Welcome, welcome, welcome. We are in studio, Branch View Studio, with producer Tim, Commissioner Kyle, yours truly, Quincy, and Miles. The gang is all here. Got a full house today, you know?
SPEAKER_02Feels good. It's exciting. Okay, we got drinks flowing. Yes. So the commissioner got a ride here today. Yeah. Yes, I think. So I think that the general that here let me just talk about the message I received from that. Is that the commissioner's ready to blow it out? He brought a bottle of bourbon. Yeah, and it's not just any bourbon. This is the Nighthawk Dragon bourbon. And you gotta actually But it's unopened. It's unopened.
SPEAKER_04But on the label, so you gotta like put the full thing in context. On the label, it's step brothers. Oh, I didn't know that.
SPEAKER_02Oh, we we should get a photo of this and put it in the case. I was gonna say that looks like cool. Yeah, it's trade decent. That's gonna room for activities strained. You could throw instead of jet. Yeah. Did we just become best friends? Yep.
unknownYep.
SPEAKER_02No, Kyle's got a Kyle's got a fresh haircut. I think he's getting ready to get lit tonight. Got a new haircut.
SPEAKER_04I did tell Quincy when he he offered, well, I asked him if he would pick me up, and I said, good, because I'm getting popped.
SPEAKER_03Kyle's ready to have a freak-off tonight. Well, and I was like, you know, I might have a few too. And then I pull up to Kyle's, get out, he hands me a roadie, and I'm and then I look and see I've got a headlight out. I'm like, yeah, I'm out.
SPEAKER_02I'm out. That kind of stuff will work in Zionsville, but not in Indianapolis. So Quincy brought up a good uh a good uh idea for our bet for the teams, our collective uh picks for the weeks. He said uh loser has to do a freak-off. Okay, now Kyle asked Kyle goes, What's a freak-off?
SPEAKER_04I've never heard of it.
SPEAKER_02I mean, I still don't really get the kits. He's been doing it with Kitcha for years. Kitchen does this to you once a week at least. You know, yeah. So explain what a freak-off is. Are you following the P Diddy situation?
SPEAKER_04I asked what it was.
SPEAKER_02No, I have not been following the P. Diddy situation. A lot of lube, a lot of P T V oil, a lot of hot, sweaty bodies.
SPEAKER_04Oh, is it so is that what Diddy did where they had like the 10-gallon or like 100-gallon like lube bulk distributed.
SPEAKER_02Did you see that the that generative AI image of that someone requested like an image of federal agents uh uh going into P Diddy's house and finding a thousand bottles of loop? And it's this like bathroom and all along the sides of it is all like bottles of lube, and then there's then there's FBI guys in the background.
SPEAKER_04Did it look like it was like interior decorator? Like it's like nice?
SPEAKER_02Or is it just like I just think a lot of people wondered what the inside of Miles' house was like, and then we found out is this why there's delays on your new building? Uh is there a lube room?
SPEAKER_04So I need these built-in.
SPEAKER_02Are these floors slick enough? Um no. Well the newest conspiracy is that those bottles of lube had like uh some sort of drug in them that made people like an MDMA type thing in it. What's MDMA? God damn, Kyle. Again, I don't live in these rabbit holes in Molly. Kitchen has been slipping the shit to you. Well like ecstasy.
SPEAKER_04I mean, uh I'm an innocent. It's like a it's just like a treat. I mean it's it's like boy.
SPEAKER_02Someone says what's MDMA and Quincy says it's Molly, and then what's Molly? And Molly says it's ecstasy. I'm like, well, what's ecstasy? We're just gonna have to choke out here in a bit.
SPEAKER_04It's just like whenever I show up to parties and I've got a pineapple shirt on for years. People just kept giving me comments and I'm like, I don't really care about the phone. Why did you wear the pineapple shirt?
SPEAKER_02Why do you show up to parties with so much?
SPEAKER_04But you're gonna so nice to it. After the first time, wouldn't you stop wearing it? No, I just I mean like I thought it was just a lot of people. But you've had multiple pineapple shirts. Guys, let's be honest. You guys have been giving me shit my whole life. So I've just started to learn to embrace it. And so I just think it's just a lot of people.
SPEAKER_02And they've met a lot of great couples that way.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, we have so many friends.
SPEAKER_02I was like, I'm gonna show them, and now he just swings. It took a really bad turn.
SPEAKER_03It's the after dark, it's the after dark uh podcast. You know what? Uh changing subjects. I don't have I don't have one for this evening, but we really need to bring back the ad reads. Yeah, that was nice.
SPEAKER_02Well, we need to have people start paying for the ad reads instead of the fake ad reads. That's true. Wait, those were fake. We never got it to adapt. I wrote them. Oh, I think Quincy was embezzling the money. Oh. Well, in in in those days, if you recall, Quincy was embezzling money through the CNC bet. Yes. That's true. Yeah. It all comes out. But yeah. Um, well, we got a good show. I think we're gonna have a special guest call in here in a little bit. Um and yeah. Well, what do we think after what three weeks of the season? I don't know.
SPEAKER_03Some silence. Wow. No one has an opinion. I just think you you're looking at some broken people across from you too.
SPEAKER_04I mean, no, I'm obviously I feel good. I'm I'm I'm I'm fine with it. True.
SPEAKER_02But I put up 113 points or 110, I mean we'll talk about it later, but I mean I'll let you guys dive into your to the to the weak results real quick. But I would just like to give a shout-out to Mr. Phil Snowberg. Oh yes, right at the beginning. And I'm sorry, was absolutely bullied into changing his team name. Yes.
SPEAKER_04But you know what? I thought he even took it a step further. I love the logo. Oh, he has a logo.
SPEAKER_02The logo's good. Yeah. Oh wow, I'll have to look that up. Uh yeah, I mean, I think that's great. This this this team name is way better than what it was before. The bullying is bullying work. In male circles. It's how we turn it. No, it's great. And he changed it before week three. Yeah, so shout out to Phil. I think that's great. I think your team is going to really take a new direction. Do you think this was his plan all along? Like he knew he was gonna bullied in too. I think we need to get Phil on the pod and and really get the full story. And Laporta was just not having a good year. And he and he I mean he just got hurt. Yeah, and he has an ankle sprain this week. Is he out this week? If they said low ankle, so he's probably with the low ankle, he's back, but he's just not getting the target to use. Well, do you want to do that? Do you want to start with that matchup? No, well, we can just talk. So we've got Jake at 3-0 overall, and also Beamer at 3-0. I don't think just like everyone expected. This was Kyle's dark horse, right?
SPEAKER_04I've I've said it from the beginning. I'm like uh I'm like most proud.
SPEAKER_03I think people are getting how much you've been talking about it.
SPEAKER_02Well, I but I call it it out. And Jake scored he had high point high points this week, and he didn't even have um uh he didn't even have a fully healthy roster. Um Debo Samuel is out. So you look at his roster and it's strong top to bottom, I think. Well, you I mean it starts with Saquon. Like Saquon has been insane. So let me just jump in here. I think we have a special caller now. He was gonna call us. I'm gonna call him. Um and Commissioner Kyle, maybe you before we put this call in, maybe you want to do a quick intro as to who's going to pick up the phone.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, so we have our special guest tonight is Adam Shanks from the JV or junior CCPL league. And uh, we thought it'd be great to have him come on board and talk a little bit about what's going on in that league, give us some insight to uh what uh Braden's like as a commissioner.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that'll be. Yeah, we're gonna have some Braden questions. And uh yeah. All right, I'm gonna go ahead and uh I'm gonna go ahead and put that call through. Uh it's gonna be someone's gonna it's gonna ring.
SPEAKER_03That's how we know it's real. This isn't one of those Bob and Tom things. No, this is a real thing. Holy live. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04No recording. What if he does it? No pre-recording. He does have a new baby. So you know. Isn't he in the fields? It's probably there. He is. Hey. How's it going, buddy?
SPEAKER_05Good. How are you doing?
SPEAKER_03We're doing great. Adam, you are on with Miles Hodge, Quincy, Kyle, and producer Tim. Commissioner Kyle.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_03Okay. Yeah, we get we we need to have a certain level of decorum here. I think he has to earn that respect, to be honest.
SPEAKER_02So, Adam, thanks for joining the the uh podcast this week. Um, for our listeners, why don't why don't we allow him to introduce himself? Yeah. Like, why are you even here? Why are you calling? Why am I calling you?
SPEAKER_01Well, that's a good question because you guys are the ones that want to be on. Let's be clear.
SPEAKER_02Are you a regular, a regular listener of the pod?
SPEAKER_01Uh long time listener, first time caller.
SPEAKER_03So, Adam, give us like we don't have any insight into this other league. We'd love to just kind of get a top-level overview, like who's in it, what's it like, how's Brayton as a commissioner, etc. Do you guys have a name for the league?
