Feeling stuck between resistance and forward momentum? This profound conversation explores the art of knowing when to push through obstacles and when to change direction on your life path.

We dive deep into the deceptively simple but powerful guidance to "fearlessly follow charm" – a principle that invites you to move toward what feels expansive and exciting, even when fear is present. There's a crucial distinction between feeling fear and operating from a fearful mindset that can transform how you navigate uncertainty.

One of the most enlightening revelations discussed is how rigidly attaching to outcomes blocks us from recognizing nature's guidance. When inspiration that's driven you for years suddenly disappears, it might not be failure—it might be completion preparing you for something greater. Many discover that even after achieving long-sought goals, they're left wondering why their internal reality hasn't shifted as expected.

The conversation takes a profound turn when examining how service to others creates the foundation for true fulfillment. By positioning benefit to others at "the pointy end of the arrowhead" of your intentions, you align with dharma—your highest purpose. This simple but revolutionary shift in focus can naturally meet your needs while contributing to collective healing.

Questioning Your Life Path

Speaker 1

what you were saying just then about the karma, and maybe feeling like you're met with resistance when you think, no, this is, this is why didn't this work, and just keep get. Maybe feeling like you're pinning your head against a wall, yes, and I guess, just maybe. I don't know if it's the mind or if it's like the ongoing yeah, mind shadow. It's like what should I be doing? Am I doing this wrong? Am I doing this life thing wrong? Maybe I'm on the wrong path. The constant thing how do you go about making sure that you're actually on your right, aligned path and decision making and and not giving you taking, uh, resistance and when things don't work out how you should?

Fearlessly Following Charm

Speaker 2

personally, yeah, this part of the journey is what sculpts the details of our spiritual personality. It's a beautiful thing. We don't want to bypass this too quickly. We want to become very curious.

Speaker 2

This question you're asking is so incredibly important. How do I know if I'm on the right path? Well, what was it that got you on that path in the first place? What was the feeling that you had that made you decide I'm going to invest time and energy in this right? There's always a feeling, there's inspiration, there's motivation. It's like oh, I can't stop thinking about this thing, I need to do this right.

Speaker 2

Unless, of course, you are in circumstances where you're like I can't think creatively right now. I just need to make ends meet. I need to just find the next best thing to do, the next thing, anything that I can do to make sure that I can cover my rent and pay my bills and all of that kind of stuff. And sometimes we find ourselves there and this is again karma forcing circumstances and constraints in order for us to confront ourself, because it's not until we have a certain level of pressure that we are forced to look more inwardly and discover something about ourself. So even these circumstances are rich with knowledge and insight. But in the event that you have this degree of creative latitude to make some decisions about what you want to do in your life, and then you have a feeling about it and you move in the direction of it, you are listening to the impulse of nature's creative intelligence guiding. The only rule is to listen to what is compelling, that feels expansive and exciting, charming, and move in that direction, without trying to think too much about it.

Releasing Rigid Attachments

Speaker 2

There's a statement that we say fearlessly, follow charm as a directive of operation, how we operate Just fearlessly, follow the charm. And that fearlessly means you can be afraid, sorry, you can feel the fear, but you're not afraid. It's like oh yeah, I feel fear, I'm in the unknown, I don't know what's going to happen. Do I have the capability to actually do this thing? There's the feeling of fear there, but the mindset is not one of fear. I'm going to continue stepping into the unknown and invariably we are going to notice where we are rigidly attached to an idea that we have, where we are rigidly attached to an idea that we have, where we might be heading in this direction, but nature is the impulse, is pulling us in this direction and we may not be detecting it and we may be met with some kind of resistance. And for me, you ask me the question what do I do? If I'm noticing any resistance? I let go, I go, I'm just going to sit here for a moment and I'm going to let the whole thing go. Maybe everything that I'm doing is no longer relevant, because this can be the case.

Speaker 2

You can be pursuing something for years, building something, then all of a sudden, the inspiration for it just disappears. And if you're a meditator and you've been practicing for some time, I would say, oh, you should listen to that, because that's disappeared and something else is emerging, and everything that you did up until that time was in the name of getting you ready for something else. Up until that time was in the name of getting you ready for something else. The danger that we face as humans recovering from ignorance is the rigid attachment that we have to the ideas, the outcomes of the desires that we feel, and the way that we assign the attachment, the outcome. When we assign the outcome, when this thing happens, everyone's going to know just how great I am, but until that day, I'm not so great. I need to achieve this thing, this thing needs to happen, and then I will have arrived, and if that thing does come to pass, what you come to learn very quickly is oh, nothing's changed. I'm still the same person, with all Wow. The acquisition of that status did not move the needle on my internal reality. And so the thing that we want to be very vigilant in noticing is the rigid attachment to the thing that we're doing and the direction that we're moving in, and what we are holding onto as the promise of what it might deliver us.

Leading With Service

Speaker 2

To take it even deeper, to recognize that our deepest nature and the expression of it is one of service. The full expression of our power and our creative potential is in the understanding that fulfillment is actualized when we are truly in service of the greater good of as many people and as many things as possible. May these actions benefit as many people as possible, and that we lead with service. Any sort of residual benefit is kind of further down the arrowhead. At the pointy end of the arrowhead is the benefit.

Speaker 2

The attention is on how I'm going to benefit others. You take the attention off yourself. All your needs are naturally met because you are living dharma. This is dharma. I am bringing the fullness of myself, my creative potential, everything that I have, all the resources that I have access to, and I am creating something that is going to have benefit to the world, and if all humans lived like this, the world would change overnight. So it's a simple solution. The simple solution to all the world's problems is for everybody to just wake up to their responsibility to serve the greater good. It's like a fanciful dream, but this is the solution.

Adjusting Your Perspective

Speaker 2

And so, going back to what I was talking about earlier, you were imbued with knowingness. Knowingness is a part of you, it's in you, and all you need to do is constantly be in touch with that, and when you're facing resistance and roadblocks is to go okay, am I just a little bit off in my orientation here? Do I need to just like, adjust? Is there something that is beckoning for my attention to adjust? And most times you'll notice, yeah, oh, it's just. I'm not noticing this over here, but you can't have that sort of that ability to swivel in your perception, your perspective, if you're visually attached to a particular outcome. It's got to be done like this, and so a big part of the work is learning how to let go of white knuckling. Of course, we've got to steer it, but we don't a white knuckle it. If we feel a force against the wheel, go with it. Or like this
