Speaker 1:

Coming up on the Real Ones Reserve podcast, we'll be talking about the topic breakout season. You don't wanna miss this one, baby. Let's go. Whoa. Now it's your boy md, the veteran, and welcome to the Real Ones Reserve Podcast. We talk about real things that need to be talked about. Disclaimer, I'm not a licensed psychologist, therapists, psychiatrist, counselor, or type of behavioral health expert. These are only my thoughts and ideas. Would that be said? If you listen, do so with a open mind. Let's, Yo, what's up everybody? It's your boy, It's your host, MD, the veteran, and welcome back to the Real Ones Reserve podcast while we talk about mental health, inspiration and motivation. I hope everybody's doing okay on today. Uh, I hope you out of the bed moving around, got your feet on the ground, uh, trying to get your energy right, getting your day started. Or maybe you just about done depending on where you at in the world. Hey, this is the Real One's Reserve podcast. Hey, we're optimistic but realistic. So if that's cool to you and you feel like you're rocking with that, hey, keep on listening and get ready for today's episode. So I hear somebody pondering, Hmm, MD what do you mean by breakout season? So check it out. In sports, we can often identify with certain individuals, uh, having a breakout season, we could say, This person and that person have been training extremely hard. You've been following that person closely. You've been on their, uh, social media handles and you've been checking them out. They've been in the gym, uh, they've been eating right, They've been preparing. So you as a viewer or a fan of the sport or whatever, you're putting that all together and you're like, Man, they going to have a breakout season. Matter of fact, they not just going to have a breakout season, they're going to have a MVP type season. So not only are you expecting them to do really well, you're expecting them to perform superbly, you're expecting them to do things they've never done in their career. You're expecting them to receive accolades, You're expecting them to just supersede their previous efforts. Now, maybe that's wishful thinking. Maybe that's, uh, hopeful thinking, whatever you wanna call it. Or maybe you have a very strategic approach. Um, while you're guessing these things, while you've formed this opinion that you have, let's dive a little deeper into that, right? We're expecting this person to produce, to have a monster season to put up extraordinary numbers, right? We even bet money on this. We put hundreds of dollars, thousands of dollars on these players and these coaches to perform, right? We invest in top dollar into these betting platforms, right? But oftentimes we won't invest in ourselves that same way. We won't bet money on ourselves. We won't invest into our own dreams and beliefs, but we are quick to put our money on other people. Why is that? Do we see that there are more driven than we are? Do we see that they potentially have a better plan, a better product, a better service, a better skill set, more educated? What is it that would make us invest in others and believe in others over ourselves? Or is it because we lack self confidence? We don't have a positive image of ourselves, or we are still believing the lies that we were told by someone. We don't have a great picture of ourselves in our mental space. So we need to do some correcting. We need to do some soul searching. We need to do some verifying, uh, within ourselves. Gotta check our own systems. We gotta check our own background and get rid of the things that are harmful to our dreams. Be mindful of what you're feeding yourself, man, because even I at times struggle with this. It's like these negative thoughts try to slip into your head and have you thinking that you're not smart enough, you're not good enough, and it's a whole bunch of lies. So you have to just constantly, uh, filter these things out. Otherwise they will start to linger. And you know, our minds are very creative. You can start believing some of these things about yourself and they will eat away at you. So just be mindful and get these things outta your head. You, it is not gonna be easy. But as a living witness, you can do it. You can get all of these negative thoughts out your head. You just gotta keep fighting them every day, all day. Take it a day at a time. Like for example, um, when I was a kid, I had a teacher embarrassed the hell outta me, uh, when I was working out a problem at the board and whoever's in my class they might remember this or, uh, may not. And he told me, he was like, He made me work out this, uh, multipl multiplication table, uh, problem. But I didn't know my multiples like that. And he's like, Boy, you don't know your multiplication tables. And you know, some people laugh, some people uh, didn't, you know, but it made me feel like. And right there, that is a lasting memory for me because that created self doubt. And you know, shoot, that was many years ago. But I still think about that sometimes and that makes me work harder when I think about that, uh, situation or that memory pops up in my head to try to create doubt in my mind. But, you know, I've gotten much stronger since then. But those are the things that come about to try to distract you, to make you feel like you know you. You're less than. But I'm here to tell you that you're capable of a breakout season. You have experience, you have wisdom. You have strength. You develop yourself your whole life. So that's useful. That's a useful resource to think about at times where you're facing challenges, you have those experiences to be like, Hey, I overcame this once before. So you just use what you use the first time or the second time. You have to believe you have what it takes for your breakout season. The most important part of it is the belief. Just like you believe that others are going to have a breakout season, you need to believe that about yourself and not only believe it, you have to work towards it. Now, I believe that's where the problem comes in for people. They aren't willing to do the work. That's sad because they're willing to bet their money on someone else because they know that person is a workhorse, but they can't work hard for themselves and achieve their own breakout season. They don't see themselves as the jackpot. They don't see themselves with any type of positive value. So what are you telling yourself? What are the things that you're feeding yourself about yourself? What are the beliefs that are within? Hmm. I tell people all the time, I had to work extremely hard on my confidence. I wasn't always a confident person. If anything, I used to be depressed because I couldn't believe great things about myself. But now since I've fixed that and I've learned to fix my thinking, a it's all Gucci. So believe in yourself because you're entitled to a breakout season. I believe in you. If you need somebody to believe in you. I believe everybody could do whatever they put their mind to. And if they have a plan, hey, anything is achievable. And that's not fluff. That's not no. That's truth. Anybody that works hard, they could reach some type of level of success. Wrapping up today's show, uh, again, have a breakout season. Everyone is capable of having a breakout season. Those same beliefs that you have in others, having yourself. I really hope y'all learn something on today. I hope you feel inspired and motivated to start your day or end your day and start another day.<laugh>, whatever.
