Our words have an indelible impact on people that we might not understand. Our words can burden someone's spirit, and they can stir up hatred and violence. Words can exacerbate old hurts and even inflict them. At the same time, our words can build people up; they can be life-giving. Most importantly, our words, according to the bible, are the keys to the Kingdom for those who would believe. We must not keep those keys in our pockets. This reality is especially clear in our passage today – that the power of the gospel comes through God the Holy Spirit, using the mouths of those who believe.
