Ever wondered about the monumental difference a simple act of kindness can make in someone's life? That's what we're unpacking in today's heart-to-heart on the Real Ones Reserve podcast. Your host, indeed a veteran, brings personal tales from the frontline of life, illuminating how the smallest gestures can send waves of positive change rippling through the universe. It's not about grand heroics; it's about everyday acts—those moments of reassurance, a spontaneous compliment, or just a listening ear—that can pivot the course of someone's day, or even their destiny.

This episode is a celebration of the human spirit, a testament to our capacity to uplift each other with nothing but our presence and our words. I share candidly from my military service, hoping to have left a trail of positivity in my wake, and encourage you to find that one person you can impact today. It's a call to action to become beacons of light, to channel our energies into creating a better world, one person at a time. No experts, no pretense—just raw, unfiltered conversation about the profound power of human connection. Join me and let's embark on a journey to transform our collective reality, one act of kindness at a time.

Whoa ? Nah , it's your boy , indeed a veteran , and welcome to the Real Ones Reserve podcast . But we talk about real things that need to be talked about . Disclaimer I'm not a licensed psychologist . Therapists , psychiatrists , counselors Are any type of behavioral health expert . These are only my thoughts and ideas , but , that being said , if you care to listen , do so with an open mind . Let's go . What is up everybody ? It's your boy , indeed a veteran , profit MD , whatever you want to call me , man , and today I want to talk to you all about Affecting one life , and I think that's pretty doable for all of us to be able to do .

Speaker 1

Affect one person , man . If you have kids , you're definitely doing that already . If you think you are or not , you're definitely doing that , and what I mean is man . So , times throughout the day , we get busy , busy , busy , busy everybody's busy , but we don't know the difference or the impact we can make when we take the time out and talk to that one person . I don't know how many times I've been that person when I need to be told something . Maybe I look handsome or I look buff , or whatever .

Speaker 1

People need compliments Sometimes . We all need reassurance , or reassurance of things being okay with us , or reassurance that things are okay in life . That's just like whenever someone is putting a safe Position after being in danger , that's what somebody keeps telling them hey , you're okay , you're safe , you're safe . That reassurance , that taking the time out , taking the time necessary to tell that person , hey , you're okay , it's up there , man . It's such a selfless act . And when we start doing things that are selfless , I think that's when we start getting to the meat and potatoes Of changing this whole world . Man , and it's just a natural thing for me to do Is just speak to people or take a moment and open the door for somebody , or you see somebody down , you try to pick them up .

Speaker 1

I'm not saying you should save everybody , but affect one life , man , and I try to do that every day . I'm not gonna say I feel my greatest every day To where I'm like let me save the world , but we can start with one to two people . Everybody got one to two people in them and I was fortunate during my time in the military To affect a lot of people and I hope and I believe it's more positive than negative , because people still reach out to me , man , people still love me from the military and I was just genuine with them . You know , and I think that's important for all of us to do , just be genuine man , be a good human being , try to save one person , try to affect one person each day . Man , you never know how that could change the trajectory of their day , their life . Maybe they on that edge and don't feel well and they thinking about hurting themselves . You never know those positive words of affirmation . It goes a long way , like hey , my brother , you looking good today . Bro , ain't nothing wrong with complimenting your brother , ain't nothing gay about that ? As gay , to think that's gay , you know it's normal man . Be like bro , you looking fit today , or your sister or whoever . You know what I'm saying . Like we all can be that beacon of light for one another , and that's what I try to do .

Speaker 1

One of my good friends from San Marcos gym you know who you are she gave me a light bulb . It says let your light shine , and it had a . I forget what Bible verse it was , but it meant a lot to me . Where I put that thing in , I do not know , but it meant a lot to me that she gave me that one specific thing , cause she saw me always moving around trying to give people hope and motivate them and just give them a good burst of energy . I noted that man and I'm gonna remember that for the rest of my life and hopefully she's tuning in and her and her wonderful fiancee I hope by now just a great couple and they talk to me . They change how I view things . A young couple being in love like that man I'm like , wow , I love that .

Speaker 1

But always try to be that beacon of light and just know that you potentially saving an activist or some type of person that is a genius . You know every life holds value , you know , and it's just so important that people know that other people care . You know I care . You know I might not be able to show it to everybody all at once , but hey , you called me , bro , and you know you need some words . Hey , you know I got you . Or sis , you know I got you . Or whenever I need words , I know people to call . You know what I'm saying .

Speaker 1

So I just hope that everybody would take this as a challenge and each day , man , just check on your people and stuff like that . That's part of it . You know , just being real selfless and not selfish . You know selfish . All you do is just worry about yourself and worry about what you have to do for that day , and that doesn't take a very skilled person to accomplish those things and those type of people . A lot of people don't wanna work with you because you're selfish , you know .

Speaker 1

But I just wanna do my part and say , hey , man , look out for your brother , look out for your sister and make sure that you're trying to affect people around you . If you're not man . Not manipulating people , because that's horrible , I don't even like using that word , but you should motivate them , not manipulate them . Motivate them to do better and wanna be better man . And that was my quick spill for y'all today , man , and I hope y'all enjoyed this quick episode seeing your boy , your friend , your brother , md , the veteran , and I hope y'all have a great , tremendous rest of your day . And as always , it's the veteran . So who you think you're better than ?
