What is happening everybody it's your boy! your host!  MDEE The veteran it's been quite some time since I recorded the last episode of the show but if you're a first time guests welcome so again welcome to our previous guests y'all know what it's about over here we appreciate trying to maintain an optimistic mindset as far as life you know just trying to make it day-to-day to day while thinking the best about the day your circumstances and whatnot now as you all can tell I'm a little sick but I feel like I needed to come on today and address this very important topic of suicide you know and I've personally dealt with you know thoughts about it never really acting on it but I've definitely thought about suicide several times or maybe even more times than that but I want to share with you guys some well like a basic fundamental that I've learned to help me get those negative thoughts out of my head whenever they you know rush in you know because it's like definitely a rush of emotions I learned in my own counseling sessions that it's called flooding like when you have a rush of emotions and you just overwhelmed and don't feel really good about the situation you're flooding you're being flooded so I just want to share with you guys how I personally make it pass very deep dark challenging experiences that I face so number one is just trying to stay busy you know make up for that time that you have like all that time to think about whatever you're going through you need to stay busy you need to stay engaged with something so if you have any passions or hobbies I would say concentrate on those make goals and work towards them so if you're a person like me you do music or you may have a podcast or you may like to lift weights or you may like to play basketball or football right or read just get heavy into those things because you're going to need to stay busy if you're a workaholic you're just going to work yourself to death until well I didn't mean to say death but y'all get what I'm saying until you get past that season that's so challenging to you know and so yeah that's #1 #2 is just making sure that you stay connected and I have problems with this myself because I don't always like being bothered by anybody while I'm going through stuff you know I just try to remove myself from the situation remove myself from everyone because I don't feel like talking to nobody you know I don't feel like being bothered or putting up a fake front you know I just want to be left alone but I would say you need to stay connected to those friends that truly love you care about you your family that definitely loves you know you need to stay connected to them and make a valid effort suggest make sure they know that you're OK and be real about when you're not feeling good you know me and a friend were talking about that they at the gym and he knows who he is and it's like you know we believe in you know the spirits the Holy Spirit and stuff like that and you got to acknowledge you know how you feel in your own body you know it's like hey man it's not feeling too good in here today but we're here you know so you just have to acknowledge how you truly feel while you're going through things hold on guys we're getting a call I'm back guys sorry about that I had got a call a weird call all the weird because I answered like three times and it's like a playback for an appointment and I was supposed to have but any who ah yeah this thing suicide is no joke you know if you're blessed enough to never have these negative thoughts come across your mind hey be glad be glad you don't think about you know end of your life or just have these negative ugly thoughts pop up ahead that you would be better off dead or you know excuse me you don't have the strength to go on you know everything just it's overwhelming you at the moment you know it's not fun and do something about how you're feeling if you know you're not feeling you're happiest make sure you get some counseling whether it's you know someone you hire off to the side or some counseling through you your church if you go to church and take medication if you have to take medication if you have some demons that don't ever leave you and just torment you all the time maybe that's an indicator that you need some medication you know and nothing's wrong with taking medication I don't know why there's this stigma around people or stigma out there that people that take medication they're weak or they're crazy no you taking your medication is taking responsibility for the hand you were dealt you know some of this stuff is in your DNA you can't do nothing about that you were born with that so if you already have that trace in you and you know you go through some things in life and you know you find out later that you you're struggling with this hey man go get some help don't be too proud to be like oh everybody's going to think this about me um just this is just me like I would much rather feel better inside my own body than to worry about what everybody else thinks of me I don't give a crap that everybody knows I take medication So what So what it doesn't matter because the type of people that I personally want in my life are those that accept me that accept that I'm damaged that I'm just a number of things um but me personally I know that I'm trying to do my best to take care of my mental health and to be the best version of myself that I can be so if that's enough for my friends my loved ones you know yes that's definitely enough for me you know and France supporting France I have to tell you all this do not make the statement oh is that all you're going through because everyone's situation may be huge to them it may be freaking huge to them and you saying that could possibly be the final thing yeah allows them to feel shit about themselves and freaking commit suicide so don't say hey man that's all you're going through bro I got this this and that there's no preparing because everybody's threshold is different you know everybody can't handle a handle the same level of pressure you know it's just like going to the gym squat 225 I'm a big dude so that's normal to me let somebody else try to squat 225 they are going to freaking fall to the ground so they don't compare comparing this one of the worst things you could do just be supportive listen and add some value if you've been through something and you could possibly help your friends suggest it don't see don't suggest it like a professional though just be like hey man have you thought about this you know not oh man you should have did this a long time ago like there already have enough negative thoughts going on in their head so just be supportive listen if you don't even if you don't have any input just listen man so they could vent they could let it out and they could live to fight another day wrapping up today's show I hope it provided some value to you guys I hope it opened your eyes in regards to certain things certain aspects of what someone may be going through that you never thought about just make sure that you're staying engaged with that friend not too much because it becomes a little annoying at some point but please make sure that you're checking on your friends your family and if you guys have any questions please email me at realonesreservedllc@gmail.com I can send you whatever resources that you may need and I hope you all have a great day and that you learn something it’s your boy the veteran so who you think you're better than!!