SPEAKER_01So the name is is salmon fishing, and uh I think it's a movie reference reference. I'm really bad at movies, but um, it just so happens, which we'll kind of dive into all this, but uh like I think there's content taken from your league, but then like in retrospect, um in any fantasy league or or like I run a survivor challenge, I think for you to get in it, you're taking content or ideas from other people. So like it just so happens I really like that. I was a kid growing up playing like Magic, like I wanted to play in the one that this many stats. So when you talked about Cody doing stats, um I kind of started doing that in our league, and I don't know how he does it. I kind of do different stuff. Exactly. But uh what's different about ours is I looked it up. So we joined Sleeper in 2020, so this would be our fifth year in the sleeper app. And our league with the same name started in 2016 on uh Yahoo. And it was 14 person then and dropped to 12, and then we made the move back to Sleeper. So this would be our ninth year, I think, ninth or ten.
SPEAKER_03Wow. So it's still it's still twelve teams, is that right?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah. And like that's where you know, I think Braden's a really good commissioner, and hea, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Thanks for calling in Adam.
SPEAKER_00We'll talk to him soon.
SPEAKER_02Whoa. So no, I think I think that's interesting because in our league, Braden was the second most recent owner and also the youngest. So he's he's looked at as like the you know he uh little no little known fact at him.
SPEAKER_03He made a run for commissioner a few years back, didn't quite get across the finish line. Um but I'm glad to hear he's a strong commissioner in your league. That's that's good.
SPEAKER_01Based on his name, this would be the 0.6 year and right.
SPEAKER_03Have you seen the videos?
SPEAKER_01I have seen the videos.
SPEAKER_03Okay, that's great. Yeah, obviously.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and and I I wasn't present for the mega ramp video, but I'm very familiar with that.
SPEAKER_02Well, that's just generally viral. Yeah, I feel like all of Carol County knows about that video. Carol County knows about that. The greatest video of all time.
SPEAKER_01So, I mean I've I've been to the top of that ramp, but I didn't have the courage or the liquid courage to go down.
SPEAKER_02So you didn't break your collarbone. So, how's your team doing this year? Why don't you give us a 45-second kind of overview on uh how your team looks three weeks in?
SPEAKER_01Uh I my team personally, I love my team. Um I'm actually one and two if I can get the pull up.
SPEAKER_02But it says everyone. I gotta play. What's the team name?
SPEAKER_01Uh so mine is B. B. John. I I had JT as my keeper. So we were in 2020, it was our first year in sleeper, and then 2021 was the proposal for the keeper aspect. So the first year we had keepers was 2022. And my keeper was JT, and then when he got into contract issues, uh, I didn't want to keep him. So how we do it is consolation, winner consolation is gonna be the one oh one, and then how you finish in the consolation works backwards to the sixth pick. And then like the worst team in the winner's bracket is gonna be the 107, and then winner is gonna be the last pick.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, so that's that's how we do it. How how do you uh how what's your keeper rule?
SPEAKER_01So we are uh if you keep a if you keep someone that has to be a first round pick. And then if you keep a first round pick, you have an option for flex. And so it gets kind of sketchy because if you don't have a first round keeper, then you kind of lose the flex position. That's interesting.
SPEAKER_02That's the exact rule we had three years ago.
SPEAKER_04Guys, guys, how does it feel? Like we've we've like literally, we've got a little baby.
SPEAKER_03We've got trailblazers now. Trailblazers.
SPEAKER_01It is different because Braden proposes, you know, concepts, and I think you know, we'd be lying, because I'm gonna be pretty transparent. There's reference, like, well, like, is this because the documents go out? The CCPL does this. But the point is, like, he has pushed really hard for 14, and he gets probably the most shit for anything for that. Like, we're very content with our league. Like, I did a a PowerPoint that was serious but joking before a draft, and I was like, the best team in our league over four years is 10% over 500 in terms of win percentages, and the worst team is 10% below. And if you look at points four and yeah, points for and points against, it's really tight.
SPEAKER_03So who is we've never had a PowerPoint. Who's been it sounds like you've ran the numbers, who's been the most successful franchise in your league? Who owns that team?
SPEAKER_01So that's what's weird. Um, in terms of win percentage, it's Mason Lane. But Braden started off back-to-back champion, and then our champion in 2022 was a little controversial because he won, but someone called in to draft for him.
SPEAKER_04Oh that would be Yikes.
SPEAKER_02That'd be ultimately we've not had what's worse, someone calling in the draft for him or playing basketball during the draft. Calling in. Yeah, I think calling in.
SPEAKER_04Especially if you've won it that year. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02So uh Kyle told us it was maybe your brainchild to have the you know, maybe Olympic scenario where we have maybe a cross cross league matchup.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it was, and I mean, in his defense, we it was like briefly over text and we didn't really get into it. And I think you explained the gist of it pretty well. Um, how I would view it more, you know, I know it's been referenced as Olympics, I I would view it more as like a rider topic, you know? Yeah, like and and I think too, like, obviously if there is support for it, then you see how you want to handle it. But like I think you kind of decide, you know, because we only have twelve and you guys have fourteen, you need to set parameters. So obviously, I guess if you wanted our top seven to match your seven, we could or vice versa. But for round numbers, if you did the top six from each league, I think maybe you set like the top three seeds in the regular season or like the auto qualifiers, and then with the Ryder Cup aspect, it would be up to the commissioners to hand pick the other three best. I like this a lot. Owners.
SPEAKER_02This is the other three best owners just from one of those like crossover episodes in the 80s. Yeah, you know, would you be interested when the people from Family Matter show up in full house?
SPEAKER_03No, or uh Adam, would you be interested in taking Corbin Beamer's team? Well, he's only been on probation like three consecutive seasons. He's three and a half.
SPEAKER_01I gotta be careful because if if Corbin listens to the podcast, if we lose power, he doesn't hold that against me.
SPEAKER_02So no, I think this is something we should definitely keep keep discussing and seeing seeing where it goes. I like it. Or I like the idea of like a relegation. Maybe we add two teams to the CCPL, but it's the best two teams from the junior league the year before.
SPEAKER_03That would solve my concern because I want us to be to 16 teams. Yeah. We would have to shorten roster or the best teams.
SPEAKER_02And those turnover, right? Unless those those two teams are again the next two teams. So they they like literally played to be on league. But they get to keep they also get to keep the team in the other leagues. I have a question. Does it offend you that these three guys are talking about your league as like an inferior league? Well, like what if they wanted to relegate their teams to us?
SPEAKER_01Absolutely not. Well, there's there's two things to this. I think one, you know Braden's the commissioner.
SPEAKER_04That's fair.
SPEAKER_01Okay, so like I said, there's three points to this. One, Braden's the commissioner. Uh two, you know, I didn't know what to expect. I thought it'd be a good conversation, but in my head, I'm like, well, there's there's one JV member and there's four CCPLs, and there's definitely a chance where this maybe turns into from a conversation to maybe like a Harris Trump campaign debate where it's like a fact check you on that. But but I I think I think uh there is a lot of like crossover in how some of our members know members in each league. Obviously, not everybody knows everybody, but I think there is you know the the camaraderie from all being from the same area and then the the sheer competitiveness between, you know, like hero Delphi, Delphi, 20 Legs, and then obviously the leagues. And so like I said, if if there is no legs to support like a writer cup, I get, but I think if we could commit, I think it could be a blast.
SPEAKER_03So I think there's a lot of momentum in in our league for that. Uh what's the feedback been in your league? Has has it been socialized at all?
SPEAKER_01Well, to be to be honest, because you know, obviously Brady's in your league and I listen regularly because I just I'm a podcast guy, and because I know a lot of people in your league, I find it funny to listen. But I don't know what percentage of our group actually listens to it. So, you know, what if we say like half of our league listens to your podcast, and then maybe only like three or four are actually understand what's going on in terms of a potential writer cap?
SPEAKER_03Maybe we should do like a uh a joint offseason event to get to know some of the lower ownership.
SPEAKER_04So I I do have a quick question. Is everyone in your league from Carroll County? Uh yeah. Okay. So so they so they would qualify.
SPEAKER_03You know what you should do, Adam. I'm not telling you how to run your league, but I'm kind of telling you how to run your league. He's not telling us how to run a Carroll League.
SPEAKER_02I ran this one for 12 years.
SPEAKER_01It'd be Braden. You need to tell Brayden how to run this league.
SPEAKER_03No, I'll all all I'm gonna say is since everyone in your league right now is from Carroll County, either lives there now or is was originally from there, you should go ahead and and create a rule that everyone in your league has to be from Carroll County and because everyone's grandfathered in right now and protected, so they shouldn't be against it.
SPEAKER_01The only the only problem with that is um probably similar to your league, there is, believe it or not, even though it's you know you guys call it the junior varsity league, there is a a lot of interest to join our league as well. And so I think that is part of the push from Braden is one to maybe get other members in, but also from a scheduling standpoint, it it is it does make more sense. Now I was probably one more against it just because I think our league is so competitive and I'm pretty content with how everything's functioning. But I see both sides of it.
SPEAKER_02So yeah. The only thing I would say is that.
SPEAKER_01And the people that want to join, not all of them are from Carroll County, but they get along with the group and know the group, so that's kind of where it gets tough.
