Will:

Nother realm is a narrative driven tabletop role playing game podcast. For this season, we're using the Dungeons and Dragons five e rules. Kinda. Sometimes the language on this podcast can get a little spicy. But if that doesn't bother you, my name is Wil. And I play six

Bruce:

divers and I'm the voice of Archie.

Fraser:

I'm Fraser and I play Mark bark smooth.

Tanner:

And I'm your game master tenor. And this is what happened on the last episode of Nother realm. The Neverthere There I am dorm loud The Revenant what prison? Do you hold me in?

Bruce:

I open it and I just think of Marburg and I reach and grab the first thing and pull as hard as I can.

Tanner:

Dorm loud tries to reach out for you and pull you back but you are flung from the bag too quickly and pulled out.

Fraser:

You know, don't go in there. 10 out of 10 would not recommend.

Will:

I'm sorry, I forgot that you don't know who Zeek is.

Fraser:

I remember everyone that I had forgotten when they got eaten by the entity.

Tanner:

If you are looking for access, I might actually have something for that. A man by the name of tallest Java,

Will:

Archie. Where's that rain?

Bruce:

Next time we leave town i'll give it to you but let's keep it where it is for now just in case. Oh shopkeeper decides to ask questions. You've stolen from

Tanner:

the wrong people. I want to know if you've heard of the Court of Justice.

Bruce:

Yeah, the boogey man behind all the things that caught people can explain.

Fraser:

Six you tell him

Will:

young Dinsdale.

Tanner:

Oh yeah, sorry. Yeah, yeah. What's up, man? Your brother died? Ha

Will:

yeah. Young Young Daniel will never have a younger younger. Why? Why D? We got we gave him a nickname before he died. Tragically. But I mean, that was like his. That was his only dream was having a cut of his own. I mean, like

Bruce:

well, sometimes dreams are just viciously ripped out from underneath you. So you should probably come to terms with the fact that your brother's dead.

Will:

Yeah, he's dead. He Wait. He kind of smelled like I'm making all the luck. No, do not do it. i This is

Tanner:

this is so much information right now. It makes you feel better. Yeah.

Will:

I got a guy in half it did it. That does? Yes. I probably would make me feel better if I wasn't like in shock. Wait, maybe? Look, I'm I'm not the best at this sometimes. Is is it? Do you want details? Or should I just say he passed away? Quietly. Do I want details of my brother's death? And then oh, my brother. Daniels dead. Young Daniel.

Tanner:

The daddy was my dad's Daniel is dead oh, what do I do with my hands?

Bruce:

I lightly smack him across the cheek. Alright. Look, Rob. You got to man up. You're the man of the house now because your brother's dead.

Tanner:

But that is still alive.

Bruce:

He's old all right. He's older can't do what he used to. So now you need to man up and take care of your household focus on now.

Will:

Here's a suggestion. Yeah. What if you have a kid and name him young Daniel the younger Well, that might be good

Tanner:

because right now my my dad is just Daniel. You can't be Daniel the elder without a younger so I don't know. Maybe

Will:

Archie, Mark Mark. I'm not sure what else to say.

Bruce:

We don't want to go to your six. Let's go. I think

Fraser:

too much.

Will:

I hope you have a nice life. Young David Dinsdale Dinsdale, Denzil

Bruce:

boy He didn't he's not young Daniel and I walk off

Tanner:

oh my god

Fraser:

heartless

Will:

Oh, well, nobody could be young Daniel. He was great. Now he's dead and I walk we just left

Tanner:

Mark. Mark Mark You gotta save this. Are you gonna save this cavalcade of ruthlessness? I

Bruce:

tried I tried but he wasn't listening so

Fraser:

so a wizard blew some shiny sticky napalm on your brother and then a more powerful was a little on fire. Good luck kid magic and wizards and sorcerers bright

Will:

shiny sticky navel I think we did good. Well handled gentleman. We should. Maybe we can make this into our career after we do. Kill the smoke. I don't know what our quest is. Honestly. Yeah,

Fraser:

people can just hire us to go around and give bad news. They don't want to tell people

Will:

we seem to handle it pretty well. I think he's having a They call this the grief grief session.

Tanner:

I've skipped the first three stages and now I'm mad What is its grief? Anger or bargaining? I don't remember.

Bruce:

I thought it was initially it was a denial, denial.

Will:

Denial, bargaining anger grief acceptance. Something like that. Something like that seven stages so we're missing a couple Alright, so you guys

Tanner:

you guys fuck off I guess and leave leave the young once potential wizard now initiate in the quarter jesters cry wanna bested right

Bruce:

didn't Yes. And and and the initiative who is now able to use the quarter jesters to murder magic users?

Tanner:

Yeah, well, so a win win.

Bruce:

Was it we basically just created the Witcher world where they don't like people who can use magic.

Tanner:

Yeah, this is the seed. This is the seed that does that. You're welcome. Author of The Witcher Henry Cavill. Henry capital is good for all right. So you guys go back to the edge. You get a good night's sleep and get ready for the next day. So currently, the quest is meet up with the Queen's advisor in drawers didn't mill before you guys left outward enterprises, Bates said he'd put together your traveling supplies so that we don't have to worry about all that and pack up your horses. Everyone has their own horse now. Stable grandpa was a frickin gentleman. So you guys are all packed up and ready to head out of Leylen? Is there anything in particular you'd like to take care of before you start your trek?

Bruce:

out of character? Question? Yeah. Was I supposed to receive something to contact the quarter jesters? Ah, no. It's

Will:

kind of they'll contact you sort of thing. Okay. No, don't call us. We'll call you.

Bruce:

Yeah, one of them call you to murder don't call us to ask to murder. Yeah.

Will:

Yeah. And you got, you know, a very discreet bunch of people. All three of us are super discreet. And we're just scraping by Yes.

Tanner:

Never Never let a single bit of information slip them metallic.

Will:

Yes, yes. Yes. Yes. Why metallic? are you pointing out somebody specific?

Tanner:

No, no, no, I'm just saying that everyone has a certain amount of metals in their body. That's just how you know,

Will:

true. Yeah, true. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. Yeah, iron. You am Iron Man. I got it.

Bruce:

Okay, me an Iron Man. Me

Tanner:

am Iron Man. Alright, so anything else you guys you're leaving Leylen This is a far trek, you'll be a couple of days. The better part of a week actually tracking over two drawers in Mill since is directly north of the capital of Velia. You'll be crossing a river if you're going straight as the crow flies West. You'll be crossing over plains potentially through the dark spur thicket to get to draws to mill otherwise you can cut down stay on the roads go through Grineer paths above Hill home, hit the Capitol and then go north into drawers did mill but I think last time we discussed you guys didn't want to do that. Especially since the Capitol might be more aware of at least one of you.

Bruce:

I don't know what you're talking about. Who's this voice in the sky accusing things overseas? Ah, fucking.

Will:

I don't know. He sounds dumb.

Fraser:

I can't trust him.

Bruce:

I immediately get further away from these two.

Tanner:

Good call. It's a really good call. Oh that the voice in the sky will remember For that,

Will:

oh no. Tell Tale, please. Um, okay, so back to that out of game just as a point of discussion. I think we decided to stay away from the towns because of seeing your Archie and his reputation.

Bruce:

I don't know. We're talking player characters referencing.

Will:

So yeah, I think we're gonna go take the road less traveled. Alright, cool.

Bruce:

So I have again, I have question. Yeah, I asked him to put a asked alias Finch. Alias. Thank you. I can't remember his fucking name. I asked him to put like a handy dandy thing to cover the lower half of my face on my on my. You gave your mask something? Okay, cool. Thank you.

Tanner:

Your mask matches the color of your suit. Fantastic. It's basically like a bandana.

Bruce:

So I'm basically now highwayman. So what you're telling me pretty much I turned 26 And I go freeze. That's not his accent at all. It's very

Will:

six completely freezes. I got to work. Alright, let's

Fraser:

go. Another question real quick. Didn't didn't we develop some sort of alternate identities?

Will:

Yes. You are all given.

Tanner:

Alternate identities you're given, like, basically missed fantasy passports. does.

