Welcome back to the Freedom First podcast. This is Justin Arrington, back on the mic with you once again. Guys, it has been a minute. We went 50 days in a row, 50 days of straight podcasting, dropping knowledge to you guys for 50 days straight, and that was honestly one of the most fun things that I've done with this, with podcasting and, you know, putting messages out there. That was honestly a really cool thing to do for me personally. And if you guys listened to the last episode, I did mention that we were going to be taking it back just a little bit, mainly for my sanity. I don't want to lose the love for podcasting and doing it every day. It was taxing on me, I'll be honest. It was really, really fun to do, but I wanted to make sure that I was bringing the right value to you guys every time that I dropped an episode, and so, if you guys listened to the last episode, I said that I was going to cut it back to one or two a week, and last week we went on a little bit of a hiatus and I did not drop an episode and I just kind of needed that reset, like all of us do need every now and then. So we're back. We're back and I think that we are going to try and stick to a twice a week schedule for shows. And yeah, that's where I'm at with the podcast right now. I do want to eventually get some guests on the show. There's a long list of people that I'm hoping we can get on here and you guys will just have to stay tuned for that. But lots of really cool things cooking there and guys. Welcome to the show. Welcome to the Freedom First podcast.

Speaker 1:

If this is your first time tuning in, this is a show where we talk about personal development. We talk about and when I say we, it's me. I talk about personal development. Why do I talk about personal development so much? Why do I talk about personal development so much? It's because I believe in it. I believe in all of the crazy things that you hear about on the internet of bettering yourself will better your future and blah, blah, blah. There's a bunch of different things out there and I'm attracted to all of that. Why? Because it works. Personal development works. If you want to grow farther in life, you have to work on yourself. You have to be willing to take yourself out of your comfort zone and start to apply yourself, start to actually contribute to society, if we just decided to put it that way. So, guys, if that's where you're at, if you're beginning your personal development journey, I'm glad that you guys have found this show. I hope that there's some sort of value exchange from me to you during the duration of this show. However many episodes you listen to, it doesn't matter. All that I ask is that you share the show with someone who you feel like would benefit from it, and I only want you to do that if there was that value exchange that I talked about.

Speaker 1:

I have been on a personal development journey now for probably six years is probably when I first started getting into it, and I had a podcast show that I started early last year. We dropped like 32 or 33 episodes like that. It was called Awaken the Power Within and I love doing that. I love doing that podcast because when I started it, it, um, I was honestly gonna kind of going through some really rough patches in my life, at least financially, and you know, just the real estate market was kind of crapping out and it was tough, and so I kind of shut that podcast down just because I wasn't in the headspace that I wanted to be when I dropped that, but now we're back. I revamped the podcast with the Freedom First podcast.

Speaker 1:

Why did I call it the Freedom First podcast? It's because I believe that everyone should be living a life on their own terms. We live in a free country. It is the best country in the world to live in, and we pronounce ourselves as free, but are you actually free? Are you free to do and say the things that you really want to do or say? Are you able to, you know, spend time with your kids whenever you want, or are you tied down by the man? Are you able to travel when and wherever you want because you want to? Are you building a business that you're proud of? Do you have employees? Do you feel like your spirituality is on point? Because if you guys are not aligned with any of that, it's time for you to start reprioritizing your life, and you can do that right now If you guys go back and listen to the previous episodes on this show. There's a lot of. I think I talked about life auditing probably three or four times in those 50 episodes that we dropped. Life auditing will work. Life auditing will actually help you analyze and be like holy crap, there's a lot that I'm not doing in life that I want to. How can I fix that? How can you fix it? It starts with personal development. So that's why freedom first. I want everybody to live a free life. I want everybody to live it on their own terms. That's why I love the intro song to this podcast show so much. Live it on your own terms. This is your life. No one else should be able to dictate what you do. So that's why we do the show and, with that said, I feel like that was a long enough intro for you. I told you that these episodes might be a little bit longer, since we're only dropping one or two a week. But, guys, this is.

Speaker 1:

I wanted to share a quote with you guys that I listened to at the gym it was actually this morning and it really kind of I'd never heard it before and I'm really kind of shocked that I haven't heard this before, because you know, like, like I said, I love you know reading quotes. I love you know the positive affirmation things, like. I mean, you guys might think it think it's hippie, dippy stuff, but I like it, you know. I feel like it brightens up my day, and so usually every morning I listened to some sort of like affirmations or you know some motivational thing on YouTube and, um, you guys might give me crap because I talk about how motivation is bull crap, but it is, but it isn't. You know, like you can be, you can be motivated for a time and that's just how I like to start my days. I like to, you know, have have that hype man there. That's there to you know, kind of shake me, wake me up and just be like look, today we're going to dominate the day and do all that we can to you know, reach our, reach our potential goals and and everything like that.

