Candida Diet Tips, Recipes, and Insights - Episode #5 - Candida and Sweating on the Candida Diet
Hi, this is Dr. Jeff McCombs. Thank you for joining me today for Candida diet tips, recipes, and insights for greater health and vitality in your life. We are back again with another flash briefing filled with information about candida, candida diets, nutrition, and the latest insights from science on all things candida. Today, we are going to talk about sweating and the Candida diet. The Candida Plan, which, was developed over 31 years ago by me is the only Candida diet where sweating is a part of the diet process. We have found that sweating plays a very important role in helping to convert the problematic fungal form of candida back to its normal. Healthy yeast state. We're never killing it. We're just converting it. We have used this with the candida plan, as I said for over 31 years and we do not recommend doing the plan unless you're going to do the sweating. It is that important to the success of the plan. Heat boosts, the body's immune resistant responses while at the same time increasing circulation to all of the tissues of the body. This allows the immune cells to penetrate further into your body. It also aids in detoxification and it's part of the body's healing process. It's very important in order to experience a positive, outcome on the Candida Plan or really any candida diet. The sweating needs to be done at least six days. And that's for at least 10 minutes each time while you're doing the sweating stay well hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids, cold water, while you're doing the sweating. If you feel faint for any reason, if you've just been sweating in a hot bath and you feel faint, Place a cold wash cloth across the back of your neck. And that does wonders if you have any health issues, check with your doctor first, but we have found that, sweating has a tremendous impact on overall health. And the type of sweating we are talking about is for the most part, sitting in sweating that you would do in a hot bath, a sauna, a steam room, hot yoga, jacuzzi. Bikram yoga, et cetera. It does not. However, include sweating from exercise. When we are exercising, we're contracting muscles, which can cause a back flushing of toxins. And therefore we just don't get a good clean release and detoxification process as we do when somebody is just sitting and sweating at a hot bath or. We've been doing this over 31 years and we know this to be absolutely true. Exercise, doesn't work, sitting and sweating has a tremendous impact. Most people have access to a hot bath, which works great. You do not need a sauna, but there are small portable infrared saunas that you can buy on Amazon where your head sticks out and your arms can stick out and you can work on a computer or read a book. This type of, portable sauna has been around a long time. I remember going down in my basement when I was, young. and, seeing my mom, sitting in one of these with her heads, sticking out, reading a magazine. So it's, this is great for sweating. It's been around a long time. It works very well. Now there are also some, some of these type of saunas that are steam saunas. But we. Typically recommend them, because most people are gonna be steaming, chlorinated, tap water. And when you do that, you release the chlorine as a gas and now you're inhaling chlorine gas while you're sweating. And this is supposed to be a healthy process that helps to detoxify the body. So we're not looking to add more toxins. However, if you do have access to purified water, Steam works just as well. And you know, over the years we have seen some very inventive, options that people have created, when they didn't have a hot bath, when they didn't, wanna buy a portable sauna, we had one couple who lived in a loft, they put up a P tent, they covered it with blankets and towels. They hooked up a steamer to it and they would lie in it and sweat. And that's how they did their. Six days a week. And, of course they used purified water, which is what we recommended. And, they had great success. We had another family that was living in Costa Rica and they also did not have a hot bath. They didn't have a sauna to go to. So what they would do was. Put on their coats drive around in their car with the heat on and just drive around and sweat. And, I mean, we've seen a lot of, amazing options like this, but, you know, in Costa Rica, the temperatures about 80, 90 degrees every day, but you really wanna get that up to around a hundred, 101, which would be the temperature of a hot bath, or a, a sauna. Some people ask, can they sweat outside in the sun? And yes, if it's a hundred, 101, and that would mean even in the shade. Being that there's not like cool breezes cooling you off. You just have to maintain that heat. We're only looking to sweat about 10 minutes. Obviously, if you're in a hot bath, how do you know you're sweating? You know, and typically if you're sweating from your forehead, just time that you're sweating 10 minutes, there are a lot of great benefits to sweating and it is an essential part of our Candida diet, the Candida Plan, Our Candida diet recipe today. Rice herbed rice. This is an easy recipe that requires a rice cooker and is, easy enough to prepare. What we do is, the following ingredients are mixed together. One teaspoon of dried onion flakes, a half a tablespoon of dried celery flakes, two tablespoons of dried parsley, one teaspoon of dried garlic flakes, half a teaspoon or turmeric. Half a teaspoon salt, one cup of chicken broth, one cup of water, one pinch of ground cloves, one cup of brown rice, and one cup of scions chopped, rinse the rice in a strainer first and drained very well. Combine all the ingredients and put in the rice cooker or cook, according to, the rice package instructions. It's very easy. You just, turn it on and it automatically just cooks everything for you, gives you some nice fluffy rice, brown rice, not white rice and it is easy enough, easy enough that even I could cook it. Is saying a lot. We will try to get these notes for this flash briefing up on our website as soon as possible so that you can replay this episode and see the details in the notes.