Fraser:

Does anybody remember what mine was? I know. It was very silly. It was fucking

Tanner:

stupid. Steve. Ralph Ralph. Ralph Ralph.

Bruce:

Okay, I thought when I wanted Ralph Ralph, but he said, Ralph, see, it doesn't matter.

Tanner:

I'll Stevens or something. Yeah, I don't know, Steven, probably. I'll listen back. And if you get it wrong, then I'll punish you in the future. Sweet. All right. Okay, you guys have your new identities, you have some masks, you have all this stuff that you'll need, which means you're re upped on your hand axes, and any crossbow bolts that you might need. You're fully rested, and you're ready to head out level five bastards to the west. across the plains. You leave early in the morning when the sun is just rising, the weather is perfect. A little mist there it clears as the sun continues to trace across the sky. The trip is going to take you a few days. So your trek begins on your horses. I'll ask you a couple of questions about how you're traveling but beyond that, you know any conversations you guys want to have with each other this is a good time for it until we get to a point where we're resting so what what's your traveling speed and traveling order? Who is upfront along your trail and searching for the correct direction who's basically doing the navigation not me anyone with good survival skill?

Fraser:

I actually have navigators tools on me.

Tanner:

Oh, and those are for the sea but yeah, they

Fraser:

are technically for the sea I suppose.

Tanner:

But I think I think you could if you know how to navigate via the stars or signs in on the sea you could probably understand a little bit about traveling overland if you don't know

Fraser:

how to get where you need to go.

Tanner:

Yeah. Probably is isn't really completely unrelated.

Bruce:

No, it's not it's the same fucking constellations. Yes, guy.

Tanner:

I figured as much and no, it's not. Yeah,

Bruce:

I mean, unless there's trees and then you can't see this guy and

Will:

then right that's the problem. You typically on land you just follow the big burning ball in the sky. Oh, I

Bruce:

was gonna follow the you know roads. But yeah.

Tanner:

Oh, you guys aren't taking the roads. If you go straight West, no road, you're cutting across the plains.

Fraser:

All right, let's head away from the sun.

Tanner:

So yeah, you guys, you guys know which way the sunrises in the West. So you guys, I think you have pretty good heading and understanding where you're gonna go. Um, Mark, Mark, you'll be up front since you have the most experience navigating. I'm just going to dictate so we can get on with this travel throughout the day. You guys have a very pleasant day of traveling. A bit of a breeze. But the sun stays to your backup until noon and doesn't get very warm throughout the day. It's a it's very pleasant traveling so far. You're keeping the horses at a nice trot or canter. whichever one's faster. And you're just you're just heading over the plains. And then later in the day, you know the sun begins to crest over the sky and set in the West as you continue on your travels. After a long day of travel. You guys have the option of setting up your camp or continue through the night if you really wanted to. It's up to you. So what are you doing for your travel plans for this evening?

Fraser:

Are the horses need a break?

Will:

Yeah, I feel like doors is needed right? We need a break. I'll set up my century post we'll set up a campfire died My ass hurts.

Fraser:

Let's stop here.

Will:

David Hasselhoff pounding your ass

Tanner:

Wow. Wow

Fraser:

let's keep going

Tanner:

but it takes one point of exhaustion from that oh

Bruce:

shit fucking a we'll

Will:

have time to go to sleep for you guys, I don't sleep.

Tanner:

Alright so you know as far as campsites go, you want to find someplace potentially for the horses to drink water had nice, you know patch of grass for them to graze upon. So whoever wants to and I'm guessing it's probably going to be Fraser if you're the one searching around. I need someone to roll survival for me to see if you can you find a good place to camp out. Oh,

Fraser:

does anybody have better survival than zero?

Will:

I haven't played three. Three years. So

Fraser:

let me let you do that.

Will:

Don't worry guys. I'll find a good place to sleep. 11

Bruce:

Okay, great. That's not a great place at all. Go over here. I'm going to 16

Tanner:

Oh, nice. Okay.

Fraser:

Everybody else is rolling. All right, go for it. I got an 18 Actually no, this

Bruce:

guy seems to know what he's talking about. Yeah,

Will:

I think he's right.

Tanner:

So six with absolutely no knowledge of of actually traversing the lands or no memory of how to do it properly or what organic beings need just picks out a plot of grass that's out in the open no covering no protections knows nothing, source of water, anything like that. Archie you from this vantage point where six points out you find a place that's farther off like you hear in the distance the trickling of water and see a place where a breeze is cutting over a portion of a stream. But this area is pretty exposed. If anyone was going to find you through the night. Mark bark you didn't see often the further descent that there's an outcropping of stones out and along this little stream where you can kind of post everything up create a bit of a lien to and everyone can sort of hide behind that post your horses up and stuff a bit of water. So you guys set yourselves up for the night. Build a campfire. Is there any discussions that you would like to have while you're here? Considering this will be the first of four days of travel?

Will:

Mark Mark? Why were you in prison? Just curious more than any

Bruce:

prisoner Trust me I know prisoners.

Will:

How are you in the county jail? Of Arcus

Fraser:

well see I stumbled into town and came across the mayor and he seemed to have some things that I wanted so I murdered him oh

Will:

I Yep. Are you are you fucking with me? Maybe Okay, Archie seems like you got some stuff in common with Mark bar

Bruce:

Hi, I'm not a murderer everybody I have killed deserve to be killed.

Will:

Did he deserve to be killed Mark bark?

Fraser:

I mean he had kind of a shitty face oh my god

Tanner:

a team of the most dislikable?

Bruce:

Excuse me voice in the sky on plenty likable.

Fraser:

Let me ask you a question metal man. How did you become a metal man?

Will:

I have no clue. I just stares at you.

Fraser:

What a story.

Will:

I wish I had more information. I'm actually one of the things I'm going to be looking for. I'm looking for brother Ganzel. Oh and Cantelli I think they have information mostly can tell you because a guy I don't know if he's dead or not. Anyways, Argo Malka who used to be my partner. Am I saying this right, Archie? Partner? Yeah, I suppose.

Bruce:

Absolutely. Definitely your partner.

Will:

I think I think the pictures showed him being my partner. My name used to be Jason and I was very cool. I was super cool. As Jason, which is my name now. Hold up my little

Bruce:

badge thing that we do on calls Jason. Jason was a fucking douche.

Will:

I don't know he's seen. Oh, yeah. That was that one time. And I don't think he knows where babies come from. I don't know where babies. Where do babies come from?

Fraser:

Six. I'm going to teach you a new skill. It's called embellishment. You can just make stuff up when people ask you things to make the story more interesting. It's about the story. So next time someone asks you make up something exciting.

Will:

Oh, I'd like to give that a try. Ask me again.

Fraser:

600 you become a metal man.

Will:

I have no clue spaceship spaceship spaceship Jason.

Fraser:

Go on.

Will:

big elephant.

Fraser:

Okay, already better.

Will:

It put a magical hat on my head. Now made of metal. I did it.

Fraser:

You still have some work to do, but that's sure as a start.

Will:

Look, I'm not very good at lying.

Fraser:

It's not lying. It's fudging the truth for the sake of a good story.

Will:

Sounds like a lie how you will? Out? Hey, would you like to play a game of chess? And open my chess board? I haven't opened it a long time. We haven't had a chance to rest.

Fraser:

Sure. What are the rules? What was in don't you?

Will:

This one moves like this guy. And this one moves like this

Bruce:

guy really killed my

Will:

the goal of this is to capture my king or your king. And then you win. Yeah.

Fraser:

Too much to remember. And I flipped the

Will:

they're all magnetized. It just closes my chessboard. i Oh, you're saying it was just it's always in you. You get pulled out. You just flip it out? Oh, yes. Yes. Thanks so much.

Tanner:

They put play chess in your guts. All right, guys. Chest, your chest and your chest. Chest. Chest. Chest.

Bruce:

Chest. Chest, chest, Chest.

Tanner:

Chest, your chest.

Will:

I call this my chest Chest.

Tanner:

Chest, Chest. Chest. Nice. Chestnuts. Open fire. You all go to sleep. You get? Yeah, well, you go to rest mode.

Will:

Excellent. Mark Mark. Don't sleep.

Fraser:

Don't sleep that go into a four hour trance.

