SPEAKER_08Here with the boys Jimbo Cook Black and Cold.
SPEAKER_04Yo yo yo. Sorry, everybody. It's just a boring one with the rest just uh just us.
SPEAKER_08We got a few things too. Oh, boring.
SPEAKER_04This is good afternoon.
SPEAKER_03There it is.
SPEAKER_08Oh there you go, Papaka. There you go. There you go. Well, real quick before we get the show started, then we'll shoot this out real quick. If you want to help support the show, the link's down below. Check out the merch shop, and thank you very much. And then also sign ups for the season eight of NRL are up, the McNaughty Racing League.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_08So go check out McNaughty.gg to sign up. Sign-ups are open until I think the 13th of September. And uh McNaughty will be joining us next week on the show to give you more information about that. So yeah, I'm excited for that, boys. Already signed up.
SPEAKER_04I heard there's another people signed up that you might know too. Who? Who is it? What is it? A fucking owl?
SPEAKER_02I am officially signed up. Oh, wrong one. I should be as well. Yep. Officially signed up. Hell yeah.
SPEAKER_06You'll be able to race against uh pretty much all the podcasts.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Well, most most of the podcast except for Todd.
SPEAKER_08Todd's a steward. Todd's in the booth.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, Todd's Todd's a stewish.
SPEAKER_08And then hopefully Roll, I think possibly Roland might be signing back up.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I think possibly.
SPEAKER_08Four of us. Um Toby. If you're feeling better, I know you had your Toby. Shout out to Toby, had his appendix out. Oh shit. So shout out to Tobes. He should be feeling better by now, but Yeah.
SPEAKER_04So it's funny, I I uh got into the NRL general chat and I did uh the forced gump wavy. Yeah. Sheldon, yep, Sheldon responded with, please say you're joining the dance this year, and then I responded with Napoleon Dynamite dancing.
SPEAKER_02Yes, I am joining the dance.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, this will be exciting. And you pick Friday? Or Sunday? I pick Friday, yes.
SPEAKER_06I would have a Friday option.
SPEAKER_08Perfect. That's what I pick.
SPEAKER_04Oh, Hovercraft, his first NRL season as a driver, too. Hovercraft will be driving also.
SPEAKER_08There's gonna be a lot of people. There's gonna be a lot of people on the chopping block. There's gonna be a lot of people not making it.
SPEAKER_04I'm really afraid that I'm gonna be one of those people that doesn't make it. I got it. Because I don't qualify I do not qualify well. Yeah.
SPEAKER_08Same.
SPEAKER_04I'm a racer, not a qualifier.
SPEAKER_08If I shit the bet, I'm good. So I gotta buy.
SPEAKER_04You're automatically in. Yep. Yeah, you're automatically in.
SPEAKER_08So yeah, there's a lot of new new people jumping in the Discord, and there's gonna be a lot of them.
SPEAKER_02And I am not confident in my qualifying skills. So I get you.
SPEAKER_08We got a month to practice. We got a month to catch it in the case. You guys know what it is? Yeah. Dragon Trail Seaside. Oh, okay. And the FT1 GT or Group 3. Okay.
SPEAKER_05Shitty guard. Ooh, okay.
SPEAKER_08Actually, I did if anyone's listening. I did some laps. I did a few laps. Don't say your time. I'm not sure. Don't say your time. But I did some laps. Car's not that bad. It feels pretty good. I didn't lose it. So I saw a couple other people streaming.
SPEAKER_06It's not a bad car to drive. It's just not a good car in retrospect for the VLP with the car.
SPEAKER_08It's a good it's a good qualifying car for just people to go do lacking.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, yeah, but it drives fine. It just it just in the scheme of things, it's a shit, it's not fast.
SPEAKER_08It's not a good thing. No, it has to be its own like spec lead. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_03If someone didn't get it, I think it's fires and what's the fuel and fireware.
SPEAKER_08Softs and I want to say twenty-five liters to start with.
SPEAKER_03Okay. For the qualifyings. Yep.
SPEAKER_08I think it's a twenty-five minute or twenty or twenty-five minute qualifier.
SPEAKER_06A couple of pit stops.
SPEAKER_08Yep, yep, yep.
SPEAKER_06Because you can't access, you can't you have to go in and out of the pits only like regular.
SPEAKER_08No, I think for the qualifier, I think he did say you can do um straight to the pits for this one. Yeah. Okay. Yep, yep. I'll have to double check on that, but I'm pretty sure. Yeah, because Sheldon was streaming some laps, Papa was streaming some laps, and um Cyrus Nicky was doing some laps. Because he's gonna be back this year, too.
SPEAKER_02Oh, awesome.
SPEAKER_08Yep.
SPEAKER_02Good.
SPEAKER_08So dude, A division's gonna be stacked.
SPEAKER_04A division's gonna be stacked. Sounds like B division's gonna be stacked also, so uh we're gonna have to work our butts off Mike's. Oh nervous.
SPEAKER_08I think it's gonna have to add another division, possibly. But like we said before, it's almost I like it that he only has the two because then it makes it, you know, everyone's like fighting and clamoring to get in, and if you don't make it, you don't make it. You don't make it, yeah.
SPEAKER_04No, I don't have you know, that's the thing is you want the best of the best of the best.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. The thing is as well as we tight have such a competitive tight ranking and lobbies, uh, like people that can't are getting cut because it's so tight. When you get into the races, the races are gonna be so close, there's gonna be a huge amount of racing. Yeah. You know, I mean it's not gonna be like daily races where there's like a lead pack and a and the rest, you know, kind of shit. You know what I mean? Like it's gonna be like you said, the best of best. It's gonna be like some strategy, like crazy moves like there has been the previous seasons. Like it's gonna be tight racing.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, and I think um if I don't make it, of course, I don't have any problem being the engineer.
SPEAKER_08Yeah.
SPEAKER_04I think you'll make it. Yeah, I have no problem. No problem doing that. I don't, man. I am I know that this is gonna be stacked, and like I said, I am not a qualifier, I'm a racer.
SPEAKER_06I'll be already out of mob. If I make it in, I'm gonna be say, I'm gonna be honored to be part of the group of people because it is such good it's such elite racers, such skills.
SPEAKER_04It is. It is. It's both both leagues or both uh divisions are awesome. So so no matter what, if I make it in, I'm going to be extraordinarily happy.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_04If I don't make it in, I'll completely understand why. So that's just sort of how I feel.
SPEAKER_06I'm on I'm in a spot, like it was not to say suck, but it would really kind of be like, oh fuck, if I got if we made to like bottom of the top division.
SPEAKER_05You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_04Like I don't expect with this many people that are in it, I don't imagine myself being at the bottom of the top to be.
SPEAKER_06Like it's like you have no real shot necessarily at anything in that division, but at the same time, it's be like, wow, I am with the best of the best. Yeah, I mean, regardless of what happened, unlike some people out there, yeah, yeah, to be able to just race in the same races in them and then and fight with them a bit is like an honor in itself, kind of thing. So uh it's a that would be kind of like not probably possible, but if it happened, I'd I'd just be happy to be there regardless. So and even then be like it's gonna be so stacked that like even to get into B where like would be like wow, okay, we made it to you know I mean kind of thing, because it's gonna be I think it's gonna be some of the tightest um rankings that they've had.
SPEAKER_08Biggest biggest season yet for shoulder.
SPEAKER_06Oh, definitely, definitely biggest season yet. Not to create rumors, but I've seen a couple people online in my friends list that haven't been around for a little while that are previous champions.
SPEAKER_04Oh, so yeah, Mike has a theory that we're gonna have a bunch of previous champions. So that's cool. I love that. Paco Mullet, that would be really cool. Super stacked. I think it even gets closer, especially with the speed of Jorge and Wid and those guys. It's gonna be and the Kai, it's gonna be crazy in Division A.
SPEAKER_08Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_04I think it's gonna be insane. I think it's gonna be insane too. Yeah, I'm really I am I I'm looking forward to it, even if I don't race to just be able to watch it because it's so exciting. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_06I I think because uh it could be a super, super stacked division A, I think it's gonna make division B so much tighter and harder to be in. Yep, I think so too. I think so too. But oh God, here we go. Sign up, get yourself on the list, get get yourself on the list.
SPEAKER_04Put yourself on the list, definitely. Yeah, if you don't, if you don't play, or if you don't race, you can't play. That's right. Yeah, because don't play, you can't race, race, playing, playing in the race play or race and play. Yeah. Again, I have posted I have posted some amazing things on the Instagrams. You should go to DGDR podcast on Instagrams because there's some funny stuff up there. Um it's hard. We've done so many episodes. I mean, two weeks will be our four-year. Two weeks will be our four-year anniversary. So there are so many episodes to go through. It's crazy. A lot. I oh dude, there's so much I'm like, start at the beginning and start going through, and like I'm like slowly, like I'm skipping, I'm skipping through each episode, you know, little by little, seeing if I'm like, oh, okay, I remember that conversation and trying to add it. You know, then we just have a bunch of shit episodes too that are just boring as hell. Like, there are a lot of those. Sorry about that, guys. But it happens. Yeah. I mean, after doing 3,080 episodes, it's hard to find. Hard to find.