SPEAKER_02They the only thing I would have for the Ryder Cup is it would be a little we'd be a little bit at a disadvantage since we are in a 14-team league, so our teams are a little bit more picked over than yours. That's a good point. Than your teams are at twelve. And then is your roster construction the same as ours? Is it one running back and two flex and two wide receivers?
SPEAKER_01Uh it wasn't, but then we moved to that because it seemed like running backs were getting scared. But but see, that's you know, I know you guys aren't your for a flex keeper, you guys are ADP plus two.
SPEAKER_03Only if they came off the waiver wire.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Because that's next year. That was pet petitioned and that got hacked really quick.
SPEAKER_03Who petitioned that?
SPEAKER_01But see, that's what I'm saying, like I think because we were new to the keeper system, we were all for the keeper, but that's what I'm saying, like, you know, I know Kennel Ross is in the Survivor Pool I run, and it should have been senior league. And so, like, I only did a survivor pool because I heard about it and wanted to join one, couldn't find one, so I made one. So I would argue, like, we've been a fantasy league since 2016. Wanted to spice it up and get it a little more interesting and moved it to the keeper league.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it'll like it all takes time. Progression happens over yeah, absolutely. I get that. Any other uh any thoughts to uh impart on us about our league before uh we let you go or the podcast?
SPEAKER_01No, I I genuinely enjoy it just because I know everybody and I do think it's a good listen. But uh I'm hoping moving forward, maybe you know, Tim is Braden's only fan, so if uh my league if my league supports me to be the lobbyist uh like Quincy for our league and Tim will be my number one fan. I'm not sure if it'd be regular, but if if you do need a guy and I'm I'm not somewhere in the field showing corn, then I would come on.
SPEAKER_02Cool. That's great. How's your crop look this year?
SPEAKER_01Uh pleasantly surprised you for him. Don't want to get too excited, Jim.
SPEAKER_02Well, awesome. Thanks for coming on. This was good.
SPEAKER_03Good segment. Far better than that Greg Lane last week. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02We'll send the uh we'll send the Spotify link out to you and uh put that in the uh sleeper chat for the JV League. Let those guys listen.
SPEAKER_01I can do that. I can definitely do that. All right. Thanks for calling.
SPEAKER_02Thanks for calling.
SPEAKER_01Thanks, Adam.
SPEAKER_02That was a good segment. That was really good. That was great. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I love how I want that guy in our league. They really look up to us a lot. Okay. All of their rules were exactly ours.
SPEAKER_04I wanted to ask if in their if they had laid out in their constitution, if you could if anybody could propose a rule. If we propose a rule that they change their name.
SPEAKER_02Quincy, you know those rules and like that that there are certain states that like base their environmental laws as to whatever California does.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Like I think that maybe the JV team is going to pass that sort of law. Like whatever CCPL does, they just take that. We are the model legislation. Right. Yeah. For the other league. This is like the Alec of CCPL. Exactly.
SPEAKER_03Very niche reference.
SPEAKER_02Probably not many listeners. Shout out Alec. Shout out Alec. The other L E C the other thing I found fascinating is how much he knew about our he is a very good idea. He's a listener. I can't tell you how much I love that.
SPEAKER_04He's listened, but also like, you know, so Adam and me, like, we do some stuff together. We've treated beans for them. Like he's in and out of my office. Pineapple stuff? Swing. No, no. I've offs. No. No.
SPEAKER_02We'd start about this when Adam doesn't have a chance to defend himself. This is all.
SPEAKER_04Is this part of it? Have we even discussed this in the podcast? Or was this before the podcast? Oh, we're talking all about my pineapple shirts.
SPEAKER_02That was definitely on the podcast. That was definitely on the podcast. So here's the thing. We're going long tonight. It's a good one. I think that which is fine. I just think that maybe I'd like to suggest that we talk about last week's research. Let's talk about it. Okay. Alright. Um, week three. Honestly, when you look at it, everyone's still in this thing. Like, there's only like one game that separates a playoff team from a non-playoff team at this point. So are you telling me filling holes is still in it? He's still in it. Okay. He's he's still there.
SPEAKER_03I I think Pete's still in it.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. So Kindle's got to get some players back quick. For sure. So let's go through that. So matchup with uh Kindle. He scores about 94 and a half to Kyle's Whiskey Tango Foxtrot. 119. Big output from you, Kyle. What do you think?
SPEAKER_04Well, I was telling Quitsy this on the way in. I was actually scared the whole time. Like, well, not the whole time. Like, I th I I started to see like notifications like, okay, yeah, my team's doing pretty good. And then I opened the app and it's like, wait, Jennings has gone off for 40 points. I was actually a little nervous going into Monday night, even though like I still had like a 30-point lead. I'm like, if he can get one guy off the waiver to do 40, he could get another guy to do 30.
SPEAKER_02That almost feels like the difference maker. Well, that's what's crazy about his team right now is Jennings has 41 and uh Ishavas, I think that's how you pronounce his name, had almost 14. Like those are the highest scorers on his team. But yeah, on your side, Kamara looks great. Olave's coming back.
SPEAKER_04My biggest benefit, which we're seeing all these injuries, yeah. I've got depth. You do have depth. I mean, you're gonna be able to play singletary next week. That's just where that will that will be the biggest thing if we come into buy we start coming into buys, we start seeing how injuries shake out. Yep. Kindle's the prime example of injuries can just decimate a team. Yep. And even if he did have depth, I I think his was just the extreme.
SPEAKER_02But are you uh are you long on CJ Stroud as your starting quarterback?
SPEAKER_04I'm still fine with it.
SPEAKER_03Like I, you know, yeah, maybe a little bit of a sophomore side.
SPEAKER_04I mean, he's he's still probably outproducing Anthony Richardson. Oh, yeah. Right?
SPEAKER_02Like, you know, uh, yeah.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. So I'm okay.
SPEAKER_02He's also he has also outmatched Quincy, Miles, and myself.
SPEAKER_04The only thing that I just say that I'm more worried about is Tank Dell.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_04I I thought he would have more clout in this offense. And and Diggs has he's he's clearly the number two. Diggs is getting Williams.
SPEAKER_02Was Charbonnet a spot start for you, or was he he starting the whole time? A couple weeks. Yeah, two weeks in the room.
SPEAKER_03He benched DK Metcalf last week. I did over Charbonnet.
SPEAKER_02Charbonnet's have been having a great season. And I played Tank Tell. And the Seahawks look really good. What's the update on Walker? Uh I I'm betting he plays this week. Okay. Next matchup, speaking of Walker, let's go with Cody's matchup. Cody uh had a down week after starting 2-0. Uh 74, he loses to SCLC muddogs, and Ryan scores about 100.
SPEAKER_03With a zero from his hot start, Shahid.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Yeah, what happened there? Shahid's a big play wide receiver. So if he doesn't get that big play, um but for uh Maxwell, I mean, Kyron Williams goes off for 30. Brock Purdy has a big day, uh, 26 points.
SPEAKER_03Um Zach Moss had 18. This is a big win for Maxwell as you look at the grand scheme of everything, because he gets zero out of Shahid and isn't able to play Joe Mixon. And Mike Evans does nothing. Does nothing. So to squeak away a victory against big data this week, that's a this is one of those consequential wins as you look at trying to get into the playoffs.
SPEAKER_02What do we think about Cody? Obviously, Kyler Murray has been really good this year. Jonathan Taylor has been good, but without Tua, Waddle is maybe flexworthy. Like he's no longer a like surefire start of a wide receiver. He played Lockett again, only had seven points.
SPEAKER_03Um to earth. I I still like the team. It might be a slight, you know, slightly weaker because Tua's gone right now. Or maybe forever.
SPEAKER_02Well, I think, I mean, I I think if two is gone for the season, Waddle's in a lot of trouble. And and he's in trouble in his we already said his wide receiver two was already at his weak spot on his roster. Yeah. And if his wide receiver one spot has now become also a weakness, like that that brings his team down a little bit.
SPEAKER_03McBride is likely missing uh week four. Yeah. Uh which we'll talk about when we get to the week four matchups. But Buck, Bucky Irving, I mean, he's got him sitting there. That's a high upside guy. That's why I'm still pretty high on Cody's team. Yeah. But you're right about the receiver component, no doubt about it. But down week for for big data.
SPEAKER_02Next up, uh, we already talked a little bit about it. Jake had high points, 122 to Pete, had a really good week, 106, but he loses. Um for Pete, Amari Cooper had 24. He finally had a good game. Dallas Goddard had an enormous game. 10 receptions, 170 yards. Is that like the best tight end points we've had yet? I think so.
SPEAKER_04I I heard a stat that like the tight ends are only averaging like eight points per game. And last year, they were averaging around 14. No, so I got it.
SPEAKER_02I think Goddard's tight end one on the year, right? I screenshotted this. Um, last right now, the tight end position has 13 touchdowns on the season. Half of those, over half of those, have gone to basically backup tight ends. So tight ends that no one was going to be playing on their fantasy teams that week. Last year, that is by far the lowest since like 2000. The other lowest was last season, and they had 25 touchdowns. To this season's 13. You know, there was some wasteland.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. There were some brutal losses in week three, but I would argue that Pete's loss is just as severe, if not worse, because he goes into week three, oh and two, puts up 106 points, and still loses. He could have played most other people in one.
