Malik Nabers Takes His Biggest Step Toward Week 1

Malik Nabers finally returned to live team work, giving the Giants real hope for Week 1 — but pushing too quickly could risk the health of the player their offense needs most. Monday made Dallas feel more realistic without making Nabers' availability a certainty.

Is Malik Nabers actually on track to play Week 1? His latest progression makes Week 1 significantly more realistic, but neither Nabers nor John Harbaugh is treating the comeback as finished.
The biggest debate of the episode centers on Najee Harris. The Giants worked out the former Steelers first-round pick after Dante Miller was waived/injured, but Harris is still returning from a torn Achilles and is not yet back in football shape. Drew and Rob debate whether his résumé and physical running style are worth using a roster spot while he finishes the comeback, where he would fit with Cam Skattebo and Tyrone Tracy Jr., and whether the Giants actually have a role that makes the wait worthwhile.
Would adding Najee Harris strengthen the running back room, or simply give the Giants another player whose health has to be managed?
Christian Gonzalez produces another major argument, but the distinction matters: this is a hypothetical Giants trade discussion, not a reported pursuit. The question becomes whether acquiring an elite young corner would justify both premium draft compensation and a contract potentially near the top of the cornerback market.
Would Gonzalez be worth paying twice — once in draft capital and again with a massive extension?
The roster movement continued elsewhere. Jake Haener arrived to challenge Brandon Allen for QB3, Chandler Martin became the latest former Raven to reunite with John Harbaugh, Beaux Collins landed with Atlanta after leaving New York, and Greg Van Roten signed with New England.
Meanwhile, Nabers' progress was part of a broader positive injury day for the Giants. John Michael Schmitz, Lucas Patrick, Greg Newsome, Dru Phillips and Paulson Adebo all returned to team work as New York continues trying to get healthy before the regular season.
