Myrtleford's Savoy Club in north east Victoria was a busy spot recently when about 100 people gathered for the launch of the "Embedding climate adaptation in agriculture" project, supported by the North East Catchment Management Authority with funding from the Federal Government's National Landcare Program.
Graeme Anderson (pictured), a climate specialist based in Geelong and from the agriculture and resources section of the Department of Economic Development, Jobs, Transport and Resources, was one of many speakers at the one-day event. Graeme discussed modelling as it applies to predicting climate effects on Agriculture, and within that using it as as tool.
Graeme played a role in the development of the "Climate Dogs" that helps explain the drivers of climate change.