SPEAKER_06Every time I think about it, it's just like, fuck, it's been a long time.
SPEAKER_08I feel like it's we just started in a way.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, it doesn't seem like it doesn't seem like four years. No. Oh, I love this.
SPEAKER_08Season five starting soon, just in time for NRL. And also, are we uh we're sponsoring NRL again, right, boys? Yep. We're saying it here. Yep, I'm down. Yeah. Yep. So we'll be a sponsor again for NRL. So that's exciting. Our third season with them already. Being a sponsor. It's wild.
SPEAKER_06Sponsor and drivers.
SPEAKER_08Yeah. Now we're in the driving and shooting.
SPEAKER_06And stewards.
SPEAKER_05Right. There's no uh pay to win there.
SPEAKER_08We're in it.
SPEAKER_05We're in it. It's pay to win by the we pay them the sponsorship. Right. We get to drive in it, and then we have a steward on the pocket.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, look at that. We're we're definitely in the pocket for sure. I mean, if if if PDX doesn't come one, two, three in the division, you're gonna know something's fishy. It's rigged. It's rigged.
SPEAKER_08Oh man. Yep, shout out to the biggest.
SPEAKER_06That would be incredible. That would that would be incredible if we could have so much of us, so many of us in there in all the little in all the splits that we were just like not say doming, but in the front of everything that were just like everywhere you look was PDX VR Mafia, PDX, VR Mafia, like everywhere.
SPEAKER_08It's gonna be tough.
SPEAKER_04But it'd be great. It is gonna be tough.
SPEAKER_06It's gonna be very tough. So we might have to do some of that stuff that teams do, like practice. Oh, we never practice, remember? Yeah, I don't know that.
SPEAKER_04We don't we never we've never practiced. We don't need no teamwork needed here. Noob. We don't do teamwork, we don't do practice, we don't do any of that stuff. So it's just not part of our repertoire. So uh did you guys watch the uh World Series yesterday?
SPEAKER_08I did. You did, yeah. I did watched both of them.
SPEAKER_04I I heard uh I I haven't watched both of them. I did watch a little clip of uh one of the incidences, um, but uh and then Mike was commenting on how much representation from Japan there was. Yep.
SPEAKER_08Oceana leg. Um I get some of it since it was a makeup round because Abu Dhabi got canceled. Pre-taped at the facilities of PD. Tiny facility, not much room. I get some of it of why the pre-taping. The pre-taping wasn't, I mean, I fell my I felt myself out of it just because I knew it was pre-taped. I think the live shows are way better. Some of the editing they did was kind of kind of not that great. Some of the stewarding was a little someone got robbed. Fucking robbed.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, you need to watch it.
SPEAKER_08You need to watch exciting now for the finals.
SPEAKER_04You mean yeah, yeah, because Tokyo is the is the finals this year, correct? So they go to Tokyo twice, which man, that would be awesome to be able to go to Tokyo. Oh, dude. So it's like I don't have many places I want to go in the eastern hemisphere of the world. But Japan is one of those places. Japan is one of them. No desire for China, no desire for India, but like I want to go to Vietnam, I want to go to Japan, and I want to go to Thailand. Like, those are the three places I'd love to go to in the Eastern Hemisphere. Yeah.
SPEAKER_08I'm down for Japan.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Totally down. Definitely down for Japan. Yeah.
SPEAKER_08Terry needs you to go with us. He could be our little our guide.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. You can be our guide. And uh do you st does Terry do Terry, do you speak Japanese? Yeah, he does. Oh yeah. Oh, yeah. He's Mr. Fluent in the Japanese. Well, he better be. He better be being Japanese.
SPEAKER_08Yeah. Those are some he hasn't been there in a while. I like watching when he goes out there.
SPEAKER_04That's cool. Yeah, yeah, it is cool. Hey Todd, you actually gotta put your microphone close to your face, otherwise we can't hear anything else. Oh no.
SPEAKER_08Put a mic close to your face. Any mic. Stick it down. PlayStation. Put on the headset. We'll get that. Sorry, everybody.
SPEAKER_04As you can see, we don't do a pre-recorded show. This is live. This is live. Live on Monday morning. Every Monday morning.
SPEAKER_08Very little editing.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_08Just add some music on the front. Mainly no editing.
SPEAKER_06Mainly no editing because we don't know what we're doing.
SPEAKER_09Yeah.
SPEAKER_06We don't. No, we don't. Sorry.
SPEAKER_08I know how to add some music and that kind of shit. And then after you.
SPEAKER_06If you listen to other episodes, you know we can barely even record it.
SPEAKER_08Oh yeah, fuck. Thank God that hasn't been a while.
SPEAKER_06So it was kind of a joke, in my opinion, this this one here. Regardless of a makeup or not, like, okay, if you're making it up because of a canceled thing in Abu Dhabi, that's I one I understand that. But now you've saved all that money.
SPEAKER_08Yeah. Oh.
SPEAKER_05That would have been a very, very having it there.
SPEAKER_08No crowd.
SPEAKER_06So why was it a regional event when there was none other regional events in any of the other rounds? It's not like when it was in like LA, for example, they did they had like 50 people from fucking North America.
SPEAKER_08Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_06You know what I mean? There was a there was still just the one representation from the US in one year. You know what I mean? Like there was there yeah, but still like there wasn't eleven in the field.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, because the only guy over there was Cardinal from Canada on this event.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_06So why, like, you know what I mean? Like we need to be able to do that. You had the mix, you had you had the mixed bag of nations.
SPEAKER_09Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_06Why weren't even some of those drivers in the manufacturer like they are or something, you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_08Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Again, because you didn't want the the one who was robbed to dominate everything.
SPEAKER_08Well, Simon, too, so manufacturers are three drivers, right? Right, yeah. So they each do a round and then the finals are all there. So Simon should be going to Singapore. We should reach out to him and hopefully we can be really cool too. Um, and see if he knows all the time.
SPEAKER_06I wonder how much we have to pay uh I wonder how much we would have to pay him to to get him to throw chop the cows for us.
SPEAKER_04A lot good old throat chop. Well, Mike or Todd doesn't want that. Todd wants to do it himself. Yeah, that's true. Todd doesn't want to hand that to anybody else.
SPEAKER_06He wants to do that. Wouldn't that be hilarious on a live event to see just be like standing beside him and this is for Todd!
SPEAKER_08I was thinking about it. Also, Sony might have a lot of pull and maybe Kaz's hands are tied behind and he tries to do certain things that sounds like I was thinking about this the other day when I was.
SPEAKER_04I'm gonna say that is a good so so Ari, you know, made some comments on our Discord, and I hope I can call you Ari, sweet cherry. He um made some comments about how controlling the Sony marketing team is.
SPEAKER_08Yeah.
SPEAKER_04And I just I I wonder if he's got it dead on. Sony is controlling so much of that stuff that they own PD. Yeah, because Kaz wants to do this stuff, and they're like, no. Yeah, very minimal.
SPEAKER_08Oh, I want to put these cars in, but no. Or we want to change physics. Yeah, but when you do that, people complain and we don't get as many players on, and we want those numbers, so we need to do it this way. We own you, Kaz. We own you.
SPEAKER_04Todd, what were you gonna say since we can't hear you?
SPEAKER_07Why would we own it?
SPEAKER_04I think it's less about I so what Todd said was why would Sony want to limit the car availability and stuff like that? I think I think it's less about I think it's less about that and more about the bigger picture. And how much money is well, the limiting cars could be down to how much money is gonna be spent getting licensing.
SPEAKER_08Right.
SPEAKER_04Because it's not cheap to get licensing. No. You know? Shit's expensive.
SPEAKER_08But it almost likes some of those people would pay PD and Sony to then want to be in the game since it's one of the largest games in the world.
SPEAKER_04Well, and this is this is the craziest thing, Todd, you know, in our on our pre pre-discussion where we talked about smoking weed and shit like that, too, because that's our pre-planning meeting every time. Uh doing dabs. Um, why aren't two of the biggest manufacturers in the world represented in the World Series? Ford and Chevy. Why do we not have a new Ford and a new Chevy race car to be represented properly, like like every other major racing series in the world?
SPEAKER_09But you have Volkswagen and Suzuki and the case.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, you have Volkswagen Suzuki, which do not participate in any world major motorsport. It is mind-boggling. Todd said it's mind-boggling.
SPEAKER_06So even though they have they have other cars like, you know, like they're the that uh manufacturers that are competitive in racing, they have them in they have them in there for group three where like in GT three and stuff like that in the real world, they don't compete either. You know what I mean? It's like you have like when's the last time you saw Subaru competing in a G T three series? It doesn't. Exactly. But there's no Chevy, there's no Ford, you know what I mean? When's the last time you saw a fucking Evo driving in G T three? No, it's ridiculous.
