In verses 30–31, God says the sign of His salvation would be the miraculous provision of food. Why do you think this was God’s sign and not the destruction of the 185,000 Assyrians? Where in your own life have you seen God’s care show up in ordinary provision rather than extraordinary miracles?
God doesn’t promise abundance and luxury, but rather to provide for their needs. How should this be an encouragement and also a challenge to Christians who live in wealthy Perth?
The response to God giving life is to take root and bear fruit. What does it mean for God’s people to take root? How can a believer grow deeper roots? What does it mean for God’s people to bear fruit? In what areas would you like to see more fruit in your life? God promises to save Judah for His own sake and for the sake of His covenant promises to David. Why is it imperative that God uphold the worth and glory of His name?