SPEAKER_02He was probably feeling really good about this week and it just wasn't enough.
SPEAKER_04So I just a quick note on this. I maybe Pete does or does not want me to disclose this, but Pete. He he was contemplating a name change.
SPEAKER_02Oh wow. Really? Can you share what he wanted to do?
SPEAKER_04He didn't say it was actually he he missed the deadline, and then he was try he was questioning whether he still had time. We might make an exception. I don't know. No, the rule state at the end of week three.
SPEAKER_02You heard the commissioner.
SPEAKER_04Anyways.
SPEAKER_02I will say for Pete, he did trade with me uh on Sunday for Cam Akers. Cam got a touchdown, so he got him like nine and a half points. But I cannot believe he was really wanting to win this week, is why he made that move. I picked up Akers for zero.
SPEAKER_03I can't believe you moved him for $15 fab. You think that's high? No, that's nothing. Fab is fiat in our league.
SPEAKER_02Fab is fiat this year. It's crazy. Uh next up, fill in holes, loses 78 to Titties 97.
SPEAKER_03Uh we gotta be careful about how negatively we speak about Phil's team because I think he's really taken all this really hardly.
SPEAKER_02I'm not gonna I I'm not gonna say anything. I mean, Sam Darnold has actually had a really good season. Um Malik Neighbors, I'm gonna say he's a top five. He had a solid pickup there. Malik Neighbors is a top five, not in just fantasy. I'm saying he's a top five wide receiver in the NFL right now. We we we dragged him. We gave him a lot of flag, too. I mean I'm saying good on Phil. We we thought that was high. His killer is he's would you take Malik Neighbors over Marvin Harrison? Absolutely. If you watch, if you watch him, number one, they scheme that entire offense around Malik Neighbors. Number one, and number two, he's just a dynamic player. Marvin Harrison's a big fast guy, but neighbors absolutely like just dynamic on the field. I mean where where did neighbors go in the uh in the draft? Second in the NFL draft? No, in the CCPL. Second, second round round.
SPEAKER_03Week week two, Arch Manning for Texas ran a faster top speed time than Marvin Harrison Jr. Interesting. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Um yeah, and I think like Brian Robinson on Phil's team, I think is a solid pickup. Obviously, Laporta, you would think at some point comes around. The big thing for him is two is out, so that brings Tyreek Hills.
SPEAKER_04Well, yeah, it just it just killed Tyreek Hills.
SPEAKER_03That's the bigger thing, right? Look, I I think uh Tyler, it's Tyler Huntley, right? And he's gonna start this coming week. I think that's going to be much better. It's gonna help them out. But they need to scheme Tyreek more. I mean, get him in motion, give him the receiver, give him the receiver screen, let him do something in the open, run the jet sweep. You just gotta be creative with Hilly so fast.
SPEAKER_02On Abbott's side, 31 points out of Josh Allen. Yeah, it's such a phenomenal game. They dispatched the Jaguars. You know, I found that guy. So I always thought I discovered Josh Allen. He really did. I always thought Josh Allen was good, but he's now an elite. I mean, he is absolutely an all-time kind of elite. Putting his name in there is an all-time elite quarterback in the league, just because he now has like no weapons on that team. Like they've got another one. It's just a bunch of guys.
SPEAKER_04In the league, or just you mean fantasy portions?
SPEAKER_02In the league. They have an okay tight end, they have an okay running back. James Cook is a he's above average. He's he's pretty good. He's not top 10 running back. He's got some pretty good stocks. He's a top 10 running back, but he has no wide receivers to throw the ball to. I don't know if I believe that. Who does he have to throw the fucking ball to? Yeah, I agree with Miles on that. I disagree on the James Cook comment. But that's what I'm saying.
SPEAKER_04It's like he's still able to, and it wasn't like he was getting they they kept Coleman out because he's getting punished because he came up what he came late to meety.
SPEAKER_03What do we think is gonna happen here with T. Higgins over the course of the year? Um, it was weird in that game against the Redskins. This is what I think. I think all it does is benefit Jamar Chase. Yeah at this time. That's what I was gonna say because that's what we saw last night. It's clearly last night or my nine.
SPEAKER_04You know what I've more question? Is Jamar Chase really as good as what everyone thinks he is? I have had that question too. Because it's clearly if if T. Higgins is in, it there's a dramatic difference.
SPEAKER_02No, I mean T. Higgins was in last week, and Chase had a fucking awesome week. Beat my ass.
SPEAKER_04No, but that's my point. The weeks before he was not in and Jamar Chase did not do well.
SPEAKER_02True, like because he was getting doubled. Right. Exactly. Okay, that's that's so like is he elite or is it just like T you need somebody like T in there? I think Chase had a huge rookie season, and everyone was like, ah, and they just anointed him, right? Where I think he is a little bit maybe overrated. But um, Drake London has a good game, 15 points. Um Nico had 10 for him, which we'll talk about here in a bit. Uh Stephon Diggs had almost 15. Um DeAndre Swift was a just looks awful. Like he looks really bad. You see their scheming up Rashawn She got on this coming week. I did see that.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. We'll see if that actually does anything.
SPEAKER_02Uh Brain moves to one and two there. Uh team Beamer sitting at 3-0. Wow. Just the nastiest 3-0 team I've ever seen. Beats Scotty. Scotty is 2-1. Uh, he beat him 87 to 79. Low scoring affair. Maxwell sent a little uh update to us. Beamer has yet to break 90, I believe. Definitely yet to break 100, and he's sent a 3-0. He's like the Braden team of old. Yeah. Yep. 76, 98, 87. Okay. So yet to break 100, three wins. Uh Jameer Gibbs, 16 points. He's just super consistent. Uh Mahomes, 16. Dalton Kincaid, 11 points. Like, that's huge in our league. You can get double digits out of your tight end. Um Khalil Shakir, again, we'll we'll talk about like he looks six for six. He looks really startable in this league. Yeah. So uh beat Scotty. Scotty's now two-and-one. Um Jalen Hurts only had 10 points. Derrick Henry still unreal, 30 points. Ageless. Yeah. Chris Godwin, 14. Travis Etienne 10.
SPEAKER_03Nothing out of Smith and then Jigba this week.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_03I think that's going to be a really hard.
SPEAKER_04It's almost like a uh shoot.
SPEAKER_02It's going to be a hit or miss matchup.
SPEAKER_04From New Orleans. God damn it. Shahe. Shahe.
SPEAKER_02Shaheed. They're different players, but yeah, I think with Yeah, it's going to be tough for because there's just there's three options in that offense. It's like you with Tank Dell. Yeah. There's three or four options before you even get to him. Not that he's not a great player.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_02So. Um we can go to my matchup. Let's do mine. Okay. Top of the board. 109 to 110. You lost basically by one a little over one point.
SPEAKER_03This was tough. Um, this was tough. Eckler goes out uh early third quarter after breaking off a 66-yard kickoff return. Gets a handoff in the red zone. Came down big time to that Monday night.
SPEAKER_04I was this was the only match I was just watching constantly to see in.
SPEAKER_02Jaden Daniels is now the number two fantasy quarterback on the season. He had 28 points in this. Jaden Daniels was incredible. Really was. I mean, believe it. What an absolutely great pick by Cameron. Eighth round. Jaden Daniels has scored 28, 13, 28. Brees Hall for him gets 16. Do you worry? He also has Brees Hall's backup, who has like really, really good. I mean, does this this obviously brings down Brees Hall's still gonna be great, but does it this definitely brings down his top end, right? I think so because they have to mix in Braylon Allen because he's playing so well. I mean, if Braylon Allen's not there, Brees Hall scores 24 instead of 16 this week. Yeah, you know, and that's big. I think I'm more curious how do you feel about Josh Jacobs?
SPEAKER_03So this is this is my theory. He got so many touches against the Colts. Got so many touches before that. I think that this was a honestly a little bit of a load management situation.
SPEAKER_02They were up on the Titans big.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, so I'm not worried about it all. I mean, he's he's still running very efficiently. Not obviously a great week for him, but I'm I'm not concerned and we'll continue to ride that horse. Aaron Jones, Ageless Wander. He's playing really well. 23 points. He almost left the team uh on Monday afternoon.
SPEAKER_02We can talk about that. Uh Brock Bowers had five, but I mean, he's gonna be people are he's basically a number of things.
SPEAKER_04I would say if you're putting up five as a tight end, that's good.
SPEAKER_02Well you look at these you look at these projections, and they now have like basically Brock Bowers and uh the Arizona tight end is like top top two guys. Yeah, just crazy. We haven't seen Travis Kelsey and like Kittle and Andrews not at those top three forever.
SPEAKER_03Alright. So Miles. What a heartbreaking loss for you. Absolutely. And I feel and I feel like, you know, Anthony Richardson played a big role in probably your loss, right? This is uh we play your jam for you to talk about your matchup.
