Music, Hello and welcome. This is self love stories with Jesse and Zayas, and today we will be going on a little journey for the New Moon in Virgo. So for today, I will share themes of this new moon, how to work with it, and how this can support your self, love, practice and journey. So let's go ahead and get started. I know this Moon's archetype very intimately, having grown up with a Virgo mother. So we are in Virgo season. Welcome. You might be feeling that gotta get my shit together, maybe feeling drawn to getting more of a routine, more of a plan in place, but we're in it. We're in Virgo season. We're in this end of summer, bit about to start fall, and so in this in between moment of the end of summer and the beginning of fall, we're just feeling this for lack of a better expression, like this tension of that summer and fall, that summer spontaneity, having things very free and abundant and, you know, just kind of, you know, plans on hold, right? Or plans for no plans. And then we're moving into this fall season where we're reaping the harvest of summer, where we're starting to be more mindful of the future season of winter being that next cycle. So we're becoming a little bit more mindful. We're becoming a little bit more practical during this time. And so the themes of Virgo, and specifically the themes of this Virgo New Moon is you might be feeling some maybe perfectionism. You might be feeling some enthusiasm to learn. Virgo loves to learn. It's a lifelong learner. It loves to grow its wisdom and knowledge. It is also very practical. When we think about all the 12 astrological signs, Virgo, we would determine and say that it's a very practical sign, it's an earth sign, it's a very grounded sign. And so Virgo loves a practical plan. And so you might be drawn to what is that practical plan for my life? How am I creating that plan is also very nurturing. It's a very nurturing sign because of the archetype Virgo, the virgin mother goddess, there is this inherent motherly nurturing energy around it. So you might be feeling a little bit of that nurturing energy at this time as well. And so with this specific new moon, you might be feeling a lot of different emotions. And specific emotions are maybe emotions around not enoughness. So the Virgo New Moon. And if we take a quick step back, and if we remember the differences between New Moon and full moon, new moon, right, if we look up in the sky, we're going to see darkness in the sky, because the sun is clearly creating a new slate on that beautiful moon surface for us. So when we look up, there is nothing there. We don't see any anything in the moon. Aka perfect time for planting seeds, to making new intentions, to starting new beginnings. It's like, literally, the universe clearing off the slate, clearing the board, and saying, we can start new and fresh. We're full moon. We're seeing the illumination, right? We're seeing the brilliance and the luminosity of the full moon and the light. And so it shows us the shadows. It shows us what still needs to be released, maybe things that are still hidden for us to discover and work with. So taking a step back this new moon, and during New Moon times, and mind you, I even felt this so strongly with this new moon. Felt very tired. I felt very I already was starting to be present of my inner critic showing up very critical. Could feel my perfectionism really creep in as well. And even as I'm recording this podcast, I could even tell I was avoiding recording this podcast because I wanted to get it right. I wanted to get it perfect. And so I was. Feeling those themes of perfectionism, the feeling those themes of like over planning, over analyzing, come up. And I share that because that's what Virgo does during this new moon. That is part of its that's part of its energy. It's the energy of criticism, the energy of perfectionism, the energy of not enoughness. And you know, I share this because we might look at it as a quote, unquote shadow of Virgo, but what I would love to look at it as is that Virgo is like bringing that stuff up for us. It's like stirring that pot up for us at this time so that we can take advantage of this new moon to plant the seeds in which we need to plant in order to finally rid us of what is creating, that imposter syndrome, of what is creating, that inner critic voice of what is creating this need to be perfect, and this need to want to get it right. And so the trick of this new moon is not to get over consumed with these emotions, but to allow these emotions to be the guideposts, the signposts of what there still needs to be learned about you, what still needs to be healed with you in terms of your inner critic, in terms of perfectionism, in terms of not enoughness. And so if we go back to the inner critic, we also know that Virgo is ruled by Mercury, and Mercury is the planet of communication. So what that's showing us here is, can we also take another lens of how we're communicating with ourselves? Are we communicating with ourselves with compassion, with love, with empathy? Are we communicating with ourselves with criticism, with harshness, with an eye, with the lens of perfectionism too, with the lens of, you know, not enoughness, you know, with the lens of continuing to just be very harsh and critical on ourselves. And so this new moon time is inviting us to check in on that internal monolog, to check in on the ways that we're communicating to ourselves, and to check to check in on the ways that we're communicating with our loved ones, with