Tanner:

The four of you shut the fuck up.

Bruce:

There's only three of us.

Tanner:

Oh, I said four of you. I'm sorry. The six of you. Shut the fuck up six of us. The three of you and your horses.

Will:

And what do we do with Aaron as your by the way? You left him asleep? In

Fraser:

Yeah, asleep in the in the Yeah, he's gotta

Bruce:

say fine.

Will:

I would say he's gonna wake up confused but he already is. at all time. He wakes

Fraser:

up confused every day.

Tanner:

If you wake up confused every day, but you accept it. Are you actually confused? Mm

Will:

hmm. Phil okay. What are we what happened?

Bruce:

Yes, but you've just gotten past

Will:

denial. A Grief Hill?

Tanner:

No of no drugs. Grief from no drugs. Okay. Yeah. Who's the who's the plug in town? Shit. Yeah, the night goes off. With that. I wanted to say without a hitch, you guys you guys rest through the night the sunrises and nothing seems to happen through the night. Which is good because no one posted up the garden. So

Will:

what are the challenges since Frasier hasn't traveled with us yet? What's happening is Tanner has a random encounter table that he is rolling a dice for landing on good stuff if every time you see a roll of dice. This is because Frasier is a newer player he has

Bruce:

we could have died. Yeah, we need to know. Yeah. So

Fraser:

it was like he would tour the weather. I got an idea that he rolled for the weather. And then he rolled for whether or not we encountered somebody and then he rolled for whether or not our night went well. And he has not gotten lucky.

Tanner:

Oh, I have guys. Yeah. Let's see. I want to kill you guys. So alright, um, you guys wake up the next morning. The sun rises. It is a little overcast today, but not enough to where it hinders your travel. So you continue heading off towards the west. Is there any sort of I mean, you had a campfire conversation. I imagine as you guys travel, you just keeping a lookout for anyone that's going to approach you.

Will:

Yeah, and at this point, I'd be like, Archie, there's something I need to tell you.

Bruce:

I am listening.

Will:

I made a pact with death to get into the bubble. To save Mark bark and confront Zeke.

Fraser:

Why did you do that?

Will:

Ah, I needed to get into the bubble. I didn't know of a better way. I tried to tell him I didn't have a pin. He didn't believe me. Or he gave me a pin. So no, I

Fraser:

meant why did you need to save me? You don't even know me?

Will:

Oh, I like you. As you help, Archie. My best friend and me You're part of the big wolf buddies. Brigade brigade. You're part of a wolf brigade. You have a horse. His name is David.

Fraser:

He's a good fellow.

Will:

His name is David. Yes.

Tanner:

Young David Dell.

Bruce:

And now he's dead.

Will:

That was Daniel. Okay, whatever. But I just thought you should know. Because the warning was if he calls me I have to do what he says. I don't know what that's going to be.

Bruce:

probably die.

Will:

Perhaps. I kind of already died, I think. Or how would my soul be in this? Don't Don't apart myself on the chest body.

Fraser:

Weight. Do you have a human soul in your metal body?

Will:

Yes.

Fraser:

Like you were once a real human.

Bruce:

Yeah.

Will:

Versus Oh yes, I was. Jason. And I hold up my card again.

Fraser:

Fascinating.

Will:

How does die happen? I don't know. And that's what I'm trying to figure out. Argo does, but he couldn't tell me because we got swallowed by giant smoke that you've seen now you've seen,

Fraser:

like what we saw in Arcus? Yes. That's what I Where is where is he now?

Bruce:

Well, you know, this summarizes all right, so we get to all of my black smoke. He didn't. He didn't do what he did. He did.

Will:

Well, he he started fighting. He started fighting death so that Archie and myself could escape. He said I was too important to be stuck here. And told me to find Cantelli that's, I guess that's what I'm trying to do.

Bruce:

Because Ganzel was an a, quote, fucking thief.

Will:

Oh, yeah. That's exactly the words out of his mouth, actually.

Fraser:

Do you know where to find Cantelli? No. Wow.

Will:

I'm just hoping to run into him. I suppose I'm asking everyone. Well, I was until August. That was crazy.

Tanner:

Six as you think back and like, think about the memories that you're having and trying to think of your past. And even just the recent past, that familiar feeling washes over you. And kind of that, that slight headache that persists. The last time you had a vision as one begins to come over you once again. This time, as your vision comes back, you look down at your hands, and again see that they are flesh. And you look at nearby tools and see your reflection. You are in the body of Jason, your former self. But you realize that you are in a you're in a lab environment. And as you're looking between your test files, you're not really able to make out what any of them say it's not your focus in this moment. The thing that you do end up focusing on is experimentation notes for experiment, four to seven, three. And experiment four to seven three says that there are two options that you can use to achieve results. The first is to test it on the same way that you've been going about a lot of your tests, testing them on cadavers, dead specimens, but you predict that greater results will be found. If you test it on a live specimen. And these live specimens, you have a couple of different options. One is the blue one. One is 100% of Willow. So Google O is on there. That is Option A. Option B is really is just yet. Just one. Option B is a canary. Option C is a fantasy chimpanzee. If you guys want to make up a name for that, you can go for it. I'll leave that world building up to you. Fraser Fraser, do you want to come up with a name for fantasy chimpanzee?

Fraser:

A fantasy chimpanzee? A shed

Tanner:

a Chad Chad. The third option is a Chad. And the fourth option is you've noted down an address of a young street girl that you know no One will miss. So you have two main options and then four sub options on Category B. So again Wow,

Bruce:

you both are terrible human beings.

Tanner:

These are your options and you have to pick one. So first off, I need you to roll any dice on odds you pick option one on evens you pick option two

Will:

that is a two

Tanner:

okay, now I will let you pick on this portion.

Will:

So those guys are looking old character here how unlikable do we want to make Jason

Tanner:

building on this experiment? You know that as you read down this list, the results are greater you will get better results the closer you get to a humanoid as you're trying to think through this you can't recall you six cannot recall what this experiment absolutely was. You just know that the greatest result would be with a humanoid but you have the option here. This I will give you some insight will have an effect on things beyond this vision.

Will:

Well my my internal monologue is telling me that I should probably just choose this here. Bird Oh, but if I if I don't get the results I'm not going to meet my quota. And then I'll have to talk to oh, I don't want to talk to her. Oh boy. We shall Argo always helps me through this. Oh. What was that girl's name again. It's better that she doesn't have a name. I know what I have to do.

Fraser:

God What a douche.

Tanner:

You choose option D

Will:

right? Absolutely choose option D Deez Nuts

Bruce:

D for douche.

Tanner:

Okay, you choose this option. You know what you have to do? The vision begins to fade and with this last tickle of realization this one last connection before it's gone completely. You hear the screams of a young girl and then I need to give you I need you to give me a dexterity saving throw

Will:

a dexterity save Yep. Oh be that's an eight.

Tanner:

You begin to fall off your horse and end up hitting face first to the ground which completely brings you out of your days as you're back in the body of six and around your friends.

Will:

I thought Bravo I heard Oh yeah. Oh maybe we should keep writing which deck Yes, I'm good now. Thank you for your concern. I

Fraser:

way way way way way way we're not just gonna gloss of what just happened. What did you see?

Will:

Oh heatstroke I believe overheating you're

Fraser:

learning that embellishment thing I see.

Will:

Oh, no. Get back on the rise.

Fraser:

You're a terrible liar.

Will:

Yeah, okay. Yeah.

