Because I truly do believe if you are not growing, you are dying. And that is my whole purpose, my whole goal of this show, and I need you guys, as the listeners, to help me out with sharing the show. If you guys receive any sort of value whatsoever, so what that means is share it on your social media, text it to a friend, family member, whoever you feel like would maybe benefit from this message. But, guys, let's dive into it. These episodes are fairly short, something you can listen to right when you wake up in the morning or on your way to work. I know your time is valuable, so let's dive into it.
Speaker 1:Today's topic is going to be about keeping your word and keeping promises. Now, why is keeping your word so important? Why is doing what you say you're going to do when you say you're going to do it? Why is that so important? Because it builds trust. You have to have trust in business, in your relationships. Every single person that you come in contact with you have to try and get them to trust you, to get to get to know you, and keeping your word. That's the best way to do it, you know. So if I say that I'm going to do X Y Z for you know, susan over here I'm going to make sure X Y Z gets completed. Why? Because I told her it was going to get done.
Speaker 1:You know, everybody has deadlines in their life, whether it's with work. You know, maybe your spouse has a has a honeydew project that you need to get done. Once you tell them that you're going to do it, make sure that you do it. And Once you tell them that you're going to do it, make sure that you do it. And you have to make sure that you're setting time aside for that specific thing, for that specific project. You know, like with me and my wife, if she's listening to this she's going to laugh. But like I do not like honeydew projects, like I get frustrated and it just I don't know, it's something mentally, maybe I need to work through that and just be more grateful for it. But in reality, like I don't like honeydew projects and I'll get to them when I'm ready to get to them. But as long as I tell her, like you know, I will get it done, I'll get it done. You know.
Speaker 1:So if you guys have deadlines at work that you're trying to hit and your boss is just breathing down your back like when's this going to get done, when's this going to get done, make sure you keep your word and finish it. You know, if you tell someone that you're going to do something, do it. You know, I think it's in the movie the Pursuit of Happiness, when you know Will Smith and his son. They're up on the roof and he's talking about you know, people tell him that he can't, that he can't do something, uh. But then he says something along the lines of if you tell someone that you're going to do it, do it like, go out and make it happen, you know, so keep your word.
Speaker 1:And that just doesn't. That doesn't just apply to you know other people. You have to also keep your word to yourself, like if you're going down and you're writing out your, your checklist, for you know the things you have to accomplish that day, make sure you accomplish those. You know, yes, there's going to be days where you may not get to everything, but keep your word. If it doesn't get checked off that day, make sure that that is number one priority tomorrow, because the more and more that you keep yourself accountable, the more you keep your word to yourself. It's going to not only you know trick not trick, but rewire your brain to be more productive, but you're also going to be able to start checking more and more things off of your to-do list, off of your vision boards, off of whatever, and then you're going to find yourself further along progressing in life.
Speaker 1:And so that's why it's so important to keep your word, not only to others, but also to you, because, I've said in the past, you are the most important person on this planet you are. It's not your spouse, it's not your kids, because if you can't take care of you, if you're not making sure that everything's in line and check with you, you're worthless to them. So make sure you keep those promises to yourself, and once you do that, you'll be able to keep promises to other people. Keep those promises to yourself, and once you do that, you'll be able to keep promises to other people, and it's just kind of a ripple effect and that's going to eventually lead you to having more success, being more fulfilled in life. So, guys, go out and keep your word, keep your promises to yourself and, honestly, just keep growing, keep building those relationships. I know you can do it. So keep your word, guys. We'll chat with you tomorrow like living on your own terms.
