Nic was born in the West Highlands of Scotland and moved to Fernie at the age of four when his father came here to take a job in mine reclamation at Kaiser Resources. His late father, Tony Milligan, is considered the father of open-pit mine reclamation in the province of British Columbia.
Nic was raised in Fernie and is passionate about this community. He has decided to run for office to give back to this incredible place but also because of a long history of community engagement, consultation, building bridges, and finding collaborative solutions around shared values. Nic believes the community can benefit from the application of those skills in municipal government.