Tanner:

All right, the three of you continue on for the rest of the day it ends up in the weather changes a little bit more. It's sprinkling light rain before you start to find it look for a place to make camp for the night. Six is abnormally quiet. Still waters above all else, a screen that echoes across the expanse and cold beating darkness. It's not the power emanating from the heart that causes our Go Malka to reach into the golden cage. It's the intrigue of it. It's the ventricles that connect to nothing. It's the atria, the atrioventricular valves, the pulmonary veins that all seem to operate as if this organ supplies some life giving ink to something. It's the absolute audacity of this place of death to hold this unexplainable monument of life. The shadow creatures that climb outside the great tower quickly approached the top. Soon they begin beating against the Crystaline windows all around Argo. But the sound of splintering glass does not pull him from his trance. He moves his hand closer until he feels the biting cold on his fingertips. As the windows shatter and the shadows pour in our goes hand closes around the heart. memories begin to rush through his mind with every quickening pulse. See, thump. A childhood desk covered in drawings of dragons and sorcerers thump. A young lover basking in the lazy warmth of the summer sun. Thump. A speech given at a graduation ceremony, diploma in hand, thump, a drink with a moustache friend after a day of difficult decisions. Thump. A once in a lifetime discovery in a palace of white stone, thump, a pool of crimson beneath the throne of Attoria. Thumb, a spark of magic to seal the dissipating remnants of a soul. The shadows viciously whirl around our go with each heartbeat. They crash against the gray stone walls. Finally, they impact with such violent force that the stone and glass explode outwards, exposing Argo and the heart to the gray sky of the drift in an instant death materializes, they stepped towards Argo as stone and glass cascade into the water far below. And it over our go now caught and I will let you leave the drift. What is it? It is nothing of consequence to you. But it is of great importance to me. It is my heart. Why is it here? Locked away? There are some answers you need not know. Please give it to me. Argo looks down at the black heart and tightens His grip. And if I don't, death brings a hand to their chest. Their fingers gripping into the shadowy cloak. Then you risk your unbecoming the renewing of your soul into pieces so small that they could never pass into all else. I don't think you should be threatening me right now. Argos squeezes the heart harder. He feels the veins struggle to work against his grip. It is not a feat I would enact upon you. Fear the power of this place. Not me. Death takes another uneasy step forward and extends an open hand. Please. Here you wanted me to come here and retrieve this, didn't you? You were barred from this place. That's why you didn't follow me. That's why I am lonely human can deter you with mortal magic and escape. Why? Why do you need it? Argo begins stepping back towards the nearby edge overlooking the water below. Death lurches at Argo but Argo is ready. He digs his fingers into the heart causing black blood to trickle down his hand. In the same moment he turns and dives off the edge as he falls towards the water his mind focuses on one thought power over death

Tanner:

Alright, once again, night two, I'm going to need you guys to roll them survivals again. Now in terms of doing individual roles, you guys can basically use help and give each other advantage if you're if you're all just going to let one person do it. So it's up to you. I like I like

Fraser:

everyone, guys when I have another who can find the best camera

Will:

two plus three and I say guys, it's definitely right here and it's, it's literally it's literally on rocks.

Fraser:

All that shit spot. Here's a pretty good one. I got a tin. Okay, just even.

Bruce:

Yeah, I feel it last time it was proven I'm not very good at this. So I'm just gonna let them take care of it. Okay, so

Tanner:

yes, I was points. Six points out a pretty rocky segment that if you try and lay out your bed rolls, it would be very uncomfortable. Mark bark find something moderately better once again at no cover but access to water for the horses a little bit. So you guys are able to set up you don't really have a place to keep you covered throughout this plane. So you know the fire could be relatively easily spotted. I'll get out I'll announce the option this time. Anybody looking out anybody? Oh, and I don't think for sure

Will:

I do not sleep. So yeah, sentry mode.

Bruce:

I douse the fire before we go to sleep. All right.

Tanner:

You make sure that the embers are out. The only light that's being cast around is from six his eyes as he keeps an eye on the flowing grasses around you. Oh boy. Eventually, we hit the table. Eventually, six, you hear something off in the distance? It sounds like it sounds like music. Okay, so how far away are we talking? You can go ahead and roll perception to see you can.

Will:

Nat 20

Tanner:

Wow, very, very nice on a very plus inconsequential roll. All right.

Will:

I just love that too. I don't ever you know, kid you

Tanner:

you think that it's probably about 400 yards away from you. And at this point if you kind of look off in that direction. You can see the flickering of fire light.

Will:

I use my binocular eyes.

Tanner:

No

Bruce:

he's done with your shit. Just

Fraser:

know.

Will:

He doesn't even tone it anymore. No No buts. Just know.

Fraser:

Mark barks eyes open quickly as he awakens from his trance hearing the sound of the distance and says six. Did you hear that?

Tanner:

Oh yeah, cuz you just go into trance do Yeah, he

Will:

does. Yes, I did hear it. It is. It is exactly 400 yards away. 432 exactly if I'm being exact.

Fraser:

That is oddly specific and a great skill. Should we wake Archie?

Will:

Ooh, how sneaky Are you?

Fraser:

I've been known to be a sneaky fellow. When I need to be.

Will:

I'm also very sneaky.

Fraser:

I doubt that.

Will:

You know, that's probably

Fraser:

all right. How about this, your eyes would probably give away your position in the darkness. I have dark vision. I'll go scout and see what's

Will:

okay. You know the password right? The secret word? Alcohol. Correct. Just yell it I can hear you. Gotcha. Gotcha.

Tanner:

So, you're gonna go out to scout the disturbance off in the distance.

Will:

I'll, I'll wake or G at this point. And to say, Archie, Mark bark is going to scout that music. Do you hear the music?

Fraser:

Mee Mee Mee Mee Mee Mee Mee Mee

Will:

man, you're such a heavy sleeper. I'm envious. I wonder what it's like to sleep. I forgotten.

Tanner:

Creepy. All right, Mark bark. I need a stealth roll from you as you attempt to sneak up on this and disturbance this music and I'm good

Will:

Nat 20 nat 20 nat 20 nat 20 Oh, that's

Fraser:

an eight plus three.

Tanner:

Okay 11 So you you begin to walk towards this disturbance you're able to follow it both by sound and by seeing the fire lights in the distance. At this point the night is clear the rain that was happening earlier in the evening has dissipated. And you can see the clear stars in the sky your approach and crouched down to try and get to the level of the grass and you'll eventually see five figures you can't quite make out what they are but they It seems strange dancing around a large fire. They are singing and playing instruments. flutes and small drums and dancing around seems like they're trying to they're currently in the process of making up some some song. It is in the common tongue so you are able to understand you know their silly rhymes and things that they're trying to make. But as you're approaching I need you to go ahead and roll a wisdom saving throw for me. Oh shit

Fraser:

it's a 14

Tanner:

Okay, at the camp six. Your light attempts to rouse Archie gross. What? Rounds rounds rounds

Bruce:

I stopped you my dick. Wow

Tanner:

that's not non switch. Okay. To reduce you it's it's been probably five minutes. And you have not heard anything back from Mark Mark.

Will:

Archie. Kind of kind of shake Archie. Alright. We may have a small issue. Divine small. Mark bark went to investigate that over there with the singing is the singing so going on?

Tanner:

Yeah, you can hear it very lightly.

Bruce:

Why do neither one of you just leave enough alone? Then we wouldn't be in this fucking position. He says he sits up like the undertaker.

Will:

Well, I didn't want a we thought maybe it was a danger. He's been gone for about five minutes. I'm starting to get worried that something's happened.

Bruce:

All right. I'm gonna get my sayings.

Will:

I'll lead the way. Or maybe I should stay behind you. Are you? Are you sneaky Archie? We don't typically do sneak guess we'll find out.

Tanner:

Okay. I don't know why I'm whispering the two of you leave the horses in your other gear that you wouldn't carry with you behind and begin making your way over to towards the singing. So go ahead and roll stealth six. It's going to be a disadvantage for you because of your armor.

Will:

Oh, I'm in medium armor.

Tanner:

Yes, you are. What type of media mama Are you in? Scale male that gives you disadvantage. Damn. And

Fraser:

you're also made of metal so

Will:

yeah, I feel like I should just have natural disadvantage anyways,

Tanner:

but I could give that I really like it.

Will:

Yeah. Nicky boy,

Tanner:

you said he didn't say scale right? I did a double the only that is this. Yeah,

Will:

the only thing the only thing that I'm going to switch my armor to is heavier armor. So yeah, yeah. All right, first one's a 14 plus zero. Second one is a 15 plus zero 14.

Tanner:

Very nice. Okay. And Archie

Bruce:

23. Wow. Okay,

Tanner:

very nice. All right, the two of you begin to approach and at this point, you can start to see glimpses of figures in shadows as they dance around the fire nearby. What you see is six figures. A few of them have a bit of an odd shape, but they are all humanoid. And they are all dancing and singing and playing instruments around the fire. As your approach, I need you to roll wisdom saving 14

Will:

That's a 3.69.