SPEAKER_02This kid's this kid is retarded, right? Like he's actually retarded. Please. Jesus Christ, this kid's bad. I mean, I'm just gonna keep going. You know, I was if if anyone wants to um send any comments in some tune. Miles Hodge care of Shine ABA.
SPEAKER_03I have to admit, um I DM'd this kid to try to get him on the podcast tonight.
SPEAKER_02Did he reply? He didn't. I fucking hate this kid. This kid is exactly what's wrong with the Colts. He's never gonna be on the pod now. Winner los, we love Oh fucking. Can I just share? Here is the winner.
SPEAKER_04I mean, I'm not gonna lie, if I didn't know if I didn't know, I would have thought it was Jim Mersey.
SPEAKER_02Okay. Here's the thing that here's the if if I may have a moment of privilege on this. Alright. That pissed me. So Miles, let's go over the same. Let's go over the lyrics real quick, Miles. No, absolutely not. Okay, so my matchup. Do you blew blue, Miles? Absolutely not. I don't even feel anything when I watch Colts games anymore. That's that's what Chris Ballard has done to this team. Um, I lose basically by less than two points. Um, so just to clarify night. Anthony Richardson of the Colts would have scored a like eight points. Eight points. Just literally not thrown that interception in the end zone. You would have won this week. Yeah, so when he or if I got literally I got one point out of my kicker, if he would have hit a field goal. Um, or if Mark Andrews would have been on the field.
SPEAKER_04I still go back to my question from last week. When are you gonna do Baker? When are you gonna do Baker?
SPEAKER_03As soon as he puts a pineapple t-shirt on. How infuriating is the Mark Andrews situation for you?
SPEAKER_02Uh very the Ravens really piss me off.
SPEAKER_03Like, are you considering playing a different tight end?
SPEAKER_02John Harbaugh really makes me mad, and this is obviously why he hasn't won another Super Bowl, because like they're just they make no sense with some of their decision making. Um but good on Owen, obviously he had an insanely good matchup with um Joe Burrow and Jamar Chase playing uh the Washington Commanders. They're a terrible, terrible defense, especially the defending wide receivers. Um what did it in is in the fourth quarter with like six minutes left, maybe. Um Joe Burrow throws a touchdown to Jamar Chase like a 30-yarder, it was worth like 15, 18 points, and he goes ahead and make it big game out of receiver. Yeah, why doesn't someone other than Miles talk for about 20 seconds and I can fix this problem?
SPEAKER_04Okay. Is Miles the last one?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, this is this is the last catch. So the stack of of Burrow and Chase on my night football is what it came down to. And like I thought Miles was safe, and then they come out. Jamar Chase gets the first touchdown of the night on a bomb from Burrow just walked into the end zone. And then they they come back later, and he catches another touchdown pass later in the game. Only seven targets. Of those seven tour touchdowns gets over a hundred yards. Um I don't know. I mean the interesting thing is Owen's team, I guess. In my opinion, I mean G Garrett Wilson hasn't done anything. Yeah, like Aaron Rodgers does not like him.
SPEAKER_04Or something. Alan Lozard time. Yeah. He he just goes back to his OGs, you know?
SPEAKER_03Well, if you trust a guy, that's you know I you know, is is is is Travis Kelsey like washed at this point? I don't know.
SPEAKER_02He doesn't he doesn't you know Mark Andrews at least has a car accident as a reason. So here's the thing, like Mark Andrews like hasn't been on the field, right? Like against the Kansas City Against Kansas City, um Andrews was doubled like the entire game. And then against um Dallas, they just didn't they ran the ball the entire game, so he wasn't in as they're like blocking tight end. But with Kelsey, Kelsey's on the field. I mean Kelsey's in for eighty, ninety percent of his acts, and he just looked bad out there. Like he's getting some targets.
SPEAKER_03What was interesting too is there were probably three or four times where he was open in the middle of the field and Mahomes didn't throw to him.
SPEAKER_02Interesting. What's going on there?
SPEAKER_03I think it's the presidential election.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. I mean again. They were they were at the weren't they at the like the or something like that? Um wait, how does Diddy and Kelsey have anything to do? Taylor Swift was at those parties. You want to know, Kai, you want to go down a rabbit hole? Yeah, she had a freaking. Let's get Elmond Alex Jones on the line. Of course I play Zach the week he doesn't put up uh 61 or uh 55 points. I play him in the week. Yeah. So we we made the kind of loss that will keep you out of the playoffs for me.
SPEAKER_03Thanks, Miles. Those are the week three matchups. Let's go to um my power rankings. Yeah. Give me those tunes, Tim. Yeah. Alright, week week three power rankings. Here we go. Coming in at 14. We do have a change here, guys.
SPEAKER_04Okay, buddy.
SPEAKER_03Any predictions here? What do you think it is, Kyle? Phil. It's Phil. Phil. Shout out Phil. He's coming in at 14 this week. He was 13 last week. Still holes to fill. Dropping one spot from last week into the 13 hole is right to bear arms. Very good. I think that makes a lot of sense. 12 to 13. Moving up to 12 is who we just talked about, who beat MAGA this past week. Zach Owen comes in at 12. Do you think he's able to continue scoring around 100 or is this a fluke week? I think he's a I think he's an 85-point team most of the time. Coming in at 11, no change here. This is subpar. Subpar still holding down the number 11 spot. You might say his season is subpar. Subpar. Yeah. Below average. Yeah. At 10, uh, moving down a spot is yours truly. Comartis kids.
SPEAKER_02So here's the deal. You're sitting at 1-2, but on the season, I mean, in your two losses, you scored 121 and 109.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. I mean you've just gotten bad hands. Still. The computer algorithm I use moved me down a spot. So I'm at 10. Coming in at 9, moving up a spot is Braden. Okay, Braden. 0.6. Brayden's at 9.
SPEAKER_02Does this factor in the trade that him and I did, or no?
SPEAKER_03No, it really doesn't. Okay. This is about results. I mean, look, your roster construction, you know, I look at it a little bit, but this is not factored on the trade.
SPEAKER_04At this point in the season.
SPEAKER_03No. Coming in at nine, moving up is Brayden. At eight, no change, MAGA. MAGA's still at eight. Yeah. I mean, I I still generally like this roster. And frankly, I do like it more after the move, which we'll talk about here in a minute. So you're at eight. At seven, again, no change. The commissioner sits in the seven hole right now. No change. No change. And I'll tell you, it got hard right here to really kind of bifurcate some of these teams. 119 and no change. No change. Tough. Here is a this is what's gonna rock the CCPL podcast world with this right here. Yeah, everyone should sit down. From one to six.
SPEAKER_00Wow.
SPEAKER_03Big data.
SPEAKER_00Wow. Big data.
SPEAKER_02That's a free fall. It's a big drop. I mean, I think he's getting Kenneth Walker back, but like we said, he did he has some issues at wide receiver now. I mean, maybe big data could uh could report back. Is that the largest one-week drop in the power rank?
SPEAKER_03Not ever. I don't think ever. I mean, I've I've had some swings in these, but that I mean that's pretty significant. Okay. Coming in at five, uh, moving up one spot from last week is IUI Doc. Okay. Moving up a spot to the four-hole, the three-o team beamer. This is the this is the lowest ranked three-o team. Yep. Uh he's in the four-hole. At three, moving up one spot, is the SCLSU muddogs. He's gotta be happy with that. No change at two. Lace is out. Scotty Allen's still kidding. Even after a loss, wow.
SPEAKER_02I mean, look, he he has 270 points on the year, which is the one, two, three. He should be more mic. He's like the fifth from the bottom in terms of total points.
SPEAKER_04So Scott should flip.
SPEAKER_03Look, uh uh according according to the rankings in Sleeper, he's the seventh team. In my rankings, he's the second. He lost to a bad three and oh team by eight points. It's a bad loss. Yeah. But Beamer is three-0 in the fourth ranked team in the power rankings, so you gotta wait that out accordingly. So Scotty's at two in the power rankings, and at number one, moving up from three, wow, is Jake from State Farm. Has Jake ever been number one in the power ranking? There's no way. There's no way. No. Congratulations, Jake. Congratulations to the victory left. You saw him today. I did. He uh he was in the office for a meeting.
SPEAKER_02He's unrelated to me. He's he's pretty high, but I gotta tell you his repeating. He's just showing up in your office for meetings, and you're aren't invited to those meetings. I've got other stuff going on. Yeah, this is really important.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. So, but you know, Jake's putting it all into perspective. He said, honestly, I think this is probably where the the leveling out starts to begin. Which historically, for anyone, I mean, rarely do teams go on more than five game winning streaks in this league now. We, you know, uh several years back, some team Scotty Allen had a long win streak. Phil had a long one last year.
SPEAKER_04I think Braden had one last year.
SPEAKER_03How how long was it? Do you remember? I don't I don't know. It was quite a long time. Maybe six.
SPEAKER_02I don't know.