Speaker 1:

So I do believe there is a time and place for motivation, but ultimately, discipline is what will get you the things that you want in life. Um, so, anyway, as I was listening to um, it might've even been the podcast that I listened to this morning, I don't know. It's that. That's irrelevant, um, but the quote that I wanted to share with you guys is this there's seven days in a week and someday is not one of them. Let me read.

Speaker 1:

Let me read that to you guys again there is seven days in the week and someday isn't one of them. What does that mean? I'm talking to you guys who are sitting there on the fence. You're sitting there procrastinating and putting off the life that you want to live. There's Monday, tuesday, wednesday, thursday, friday, saturday, sunday, but there is no someday. So stop saying someday I'm going to go out and do this.

Speaker 1:

Someday I'm going to start treating my family better. Someday I'm going to go build this massive company that's going to give me financial freedom in the time that I ultimately want. Someday I'll go to the gym. Someday I'll get fit. Someday I'll eat better. Someday, someday, someday. How many times have you told yourself someday I will become the best version of myself? But then guess what? Nah, I'll do it tomorrow. Nah, I'll start next Monday. Nah, the year's almost over, I'll just start January 1st. How many more times are you going to do that? It's got to stop.

Speaker 1:

You guys, over the last couple of weeks, I've actually been really diving deep on what it is that I want. Where do I want my company to be? How do I want my finances to look, how do I want my time to be spent and I've wanted that for years and even though that I've had a great amount of success, even though I've been able to do a lot of really cool things and, um, you know, make a decent amount of money. It made me take a step back and be like you know what I'm really not. I'm not even close to where I want to be. So, instead of saying, someday I'll do this, how about you make it today? So, instead of saying, someday I'll do this, how about you make it today?

Speaker 1:

What's that one thing that immediately pops in your mind when I ask you what does your dream life look like? What's the first thing that popped into your brain? How long have you been putting that thing off? How long?

Speaker 1:

I know a lot of the listeners on this show like you're either wanting to get into entrepreneurship or maybe you're really, really early on. You know what are you waiting for? You know, if you're on the fence of starting a business, waiting two or three more years is only going to set you back another 10 to 15. So why are you putting it off? What's holding you back? And you may be sitting there like, well, I don't have the. I don't have the finances to get started. Or you know what, if it doesn't work, you guys, if that, if those are the excuses that you've been telling yourself for the last few years, or however long it's been.

Speaker 1:

Maybe it's just not for you, maybe you were meant to be just an average Joe? Were you meant to be an average Joe? No, god put you on this planet to be something. He put you on this planet to be great, and even though that there's hard times that you have to go through in order to grow, it's worth it. It's worth it if it's something that you really really want.

Speaker 1:

You know, back when I was like early on in my entrepreneurship journey, like I had this idea, like you know what I want to be a billionaire and guess what I really don't? I don't. You know, there's a lot more that's important to me than being a billionaire. That just wasn't aligned with what I want in my life. You know, I've had the opportunity several times throughout the last few years to like really break it down into what it is that I want with my life. You know, what kind of car do I want to drive? Where do I ultimately want to live? Do I have a vacation home? Am I? Am I uh, you know, making the or taking the family trips that I want to? Am I able to spend date nights the way that I want to? Can I attend my kids' uh, you know soccer games or basketball games, baseball games, whatever they got going on? I attend my kids' soccer games or basketball games, baseball games, whatever they got going on.

Speaker 1:

Yes, I still have dreams and yes, I'm not close to where I ultimately want to be, but there's a lot of things that I haven't been able to check off. I have not missed one of my kids' athletic events ever, and I think that's something to be super proud of in today's world. That's something to be super proud of in today's world. You know, like I, I don't want anything like. If I had to pick one thing out of everything that I had on, like my vision boards or anything that I wanted to accomplish, it would be to spend as much time with my kids as possible. That would be. That would be it Spending time with family, because that's what's most important to me, and so what I do is I take the goals that I have in my life and I create those around my household. I create things that are in line with what me and my family want.

Speaker 1:

Someday you'll do that. Someday you'll live the life of your dreams. Someday you'll live the life of your dreams. Someday could be 50, 60 years from now. Are you going to wait that long?

Speaker 1:

If you're listening to this show right now, I want you to make the decision today to be great. There's seven days in a week and someday is not one of them, but today is Plant your flag today to become great. It's that simple. I hope I've been able to pound that in your guys's brain enough. So, guys, what are you going to do today? I want you to think of one thing that immediately popped into your brain when I asked you what it is that you ultimately wanted. So, guys, with that said, that's all I have for you. I will probably be dropping another episode. Look for it. I'm guessing Thursday. I'm still trying to dial in this new schedule. Look for it on Thursday.
