what the 26-27 season was, I was thinking, it's been a while since Jersey Voice has come back. I I really love that show. I wanted to come back, and then I found out. So putting it in the universe. Yeah, you're just putting it out there. I eat it.

SPEAKER_01

That would be amazing. But for some reason, I think that show has has seen its days.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know why. Well, that is an amazing lineup. Uh, and what do we have left coming up this year still?

SPEAKER_00

Beetlejuice, May 12th through the 17th.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so yeah, it's been an incredible year and an amazing year coming.

SPEAKER_00

Yes.

SPEAKER_01

You guys must be so excited.

SPEAKER_00

We're so excited. Uh it's just the best of Broadway, and all of Jacksonville is gonna love it.

SPEAKER_01

What else do you have coming up as far as the FSCG Artist Series or Broadway and Jacksonville that you want to mention?

SPEAKER_00

We did just recently announce that Outlander will be coming soon. That one is not yet on a on sale, but it will be uh the end of April, so pretty soon.

SPEAKER_01

And I always look forward to whatever's coming for Christmas because there's always a lot of great Christmas shows that come to town.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, oh yeah. We always have a ton of Christmas shows, so we're excited.

SPEAKER_01

And Jacksonville Center for the Performing Arts is such a great venue with all the different theaters. Um, but yeah, I just love it all.

SPEAKER_00

It is. All everybody that comes through it, the touring uh company, production managers, they always compliment the Jacksonville Center for the Performing Arts. It's one of their favorites.

SPEAKER_01

It's one of the best in the country. Yes. And you guys are an amazing job. Well, Amanda, I'm so pumped. Fscjartistseries.org. By the time this drops, all of that will be available. Make sure you don't forget Jersey Boys is a shorter run, so get your tickets early for that. And it's gonna be a great season.

SPEAKER_00

It's gonna be fantastic. Thank you so much for having me.

Wrap Up And Next Guests Tease

SPEAKER_01

Thank you for coming in. I appreciate it. Of course. All right, that wraps up another episode of Live from Jacksonville. I'm working on a couple of really cool guests for the next episode. That'll be out in a few weeks, and I'll let you know what's happening live from Jacksonville.
