I welcome you to “The Conversation Network” podcast, a new space for my guests and me to share our stories about how we are all just doing our best to get through this business called life one caffeinated beverage, one streaming service, one food delivery order at a time. Think of it as catching up or reconnecting with an old friend. We hope to give you entertainment that will make you laugh, smile, and feel seen. Or at the very least, give you some background noise for your drive, airplane ride, or wherever and whenever you can fit us in. We’ll be talking about (almost) anything and everything. This week on “Learning To Bet On Yourself”, I welcome my former troop and good friend to the podcast, Mr. Adam Taylor. We both share a common thread that we entered the military at an “older” age and discuss about the advantages and disadvantages of doing so. Adam shares with us his experiences with the DoD SkillBridge program, and how it’s a true test of “betting on yourself” with networking and introducing others to your talents and abilities in hopes of seeking a full-time job opportunity. He also talks about his “Watch Me!” moments and how he rises above when someone may doubt his abilities, and the importance of bringing others up with him as he continues navigating the aspects of life in his career, education, and fatherhood.