SPEAKER_03But it's hard to do. And so I think Jake's got right perspective, but I I he's got a strong roster, and he's three and oh. So there's no way you can't put him at the top of these power rankings. So Jake's at number one for week three. Those are the power rankings for the CCPL this week. I agree with most of it. I know you guys hate this guy, the Scotty move.
SPEAKER_04Well, no, I I thought I honestly thought I would have moved up a little higher. I'm surprised I did not move it. Not like that I care that much.
SPEAKER_02I think just Brain and I's trade should have impacted the power rankings. No, that I don't I don't agree with that. What do you think of our trade? So I traded David Mm-hmm. So we're just jumping into the trades that we're doing okay. So I pre-traded David Montgomery and Brian Thomas for Nico Collins.
SPEAKER_04Is there some sort of like special club for people who have they're you know part of a pineapple? Pineapple club part of a league in Carroll County. Yeah. The Carroll County what what what's it called now? Uh Carroll County Country Club. Country Club? Yeah, we've forgotten. Do you guys get like a special? Like, do you guys have a special?
SPEAKER_02I'll go fact check the country club. No, I mean Abbott, I'm pretty sure Abbott has been talking to most of the league about trying to get a running back. He has been talking to me.
SPEAKER_04Has he? Because I have the most startable, and I've never got so issues.
SPEAKER_03I think his words were that Kyle's unreasonable to deal with.
SPEAKER_02So here's the Oh, I've got a rant on that one. He loves David Montgomery. He calls him 40-20. He he he looks at him like a John Deere tractor, like just chugging along. That's why he calls him 40-20. Okay, I get it. So I get it. And I draw it. He was, I think Brain picked maybe the spot after me, and I picked David Montgomery right in front of him. So he has been hounding me for David Montgomery. I offered him Montgomery for Pittman before week one. And he didn't take it. And he got nervous.
SPEAKER_03Before week one.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, because he traded for Pittman before week one. And basically as soon as he got Pittman, I offered him David Montgomery.
SPEAKER_04I mean, I think it was a fair trade. I think it didn't.
SPEAKER_03I think the long the long-term value on Brian Thomas is helps. I mean he looks he still looks really good. I don't believe Nico's regressing though. I mean, he's probably a top five receiver year long.
SPEAKER_04So far, David Montgomery and Nico are pretty fair. So like they're they're right there. Here's the thing. Is it gonna last that long?
SPEAKER_03So obviously David Montgomery I had him last year. I really like him. He's so efficient, but but with that efficiency comes the weird question mark in your head. They've got Jameer Gibbs, they use them differently, but you're still basically in a in a 50-50 share pretty much.
SPEAKER_02And Montgomery has to have like these dirty, he does all the dirty work. Um and he gotta let him get payload. He has to get a touchdown where Gibbs doesn't have to get a touchdown to score points. Right. It's it seems like the Lions use him situationally. I think a lot about the week two game. Was it week one when they just put him in in overtime and just hammered and just hammered the ball down the field and scored.
SPEAKER_03Because the Lions are better, they're constantly in games in com in competitive or have a lead, so they have the advantage of running that ball more, which is Dave Montgomery's sweet spot. Rarely are they down by two, three scores where they're passing more out of the backfield, and that's Jim what Jameer Gibbs does.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, so I I think it helped I I think it serviced some of the problem of Braden's team, but at the same time it kind of hurts him too, because the the other wide receivers that he has while I I I agree with him, like you can't have it's a struggle to have Diggs and Nico on the same team. But the problem is is he he's gonna be fight or flight. Right? So some weeks it's probably gonna be really good. In some weeks it's it's gonna be like Rashid Rashad, right? Like with T all these Pittman's just like we don't really know like that's what I'm saying. I just I just outside of Drake, it's a lot of these are like 50-50 times lit.
SPEAKER_02Ultimately with Braden, he is deep at wide receiver. So he wanted to move. I want to do a two for one because I was decently deep. And I think it works. I think it's a a reasonably fair trade.
SPEAKER_03I think, but yeah, whenever we make a two for one, I think your team obviously the guys way stronger. And I'm not digging the the transaction, I'm saying your team now looks like an all-star team.
SPEAKER_02If Jordan Mason stays healthy. Well, if these wide receivers stay healthy, I theoretically. Theoretically have four wide receiver ones.
SPEAKER_04But if if if and this is like it's it's you know it's a war of attrition. It's good now. Which Kendall is losing. Yes. He's losing right now. Can't it last long enough?
SPEAKER_02CMC probably out for the season, maybe, but if he's not, no, he's gonna do stuff in Germany, he's gonna be back. If not, we can't.
SPEAKER_04Okay, so if not, he's he's back, you're gonna be in trouble in running back.
SPEAKER_03He's probably a guy who needs a year off, though. It's like Peyton Manning. Um waiver wire this this past week from yesterday.
SPEAKER_02I think it continues. What is with the spending this year? The spending is wild. No one we have never had this much money spent on like this early in the league.
SPEAKER_03I think it's correlated to injuries.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_03And also, look, we're not seeing as much offense this year, and people are trying to figure out give me something. Yeah, where where is the hidden gem?
SPEAKER_02So Roshan miss on it. Roshan goes to Beamer making a big move. 29. Kudos to Beamer. Next highest bid was Kindle.
SPEAKER_04I'm surprised Kindle, did we even talk about like I'm surprised Kendall didn't just go hard? Go hard last week against uh is that Steele? Carson Steele.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Well he had Peter. Um Kyle, you got Xavier Leggett. I think that's a good pick. I actually think that was a good pick. Yeah, I do. Um what? First round wide receiver pick. Um and now Thielen is Thielen's out.
SPEAKER_04We'll see what he's got.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Um you got the red rocket. Yeah, you got him. You got him for 11. Um, Noah Fance also goes to Phil for 10. Nobody else bet on him. Um Daniel Jones got some other stuff, just other kind of random shots.
SPEAKER_03Are you guys ready to move into week four matchups?
SPEAKER_02Alright. Let's talk about um before that, let's talk about our standings on the year. Okay.
SPEAKER_04I thought that's what the I thought what the just the guy power rankings is for. No, no, no. It's week three. Are we really talking standings?
SPEAKER_02From our pin. Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_03Put the music back on.
SPEAKER_02Uh, where's that where's that text from Maxwell? Anybody got it? Yeah, I got it. So thanks, Maxwell. Maxwell's been tracking our results on a weekly basis.
SPEAKER_04There's no one submitting anything.
SPEAKER_02And I got it here. Here it is. Alright, so uh everyone has it at the same time. Yeah. Uh I'll who who's gonna read the results? You. Alright. Uh after week four, uh, I'm sorry, week three. Um, so for the week, in the lead Miles, Miles picked five correctly. Second place, myself, four correctly, Commissioner Kyle, and some fellow Quincy uh bring up the rear at three picks correctly. So you both picked the exact same people last week. Oh, wow, that's made the same picks. Okay, so for the season, uh uh Miles is in the lead, 14, um Kyle is in second place, 13, Quincy's in third with 12, and I am in last place with 11 points.
SPEAKER_03So we discussed this on the first podcast of the year about writing down your picks before we discuss them. So to not play off of one another. I have now done this for last week and this week. They're sitting here in front of me, right here on my notepad.
SPEAKER_02I did it last week. I didn't do it. I usually go first, so I'll just go first. Okay. I definitely did not write down my picks, but I'm just gonna try to make it work. Alright, first uh uh right to bare arms versus Titty 6.0.
SPEAKER_03We might all have the same pick here. Hmm. So you've got you know Rashad White struggling right now, obviously, tons of injuries on Kendall's team. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Titty's gonna be a little bit more. Still a tough roster. Titty's gonna win this. Obviously, Josh Allen is huge. Now that he has David Montgomery, he's got a running back. Uh his wide receiver still looks solid. You know, yeah, timing of this all can work out well for him. Diggs, Higgins.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, so he makes this move. He gets now uh a healthy T. Diggins who's back playing football, assuming George Kittle is back after he missed last week. So the roster's kind of potentially at full strength uh for him. You know, what's gonna be wild for him is if if he actually does get a real Nick Chubb back later in the season.
SPEAKER_04He's gonna start practice next week, right?
SPEAKER_03Yeah. So I'm picking Braden this week, too. Kyle, who you got? 0.6.
SPEAKER_02If there was any doubt, as the only fan of 0.6. Give me 0.6. We have a consensus quake. Uh we get a sound effect for that next week. Thanks. Yeah. Next up, Big Data versus Chasen TDs. Big Data's gonna win this one. I think Chasen TDs had a very good last week because he had some good matchups and some random touchdowns. Um, but I'm gonna go with Cody here. Uh I think Achain gets back on track. I think Pollard has a better week. Kyler Murray is going to light up the commanders.
SPEAKER_03I'm gonna go with Cody. That's a bad defense. I've got Cody also, you know. Zach got a got a win last week. We can no longer say 0-3 or 0-2. I'm sorry for that. So, yeah, I've got I've got big data. You know, to your concerns about Waddle, McBride might be out. I think this could potentially be competitive, but you know, currently Zach has Naylor in the starting lineup in his in his first flex spot.