SPEAKER_04It's absolutely ridiculous. They they should be, if they want to make it look like that.
SPEAKER_06You've got a citron. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04You've got a citron. You know, you need to they need to start thinking more IMSAWec uh GT World Challenge, you know, where you actually have manufacturers that manufacture specific group three or GT3 car cars or GT4 cars.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. They've done technically a little bit of that with the the new hypercars they put in. Yeah, I mean these are these are competitive, these are the drive. They didn't make a Vision GT fucking hypercar. No, these are the legit fucking cars. Like you can do it for other stuff.
SPEAKER_04Well, and we've got what? 996 and Porsche RSR.
SPEAKER_06And if you're going to do these cars, do them in their own little categories. Like make them because they're they're not real.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, make it a vision of vision category.
SPEAKER_06There's nothing wrong with that. And it happens in group in our group one cars as well. You know. Group one group one? Like what number one?
SPEAKER_04Group one needs to be split up into VGT, group C and Hypercar. Modern Modern LMP1, which would be the Audis and stuff like that, and then Hypercar. Because there are four divisions there. We shouldn't, when we're doing racing with the you know, the races that PD has set up, there should not be a vision car or a VGT car in with any of those other cars. It shouldn't be happening. Have a vision race. That's totally cool. But if you're gonna have the LMP1s, have an LMP1 race. And it's just LMP1s, or it's just group C or it's just hypercars. There should be no mixture.
SPEAKER_06They had the they used to always do like it was always a mix like uh Le Mans race. It was always a mix, group one. But did you know that and you notice how chaos how horrible those are because of the the mix of classes, you know, the high speeds as opposed to the high cornering, you know, I mean, and the chaos it creates. Now look at it when they separate, when they do like group three only, and they did the hypercar only. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Like, you know, I mean, how it pulls everything together.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, it was a smoother, closer, better race, and it wasn't like like, for example, the old way. You used to have like a Mazda going through the Porsche S's and a fucking Porsche, not coming up behind them going full tilt still because it can and it has nowhere to go because the Mazda fucking 787 has to fucking break crazily through the Porsche S's. You know what I mean? Kind of thing. Like you've never had any of that stuff. You know, so it's like they know the categories exist separated fully.
SPEAKER_04It's a failure on Sony and PD's side to recognize how poor their race-making ability is. You your your racemaking ability is awful. It just is. I'm sorry to say that, but it's horrible. They they and then they have these sparks of brilliance, and you're like, yes, this is great, whether we're talking about the greatest races ever, which was Road Atlanta in the Mazda. Because everybody was so close together, and everybody was on for that race. I did so much racing that week because it was so much fun.
SPEAKER_07That's the race. With Mazda being a huge sponsor and Mazda bringing in the new Evo in the next five, six months. Um why why don't we get that race? Have a Mazda cup, but they don't need to be in the manufacturer. No, World Tierra. No.
SPEAKER_04I I get and I guarantee that we're gonna see a Toyota GT3, the new GT3 car. I know as soon as that drops in real life, it's gonna be in the game.
SPEAKER_08Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_06Can uh like this is kind of a little bit of a we could segue just quickly right into to next week's because what we're talking about, like the greatest race ever, there is a small, slim, I'd say 3% chance we might have one of those.
SPEAKER_09Ooh.
SPEAKER_06Daytona? Yeah. So with the next week's races, Daily A is Daytona road course on the sports hard tires.
SPEAKER_04Oh man, that would be so cool if that was Mazda's. Oh it might be the city. But it's probably gonna be group four. No, no, it's not a good thing. It's gonna be a row course. It's a road car.
SPEAKER_06Oh, you said sports hard, sorry. Yeah, yeah. So there could it might be, but it they even if it's not the Mazdas, if they have the right car there, you know, I mean, that could be an absolute amazing fucking yeah. But it has to be a one-make. It can't be those fucking groups that they there's there their specific category, like mix of cars that they pick out because they're never balanced. Um they need to have a one-make race, and it's gotta be something. It's always a one-make. Easy to drive. But not super, like not like our, you know, like on rails, arcadey kind of thing, but something that's easy and fun to drive, that gets a little loose kind of thing at times, but is easy to drive still, like the Maz does. Or something maybe with a little bit more speed than that because it's uh you know a fairly fast course. R34.
SPEAKER_02Something.
SPEAKER_06Like something good, but one make it in in something that's drivable.
SPEAKER_04Now, is it?
SPEAKER_06Don't put it in something that's gonna have crazy crazy old fucking like weight shift in it. Yeah, it's the road course. So nothing with massive, crazy weight shift and sliding all over the fucking place like uh they did with the NSX at uh like Grand Valley. You know what I mean? Like that was a car that was hard to fucking drive, especially there with lots of weight shift all over. Don't do that. Do something that's drivable, make it a fun fucking race, and you'll get numbers. Um, Daily B is Lego Major Full Course Reverse in this race mediums. Um that'll be group four. Probably gonna be group four because Yasma Arena for daily C on the mediums and the softs at three fuel and four tires. And I they fixed the penalty system, but they they made it the basically the Olympic or official fucking penalty system for the lines there. They need to relax that a bit because it's ridiculous the how tight it's become. I know it was retarded how you how much you could cut without a penalty and everything else before. Um, but they they need to fix a happy medium on that because that could be a if it's not such a tight because there is a bit of bumping and banging on that track.
SPEAKER_07And it may be like that for the first three days, and then Thursday when we get the update, they may fix it. Yeah, because we do have that update coming.
SPEAKER_06But I am like, I'm not usually, but I'm excited for the possibilities of what daily A could bring. And I don't usually care about that.
SPEAKER_04But well, we should be fi we should oh, we should have already known because we record this on Monday morning.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, but we're not we're not we're not at our PlayStations. We're we're we're we're on our way to we're on our way to work right now. So did anybody need a meme rate studio?
SPEAKER_08No.
SPEAKER_06I wanted to, but I was like, nah.
SPEAKER_04No, that's because another another seg another segue.
SPEAKER_05Yep.
SPEAKER_04Another segue, no, because we were practicing for the Red Bull Jr. Extravaganza. That's what we were practicing for. Yeah. No Fuji. No, I did some of the things. I did. We were practicing again, we were practicing for the S7R Red Bull Jr. Yeah, Fuji was fun. Extravaganza. Yeah, no, we did practice every day.
SPEAKER_06And uh Well, it didn't show, goddammit. I know. It did so show, I didn't know. Actually, it showed exactly what we practiced.
SPEAKER_04We practiced exactly that. It showed exactly what we practiced, but it was the wrong strategy. It was yeah, it was the wrong strategy, but it was the we had the right strategy according to Hovercraft. That's the strategy he thought was gonna happen, not all out. Like it was it was a sprint race, and nobody expected it to be a sprint race.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. I should say we didn't mental, but yeah, it was it was there was not say a lot, no strategy, but there was really not a lot of strategy, it turned out in that one. Um, just the old one. Well, that's I mean, though, that and that's just like, well, you know, in a way, it turns out that it's like no feel, no, no tires on. You know what I mean? In that way, because of the way the course was and the size of it. So it was probably the easiest race of the series so far, I'd say.
SPEAKER_07Here's a rule of thumb. Whatever the true serum's doing, try to try to do. Seriously. Well, oh yeah, but how do we know until the last second? Well, when he pulls away from you, you know, and if he's gonna be trying to do it at the beginning. Just stay with him. Just stay with them as much as you can and do what he does. Mimic.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, next next race will be Grand Valley Reverse. Um, yeah, it's gonna be uh 33 laps, it's gonna be uh pretty fun. I I it's funny because I don't necessarily like the Red Bull competitions there then on that track, and especially in reverse.
SPEAKER_08These cars will be perfect.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, these ones I think will be perfect. I think this will be a really, really good combination of like high speed limits and controllable limits and certain spots really flowing, fast and flowing, and some uh I think some really competitive racing because there's a in my brain looking at it, I think there's like quite a few little spots to make moves back and forth.
SPEAKER_07So well, we've done that race for uh nations in the Red Bull X. Yeah, and it's yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, no, but we're saying so much better. Yeah, because uh the the the the those the big boy Red Bulls are a little bit sketchier and uh a lot more impactful for um getting bumped, any mistakes, any like spin like in spinning the car out where the Red Bull it's it promotes a little bit more race. It's like having a Mazda in in that aspect compared to you know the super formula. You know, it it it it can get it's a handful, but it's fun to drive and go, you know, I mean it's yeah.
SPEAKER_08Well too, if we get a physics change.
SPEAKER_06That's the other thing we're gonna have to look at too.
SPEAKER_08Yeah so as soon as that update drops, we're gonna have to try it and see what's if something changed or if it didn't change.
SPEAKER_06If it changes, everybody could be screwed from practice if they can't get a handle on the new the new the new changes. So it's gonna be this is an interesting week coming up.
