2NDGENders Podcast
The 2NDGENders podcast is a living archive by and for BIPOC, trans and gender diverse second generation migrants. Join me in conversation as we talk, cry, laugh, and create space for the questions and stories our experiences of gender, family, culture, and belonging have brought us. Centering contemplative storytelling about our lives and experiences, the role of 2NDGENders is to spark conversations that explore our experiences of identity formation through the many worlds we traverse and the spaces we embody between them.

Join Laurie and J’oseph as they chat about the possibility of self as an offering to family, friendships as portals to love, and what a return to ancestral land feels like in the wake of generational displacement.
Liberian by way of Minneapolis, J’oseph Capehart is a poet and educator committed to pushing the needle where they can and flipping the table where they must. Black, queer, and concerned with freedom, they teach 7th-grade students in Brooklyn and nurture The Garden Abolitionist Bookstore & Community Well with their neighbors.