SPEAKER_02Naylor has had a touchdown like every single week. Yeah. Shut up, Michigan State.
SPEAKER_03But Addison has been out, and Addison practiced today. True. So you could get a hit on Naylor. So I'm going with Big Data.
SPEAKER_04I think if he puts Mooney in instead of Naylor, I'm gonna go Zach.
SPEAKER_03I think he's got it. Is that what you had pre-picked? Kyle? You're liar.
SPEAKER_04Okay. Hey, last week I sent him out.
SPEAKER_02I was the first one to send him out. Gimme Owen. Whoa. Okay. Uh next up, Subpar versus SCLSU muddogs. I still want to know what he wanted to change his team name to. Did he tell you? No, he didn't. That's interesting. It was just the conversation about whether he was allowed to do it or not. Pete is 0-3. Maxwell is 2-1.
SPEAKER_03Are we getting in a must-win territory for Pete? Very, very soon, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Um I'll give it to Pete. It's a must-win.
SPEAKER_03Look, this mix-in situation's not ideal, and it's really hard to trust the Mud Dogs team without that strong running back. I mean, Kyron Williams has been phenomenal. No one's eating into his share of the of the ball, but I just I've been down on Pete's team since draft, and I'm gonna stick with that. So I'm picking the Mud Dogs to win in week four.
SPEAKER_05Okay.
SPEAKER_04Tim, go ahead.
SPEAKER_02I refuse to believe that Subpar will start the season 0-4. I'm going with Pete.
SPEAKER_03What do you think Pete, how does he look at his kids and tell him that this big champion and top-tier team of the CCPL starts 0-4? Is it just a like a wash here?
SPEAKER_02Do you just uh I'm I'm picking Pete purely on resume right now. This is like uh, you know, this is like one of the blue chip teams getting a rank early in the season. Yeah, it's it's pride at this point. Give me the muddogs. Okay. Next up, we've got uh fillin' holes versus team beamer. 0-3 versus 3-0. Phil gets his first win this week.
SPEAKER_04Oh, calling it out.
SPEAKER_02Calling the shot.
SPEAKER_03Didn't even hesitate. Nope. Just went for it. You think Malik Neighbors is gonna carry the day for him?
SPEAKER_02Malik Neighbors is gonna continue to eat. I think Tyreek Hill is going to bounce back when they have Huntley in there. I think he's a capable quarterback. And Phil doesn't have a bad team. I mean, Brian Robinson's solid. Stevenson had a really bad week last week. Um, and Sam Darnold has been pretty good.
SPEAKER_03I've got to disagree with you on this one. I think I think Team Beamer. I think this team has a really big week. I think Devontae Adams puts up his maybe his best week of the year. I'm going with Team Beamer to win this thing. You know, and Laporta may not play. So give me Team Beamer. Beamer. No questions.
SPEAKER_02I think I took subpar purely on resume in our last pick. I will pick fillin' holes because purely on resume, I don't see Corbin going for now. Wow. Uh Jake from State Farm, 3-0 versus Kyle, 2-1. I think this is the matchup of the week. Matchup? I think so too. Could be. Could be. Um Saquon Barkley's been great this year. Dak Prescott is playing the Giants very solid. James Connor is playing Washington. He's going to eat. But Kyle, you got a really good team. Both do.
SPEAKER_03I'm going to give it to Kyle. I've got Jake this week. I think that uh I think with Andy Dalton playing quarterback, it's helped Hubbard out clearly. He had a big week three. Yeah. Connor is playing really well. Ridley's been hot and cold. I like DJ Moore's matchup this week. You know, I think Kamara's fine. I don't think he's actually hurt. It's probably just a maintenance thing that he didn't practice today. Um, but again, you know, Jake Ferguson's been a little bit of a target for Prescott. You get a little bit of a washout there. Um so I'm gonna I'm picking Jake.
SPEAKER_04I think going into the best team in the league, you gotta pick yourself.
SPEAKER_05Okay.
SPEAKER_02Give me Jake. Jake. Um MAGA, my matchup with Cameron. I am one and two. Cameron is two and one. Anthony Richardson plays Pittsburgh. He could totally be terrible. Cameron.
SPEAKER_04You are sticking with him? Cameron. It's official on this podcast. You're not gonna change. Cameron wins. You're not gonna change. These colors don't run.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_03But you don't bleed blue. I don't bleed retard either. I'm uh against some of your comments to shine your.
SPEAKER_04You can't cancel us!
SPEAKER_02Yeah, you hammer, you find that niche and you hammer it.
SPEAKER_03I'm uh I'm picking MAGA this week. I just I've got this this feeling. And I need someone to get vengeance on Cameron for uh uh for that tough loss.
SPEAKER_04I uh I I thought you were gonna get him last week.
SPEAKER_03So I'm I'm picking MAGA. No, watch my kicker score zero.
SPEAKER_04Well maybe you wouldn't drop them so much.
SPEAKER_02It doesn't matter. They're so random. It doesn't matter. Give me MAGA this week. All right.
SPEAKER_04It's fine. What no, it's good. Okay. Uh I'm gonna go with MAGA.
SPEAKER_02I wanna hear what Tim has to say. They say what I forget exactly what the lyrics are, but something about we bleed blue. And then what's the next set of lyrics? When or winter lose, we love you. Yeah. Oh, that right. All right. That's my problem. We bleed blue, right? Right. And then we love them. Why wouldn't they say whether, win, or lose, we love you? It rhymes with blue. Oh, yeah. Because he's retarded. I think every time I hear the song, it drives me nuts.
SPEAKER_04Are you just envious because he got to visit, he got a visit from the culture?
SPEAKER_03I bet they're still in his basement, man.
SPEAKER_02You definitely murdered him. He's never coming on the podcast. Oh my god. There's an amber alert out for those guys right now. Cromartie's kids versus Lace is out. You have had very high praise for Scotty Allen in the power rankings, but you are one and two, and you've scored over a hundred points, I think every single week. I'm going with you. You have a really good team. You just don't have the record to show for it.
SPEAKER_03I appreciate that. You know, I I told everyone on the podcast at the beginning of the year I would pick myself every week. I'm gonna stick with that. Here's the thing. Austin Eckler has already been ruled out. They ruled him out today. That's that's pretty quick. Um, but from my experience as a Carroll County kid, we take head injuries very seriously. You know, from um seriously, you know, from from Kendall's experiences, good friend of whose Jamie Trevor. Former mayor, former deputy prosecutor, incoming judge Shane Evans. We've seen with him. So we just we take concussions very seriously on Cromartie's kids. We're glad that Austin's been ruled out, and uh, we'll move forward and hopefully he gets healthy and comes back on the team really soon. But uh Cromartie's Kids is gonna beat Scotty Allen this week. I believe it.
SPEAKER_02I already picked already pick Quincy. Scotty. Gimme Cromartie's Kids.
SPEAKER_04We had quite a few mixes. I think we only had one that we were all concisive on this year. Concisive this week. Consensus. Consensus.
SPEAKER_02I love your use of the English language. Quincy, your team's interesting. I mean, you've put up big points all season, uh, one and two. You don't have cup right now, but once you get him back, like this team looks really good. If McLaurin and uh Jaden Daniels get on the same page, I mean Lamar Jackson, Josh Jacobs, Zay Flowers gets super targeted. Brock Bowers ascended to a top three tight end now. Aaron Jones has looked good. If you get Cooper Cup back, like that is a really good team.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I mean, I'm worried about bye weeks. I'm worried about, I mean, I feel like one injury to the starting lineup throws it off really quickly because I've got no depth. No depth. So, I mean, maybe someone on my bench. What do you think about Romeo Dobbs?
SPEAKER_02You think Love's gonna play this week?
SPEAKER_03I do. I think Dub's gonna be good. Yeah, I think Dobbs is gonna get targets from Love. It's really my only option, anyway, so you gotta be optimistic.
SPEAKER_02So we've been through the picks. I think Commissioner Kyle, you were looking for just kind of a point of privilege. You just wanted to rant. You just wanted to rant. I I I want you to know that we hear you and you have the floor.
SPEAKER_04I thought it would be fun to mix it up a little bit, and we do a rant or rave this week. But since I'm commissioner, I get both. Okay. So my rant this week is you know who you are. Stop sending me shitty traits. Oh. That's not me. We want to. It's not me this time. It's not me. That's what's disappointing. Oh. I'm just no, I'm I'm disappointed that that it's these other people that I've held to higher standards and they keep sending me shitty traits.
SPEAKER_03I think you can't just leave it.
SPEAKER_04Just try to troll me a little bit.
SPEAKER_03All right. I get it. Do you think the fact that you act out like this is why you receive them?
SPEAKER_04I get it. No, I get it. But I'm just saying stop sending them. I'm I'm gonna start responding to it. Sorry, we're having CCPL blind items now. This is good. But my rave for the week, which I'm most proud of, I'm gonna get a little sentimental. My son Bo is an asshole at times. And the other morning I could not get Bo downstairs to do breakfast and whatever. And I just basically gave up and I said, Brecklin, you take care of it. By God, if she didn't, she got that little asshole downstairs. So shout out to Brecklin.