people around us. You know, are we bringing in that compassion, empathy and understanding, or are we being hyper critical, you know? And this is the other thing, though, sometimes it's okay to be critical. It's the way that we go about the criticism, or showing, you know, the things that we are criticizing or pointing out that might not be in alignment or might be out of alignment. So that's the key for Virgo. It's like, it's okay that we have these feelings of perfectionism. It's okay that we have these feelings of not enoughness. It's okay that we have these feelings of, you know, of criticism. It's the way we go about it, it's the way we listen to it, and it's the way that we work with it, and we don't allow those things to control us and make it mean more than what it is. So to that point, the other theme that this Virgo New Moon brings is this kind of back to school vibe, and it's kind of twofold. One of the getting shit together, like, right? It's like we're going back to routines, back to a plan, back to a purpose. And so the Virgo New Moon is inviting us to get that plan back into place, to get those routines back into place, to get that structure back in place, to make the reality, to make those dreams that we want to live into the reality, into our day to day. But Virgo invites us to look at those practical foundation and building blogs to then, therefore live that dream, to actually create that dream in our life. So use this Virgo energy during this new moon to help you gain insight on those practical foundation blocks that are needed to quote, unquote, get your life on track or to create the life that you want to live, the second kind of the second back to school vibe of all this, and going back to the emotions, right? If you're feeling that inner critic, if you're feeling that not enoughness, if you're feeling that perfectionism, allow that to give you the insight and learning of what still needs to be healed. And then what can. Learn, what new knowledge, what new insight, what new program, what new again, it's in this theme of learning. Can you learn to heal that right? And to give me an example of this, you know, when I started realizing my you know, my inner critic for the longest time really sounded just like a very kind drill sergeant. And even as I say that, I'm kind of like looking at everybody else, like, Do you get what I say by this? But, or, do you, do you get what I'm what I mean by this? And, you know, again, on a personal note, you know, I grew up in a military family, and so there was times that the critical parent, right? Literally, my parents, the way that they would communicate to me was in a very light, critical, but like, compassionate drill sergeant kind of way. It was like, You got this, you know, don't let anybody, you know, put you down. And, you know, don't let anybody plant those negative seeds in your mind. And you know, don't let anybody tell you what you can't do in life. You got this, you know, push harder, you know, you know, go more. You know, toughen up and again, said sometimes with so much love and so much like, again, like didn't want me to fail and wanted me to see my greatness. But a lot of times, that inner voice put a lot of unnecessary pressure on me, right? So times where I did need a rest, times where maybe, quote, unquote, giving up was actually the best route, right? But that inner critic, in that kind of that compassionate and drill sergeant, if you will, would just continue to tell me to keep going, keep going, keep going, keep going. And so the reason I share this is because, until I started learning and hearing that voice more and discerning that a lot of times as much as I thought it was helping me in life, and it did help me so much in my life, it also impacted things like my nervous system being regulated, my relationship to rest, my relationship to ease, my relationship to flow, my relationship to fun, my relationship to play. Those things were very on the on the fritz with that, with that inner critic and that inner dialog that I had, those things were viewed as bad, those things were viewed as scary, those things were viewed as lazy, those things were viewed in in ways that were not, quote, unquote productive in my life. And so the reason I share that is, I realized I needed some other help here. You know, coaching has been amazing, therapy has been amazing, but I needed, like, some more day to day help, like little, little practices and little practices that would keep me a little bit more accountable and incomes and I discover and through also, really just trying to also become a better coach for my clients, right? Because I see just as much as I'm facing these things my clients, facing these things of day to day, ways that they can practice with this inner critic, with this inner judge that they have. And I found this amazing program called the Positive Intelligence Program, and it's a mental fitness program. It's a neuroplasticity program, and it allows you to rewire your neural pathways. So now you're responding from a place of sage versus a place of saboteur. So so from a place of sage wisdom, right versus from a place of inner critic, or from a place of judgment or from a place of fear, is all what we're saying here. And so, to bring it full circle back to this new moon and Virgo and why I'm sharing that is like I had to hear that inner critic, I had to hear that inner Judge, I had to hear those voices, those emotions, feel them, to realize that that was still there. So same thing with