SPEAKER_07Well, I think they need to change the um you know how they slowed down the the downshifting? Yeah, uh where you could uh they need to speed it up a little bit. Yeah. Um it's a little too artificial or uh yeah, so they need to just speed it up just a little bit. That needs to be one change. Um other than that, uh that that would be my only thing that I hope they really change. I don't know if they're gonna be able to do that.
SPEAKER_08I hope they don't change too much.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, the car's a little bit faster. Group three and group four, because before they slowed them down. Um I don't know where they sit compared to to reality.
SPEAKER_06They need to change the slipstream a bit too. I I I I think they need to go more towards like in this game settings the real slipstream. Yes, I would say that's what we were dealing with in this in the Red Bull Juniors and that, and there's a bit of dirty air. There's some washout here and there, but it's not horrible in the big scheme of things compared to some of the other settings of Slipstream and the way it used to be. And the straight line slipstream is not massive, like you're gonna gain a second on a guy down straightaway. You have to be actually close to get the real benefits of it. It does help a bit being behind someone as you're down straightaway, but with it once you're into a car length, it actually is like you have no barrier, you fly. And if you watch the uh the races uh on the weekend there, you'll see that from the custom lobbies. Um once you get on the car, you the over speed becomes tremendous, but you have to be right on the car to get it. So they need to do that because right now, like, for example, because they slowed the group fours down a lot with the custom slipstream that they put in. If you're not in a slipstream, you're losing a second. Because it is literally that, it gives you like freaking boost down the straightaway. Even if you're like two seconds back almost, it's it's ridiculous.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, it depends on what what race and setting they they have it on. Yeah, some it's just way too strong. Or again, it keeps the average driver somewhat competitive with people who are actually fast.
SPEAKER_06Fix the BOP and you wouldn't have to deal with that.
SPEAKER_08They should be doing that too on this update.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, the BOP, the BOP needs to be picked or fixed, yeah. Definitely. I'll say like their group three needs fixing, but it's it's it's way better than group four. Group four is obviously exhausted right now.
SPEAKER_07Well, I mean, so just take for Fuji this week. You had the 9-11 was competitive, the Ferrari 45A was competitive, the R8. Though those were basically the three cars that were um running this race.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, MR is more dominant for sure, definitely. Uh but in in group four, right now, all it is is a Citron and a Tenza right now.
SPEAKER_07Uh the G70 was competitive. I think that's when Sheld was running was the G70. Yeah, but you know what I mean.
SPEAKER_06It's uh the four-wheel drives are the basically the dominant thing compared. Like there's nothing usable other than that, realistically. I do still think they need to fix it. Unless you're an alien top driver, right? The average Joe, you have to use one of these cars or you're fucked. Yeah, it was basically a citron race. Yeah, that's the problem. Yeah, we other cars can be competitive, but you need to be a really good driver to be able to be competitive in those cars. Um, Plocka was killing it in the Mustang, even. And that and I can't remember where I saw it, but I was thought of somebody who was streaming whether it was a league race or something, and he was driving Plocka was driving the Mustang and he got called out as being so quick in that thing and being so competitive, and they questioned the fact that if he ever got out of that car and drove the actual meta cars, how dominant he would be in lobbies. Because he only drives the Ford.
SPEAKER_04Well, I know Well, that's see, I think right there, I think Todd made your point though. Placca was competitive in the Mustang. Yeah. Placca is a crazy fast driver. And yes, if he used a meta car, he would be very fast too.
SPEAKER_06I I I kind of see guys like him, and and Ploc, Plocka is a great example of like if he was in the meta car, I don't think it'd be so much fun for him, like competitive-wise, because he would be too dominant in that aspect. So he drives a car, he enjoys driving, and it's more of a battle to be competitive there. It's to be more immersed into the racing where like we're like, yeah, everybody likes to win. But if you're just walking away from a field because you're so dominant, you're 10 10 seconds ahead every race, how fun is that? You know what I mean? Like, so like I understand why, and like, but yeah, he plauck it is you're fucking lightning quick, dude.
SPEAKER_09Yeah.
SPEAKER_06It doesn't matter what car, especially to be out lightning quick in that Ford Mustang. Fucking piece of shit car, I'm sorry. I I understand it's uh, but they they need to fix that because it shouldn't be a piece of shit car.
SPEAKER_07Well, they don't need to fix it, they needed to get us the fucking new one. Yes, just like the Corvette.
SPEAKER_04They needed to get us the fucking new one. Fucking A, yes. Should have the new Corvette. We should have the new Mustang.
SPEAKER_08That shit's gotta be coming. It's gotta be coming.
SPEAKER_04We should have the we should have the new Lambo. Yeah. Oh, dude, that's the new sevens. Fuck.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, the new one. Especially if you're doing all these like evil renditions and stuff like that, modern ones. You gotta get all these major manufacturers up to date. Well, or at least within like two or three years.
SPEAKER_07The latest McLaren or uh Aston Martin is from 2012. Yeah, yeah. That's true. Or almost. Yeah, what about the McLaren?
SPEAKER_04I mean, come on.
SPEAKER_07Yeah.
SPEAKER_04I mean, that's crazy.
SPEAKER_07Give us a 720 at least.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, at least. Yeah, something.
SPEAKER_02Something, but hopefully it's coming.
SPEAKER_08I hope so. I hope a big update's gonna be coming towards the finals. Or maybe after the finals.
SPEAKER_07I wonder if not so much the money dried up from Abu Dhabi just because they didn't have the event there. Shit is now being delayed. Because I don't know, maybe they just wanted to showcase their, you know, being the mecha for gaming and shit, and had all these big plans and now it's all. It's almost 2027, goddammit. We want you know, LMU's kicking ass. It is. Uh uh a lot of people are jumping ship and why why do you like why do we think that is?
SPEAKER_04Oh, because they have all the new cars.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_04And tracks. And tracks. And the tracks we want to be on. Like I I'm sorry. No, no, it looks great. Uh you know, I I don't know why we don't have Road America, Silverston, Hockenheim. Hockenheim would be a great track. Coda. Coda. You know, there there are so many um uh shoot. What's the track that's gonna be Formula One's at next week? Oh uh blah blah blah. The Dutch track. Um can't believe I've got name just popped right out of my head. Hunkaro ring. Yeah, yeah. Um banking when you're in.
SPEAKER_07Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Uh no, not the no, that's Spain. That's the Madrid ring that they're still haven't finished.
SPEAKER_08Oh, they aren't when they go there. They're going there this year.
SPEAKER_04They have twenty-eight days or something like that to finish the track. I am worried that there could be pieces of the track coming up because the the asphalt hasn't had time to cure. I'm not joking about that when I say that. I am I am so worried because it looks like they pretty much just got done laying the asphalt. Like it's man, it's gonna be wild.
SPEAKER_07Well, again, with this being a Japanese game or company, you would think Twin Vantage would definitely scanned it. Yeah, and they scanned it years ago. So, like, they have all the data and everything they need to implement it in the game. I don't know why it takes fucking so long to get it.
SPEAKER_08Do you think they're holding some stuff back for GT8? Some stuff. Why?
SPEAKER_04I've done this is I've gotten to the point now where I don't know that they're holding anything back for GT8. I think it's a mindset.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_04I think it's a mindset, and they don't they so pardon my but you you've got so many tracks that we already have that we don't use.
SPEAKER_07That's their mindset, is probably well, we don't use half of these anyway, so why implement more?
SPEAKER_04But why don't you use them? You just don't use them, you haven't used them.
SPEAKER_08Dude, there's so many we can have such a dailies every week.
SPEAKER_04No reason there is no imagination when it comes to the department that is making daily races or thinking about competition. There is zero thought that goes into it.
SPEAKER_07What they really need to do is hire Tijny, hire Mikael, have those two with their team develop daily races. Because I feel they they have a better idea of what the community wants. Yes. Agreed.
SPEAKER_06They'd be they'd be better off to suspend the random generator with the list of cars and tracks and shit like that and come and and put shit together that way that would be, you know, I mean Yeah, because whatever they're doing right now is failing.
SPEAKER_04Oh yeah. But again, we have to look at Gran Turismo when it comes to the amount of people that pardon me, I've got a cough.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, because I haven't raised dailies in so long. This year.
SPEAKER_04I haven't raised dailies because they there is no interest in the day. Number one, because of driving standards. Number two, because they're not interesting. They just are not interesting. I look at them and I go, that's going to be a wreckfest. Or that's just going to be boring. You know, that's going to be a race where everybody stretches out.
SPEAKER_08There's been some good ones, but fucking for the biggest.
SPEAKER_04But again, there's only 12% of us that do racing.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, Catalunya was good. I want uh Hypers at Spa. When are we getting that?
SPEAKER_04Hypers at Spa would be great. And then throw in a couple of VGTs and a group C and yeah.
SPEAKER_08As long as that's just a hypers. There's so much like they did for Watkins and Lamont.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. Like the possibility with just a couple of categories of cars and tracks that they're in the game, there's enough that you could put some really great races together. It's just like and be original and not be repetitive. You know what I mean? Like they go over the world.
