What's going on, guys? Welcome to the Freedom First podcast. If this is your first time tuning in, I'm the host of the show. Welcome to the Freedom First podcast. If this is your first time tuning in, I am the host of the show. My name is Justin Arrington and this is the 33rd episode that we have released 33 days in a row.
Speaker 1:If you guys have been here from the beginning, I appreciate you all for your listening to my voice every single day and I really do appreciate you guys. And if you guys have been listening to the show, all you guys or you guys know that all I ask is that we just share this show with whoever you feel like would get any value, any benefit from it, because my whole purpose is to help people start living life on their own terms and just building the life of their dreams. And so, guys, if you guys have not listened to the past 32 episodes, I encourage you to go back and listen through them. I try to keep these episodes semi short. I know they go a little bit longer sometimes, but we try to stay within like seven to 10 minutes, just because I know you guys are busy and hopefully you guys can take something from these short episodes and these are things that you guys can actually start applying today. I usually try and give you guys some sort of action item that you can immediately start taking action on, because that is ultimately how we grow. And so, with that said, if you guys listened to yesterday's episode, we talked about asking questions and I gave you guys a little bit of a sneak peek as to what we were going to be talking about today and today's episode. We're going to be talking about today and today's episode. We're going to be talking about controlling the controllables.
Speaker 1:Guys, there's things in your life that you are just not going to be able to control whatsoever, but there is a lot that you can ultimately control, and so, when I was prepping for this, there were several things that, um, you know, I w, I was kind of looking for, um, but ultimately, like there's, there's only, there's only a certain amount of things that you can absolutely control in in your life, um, but I wanted to start out with the things that you can't control. Um, some some examples of things that you can't control are the weather. You can't control traffic. You can't control bills. You can't control other people's feelings, what other people say, what other people believe, what others post online, what other people are thinking? You can't control other people's time. You can't control aging. You can't control time. You guys, this is something that I found on LinkedIn, so I am reading these. I thought it was a super cool image and um.
Speaker 1:So, guys, those are things that you can't control. Like well, let's just talk about the weather, for example. Let's just say that you have this, uh, this incredible backpacking trip planned up in the in the mountains somewhere, and, uh, you know, it's the day before you leave. You pull up your weather app on your phone and you just see that it's going to be an absolute downpour the entire time that you're on your trip. Guess what? You can't control it. That's something that you can't control. If there's traffic on the freeway, you're late for work, you can't control it. Guys, every year, you get another year older. You can't. You can't control that. There's nothing that you can do. That's going to stop time.
Speaker 1:A lot of these examples had to do with what other people, or had to do with other people. No-transcript, it's not going to happen. It's never going to happen. But now let's talk about things you can control. You can control what you do with your time. You can control what you eat. You can control your actions. You can control your thoughts. You can control how you spend your time on the internet. You can control self-care. You can control what you say. You can control who you hang out with. You can control what words you speak. You can control your boundaries and you can control your opinions.
Speaker 1:Now, there may be other things out there that you can control, but those are just some things that stuck out to me, but those are just some things that stuck out to me. You control every time you you intake something in your body. You control how you spend your time every single day. You control what it is that you look at on your phone. Maybe you're sick, Maybe you're one of those people that just sits on Instagram, facebook, whatever, and you're scrolling for out for hours every single day. Guess what you can control that? You can control who you hang out with, guys. Are you hanging around the right people? You can control what you look like. You can control your faith. You can control, I would say, the majority of your relationship.
Speaker 1:But, guys, you have to realize there's so many more things that are out of your control that are actually that then you're actually in control of and as much as you want to control other people, sometimes you just have to let them go. You have to, you know, let them live life the way that they want to live. So control the controllables. That's it. That's my only message for you today. You can't control time, but you can control what you do with the time that you have. Do you see why that's so important? Do you see why understanding that you can't control everything is so important? Guys, I know that this is probably something that is very, very difficult for a lot of you guys, but just keep, just keep moving on, like, keep living day after day and doing whatever it is that you can to be the best version of yourself, because once you can do that you'll you'll really start to live a happy and more fulfilling life. So control the controllable, guys.
Speaker 1:Like I said, this is. This is a short episode we're going to. We're going to be about seven minutes. That's what I these are. These are the episodes that are, honestly, some sometimes the best ones to listen to, because they are so short and it's something you can listen to super quick to get into your brain and move on with your day. So think about today like the rest of your day today. Just think about how many things you can actually control versus what you can't control. You can control your emotions, you can control whether or not you're going to have a good day today or not, but it's going to come down to you. So what are you going to do to make today great? And with that said, guys, we'll chat with you again tomorrow. This lifestyle design I know you see the work. A personal growth coach who founded here. It ain't no need to search this the Freedom First podcast. So just come and learn how to build a free life living on your own terms.