Tanner:

Okay, the two of you are entranced by the music and you stop you're sneaking as you get closer and closer feeling the rhythm as they're building that song. Build up inside you and you're just you're just into it. You start moving with the beat, and you eventually catch up to everyone at the fire what you see. First off you notice Mark Mark, Mark Mark, how do you dance in a bit of sort of wild trance?

Fraser:

Oh in a very very sloppy like, imagine a sea drunken sailor kind of shimmying his way around the poop deck.

Tanner:

Oh so 100% How Captain Jack Sparrow just walks.

Fraser:

Oh sure, yeah, okay, that's pretty good. Yeah, yeah just like how he Sasha yeah session.

Tanner:

So you see that the the next things you guys notice, are for Seders that are playing instruments, just marching around this fire singing, knocking back these jugs of alcohol and one human female who is dressed in plain robes who is just dancing along with them singing along and passing the drinks around to everyone. Mark barks and she went up here first. I need you to go ahead and give me a constitution saving throw as you knock back some of this alcohol

Fraser:

Ooh, that's a one

Tanner:

wow, okay. What happens for you? I have noted Alright, that'll have some sort of effect you can feel the alcohol wash and you it's very strong. And it starts to take hold you can definitely feel good in this moment. liquid courage going through you.

Fraser:

Have I noticed six and Archie Walker.

Tanner:

What you've noticed finally is them coming in to the rhythm and dancing around. Everyone welcomes them in the saders do and they begin passing around the drinks.

Fraser:

Six Archie, I thought you'd never make it to the party. Welcome.

Will:

Mark bar. This is great. Music.

Fraser:

Archie I've never seen you so loose

Bruce:

Archie's just grumpily shimmying. Very grumble ation. All right.

Fraser:

Yeah, he's dancing, but he hates it.

Tanner:

The drink jug is passed around. The Seders drink it the woman hands it over to you guys. So I need everyone to give me a constitution saving throw with this one.

Bruce:

I took the floor germaphobe so I don't I have a 12

Will:

Oh my god. I rolled a one TKO by party.

Bruce:

Gotta have high constitution. 17

Tanner:

Oh, nice. Okay. All right. Mark bark and six. Mark Mark, you don't seem to feel any more effects of this wash over you. It's still a good groove. You're keeping that buzz with this next bit of drink? Six. Even though you're a Warforged you can feel the alcohol take effect. It is loosening you off you have you feel like you could you could go out and you could kick a bull in it could kick you back and you'd be fine. I don't know why that's what I went with. But you know what I'm going for?

Will:

Yeah, that is great.

Tanner:

It's a little bit more than a buzz. At this point. The the Seder is finally kind of have a song put together and you can hear it being sung. They've got at least the first verse. And the first verse goes Oh, whoa, the world feels vast and wicked to those without the mirth of Seder born of hoof and horn, and blessed with length and girth, and they all just laugh and loud and the drinks get passed around again. It's good so I need you guys to roll another constitution saving girl please.

Fraser:

Jesus. were three or four Wow Who is?

Will:

Or two time to be drunk.

Tanner:

I want to get Archie.

Bruce:

A tan at a 10

Tanner:

oh A 10 a 10 Okay, one zero. Yeah. All right, Archie, this alcohol is not taking a huge effect on you what it has done is it's it's given you the courage you're familiar with the courage all the booze you've been around and running. Be like yeah, this is this is the pocket this is the pocket you want to stay in that will that will make you feel like you can accomplish anything and give you the courage to go through with it. But you know if you push much farther beyond this it's it's super diminishing returns all right. Um, so after this round, the Seder start up again with the next part of their song. They sing. Oh, whoa, the world feels vast and wicked, and yet we danced till dawn to see the stars that burn so far fall crashing to the lawn. And at this point, no chuckles because there's no dick pun. as well it wasn't even upon they're just straight up

Will:

somewhat their girth Yeah,

Tanner:

I'm funny and clever

Will:

tenor almost.

Tanner:

So without without the interruption of the laughing there they go through with the next verse. Oh whoa the world feels vast in Wicked, but now we seek the truth of some small kin that dwells within the home without a roof. And at this point, the drinks go around another time. So everyone, go ahead and give me give me those constitution saving throw,

Will:

come on, not oh two.

Fraser:

We're both gonna get 20 00 17 plus 290. Very nice.

Bruce:

14,

Tanner:

eight plus 311 11. Okay. All right, everyone, but six, you stay in the same sort of state of abbreviation. As you were in before the alcohol doesn't take too much effect on you and you're just enjoying your time. Six, however, you are vastly approaching, being unable to really operate your limbs correctly. You're so drunk, you're flailing around, and you try and sing along with this. But your speech is slurred. And then the saders sing the last verse of the song. And now we bring the anthem sing all ye lowly and wicked, the stars are wrong. So sing along doubt in the dark spur thicket. And they take another swig of their jug and all four of them pass out. The woman looking at you three, and at the Seder is on the ground, just looking very confused, trying to keep the JUGS from falling over and the alcohol from spinning. At this point you you you three basically are no longer entranced by the music and you're aware of how drunk you actually are. Archie, you have disadvantage on persuasion and deception and advantage against being frightened. Mark bark you have disadvantage on saving throws, and you can't dash or move more than 10 feet in the same direction. So your drunk ass has to zigzag. You also have the same effects as Archie but disadvantage on ability checks. And go ahead and roll me one of your hit die. So I believe you have a D eight. I got a four add 14 temporary HP. i Sorry, add four temporary HP. To what to your total HP. So whatever your HP is at 40 Okay.

Fraser:

Okay, it's for HP for being drunk or HP for being drunk. Six words like that in real life.

Tanner:

Yeah, it'd be nice huh? Six year along with all the status effects that Mark bark has, you have disadvantage on attack rolls and you have damage resistance. So you ever resistance to physical damage? Dope? Yep.

Will:

I'll roll my d8

Tanner:

five. Alright, cool. Add five to your HP. So the three of you are pretty, at least from tipsy to wasted your time standing amongst for pest outsider who are lying on the ground and one rather confused looking woman who is trying to pick up the alcohol jugs. What are you doing?

Will:

Are two or two? Oh, my bar. I think I think I will give these guys a coin. So what he does is he takes out a coin from his from the bag the given to him by St. Sebastian, and walks over to the saders and puts it on a Seder. Okay, while it's sleeping,

Tanner:

you put it in a Seders palm and he closes up his hand and the coin does not seem to tarnish. There's a little a little chime on the wind. As he grasps it.

Will:

I really leaned down and tried to whisper in his ear. Take good care of the coin.

Tanner:

Okay. Eat and respond. Seders for anyone who doesn't know kind of shorter humanoids with horns and herbs.

Will:

Gumball scene line which in the water yeah,

Tanner:

Mister Mister.

Will:

I forgot his name Mr. MC

Tanner:

buckles. I can't remember

Will:

his name. Yeah, okay. Mr. MC buckles.

Tanner:

Alright. Anyone? I'm just gonna

Will:

go sleep. Took a dream. sleep a little bit at six is gonna start laying down right there. Okay,

Bruce:

I'm just gonna walk over and take six up. Okay. Oh, aren't you I brought back to Israel first party party or they wouldn't go back to campsite now it's here You

Will:

never asked but I was doing the robot the whole task.

Fraser:

Oh good

Will:

thank you Archer but I love you

Bruce:

I know Bob let's go

Fraser:

way way way what about what about this girl who's she

Will:

is a good closer

Bruce:

sang to women dancing in planes. Mr. Stribling alcohol is not a proper form of friendship.

Fraser:

She She has she kind of cute though

Tanner:

when you say that she she catches your eye mark bark. You guys share a glimpse for a moment and she sets the jug down and nods her head to a nearby bush.

Fraser:

I look back at six over my shoulder. And I think I'm winking at him but I actually just blinked

Will:

arch versus inner d&d players screaming fucking I can see

Fraser:

the good catch up with this girl over here you guys. See you can't

Bruce:

call caller on your shirt or bag like a video of a collar or a backpack?