SPEAKER_04How about you follow the IMSA series? Yeah. Or you follow the WEC, and why don't you have badass races every week following.
SPEAKER_08You could have great races if you followed the series, if it was like so many people who watch racing plan would want to do those because they watch the race and they're like, oh, this race is coming up. Ooh, that look, yeah, let's roaster cup you can follow up.
SPEAKER_04Follow the Mazda Roadster Cup. iRacing does.
SPEAKER_06iRacing does that. Whatever week of racing is, and I get they they replicate that race in the game.
SPEAKER_07Well, Mazda has or iRacing has every track, but you can make your own. Mazda's a huge sponsor, so like put it at you know, six or eight real tracks, and every week, every Saturday is the fucking Mazda Roaster.
SPEAKER_05That would be cool.
SPEAKER_06I think that there's at least three or four of the tracks in the game that the Mazda's or Mazda-like races happen at. Like, why not do that? Like you said, like Rupert do the Daytona. So you're the Mazda's at the Mazda's at Daytona. Another GRE6 cup.
SPEAKER_08Yes. Get the new GR Cup car. Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, GR uh a GR Cup race. You could do you they can do that. They choose not to do that.
SPEAKER_08I wonder why they don't have that car in the game yet.
SPEAKER_06If anybody out there like listening has never seen it, it's mind boggling. Um check out like Mazda Cup at Daytona Road course when the everything's there. And tell me that does not look like something if you were in the behind one of the Mazda roadsters in the game, how fun that would be. Because it's i i if you watch at Daytona, especially, it is a grand uh Gran Turismo daily race. The bumping, the banging, the way that that series is, it's insane, and it's so fu amazing to watch. Um and to be part of it like the way that they they did the one time, oh incredible. They just never do it.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, there's a lot of avenues they have to do. We need to partition.
SPEAKER_06We need to petition this like into the game as a as a regular thing.
SPEAKER_07People, if you if you have Twitter, I advise you to start and just start fucking bombing them with ideas like what Sweet Cherry said.
SPEAKER_08We just need to keep fucking hammering at them.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. They want them out of the way.
SPEAKER_08If they revamp daily races, oh they need have your road car races for, you know, A. Just keep that as the road cars. You have a group four category, group three category, and then you have the high down force category.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, you could rotate it every couple, like rotate through superform, uh, red bull cars, group one.
SPEAKER_08So you have a category for each one, because so many people like group three, so many people like group four. I like high down force.
SPEAKER_06You know, you don't even really even if you don't rant revamp the dailies, just throw it in like the Toyota Cup like you used to all the time. Throw make the Mazda Cup, make the like whatever sponsor cup. You know, you like whoever's paying the biggest bucks, you know what I mean? Like, who cares? I wouldn't care. Just give us the races that are fucking different.
SPEAKER_08Do you think their servers could handle it?
SPEAKER_06Oh, yeah. They have the servers that they use for uh for the for uh plus they updated it not too long ago, didn't they? Yeah, the World Series has its separate servers and they don't use them in except for in between. So why aren't they doing uh like another race like the Toyota Cup, the Mazda Cup, or whatever kind of sponsorship deal you want to do? In Porsche Cup, you there's so many options.
SPEAKER_08Oh, dude, yeah.
SPEAKER_06You only have to run them on the weekends, realistically, if you want, you know what I mean? Yeah, that would be a treatment.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_06Saturday and Sunday, boom, or or and or whatever it is, and you do it, you know what I mean? For and then you shut them off. Oh, they're we're canceling the the the cups this weekend because we have the World Series races.
SPEAKER_07No problem.
SPEAKER_06You just scheduled something. It's all scheduled, yeah.
SPEAKER_07But it should be every weekend. There should be some special event. And you're so many people.
SPEAKER_08Endurance events, sprint event. Oh, yeah. Give it to me.
SPEAKER_07Get rid of the sprint event. We we we don't need a 10 or 12 lap race. Nothing like that. Yeah, like a 20-lapse.
SPEAKER_04And if you are gonna do a 12-lap race at Fuji, guess what you gotta do?
SPEAKER_08Because you would have a lot of people that would want to do that, though. That don't have to be a good thing.
SPEAKER_04Tireware and fuel. Yep. Or if you're gonna do a sprint race, put us on mediums or soft.
SPEAKER_08Oh, yeah. Yeah. Or make that sprint race dynamic.
SPEAKER_06Even in a sprint race. Make it a Fuji. You can make it dynamic in a race B. Who cares? Yeah, it's a medium tire race, but guess what? We might throw rain at the end.
SPEAKER_08Yeah. Exactly.
SPEAKER_06You know, six lap six lap races. We need night race. We need more night races. Yeah, we do. Yeah, night races. Dynamic time of day, even like the transitions.
SPEAKER_08Like amazing.
SPEAKER_06Like look at the transitions we've been having in the Red Bull Juniors. Amazing.
SPEAKER_08Well it would be dope. Go ahead. Finish.
SPEAKER_06I was just saying like last night, like or that it was Saturday. Uh the uh the uh at Blue Moon where it goes night and then like the the lights reflecting off everything and the fucking plane flying overhead. Like that was incredible visions. You know, like do stuff like that. Who cares about like it's a nice sunny day or just a partly cloudy day, that's all you see.
SPEAKER_08Yeah.
SPEAKER_06You know, change that so that you're like you gotta be on on on point because your break markers and shadows move and shit like that because of the time of day.
SPEAKER_04Nope. I want more I want more scapes with with uh cherry blossoms in the background.
SPEAKER_08I do like those. Hey, everybody.
SPEAKER_04Did anybody did anybody see anything from uh Laguna Seca Car Week?
SPEAKER_08No, did not.
SPEAKER_04Monterey? We have lost a we have lost a Mazda 787. Oh yeah, burned. Burnt up. There's now there were three of them left. Now there is one of them left. Is that the one in Fuji? I don't know. I don't know, but there is only one left after that. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Uh put that thing in a museum then.
SPEAKER_08Yeah. I wonder if it's a little bit more. Well, I think it's at the muse.
SPEAKER_06I think it's at the Fuji Museum. Yeah, I think it's the museum.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, yeah. Yeah, just leave it. Don't touch it.
SPEAKER_04Um Cadillac unveiled its new hypercar.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, dude.
SPEAKER_04By that I mean road hyper cars.
SPEAKER_08Dude, that shit was crazy. It looks so much.
SPEAKER_04It looks almost exactly like the race car.
SPEAKER_08Dude. Fucking insane.
SPEAKER_04Um Lamborghini revealed the new Revelto.
SPEAKER_08Oh, the SV.
SPEAKER_04The SV. Good looking car. I love Lamborghini.
SPEAKER_08I didn't see it yet.
SPEAKER_04I mean, uh it's it's a it's a good Ravalto. Yeah. Yeah, it's it's it's damn good looking. So, I mean, that there's some Oh, what about that new McLaren? That new McLaren looks pretty good. And it's a yeah, it's a six-speed gated manual. That's totally cool. Holy shit. Totally cool. Because I think they're realizing, I think companies are starting to realize that uh purists want a six-speed.
SPEAKER_08Oh yeah, and they'll pay the money.
SPEAKER_04And they'll pay the money for the six-speed. That's like, I don't know if it's still happening, but Porsche, uh, what model was it? It might have just been like Herrera had a six-speed available for it, too. Six-speed manual that you could get for it. At the time it w it's like literally one of the only high performance vehicles that you could get with a six-speed. I mean, for a long time, Cadillac had the the CTSV. This will do, manual. With the with the manual in it, yeah.
SPEAKER_08Well, it's nice too, because everyone bitched so much about the um the Nismo Z not having a manual. They brought that back. Same with when they had the Supra, the Mark V. They bitched enough, they brought that. Just gotta keep bitching.
SPEAKER_04Car manual, well, and look at this. Car manually.
SPEAKER_05It's like well, it's not a good one. I think one that fits with fucking manual gearboxes for Christ's sakes. Like, what the fuck?
SPEAKER_08Dude, like the GR86 manual gearbox feels so good shifting through those gears.
SPEAKER_04The problem, the problem is manufacturers get on these. Oh, this is popular.
SPEAKER_08Yeah.
SPEAKER_04This is popular. Uh well, it's a small segment.
SPEAKER_07Again, it's like it's like 12-13% by manual still.
SPEAKER_04Well, well, when it comes to when it comes to performance cars, though, again, most a lot of performance cars are are thought of more as car people cars. And I'm not talking about hyper cars. I'm not talking about hyper cars. I'm talking about the GR86, I'm talking about the uh a regular Porsche. Um if they if I guarantee if they had a regular Corvette with a six feet, car guys would be picking those up. Oh, fuck how that car doesn't come out of it. So you're talking performance, performance cars that are loved by car people, most of them would like to have a manual transmission. I mean, come on, there for a long time, you the Ford Focus SG S T G C whatever, you could get a six-speed in it.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, yeah. It only came to the case.
