This week on “Learning To Bet On Yourself”, I catch up with my favorite Italian lady and skin care partner in crime, Miss Nixie Mistri. Nixie coins her own catch phrase “That sounds good!” and correlates it back to how she’s been taking charge of her own destiny and seeking out career opportunities that allow her to reach beyond the potentially linear path as a commissioned officer in the United States Air Force. From a humble beginning as an ROTC scholarship awardee at the University of Florida, to leading procurement teams at a high visibility military to installation, to being one of the few selected for a competitive civilian education program, Nixie emphasizes the importance of taking chances on yourself to get the experiences you want in your career and your personal life.