Fraser:

Didn't really leave well. Yeah, I have a collar for sure. I didn't really leave with any of my gear.

Bruce:

I'm just gonna kind of grab him

Fraser:

out as Archie's pulling his collar.

Will:

Oh, ours. Because well, kind of

Bruce:

hey, yeah, you don't have to let me grab your collar. I mean, you can do whatever you want to do. So don't expect.

Fraser:

I'm too I'm too fucked up to resist it.

Tanner:

Okay, okay. All right.

Bruce:

hate being the designated hiker.

Tanner:

Okay, so you guys, head back begin to head back. Though the woman does call out to you. Mark bark in says it'll be a good time. I promise. And I need you to give me a wisdom saving throw.

Will:

Oh shit oh, no,

Fraser:

it's a three. Zero,

Tanner:

you. You really, really, really want to go with her.

Fraser:

I look over at Archie wait until he's kind of fiddling with six trying to keep him up right? And he loosens its grip on my collar. And I get a phone call from me and I SWAT him and run like one of those like, like, like I'm thinking about. I run

Will:

in a zigzag pattern. And

Fraser:

I stumbled through the forest in a zigzag pattern as quickly as my drunken legs can take me all right,

Bruce:

Archie Huff's RT Huff's. He goes, because he's drunk. His inhibitions are lowered. Alright, I've had a fucking knock on this and he takes her fucking hand axe and he just wings it

Fraser:

at the woman Holy shit. Okay

Bruce:

okay, 14,

Tanner:

okay, you throw this and because of your shouting, it startles her. She sees the axe fly towards her and ducks underneath it and just runs off into the distance into the night.

Will:

problems often does that. alleviate a mark barks thing?

Fraser:

God dammit, Archie that was that. That could have been my girlfriend.

Bruce:

Okay, mate and women and veils is no way to get a girl. You How did I lose weight? Why do I only have the vibe? I just had my other one in my hand

Fraser:

but you have to miss she was kind of cute.

Will:

Modbar girlfriend

Fraser:

you have a girlfriend?

Will:

Yeah, is

Fraser:

her name? Yeah, Archie. Clever joke.

Will:

I really like pansy. She got metal legs like me.

Tanner:

The three of you settled down for rest and get yourself set up in your drunken state. I'm going to say while you can go into your normal, you know sort of trance state, both Morbark and six, it is going to be greatly hindered currently. So the three of you rest up You prepare for the rest of the night.

Bruce:

Oh, Archie is not going back to sleep. He's Oh, he's

Tanner:

up. Okay. All right. Yeah.

Bruce:

Is that okay? He's already he's up. He's angry and he's up. He's angry and he's half lit, but he's not lit enough to pass out. So like, we're just, we're just he's just fuming, right fucking get so angry.

Tanner:

This will impose for the next day a point of exhaustion on you.

Bruce:

Yeah, that's fine. I've dealt with that before. Okay. All right.

Fraser:

A technical question real quick. What is the point of exhaustion do

Tanner:

so is that all about point of exhaustion

Bruce:

is make you bad at everything.

Fraser:

Oh, okay.

Tanner:

So exhaustion in FFIV. Disadvantage on all ability checks, for the first level of exhaustion is not good. Alright, so yeah, you guys are going into the night. 60 you rest?

Will:

Yeah, I don't think Sentinel should work. If I'm being honest. Like, you already completed powers down.

Tanner:

You are one point away from being passed out from that little drinking bit. All right. Yeah. So you you go into sleep mode. Mark bark. The poll is great. You are it's been about 45 minutes since you've you've been pulled away from from the party. From the Seders. What do you do?

Fraser:

So aren't you still awake at this point with me? Right? Yep.

Tanner:

Okay, you can tell you're starting to sober up some. You know that so is Archie. But you are still not fully sober. Oh, Archie, all

Fraser:

of this. All of this drink really has got the the old bladder quite tense. I'm gonna go relieve myself.

Will:

Alright. You go do that. Okay.

Fraser:

And I get up and I walk I follow him. All right. Some privacy. Please. Have you know manners?

Will:

You can turn around. Okay.

Fraser:

I turned around and kind of like you know, do a little little shimmy. Like I'm kind of working with it or something. Not too much. Not playing with myself. But you know,

Bruce:

now look mod bog. I'm perfectly sure you'll take a will take care of yourself. But I had a brother. His name was Bob and we got to lit in the fucking bushes one time. And he passed out and fell in the flock and river and he died. I'm not leaving you alone. Okay.

Fraser:

I can't I can't go if you're talking. Could you actually NP shy? Could you just just turn and face the other direction for me, please?

Tanner:

Yeah, do that. Okay, thank you. Thank you.

Fraser:

I look back over my shoulder just to make sure he is actually turned around. And a hall s okay.

Bruce:

I hear him I would imagine

Tanner:

in his in his drunken state. It's not. It's not completely subtle.

Bruce:

I'm just gonna do

Will:

my Rizal take a shape. I follow him.

Bruce:

Okay. Which is easy, because my walking speed is faster than

Fraser:

him. Yeah, and I'm very much still running in crescent moon shape. Tracks.

Tanner:

Um, you guys make it back over towards the Seder party zone. And when you do what's what's each of your HPs please, is 4842. Okay, what happens since we'll go with the lowest first is Mark bark immediately falls down. After you hear this. Whispering on the wind. So you fall down and you are asleep? Unconscious. You feel it kind of affect you Archie, but you do not fall asleep from it. You remain standing as Mark Mark collapses to the ground.

Bruce:

Hey, pick Mark BARDA. Okay. And I go back to Cam. Okay. by dashing, okay. Which means that I'm moving at 80 feet per second. Okay, so make sure we're clear that I'm getting the fuck out. You're

Tanner:

gonna get the hell out of dodge. I got it. Yeah. Did I hear that? Did

Bruce:

I hear the whispering? Oh, yes. Okay, yeah, I'm moving. I'm moving Latin camp.

Tanner:

You make it back to Kansas at my lord down. The moon is high in the sky. And it is dark. Otherwise, there are shadows moving across the land just because of the way the grasses are moving in the trees nearby.

Bruce:

You said I'm sober, right? Yes, you were so I close my eyes. And I stopped using my vision to sense

Tanner:

okay. All right. How do you what do you do with Mark bark when you get back to the camp?

Bruce:

I set him next to six. All right,

Tanner:

it is just you posted up. Next you're dead Ember fire. Syncing off into the distance. The way in which you hurt.

Bruce:

My axe is John. Awesome.

Tanner:

All right, cool. Go ahead. What is your passive perception please? 18 Okay, all right. You don't sense anything approaching but you do get a shiver up your spine Mark bark, you begin to have terrible visions nightmares. And though you're asleep under magical effects you are receiving no benefits of the rest from this. I need you to roll one D 10. For me that's a 10 Okay. You Your hit point maximum is reduced by 10. And your temporary hit points are gone. So whatever your hit point maximum is subtract 10 That was what 40 something.

Fraser:

So that's like a permanent change or that's just for now.

Will:

Okay, that is a for now change.

Tanner:

Archie as you're standing here for the next hour. You don't notice anything other than Mark bark behind you. Shifting. Sweating. You can obviously tell he's having nightmares behind you. And another hour passes. And another under your watch. And eventually, from the east. The Sun begins peeking up over the sky. And everyone else wakes up in the warmth of a beautiful sunrise.

Bruce:

And I'm just standing there like a fucking Sentinel. Ah you guys wake away you guys wake up to me just standing there was my XL. My eyes closed like a fucking psychopath.

Will:

I don't know how this is possible. But I feel like shit.

Bruce:

Because you got trash last night.

Fraser:

Do you drink a lot of alcohol? Where did you even

Will:

put it? Oh, yeah. Right here and open my belly and pull it bog bla bla bla I pull up pull my release valve at the bottom and piss. I had a penis. Okay. Wow. Not for that though. I don't know. I have. I have organic parts. They need some. They can do stuff with that. I don't really need to drink. But it was fun. I had fun. I think I did the robot. Start mimicking the moves I was doing last night. Give me a Performance Checklist to you don't do it well. Okay. To be expected. Or to just turn around you guys.