the new moon, right? Allow those critical voices to show up. Allow that not enoughness to show up. And really listen to it, see if it can tell you more around why it's feeling or experiencing those things. And then how can you take that learning and insight and find something that might support that, that that actually might heal that for you? So for me, it was me listening to that inner critic, listening to that loud judge, the during those day to days, the days, and realizing I wanted a different way to be with that like, surely there's a different way to be with this. Surely there's a different voice that can take the majority of of of the real estate in my mind. And that's when I learned about mental fitness. That's when I learned about neuroscience more. That's when I learned more about neuroplasticity, and that's when I learned that there were these amazing, small, practical tools that would allow me to really quiet that inner critic to really quiet. Right that inner judge and to allow more of that sage voice to show up in my mind. And so that's an example of how you can use this time to really hear what those inner critic, those inner judge voices are saying, and then use that insight to find something that might support you with that so you no longer have to hear that voice in that way you and now I'll leave you with the last two themes that I think are really important with this Virgo New Moon. And the last two themes are one there's like this feeling of there's so much to do, but I don't know how or what, and so allow this Virgo New Moon to help you distill all of that. Allow it to help you understand what is really important and what really needs to be addressed. Which leads me to the last point. Don't allow perfectionism so to get it right, to get it perfect right. There's so much to do, and I don't know how or what to how it's going to get done, or what all needs to get done. Don't allow the perfectionism to continue to stop you from getting that clarity right. Perfectionism, a lot of times getting it right, right? That's the perfectionism. There's a right way and there's a wrong way. And as we and as we're all, I hope learning now in this lifetime, is there are multiple rights and there are multiple wrongs, which means there is no right, there is no wrong, there is just a way, and us just learning from those ways. And so perfectionism, a lot of times, tells us that there is a way, and there's a complete right way, and there's a perfect way of doing something. If we don't know that way, we end up avoiding those things, or we end up stuck, stuck, or stop. And what I mean by that is that if there's, you know, a certain thing that we're doing and we can't do it a perfect way, we stop it, or we get stuck and we don't continue to move along the journey, move along the process. And why that's so important for us to be aware of, especially during this new moon time, is just that don't allow the perfectionism to stop you from making these new intentions, for making these new plans, for setting these new goals. Allow the perfectionism to be again, another guidepost signpost for you of maybe what more needs to be supported here, healed here, and go back to school, right? What do you need to learn about this thing, about the perfectionism that can release you, that can free you so that you can live the life that you want to live. And so if I can distill this down into three ways to really work with this new moon is first and foremost presence, right? We're dealing with a lot of emotions. We're giving. We're getting the gift of all these emotions. So how can we be present during this new moon to really feel into those feelings, and feel into those emotions so we can really learn, which leads me to that second theme of learning, right? Let's allow this presence to really get clear on what is coming up for us in this new moon. Allow Virgo to agitate you. Allow that not enoughness, that inner critic, to come out, and then get curious with it, learn about it more. And when you're able to learn more about what you're feeling, more about what you're experiencing, then you can learn even more around ways to help heal, support that as well. Also. Virgo is just a lifelong learner, so just check in. Are there any things that you're wanting to learn more about that would get me to the third theme, the plan. What's the plan? And maybe we need to learn a little something more to create that plan, or maybe we need to learn a little something more for us to continue to live out that plan. And so the last and final this plan, this planning phase. It's beautiful. It's both the new moon. Setting up that stage to make plans, to set new plans, to set new beginnings, to set new intentions. And then you're getting that beautiful Virgo energy that's all about practicality, making plans and making a realistic plan as well. So allow Virgo to give you that realistic energy to make those plans. You and I'll leave you, leave you with this little antidote. And we'll also talk about how this can support self love. And this is, this is probably also within it too, which is, you know, I mentioned earlier that I know this Virgo archetype very well, because my mother, I love you, Mom, I love you so much you're listening to this is all love. I also joke around that we also need, like, a support group for Virgo mothers as well. But I share all that because, as learning more about my mother, and also learning more about astrology and learning more about planets. And this, these planetary cycles and