SPEAKER_05That's what I'm saying. That's what I'm laughing about. It's like it's a fucking Ford Focus, whether it's five quick, it's still it's like more cost effective to build a manual than an automatic.
SPEAKER_06Well, that's what I mean. Like for years, like automatic transmissions were way more expensive. Like you tell me that like the the average manual gearbox is more expensive than the technology going into the fucking automatic year?
SPEAKER_04Yes, and I'll tell you why, because now the engines communicate with the transmissions. So the engine, the fuel, the fuel mapping, everything is related to the to the transmission also. So it makes it more difficult for a manufacturer to put in a manual transmission because it doesn't talk back to the it doesn't talk back to the engine. This is another reason that newer car transmissions are such shit.
SPEAKER_07Well, everything's dry by wire. So you have you know no throttle linkage, it's all fucking computers, the braking on Corvettes, it's all computer, it's not fucking you know, it's like sitting in the simulator. It is. Everything is all simulated and electric power steering.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Mm-hmm. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06So like like look at like make mechanics these days, it's like they don't fix anything, they just plug a computer in and swap what it does.
SPEAKER_05Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_06You know what I mean? They don't even fucking know. Like when you got an old school mechanic, you fucking you can listen to the car and go, oh yeah, that's this, it's that, black boom, fixed. You know what I mean? Like everything is like a computer, and what happens if a computer breaks or your car is fucked. You know, like it's like for example, like I I thought was really strange is Lincoln was has a uh cars, some of their cars, um, they don't have door handles on the inside. It's an electric button.
SPEAKER_03Oh what? Yeah, you push.
SPEAKER_06And unlike Tesla, Tesla at least has the fucking re release fucking pull on their doors. So if they the power goes off, the the the butt that like you can pull the thing and open the door. Lincoln doesn't have that. You can't if the fucking power goes on there, you're trapped in the car. Unlocked or not.
SPEAKER_09Hell no.
SPEAKER_06It's you can't get the fuck out. And guess what they do? They sell these cars to old people, which leave the lights on all the time, fucking drain the battery. Now you get in the car to start the car, the fucking battery gets is drained, you can't get back out of the fucking car. You know what I mean? Like the stupid shit like that.
SPEAKER_08You know, like it's yeah, there's too much electronics. It's gotten too crazy. Yeah, I'm fucking inching, inching just to get a manual.
SPEAKER_06That's mainly, yeah. Isn't technology say, for example, like even like the weapon or not, but like an electrical explosion of any sports, like sending off like any EMP blast because of it, would destroy like in most cars.
SPEAKER_08Oh yeah. You'd have to go old school.
SPEAKER_06Giant solar flares like the came and could fucking destroy all cars. You know, in a in if you you know, if you look at it. Like it's like they we need to go back to fucking actual fucking engines and shit. Where it's like there the only power you got is the battery to start that freaking ignition.
SPEAKER_08Oh yeah. But then it sucks because it's all about emissions with the EPA. So you can control any emissions with all the computers.
SPEAKER_04Big over $600 million or $800 million. Yeah, it's gotta be not worth it if it's not. It's not worth it, yeah. So it's like so I I I I played the and we were talking about it, and I was like, you know what? I am buying old cars, and by that I mean I am like I am buying like 1970s Ford or Chevy pickup trucks. He's like, oh, I love Hollis because he's obsessed with like the 80s and Japanese car designs in the 80s. He was like, I would love to have like an 88 Toyota Camry. Yeah, right, like things that have don't have any electronics on them at all for the most part.
SPEAKER_06That would be actually kind of cool if you're a cajillionaire kind of thing. You did money to spend. Here's the problem, but by all the great fucking petrol cars, basically.
SPEAKER_04The government wants to be able to well, they are gonna be able to control your cars now.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, they're putting cameras that look at you the whole time.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, I'm not getting rid of my car that I got and getting a new one. Keeping it.
SPEAKER_06Well, what was it? I saw on the news there. The fucking buddy got his car, he missed a car payment, they fucking shut his car off. He couldn't drive his car. What? That's I don't know. Yeah, it's like so that's like they uh something I don't know if it was the exact one payment, whatever, but something happened. And the the the the comp like the manufacturer, whatever, because they could threw the computer, they shut his car down. And they basically repossessed, he couldn't use his car anymore because of like finance, whatever it is, like you get repo.
SPEAKER_08He ain't gonna be able to hide it.
SPEAKER_06Put it in the garage down, then they they yeah, they just shut it off, he couldn't use it. And it's a big brick. Yeah, exactly. Bricked it. You know, yeah.
SPEAKER_04Well, and when it comes down to it, I know I know everybody talks about not everybody, but a lot of people talk about self-driving cars. Self-driving cars would be cool and you could go at great speeds because you know it's not a human driving. I'm sorry, but humans make more errors than computers do. It's just the truth. Here's the problem though. In order for that to happen, everybody who has a car would have to have the most up-to-date self-driving car for it to work right. You couldn't have people driving some cars and cars driving other cars. No, no, you've got to have because they all have to communicate with each other. Yeah, the car in front of you, the car next to you, they all have to communicate at the same time to know how far they are apart and what the braking distances need. Like, like it would be cool, don't don't get me wrong, but using the camera systems that they are using now on all of the cars that have a self-driving feature, that don't work. They don't work, they don't recognize everything. Cameras don't recognize everything. The cars would have to be able to communicate with each other to have a true self-driving society. Yeah, that's the only way it works.
SPEAKER_06It's all one, it's controlled decorated by one thing, it's one computer coping, all talking together, high mind. It's just so you the car will slow and let the other one turn in and pull it, you know. Not yeah, you can't.
SPEAKER_04Well, and the thing is all the cars would know the all the cars would know where the other car is going long before the other car was going there.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, yeah. And and calculating anything, any malfunctions, and uh all calculating multiple times per second, kind of knowing what can happen, where to go. Like it, yeah. Exactly. It's all right.
SPEAKER_04I mean, so it's never I mean, the the ability for that to happen is still a hundred years away.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, which also leads to even more AI taking over. I doubt it.
SPEAKER_07I probably by 2030, 2035. I don't think so.
SPEAKER_04I don't I don't see that. I think the technology I I think we're predicting, like we did in the 60s, that we're gonna be in flying cars.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, no, I I I I kind of agree with that. I think the technology could be there. I just don't think society will be there. Like the walls are definitely driving. Well, and you have to remember the biggest population that doesn't trust computers that way that need regular cars, I want to do it myself, kind of thing.
SPEAKER_04I can't, you know, I mean, like, unless the government is giving away cars, it's not gonna happen. And the infrastructure can't handle it. Yeah. Because again, most of those cars are gonna be electric, and there are not enough electric charging stations, and there are not uh for the average American, we'll put it this way, because it's and even the average Australian too. Let's be honest, America and Australia are both giant countries that that a lot of driving is done in. You don't have we don't have the the fueling infrastructure, and you don't have cars that fuel up fast enough. Like there's no instant fueling when it comes to a battery.
SPEAKER_08No, I bet they'll figure it out though. That's the point.
SPEAKER_04That's plug in your attached. Yeah, that's the biggest limitation right now is battery uh charging and battery life. That's those are the biggest limitations. And when you really get deep into it and start looking at electric cars, they want you to run between 20 and 80%. Don't charge over 80%, don't drop below 20% because you'll ruin the battery. Yep. So so you only have 60% of the battery that you can use.
SPEAKER_08Exactly.
SPEAKER_04Think about that. 60% of the battery. Yeah, and think about this. When you park an electric car, and it doesn't matter if it's super cold or super hot, that car is always maintaining the temperature of the battery. So it's like you poke a hole, poke a small hole in your gas tank, and you just let the energy leak out. That is what's happening when you park your electric car.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, but what is the UK and California trying to do by 2035? No gas. Yeah, they're still pushing that shit. They are, they're trying to control the way people fucking move free.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, when they when they when they the way people live. Yeah, when it happens and the infrastructure crash crashes, they're gonna have they're gonna have shit, like troubles. Like that's like Jim said, the infrastructure for it all is not there. I think the technology is starting to get there and it'll be there. But I think like the infrastructure like in society in general, it would just won't be there for that kind of thing for no because you'll have to have you'll have to have specific roads for self-driving cars.
SPEAKER_04Because again, you can't have somebody driving his 88 Chevette or his 83 Chevet down the road, and you have a bunch of self driving cars because they just can't communicate. You know what you you is the government gonna come what what's gonna happen if the government comes out and says all All regular cars are going to be illegal by 3035. You have to get rid of them. They're trying to do that. I can see it happening with the well the di the difference is the difference is going, well, this is what's going to happen with new cars. But Po folk, you know, us who don't have large amounts of money, what, we're just going to be left not being able to go anywhere?
SPEAKER_07Looks what California's trying to do. They want a taxi by the mile.
