Welcome back to the Property Mindset Podcast. I'm Phil Gad and today we're exploring the top five winter activities that make Fernie, British Columbia, the must visit winter destination. Whether you're chasing adrenaline or seeking serene winter beauty, Fernie offers something for everyone during the snowy season. Epic powder skiing at Fernie Alpine Resort. First up, Fernie Alpine Resort, known for its legendary powder. Fernie gets up to nine meters of snow every year. With over two and a half thousand acres of terrain, 142 runs, and five amazing alpine bowls, this resort offers an unforgettable experience for skiers and snowboarders of all level. Now I can truly attest to this. Just the other day, me and my daughter went up and it was a great cloudy day in town. And then when we broke through, on the white pass to one of the most spectacular inversions I've ever seen, in Fernie and they open polar peak, the highest lift that you can get to the top. And it was just a magical morning. highly recommend. If you're into skiing and snowboarding, then Fernie Alpine Resort is one of the best mountains. I've lived here for 15 years and I honestly, can't think of a better place, for snowboarding. number two, is the backcountry, cat skiing operations that we have here in Fernie. if untouched back country powder is your calling, Fernie delivers with world class cat skiing operations. Companies like Island Lake Lodge and Fernie Wilderness Adventures offer guided trips into pristine mountain terrain for the ultimate. Deep powder experience number three. One of my favorites I'm pretty much addicted to this was out there this morning with my dog and that's fat biking the trails in fernie these days are amazing. I truly love fat biking. I am a massive fan Uh, whether you're looking for a fresh twist on a winter adventure You've got to try fat biking. on Fernie's snowpack trails, they're groomed every day. Montaigne, Ridgemont Stowe, Fat Bastard, all the trails are incredible. with your wide, low pressure tires, these bikes, Glide over the snow. So much fun, especially on a beautifully, groomed trail. it turns summer biking trails into amazing winter routes. I highly recommend checking that out. number four, snowshoeing up to Fairy Creek Falls, for something a little more peaceful and genteel, this 4. 7 kilometer round trip trail leads you to a breathtaking frozen waterfall in the wintertime. A must see for winter hikers and photographers, Instagrammers alike. So the last one we're going to talk about today in at number five is cross country skiing. for a classic winter workout, Fernie's cross country skiing network is second to none from the Elk Valley Nordic Centre groomed trails to Free, Montaigne and Fernie RV, the golf course says something for every ski level. And not forget, there's actually amazing trails at Fernie Alpine Resort. From adrenaline pumping powder runs to peaceful winter hikes, Fernie offers a winter experience you won't find anywhere else. which adventure are you ready to take on?