these beautiful archetypes that we've been told over centuries. Right The Virgo, my mother always has a plan for a plan, for a plan, and they're very grounded and very realistic plans. And I think I actually mentioned this in some of my there's an old podcast episode around my relationship to money, and a lot of my mom's, you know, planning kind of shifted and shaped my relationship to money. The more I sit with that, and the more I actually sit with this new moon and Virgo theme. You know, there's this energy of Virgo wanting you to plan and making this master plan, because they also know when you plan things, you're setting things up for the universe, and to help you take it to the finish line. So without you having a plan, the universe is like, I don't know what the fuck you want to do. So it's saying, Well, hey, can you make this plan so the universe can co conspire for it with you? And that was the aha moment with my mother. And now kind of taking this as a new lens. It's not that my mother was coming in with this plan of over controlling, because the other beautiful thing about my mother is she also knows that fucking life is unpredictable. She was just making the plan to have some sense of quote, unquote, control and some sense of plan to then let the universe know, hey, if this thing does end up showing up, look, I got a plan, and how can you help me with it? And I think that's the key there. It's not to get lost in the plan. It's not to get over consumed by the plan. It's not to allow the perfectionism and the inner critic start, you know, drilling down into the plan. It's allowing that enthusiasm that Virgo also brings with making plans, so that the universe can co conspire with you, and I think that's the energy. It's like, how are you stacking up the pins so that the universe can lay a strike down for you? Right? So I'm using a terrible bowling analogy here, but you know, just work with me here, right? It's like, if you're not setting up those pins, then there's no way that that ball is going to be able to hit anything, that that ball is not able to be be able to strike anything. And we're we're not in control of who's throwing that ball and who's, you know, or what direction that ball is moving, but what we can control is the resetting of the pins and stacking back up the pins. And I think that's what I realized as I've been really sitting with this energy of this Virgo New Moon is allow and welcome in the energy of planning, but also don't allow the perfectionism and the inner critic to belittle your plans, allow it to maybe show light of maybe how you can enhance it, maybe ways that you can shift it and shape it, but also know that you don't gotta do it yourself, that you're just stacking up those pins. You're setting up the pins so that the universe can help you lay that awesome strike when that time will happen, all right? And the last thing I will leave you with is from a self love perspective, you know, as you can hear in this new moon, right, with the inner critic, with the perfectionism, with the not enoughness that might come up, how are you really giving yourself a lot of compassion and grace during this time when we usually hear these inner critics, when we usually hear the not enoughness, it's maybe a pinging from our heart. It's maybe a pinging from a place of desire. It's maybe pinging from a place of a genuine a genuine want. But sometimes we don't feel like we can get the things that we want, or we don't feel like we're enough to get those things. So how can you be working with your enoughness? How can you be working with your compassion and your grace, and how can you be reminding yourself that your presence is more than enough for you for this world and for this lifetime? So. I will leave you with some affirmations. If you're part of my newsletter, you will get some bonus affirmations to work with the New Moon in Virgo. And also you'll get some more information on this amazing program that I have coming up called mindset magic, which will actually fuse in some of this mental fitness that I was talking about with some somatic practices over a seven week journey. It's going to be a very intimate group coaching container. So we'll go on a seven week journey together. Well, we will literally rewire our neural pathways to come from a place of sage versus saboteur, and to also work with this somatically. So our body really feels the mental changes as well. If this sounds like something you're interested in, I will link it in the show notes below. But with all that being said, give yourself so much grace, give yourself so much compassion. Know that this new moon is also going to be over the next two or three nights, right? So don't feel like you got to overload yourself. I know you might be feeling tired during this time, and that's absolutely what is also part of the new moon, is to feel, you know, moments of, maybe, of a lot of emotion, of a lot of sleepiness, right? A lot of the word is escaping me, just, you know, feeling tired, so honor that rest. Please relax and again. Don't allow the perfectionism to stop you from making the plan. So you can make your plan in your cozy bed, or you can make your plans at night. You can plan, make your plans tomorrow. Don't allow that perfectionism to stop you from creating the life that you want to live. Just remember you are one thought, one belief, from living your dream life. All right, sending you so many blessings, sending you so much love, Happy New Moon and Virgo and we'll talk soon. Thank.