Bruce:

Have you both away? You almost died last night.

Fraser:

What? I almost died of being love stricken with the woman you dragged me away from?

Bruce:

Probably wanting a woman? I don't know what it was but I know what

Fraser:

you are a cock block.

Bruce:

That keeps you alive. I'm alright, well

Will:

being that Archie. You saved me yet again. I owe you so much. I don't remember being saved

Bruce:

seems to be a common trope that some of us go wandering off making bad decisions while other others are not conscious.

Will:

Yeah, I do remember briefly. Marburg you have a girlfriend. I would have had a girlfriend. Well, do get them there. What

Bruce:

you two have a lot more in common than I thought. You both did make terrible fucking art decisions when I'm asleep. Huh, hustling my axe. I did hack up. We got places to be. I did fall for a girl on a puppy. Archie is grumpy. She was very

Will:

pretty. Oh, yeah. She was dead though. Huh? Yeah.

Bruce:

That fucking a lot in common there. This one was fucking dead too. I don't know what it was. I just don't just assume it was probably some kind of supernatural entity.

Will:

I mean, it definitely was when he had a roll of

Fraser:

wisdom siren or something. I

Will:

don't know. Archie's good. He has really good intentions. It probably wasn't a girl. Probably. Was she hot?

Fraser:

She was kind of cute.

Tanner:

She was very plain.

Will:

What do they call those

Bruce:

very plain,

Will:

drunk goggles. Drunk vision. beer goggles.

Tanner:

All right. You guys, you guys get up on your horses. Six and Mark bark. You guys are hung over. It's not gonna have any lasting effects. As you you hydrate and prepare but it is it is just very uncomfortable with every clop of a hoof. As you ride, Archie, you, you suffer no lasting effects of the alcohol from last night. Other than the exhaustion from staying up all night. So you do have a point of exhaustion on you and will have disadvantage on

Will:

all stability roles,

Tanner:

split disability roles, which is fun. So you continue on to the west, eventually passing by this very brambly and sort of dark old forest that exists to the north. It looks like a pain in the ass to cross and you see a dwarf hacking away at it out front just grumbling as you guys pass by. Stop.

Will:

What? What was the woods? What was the woods they said we would have to pass through or go by Darkspear thicket. Ah, yes, I believe that's dark for ticket. Maybe we should say hello.

Bruce:

Last time we said hello. We all drank through the night and now I'm fucking tired.

Will:

Oh, yes, you do look tired. I do want to get to this place that we're going that one spot that will grumble grumble, grumble tired grumble

Bruce:

grumble tire. Yeah,

Fraser:

kind of feeling like shit. I say we just keep going.

Tanner:

I yeah, I agree. Leave the dwarf to his work. Fair enough. All right, you guys continue west eventually. The day is Blustery and it is a bit slower going because the wind is coming pretty fast from the West but you're able to make pretty good time despite it and end up finding a decent spot for the night to settle down into it's well protected you've got water for the horses and enough food to get yourself through the night. So you are all well rested after this. The next morning you wake up with the sign and you no longer feel the effects of the alcohol and your exhaustion is gone

Bruce:

so much fucking better.

Will:

Does Marburg still have minus 10 HP? He does Yep.

Bruce:

Oh rough like his character probably would notice that he's feeling weaker

Tanner:

but yeah Mark Mark you you do awake noticing that you still feel drained.

Fraser:

Yeah, yeah, he didn't say he was feeling like shit sir.

Will:

Yeah. All right, it's

Fraser:

not feeling too hot.

Tanner:

So you guys continue on for your last day of travel. The grasslands here the plane is a little less wild the the grasses and so tall and you're making your way to the west and eventually off in the distance you see a pretty large forest and as you get closer and closer you notice a small town perched right up on the other side of a river on the edge of this forest and you can hear the sounds of lumber being chopped down the felling of trees some shaking as they fall down in the forest and bird scattering off in the distance but you're you're making your way towards this town that you assume is Dresden mill.

Bruce:

I thought you're gonna say you come up on a small tour of chopping wood and

Fraser:

yeah we're just gonna do a whole you know whole repeats the end you find yourself in the courtroom in the gallery of a courtroom or away with

Tanner:

all right you guys just continue on into the town onwards and upwards all right yeah. Cool you guys you guys continue on towards the town eventually you come up to the river you do what any of you know what river This is a mark bark you might if you if you want to if you want to think you know and roll for it you can

Fraser:

oh I definitely know what river This is okay, I go ahead go ahead give me a

Tanner:

it's an intelligence this do history or survival whichever one you're better at. I'll get I'll grant that's better. It's survival. Yeah, great. That's probably negative so let you know about the watershed. Oh, that's a net 20 Wow. Okay, now this this is the iron side river you know, this is how they get quite a few things down into

Will:

the capital city of Velia.

Tanner:

It's comes directly down from iron Dale. Of course, Archie you know Irondale but this, this is how they get both. A lot of a lot of their goods down into into Velia And towards the hook swarm Palace. The big thing that's on here that you're going into drawers and mill for is crowns wood, which is a very hardy, very tough tree, very tough, very tough type of wood. And you know that they would float it down from here to get it into the city. But nearby is a very well maintained bridge that comes from a road that goes north to south leads down into the main city. So it goes crossed. But this is a is a very humble town. Most of the houses are small, but well made, you can see the logs the crowns wood that are used there, this dark sort of burled wood that are used for the main foundations of most of the buildings here. There's a few shops and stores but most of it is really just to feed the workers and supply you know tools. You got your blacksmith and a couple other things. The there's a temple in town. You can see it has the shield crest of Roderick on it. But everything here is very utilitarian. It is all just to service the crowns wood, which is also the name of the forest here. And yeah, so you guys walk into town and what are you looking for?

Will:

Crowns wood. Okay, yeah, you see it is right there. The edge of town I guess I guess the first order of business guys. Just so we're all on the same page. We're trying to find to last Jabra.

Fraser:

Tallest,

Will:

tallest, tallest. Java job. So

Bruce:

why are you so bad with names?

Tanner:

Well, I don't know. I do my best. No, but it's like every name. I get yours. Right are T What about mine? Marguerite you. Bark Bark?

Bruce:

Something so how can I use maybes only maybe it's there's like, you know, you store things in crates. Maybe his head's only got so much storage.

Will:

I do have a limited amount of memory. Well, now that's cannon.

Fraser:

RAM is one of the easiest upgrades.

Will:

Ah, that's a goat.

Bruce:

There you just go steal one from the

Tanner:

shaders that passed down.

Will:

Oh, no, I had the opportunity. I was too busy doing the robot. Do it again. Give me a performance check. Please. Ooh, 70 minus one. That two that I got was minus one. So it was real bad. Oh, yeah. Okay, so this is the 60s.

Tanner:

This is way better. It's actually, you know, even though you're not professional dance. It looks like robot do.

Will:

I was hungover when I was doing the last one. Yeah.

Tanner:

Well, you were drunk. So So you were hungover? That's right. Yeah. Okay. All right. Cool. All right. So you guys are you guys are in town. What do you what are you looking for?

Bruce:

I assume there's got to be somewhere to stay or something. Right? Yep,

Tanner:

there is an in in town. You could see it pretty clearly as you enter from the bridge. It is just simple. It's a two storey building made of the same wood as everything else here. But with like a plastered front of this kind of light colored clay on that you would probably think would come from the nearby river. The sign above it says

Will:

sawing wood which is a metaphor for sleeping. Yeah, someone logs sawing

Tanner:

logs. It's solid. Yeah. Okay, then it's calling sawing. Sawing logs.

Will:

Yeah. That's pretty good. That's clever. I hate puns.

Bruce:

But it seems to be the only end we have as an option so he's probably gonna check in there.

Will:

I agree. Well, let's get rooms we only need to stay with Archie. But other than that, I will ask a roundabout Jabra, Java, Java, just as information it is pretty it is. Sunset it is sun the sun is setting. Beautiful sunset. Oh, is it actually Java? No. Tala, Sc,

Fraser:

Java, Java, I get an order to L L. ISK, J a BBA

Tanner:

Tollisk Xhaba, Java,

Fraser:

Java, Java, Java on a plain J shell. The J or not.