SPEAKER_08Dude, that's insane.
SPEAKER_07How much do you drive? Yeah.
SPEAKER_04And that's because of electric cars.
SPEAKER_08That's why everyone's moving out of California. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04California is becoming a I mean, California is becoming a failed state slowly because.
SPEAKER_07If you move out of California, five or ten percent of your net worth goes to them if you move out of their state. So if you're worth a billion fucking dollars. Yeah, fuck that.
SPEAKER_04That right there is not going to be, that is not going to be, it hasn't been fought yet, but there's going to be a billionaire that's going to fight that. Yeah, I don't see anything through. And it's not going to hold up.
SPEAKER_08Can't. Yeah, exactly.
SPEAKER_04Well, look at look at this, too. And with that, if they vote that tax in, it's a quotes, a one-time tax on billionaires in California. But in the reading of the law, it also says, or the Congress or the Assembly of California can decide if they want to do it again. And if they're going to tax billionaires, they're going to tax millionaires, they're going to tax hundred thousandaires. Oh, yeah. They're going to tax everybody when it comes down to it.
SPEAKER_07Same in Illinois. All the big companies in Illinois have all locked. Look at Washington. They're all going to Indiana or they're all going to Wisconsin.
SPEAKER_04Boeing is moving to, I think, North Carolina. There is another huge company that built components for the uh 787 Dreamliner. They're moving out of state. I don't remember where they're going to, but it's, and all of that has to do with what's happening in Seattle with their with their Democratic Socialist Communist mayor.
SPEAKER_08Oh, yeah. Now they're trying to get her out. Now they're trying to get her out.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, who tried to hide the fact that there was a gang shooting, and it was a gang shooting. They like to call it a mass shooting, but it was two dudes who didn't like each other from different gangs that were shooting at each other and shot a bunch of people up at a market.
SPEAKER_08Yep. They got caught in the crossfire.
SPEAKER_04They got caught in the crossfire. Stop trying to make it about guns. Think about what certain parts of society.
SPEAKER_08Well, then they want to get rid of the police.
SPEAKER_04And then you want to get oh, that's what's even better. She gets rid of the chief of police. And they want to get rid of prisons. Well, what if what if my daughter gets raped? Well, there will be stuff in place for that. No, but you're getting rid of prisons and you're getting rid of police. How how what do you mean? And they can't answer that question.
SPEAKER_08I gotta kill a motherfucker.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, that they can't answer that question when you go, so what if somebody gets raped or murdered? Well, then we'll we'll have things in place. What are those things?
SPEAKER_07Oh, the mayor of Chicago, Brandon Johnson, the same way, defund the police. Prisons are racist. Well, he will be voted out. But yet this guy's security detail is a hundred and fifty Chicago police officers. But yet he wants to defund, and fucking prisons are racist and jails are racist, and it doesn't do society any good to arrest people.
SPEAKER_08But yeah, he's got the protection.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, exactly. The hypocrisy of these fucking people is mind-boggling, and yet fucking idiots fucking vote for these people.
SPEAKER_04Well, and here's the best, here's the best part of it. So most of the people in the socialist party, in the communist party, stop calling it socialists, it's communists. Yeah, it's just a they're like, we're for the working man. Almost all of them have college degrees from major colleges, and you chose gender studies instead of engineering. And no, you can't get a job, so now you need somebody to help you. I need somebody to help me out because I can't make any money. No, you can't make money because you're a fucking moron. Yep. I'm sorry, we don't need people with with gender studies degrees. We need people who are in engineering, we need plain people that are gonna be mechanics, we need people that are gonna be contractors. That's what we need. The false the falsification that our society has placed upon children or the the not that what's it's academia in the left, dude.
SPEAKER_07Every professor's a fucking tool.
SPEAKER_04The lying to our children stating that you have to go to college, you have to go to college, and if you don't get a c go to college, then you'll never become something. That's a lie. I think that's a good thing.
SPEAKER_07That is a lie. Get a degree that means nothing, get in a hundred thousand plus dollars debt that's compounded.
SPEAKER_08Yep.
SPEAKER_07And that's the American dream, that that's what they sell you.
SPEAKER_08Dude, where I worked last, there were so many people that worked there that had that. They couldn't do anything with their degree, so they end up in this normal whatever job.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I know I know a person that works at SCP who's a piece of shit, and I can say that because he doesn't listen to the show, who who got a degree in English. Oh, God. But didn't but didn't want to become a teacher.
SPEAKER_08That was pointless.
SPEAKER_04Why do you get a degree in English if you're not gonna use it, you dumb fuck? So instead you go into uh you go in and you work at a branch and you destroy that branch because you have no work ethic. Yeah, fuck that. And your employees catch you sleeping at your desk. Just saying, I'm not naming names, but I did. Yeah. Yeah. Oh yeah, and takes hunting trips in some of the most important important parts of the year that need him to be at the branch. Yeah. Yeah. That's been going on since I worked there. Jesus. That's what happens when academia thinks well, when academia takes over and makes everybody think that the only way to be good and make lots of money is being like them. How do you convince somebody that getting a degree in gender studies or getting a degree in uh in uh uh ethnic studies of any sort, where what are you gonna do with that? What are you gonna do? Because I guarantee they're playing a professor. Yeah, that's great, but is that gonna pay you any money?
SPEAKER_08No, but you know, I'll But the government gives me money so I can live so I can tell people what to do and what to think.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, and if the and if the government doesn't give if we don't tax the people heavily, then the government can't give me money. You know, the classic saying that the DSA has right now is basically a Karl Marx saying that says, well, you go and you can, you know, you work as much as you need to, but not not as much as you know, not too much. You just work as much as you want. Well, it doesn't work in society. That doesn't work in society, I'm sorry, because why the fuck do I even want to work?
SPEAKER_07Yeah, I don't want to work. According to Elon, Elon Musk, he said by like 2035 money's not gonna be an issue for people. Nobody's gonna you're not gonna Why is he giving all of his fortune away? No, but he's a trillionaire. Yeah, bots, AI, and bot will do everything, and money won't be a necessity, according to him.
SPEAKER_04So farms magically farms magically grow well the robots.
SPEAKER_07It'll be robots doing everything. Yeah, but who pays who pays for the seeds?
SPEAKER_08We won't need to, they just get them for free.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Who pays for the electricity? Where do we get free electricity from?
SPEAKER_08Because robots will be running the electricity companies.
SPEAKER_07They'll control everything.
SPEAKER_08They'll control it. You get free electricity.
SPEAKER_04So we end up with wall-e people.
SPEAKER_08We end up with a bunch of big fat people watching YouTube, eating snacks.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, and we'll we'll have robots do everything. Clean our house and be our you know, optimist.
SPEAKER_06We'll become like a movie i idiocracy girlfriend. Yeah, it's idiocracy. Yeah. But with technology.
unknownYeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_06Technology will keep us going, but we'll be stupid and happen.
SPEAKER_04Let's let's be let's be let's let's look at this. Idiocracy is how old?
SPEAKER_08Dude, like, isn't it 20 years old?
SPEAKER_04Okay, so predicting our future. 20, I would say. What were the shoes did that everybody wore in that movie? Chuck Taylor's. Crocs.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_04Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Look at the amount of Crocs people are wearing now. Oh my god, dude. It's got I got a couple of friends that wear them, yep. Out and about I've I've never in the world out and about.
SPEAKER_08Like, okay, if if you guess what?
SPEAKER_04If you have crocs for your day or your garden wear or your indoor elsewhere crocs. Or your garage shoes, that's completely different. But no, people wear them out like it's a fashion stuff. They have no they have flair that they put on crocs, like buttons and stuff like that.
SPEAKER_07My buddy has some Wu Tang ones.
SPEAKER_08Shut the fuck up. Wu Tang has crocs?
SPEAKER_04I'm sure your buddies are a nice guy, but your buddies are fucking faggot.
SPEAKER_06Indoor shit. I've never had crocs. I I had crocs I used to wear, and I would wear them out on occasion, not for any fashion only, and I'll be honest, because I was lazy as fuck. Oh yeah. I just fucking walked into the car and drove to the store.
SPEAKER_07My buddy wears them every day pretty much.
SPEAKER_06It was other laziness, and that's what like it.
SPEAKER_04That drives me nuts. That drives me because that's what it is. The the the children I oh boy, they would go into these kids these days. But what what do kids wear? Kids wear my kids wear nice. Sweatpants, they wear sweatpants, and and what I would think would be stuff you either wear to the gym or you wear around the house, they wear it around like fashion.
SPEAKER_08Oh, they wear jammies.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, they wear pajamas. Uh-uh. Sorry, I had kids. You're putting pants on. Not gonna happen.
SPEAKER_08I was like, what?
SPEAKER_07Well, remember when flying in the in the 70s, eighties, you would get dressed up with your parents. It was like a now, yeah, kid kids are in fucking pajamas and shit.
SPEAKER_05And people are taking socks and shoes off, like toes.