SPEAKER_00Let the boy watch. He needs to learn the way I learned.
SPEAKER_02Does Brecklin look the podcast? Dude, how did you have that on the main?
SPEAKER_04We didn't even discuss that. We've used that a few times. So Brecklin, shout out to you. You uh you have the biggest heart, love you. Keep taking care of that boy. The kids listen to the podcast. Because I can't do shit to him.
SPEAKER_03Well, so I went anymore. Not anymore. I went to pick up Kyle from the house and um he he said bye to the kids and he said, I gotta go do the podcast. Like he talks about to the to them about the podcast all the time, which I love.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_02We're gonna have to uh put a rating on this one, I think. Yeah. All right.
SPEAKER_03Q, do you got a uh do you got any rants or raves this week? I really don't. Look, it's week three. I I could, you know, I could be upset about my close loss, but this is this is just the way it works. And I'm just I'm look, I'm trying to disconnect, still be involved in care, but balance myself in the season-long turmoil that is the C CPL. Yeah, you told me you turned off the notifications. I did. I I do not get alerts when a big plays happen for my team. Wow. And I try not to look at my score during the week during the one o'clock games. Wow, and and how's that been going for you? I still, you know, I take a peek.
SPEAKER_02So you're watching anyways.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Okay. My rant is the offenses in this league have been really historically awful. I mean, touchdowns are not happening. We've already talked about the tight end position. It has been terrible this year, but it's because tight ends were historically just reliant on touchdowns. You know, if you're tight end caught like a random touchdown, you had a good week. If he didn't, you had a terrible week. So there's that. Kickers. I mean, fucking, come on. We had like I had one point. I think somebody else had negative one point out of their kicker this week. Who created that? No, but it's like You wanted to do half like whatever the three points. These kickers, and then you've got like I have converted, by the way.
SPEAKER_03I want to eliminate kickers. You've got to now you want to go just push cans.
SPEAKER_02You've got Aubrey for Dallas, who's like, if you were to put him on the rank, he's like, if he were a running back in terms of total points, he'd be like running back five on the season, just as a kicker.
SPEAKER_04I don't understand why if we're gonna eliminate kickers, why are we even keeping half point defenses? Well, no one has a problem with defenses.
SPEAKER_02But I defenses are fine. I think it's pointless. So that's my rant. My rave. Um I don't know. Do I have anything to rave about?
SPEAKER_04You I mean, you don't have to. Technically, usually you either take one or the other.
SPEAKER_02My rave is we've done all podcasts this year live. I think that's great. And I think we should keep it. Together. And I think we should be able to do that. You weren't here last week, Commissioner Kyle.
SPEAKER_04Sorry. Everyone has participated.
SPEAKER_02But we've had in studio podcasts, and I love that, and we need to keep it up.
SPEAKER_03That's nice. Kyle, if if you want me to just be completely honest with you, Jake was at the Bozo McKinney Evans office today to draft up papers uh to vacate the chair of commissioner. Yeah. He's gonna make he's gonna make a motion uh this week.
SPEAKER_04I I don't believe that. I think me and Jake have a very good relationship.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_02I will give my rave. Now we're we are recording this podcast Wednesday evening. And just now, your Detroit Tigers won again. Okay. Just beat the Tampa Bay Rays 7-1. Now, that means that over the last several games, the Tigers are absolutely dominating Major League Baseball. We are going into the playoffs with a freight train full of momentum, and this is just fantastic.
SPEAKER_03Do you think we could find some time to watch some playoff baseball this?
SPEAKER_02I think that would be fantastic. I, you know, the Tigers, I've loved the Tigers my whole life. This is I know this is a fantasy podcast, but this is when we can talk about anything.
SPEAKER_04I love it. Yeah, this is when you talk about anything. I was disappointed that the guys didn't go outside of fantasy, so I love this.
SPEAKER_02I I think this is just exciting. This will be this if we made the playoffs, this would be our first appearance since 2014. Yep. That's a long time. And those were the teams that we were exceptional. Like when we guys spent a lot of money on those teams. Yes, we did. We had Justin Verlander, may have heard of him. Max Scherzer, may have heard of him, David Price, may have heard of him. Miguel Cabrera. Was Rick Persello on those teams? Rick Percello was on those teams. What? That was a dream team that we never like, they never put it all together. What this is reminding me a lot is the 2006 team, which had a rookie Justin Verlander, and it kind of came out of nowhere. And this is maybe some of the people on this pod are White Sox fans. White Sox fans, I think White Sox lost against. Pizza White Sox fan. Okay. So 2003. Yeah, 2000. Yeah, they probably lost. Yep. 2003, Tigers nearly set, they did set the American League record for losses in a season that will subsequently be eclipsed by this year's White Sox. Yep. But uh, you know, I that was 2003. By 2006, the Tigers won the World Series. And this team kind of reminds me of that because it was like kind of out of nowhere. So and these guys just picked up just this momentum.
SPEAKER_03This is what I would say across all sports. Nothing matters more than clubhouse chemistry.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Yeah. And these guys got it. That is why young teams with some with uh some exceptional talent, they get rolling, they get hot, and that's what makes baseball special. What so what's your rant?
SPEAKER_02I don't have uh like uh I I'm just I'm really excited about the Detroit Tigers right now. Um my fan my fantasy team's doing pretty well this year. I mean, we just won again last past week. We're two and one, third in the league. So Alyssa's Alyssa's three and a. Yeah, and I guess I should mention that. We were we were hoping to have my my very beautiful wife on the pot today. I don't know what happened. I think you guys might have offended her. I brought mums. Yeah. Uh actually, yes.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it's the new pineapple.
SPEAKER_02Hey now. Hey now. That was exactly it.
SPEAKER_03I heard Freak off and he's like So I don't want to kill the mood. I have one final thing that we probably need to talk about.
SPEAKER_04Oh, yeah. Oh wait, is it the oh wait, it's not the same. Maybe it's not the same. I don't know.
SPEAKER_03Let's let him say what it is. So Brett Favre has early onset Parkinson's. Oh, R.I.P.
SPEAKER_04I was talking about that. Oh, yeah. Give me that.
SPEAKER_03Give me that.
SPEAKER_02This is the same thing. So there's two more things to talk about. That has to be due to.
SPEAKER_04You really put a damper on that.
SPEAKER_02That has to be partially due to the head injuries, right? He's gotten his bell rung more than once. Yeah, don't you think? Well, yeah. Maybe. I don't know. Maybe seeing Biden's talking.
SPEAKER_04Why do we have to end it like that?
SPEAKER_02We're not. Quincy's got something to say. I do.
SPEAKER_03So something that we uh we missed at the at the draft, which is part of our official ceremonies. Yep. Is the swearing in of the new commissioner. Wait, so Kyle's not even official yet? Technically. It's been challenged. So I think I think we need to swear him in. Do we have a Bible?
SPEAKER_04I don't know.
SPEAKER_03We've got this pack, we got this pack of cards. Yeah, we've got this pack of the pack of Zen. No, just to be clear. Use my Zen can. There is a Bible in this home.
SPEAKER_05I'll just do all three.
SPEAKER_03Okay, so I got a this is a God-fearing home.
SPEAKER_04And a stack of bicycle cards.
SPEAKER_03Alright, Kyle. So repeat after me. I, Kyle. I, Kyle. Do solemnly swear. Do solemnly swear. That I faithfully execute the commissionership of the Carroll County Premier League.
SPEAKER_04That I faithfully execute the commissionership of the Carroll County Premier League.
SPEAKER_03To the best of my ability, I will preserve, maintain, support, and defend the Constitution of the Carroll County Premier League.
SPEAKER_04To the best of my ability, I will preserve, maintain, support, and defend the Constitution of the Carroll County Premier League.
SPEAKER_03I will uphold the interest of the League beyond my own self-interest, so help me God.
SPEAKER_04I will uphold the interests of the League beyond my own self-interests.
SPEAKER_03So help me God. Congratulations, Commissioner Kyle Shorts.
SPEAKER_00Man, I got a plan, I swear to you. All I think about is you guys. That's all I think about, man. That's all I think about is you guys. And how I set you up for the best possible, the best possible advantage I can give you to have a season. I swear you, man. I just need to trust me. That's me. Please.
SPEAKER_03Put it on the list, all timer.
SPEAKER_04I don't know. It it still never beats the the Kimbergames. That was really good.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, you know, I do have one rant. I haven't been able to figure out what that buzz miles microphone is today. We're gonna get to the bottom of it.
SPEAKER_03We'll get that cleaned up. Technical difficulties. Yeah. Hey, you know, I'll take a lap for it. I think uh I think we cover a lot of ground tonight, guys. That's all we got. It's a fun one. Happy week four.
SPEAKER_04Bye, guys. Bye, everybody. That was a disgraceful performance, in my opinion. We threw that game. We gave it away by doing that. We gave him the friggin' game. In my opinion, that sucked.