Will:

So it's an x H. file.

Bruce:

You guys think he wants Han Solo?

Tanner:

Nice. Nice. Good.

Bruce:

I think he's gonna freezes and Carbonite.

Tanner:

I like did you guys draw parallels that I don't even think of when I make these names. It's very

Will:

fun. Your name to Java how like, the hood? Java with Java C sharp, Java. X eight put the wrong and fastest on the wrong syllable job Java the set up of this thought, Okay, please stop. Okay. Hello. Hola Hola. Hola

Tanner:

started it. Alright, so you guys, you guys make your way to the in song logs. How do you open the door?

Bruce:

I punch it. Okay.

Fraser:

We wait I have a new idea. I have a new idea. I reached out Turn the doorknob and open the door

Tanner:

like a sane person. Man it opens right up. It's beautiful. See how easy that is? That involves turning motions.

Fraser:

Which is way simpler than just striking something.

Bruce:

Oh, man. Have you seen me start things? Pretty simple.

Fraser:

Yeah, people who are good at things do make it look easy.

Will:

Exactly. There's there's this

Tanner:

child just staring up at you because you've turned the door handle and you just listening to your conversation as you talk about how to open doors.

Will:

This is how you do it. I punched the door right the child doors you roll a dexterity safe. Wait, hold on. Oh,

Tanner:

he definitely moves out of the way of the door as you as you punch it open the rest of the way like a kid.

Will:

He was in front of the door. deck this kid is inside looking at you from inside you just push the kids square and it would be the medic now

Bruce:

save the doors all the way open. It doesn't require any more effort and I walk in.

Tanner:

Okay. This place is very rustic, stupid

Bruce:

joke of this but

Tanner:

I love it. I love it so much. This place is pretty rustic. It is you can see all the tables are pretty handmade by local craftsmen out of crowns wood. It's all nice sturdy construction. A long bar sits along the side here.

Will:

As you look through it.

Tanner:

You know there are people coming up and down the stairs but they look mostly like people that would work here. And then behind the bar is this this dwarf man with a bald head and this long beard that's actually so long that he has it tucked into his apron and wrapped up in there so it doesn't dunk and beers as he's pouring them for the for the workers here that are done after a long day of

Will:

shopping. I announced to everyone in there. Ah I'm looking for Java. I keep walking.

Bruce:

I haven't stopped okay, we're just where you are straight to the Bar Bar. Okay. Yeah,

Fraser:

I go straight to the bar.

Tanner:

A couple people turn to you with like a tired look six. And then most of them shake their heads. You hear one? One, middle aged human grumble something about out of out of towners? No one's seeing Java. Everyone's ignoring you. You walk up to the bar Archie and the bartender behind it with his long beard looks up at you. And he says Kyla friend Welcome to Sewing lugs help me help you here with our best beer in the world.

Will:

Now really best beer in the world I

Tanner:

well in this small world that we exist in where it is local and no one really leaves town and no one else knows any different but I assume if you are travelers then you might but it is still very good.

Bruce:

Alright, yeah, sure. Hi, Joanie. Our sales please. Alright,

Tanner:

he goes back and he pours you some ale he brings it up and slaps it on the table some of its slosh it from the top. This is it Did Did you know The we like giving visitors here. This is our this is an IPA. If you would like some that stands for yep, yep ain does triol pulverizing alcohol. It is very strong.

Fraser:

Did I hear very strong alcohol I'll take one and walk up to the barbicide Archer. Yes,

Will:

we just need I need to make sure you understand you're going to pay for this and he goes the other beard slaps it on the table for you. I'll get both of these. Okay,

Tanner:

you toss them a few coin any night?

Bruce:

Is he gonna? Is he gonna survive drinking both of those?

Tanner:

He's going to drink both of these. No, you are you're going to drink this one. He is going to drink Devlin

Fraser:

Yeah, I bought one for me one for you.

Bruce:

A while you're gonna survive drinking these

Fraser:

only one way to find out

Tanner:

all you're going to survive very well. I will tell you the caloric intake of this particular drink because people come in after a long day and maybe they don't feel like eating they just want to drink and go to sleep like a lot of people do. That particular thing is like eating a whole loaf of bread.

Fraser:

Marburg turns up the whole drain pounds.

Tanner:

It is heavy. Take a sip is heavy

Fraser:

immediately has an exhausted look on his face and looks at Archie. Oh, God. That's good shit.

Tanner:

You are filled up Mark Mark actually, this kind of reminds you of some of the swill. I wouldn't call it swell. It has a decent flavor, but it's an acquired taste that used to drink on on ships

Fraser:

and stuff they'd store up.

Will:

While you guys are doing that, behind you, sixes walking around to different people in the bar asking them if they know Java. Do you know Java? Eventually after like, like, the whole time y'all are talking about the beard, Java, Java,

Tanner:

the fourth person you go up to is this elderly dwarf woman with a beautiful beard, sitting in a large chair. And she just looks up at you. And she says, Hello, little one. What can I do for you? You're looking for Xhaba?

Will:

Yes to last Java also. You're pretty little I'm very big. Very big.

Tanner:

It is not polite to point out people's lack of height because I am sure I am bigger than you when it comes to swinging axe.

Will:

That's probably true. I don't own an axe. It is also euphemism but that is fine. I don't have a penis either. Gross. We stick with the euphemisms please. I am grandma. I know.

Tanner:

Tom Liske Jabba He has been here a few times waiting for someone needs to ask him to take contract to fix problem with things going south. Seems like crown business to me does not affect business of us here.

Will:

Oh, yes, that's, that's me and my associates. And as soon as we look over, that's when Mark bark is doubting his beer. Very good. Do you and your associates have names? Yes, I am Jason. I honestly don't know their names. That's strange stranger. I believe his name is Ralph's something.

Tanner:

I know. I know, Talas, Java. He is a very proper man that comes in from the Capitol and being like blah, blah, blah. Everything is not coming down. I need to figure out the problem. And then he say I am going to put out two adventurers guild this particular quest you might have visitors coming in stuff like

Will:

that. Where is he? Upstairs? Which room? I thought no, that would be creepy.

Tanner:

I don't live here work here. I drink

Will:

here. Oh, understood. I'll try them all. I started walking upstairs. And she says that her breath sounds like a really dumb idea.

Bruce:

I noticed I noticed my Marburg and I pointed six and I say this is gonna be fucking funny. Okay, and I follow six upstairs. All right. I let you make your mistakes. But I watch out Yeah, it's good. Okay,

Fraser:

I start sipping Archie's beers he walks away. It is

Will:

something else there's it's,

Tanner:

it's it's a heavy beer. I mean, it's the you can

Fraser:

already chugged one of those. You go get him and I chug, start sipping.

Tanner:

Alright, six you make your way upstairs. You notice up here there are six doors. So go ahead and give me a Romeo a D six, six. To see which of the six you 66648 Okay, you go up to Door number four. They're all marked with numbers on them. You got door number four. And do you knock politely? How are you opening these doors?

Will:

I guess I'm

Bruce:

with the only example he's ever been shown.

Will:

Oh, well. Mark Bart did just show me the turning the door handle so I will turn the door handle and then push the door.

Tanner:

Height as you do so. A woman in the corner in her dressing gown screams and runs up and slams the door shut.

Will:

Tell us Java

Tanner:

go away pervert. Okay, all

Will:

right. Just boy point. Six years Archie snickering behind him. And he's like, Okay, I, I have an idea. Archie, watch this. He points a finger to his throat and use his thumb liturgy to use this style of liturgy to Tollisk Xhaba. I'm looking for you Hear that makes his voice louder.

Tanner:

Okay, yeah, you call out it echoes through the hallway up here and you hear someone getting up from one of the rooms actually a couple of doors open. All with with different people. But door number five opens up and inside. Use see this tiefling with Amethyst skin wearing a black suit with a ruffled white collar and draconic horns that sweep back over his straight, cold black hair. He pulls the door open enough for you to get a glimpse of that through the sliver. And he picks his head out a little bit more. And he says yes, I'm Todd Liske How can I help you?

Will:

I hold up the contract and say, Tollisk Xhaba. We're here for your wood.