SPEAKER_06My kids don't fucking break people's toes. But you get thrown off the plane by the air marshals because you're causing a disturbance.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I yeah, the the the the amount of relaxation that is put upon people now is insane. Like just that nobody cares. I mean, you know, in the nineteen sixties, people men would go out in suits and a hat.
SPEAKER_08Yeah. With a briefcase.
SPEAKER_04But but the cultural revolution happened in the late sixties and changed all that. The hippies fucked them. Fuck them liberals.
SPEAKER_06Well even like in the 60s, like you even if you didn't work in an office, like even like say the average blue collars, even back then, were a a colored shirt.
SPEAKER_08Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. Yeah, they were getting dirty mechanics. Like they were nice collared shirts of sorts, you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_08It's like dickies.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, but a man non-one income can support a family of fucking a wife and a couple of kids.
SPEAKER_08Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_04And what's funny is you could own a house even though that interest rate was 15 to 25%. Yeah, but that bank still own a house.
SPEAKER_07Bankers are like, huh, we need to get women working. We need more money.
SPEAKER_06Interest rates are way, say, lower than that, but you can't afford it because like everything costs way too much.
SPEAKER_08Half a million dollars. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_08For a basic house.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_06And you're still paying fucking uh like if you take a mortgage out for like for that, you're still paying fucking extravagant monthly mortgage payments.
SPEAKER_08Oh, yeah. Do people I know people paying five fucking grand for mortgage? Yes.
SPEAKER_06Uh my parents, we moved from Toronto, uh north of Toronto. My parents bought a house in like uh in uh $89.90, and they bought it for $135,000. Nice house property, and at the time their mortgage was still only like three, four hundred dollars a month.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Well, you have to think about this. A thirty-year loan at fucking in 1976, my parents bought 20 acres of property in California for $15,000. Wow. And that was expensive. Wow. When they sold it so many years later, they made a very healthy profit on that. I bet a very healthy profit on that.
SPEAKER_03God damn it.
SPEAKER_04And then they went up to Washington and they purchased six acres. This is way out of this is in the woods. It's a 2,500 square foot house with six acres. They paid $140,000 for the house. Wow. $140,000 for six acres in the woods in a $2,500 square foot house. Now, now because people have discovered that area, it is increased. Skyrocketing. Yeah. Yeah. When when my parents pass away and we sell the property, there will be a very large lump sum going to my brother, sister, and I.
SPEAKER_08Nice.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, um, a buddy of mine, his uh parents bought a house in Vegas for like $120,000. This was God, mid-90s pool and everything. They were only there for three years because they hated it. But Vegas just started growing rapidly and shit, and they made like $150,000 selling it. Yeah, dude, the the It was crazy how much they fucking made on this house in just a couple years. Just because people Vegas was starting to boom and shit like that.
SPEAKER_06Well yeah, my my my buddy in high school, his dad's dad, in like I guess like the sixties or so, bought like fifty, sixty acres of land north of Toronto. Middle nowhere, you know, farmland of sorts. And uh they ended up selling it. My and before he died, he sold it and they got fucking like ten million dollars. And they they paid nothing for it because it it by that time in like the late seventies and eighties, uh the uh the land was at north basically the north edge of Toronto and all the it became all the industrial area in that. So it became developed and became worth millions, and then when he died, the money went to my buddy's dad, who then turned around and bought like ten houses up in Barrie, Ontario, north of Toronto, where we end up becoming the commute area for years later, and he bought them all for like fifty, sixty thousand dollars, kept them you know fixed over the years, renting them out of it, and then sold them for over half a million dollars each.
SPEAKER_04Well, I've I've got a friend whose father bought and sold property in in uh the Tracy Mantica area of California and made a very large amount of money doing that because at the time he bought it, you know, it was farmland that was or not sometimes not even farmland, it was just land. So it was super, super cheap, bought up hundreds of acres, sold them, and made made it made a tight profit. Made a tidy profit. I mean, made a very good profit on that. Like lots and lots of money.
SPEAKER_06My buddy, after all this, like his dad and his dad's dad fucking did all that shit. Like he's I say is he's an asshole. He's an asshole prick. He turned out to be not a good friend at all, kind of thing, in the end. Um but he's set for life. The guy's a fucking multi-millionaire, fucking lazy piece of shit, no good out for himself. Not naming names. Um, but you if you ever heard any of this and you you know you would know who it is. Um living in California, living basically the the dream in California, not doing anything but being living off millions, right?
SPEAKER_04So well that's you know, I was like, you know, when when we were fantasizing, because it's always fun to fantasize, it's like it's like we we want to move out of the city, still be sort of close to it, move out of the city, have property so I can have a small little farm and be as self-sustaining as possible, which the government hates. You know, here in Oregon, you cannot collect rainwater because rainwater actually belongs to the state. The water falling out of the sky belongs to the state. So if you collect it, it's illegal. Yeah. How does that work? Yeah, well, it's if you live in if you live in the city of Portland and you're getting Portland water, they charge you by the square foot of your property because for rain.
SPEAKER_06What the fuck? Is there is there a percentage for air?
SPEAKER_04Right.
SPEAKER_06I know, really.
SPEAKER_04You know, there will be at some point. Yeah, it's it's just absolutely crazy. So I mean, I was like, get some property, go as self-sustaining as possible. So I'm growing all of my own vegetables, pickling all of my own, and I mean, if I've got, you know, that a couple hundred million dollars, I can do that.
SPEAKER_09Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_04I do my own thing. So I am working all the time. I'm not a lazy piece of shit. Plus, I can do things that I want to do. I can have a giant, you know, I can have a giant uh shop that I can work on cars and do all of that good stuff too. You know, that's that's my way of thinking. Like, do as much as I can to keep myself busy and not have to deal with anybody else. That's the dream.
SPEAKER_07Well, again, the average average car payment now in America is 785, and the average loan is 782 months. That's just crazy. Six years. That's just so wild.
SPEAKER_08Dude, they're pushing like 84, even like they are what is it, 96 months now.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_08It's fucking crazy. Dude, like the new the new Q7 cover. Dude, the new Q7? Top 80,000 to about a hundred thousand for a Q7. That's not even the S. $100,000. It's fucking insane. Insane.
SPEAKER_04Well, everybody, we're welcome.
SPEAKER_08Real quick, did you guys hear about the Ferrari Luce that went up for auction?
SPEAKER_04Uh, did anybody actually buy it?
SPEAKER_08Yes. Guess how much?
SPEAKER_04$25,000.
SPEAKER_08$40 million motherfucking dollars. Forty million dollars for a Ferrari Luce. What the fuck? People were scratching their heads just going, what the fuck is this old man doing?
SPEAKER_06So more money than he than he was. Oh, yeah, just swinging it.
SPEAKER_08Just swinging it. Just like everybody.
SPEAKER_04Why would you want to have oh oh it's the first one? Who cares?
SPEAKER_08Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Wow. That's what is it, David Lee?
SPEAKER_08No. It's some old, old dude. I don't know his name. Old white guy.
SPEAKER_07Wow. David Lee who sells you shitty fucking jewelry.
SPEAKER_08Oh, he's got some nice Ferrari's. He's got a nice glass.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, lol. Yeah. And he sells junk jewelry.
unknownDamn.
SPEAKER_07Damn, damn, dying.
SPEAKER_04Well, did you know that? There was a uh one of the Cobra Daytona coupes sold for 42.9 million dollars. But again, there you go. That's an actual car.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, that's an actual car. 40 million for what?
SPEAKER_06Yeah, that's just that's just stupidity. People with too much money that don't know what to do with it. Well, they're saying that's a good thing.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, whatever.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, exactly. That's the other thing, too, is like spending that much money on it and having a possession like that is a huge tax write-off for the money. And I mean, uh, instead, so if you drop it 40 million, that's 40 million less tax you have to pay too. On the interest compounds, things like that, that you have to say. Yeah, so yeah, so I can understand wasting the money because of that. And you gotta probably like to get a rebate back on it, so rebate. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_04Got my $5,000 rebate check from the state of California.
SPEAKER_07I think they got rid of that because they were losing too much money.
SPEAKER_04They were losing money. Did they get rebounded already? Yeah, yeah, they did. Just like they've stopped all EVs and hybrids from being able to use the non-meter parking. Uh the no, the all lane. The HOV lanes. Yeah. Jesus, fuck. Yeah. Yeah. They they're like, no, because it used to be you buy one of those cars, they give you an HOV lane sticker that you put on your car and you can drive it. Nope, not even nope, no, no, no.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, and and he and one of the perks is you could uh park for free, meter parking and shit. Got rid of that. Yeah, yeah, yep. Again, they lost too much revenue, so California couldn't uh rob people. So that's again why they're now looking to charge you per mile.
SPEAKER_04Oh, that bob shell.
SPEAKER_08Good night, everybody. Great episode, boys. All right, we'll see you next week. McNaughty will be joining us to talk more about the next season of NRL season eight.
