Interview with Maureen & Kelly Hackett of the Hackett Family Foundation
In the third episode of “Doers to Donors: Innovators and Their Philanthropy,” Philanthropy Roundtable President and CEO Elise Westhoff interviewed Maureen Hackett, co-founder and president of the Hackett Family Foundation, and her daughter Kelly Hackett, who serves as the foundation’s vice president. The conversation centered on family and faith, two main drivers of the Hacketts’ philanthropy, which includes investing in mental health resources and research, advancing cancer research and treatment, and supporting efforts to provide a good, quality education for children.
The Hackett Center for Mental Health was instrumental in helping children and families deal with trauma in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey in 2017 and continues its work today on mental health challenges in the COVID-19 era.
Listen to this interview to learn more about Maureen and Kelly’s involvement in these efforts, their approach to charitable giving and their belief that “everyone can bring value to philanthropy.”
