Welcome, welcome, welcome. We are in studio. Producer Tim Miles, Commissioner Kyle, and yours truly, Quincy. It is week six of the CCPL podcast.
SPEAKER_05Today's podcast brought to you by Miller Light. Miller Light, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
SPEAKER_02Glad you got the week right.
SPEAKER_05I was practicing that this afternoon.
SPEAKER_02Didn't want to have a two-timer.
SPEAKER_05You know, he's not the commissioner anymore, so he can't be bothered with such, you know, remedial information.
SPEAKER_03I sit down late Wednesday afternoon, early evening, right after dinner, and uh go through my notebook in preparation for the podcast.
SPEAKER_02Is this is this notebook a specific, like does it say oh, it is. Look at that.
SPEAKER_05From 20. That's oh wow. It's very nice. I should probably take notes. Carol White R E M C.
SPEAKER_04Is yeah, is fantasy football the only thing that's in that notebook, or you got other there might be one random page.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Quincy takes notes because he cares most doodles. There's something about Braun right here. But yes, everything else in here is CCPL related. That's that's it's kind of like sometimes whatever's in my reach, right?
SPEAKER_04Could be interesting to go flip through that, you know, see see what kind of hidden secrets are in there.
SPEAKER_03I've got some like rule ideas.
SPEAKER_05Maybe that's a poll. Let's let's get a poll up there. What do you what do the people think is in Quincy's notebook? Yeah.
SPEAKER_04His burn book. Well, is it like uh on uh draft day where it's like what was his name? Like Shelvin Mac no matter what.
SPEAKER_07Or whatever.
SPEAKER_03Guy's name was Josh Jacobs no matter what. Well, this is from the COVID year. I've got questions before our business meeting. No, I want my picks back. All I want all three years of this team's future back.
SPEAKER_04That's not fair.
SPEAKER_03Well, you want to cry about it, Tom, or you want to make a little magic before the clock runs out on both of you.
SPEAKER_05Motherfucker.
SPEAKER_03Really an underrated movie.
SPEAKER_04Oh yeah. It gets better with time. Because the problem was is I thought we I think when it first came out, we thought it was gonna be really awesome, and it wasn't.
SPEAKER_03Well, actually, I thought it was gonna be a little too Disney-esque. And it it wasn't either.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Based on the line you just quoted. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Are they gonna bring back Yellowstone, by the way, with with Costner? No, with Costner.
SPEAKER_03No, he's done.
SPEAKER_04Yellowstone is back, but it's Costnerless. That sucks. They could have totally killed him off and made it like a good part of the story.
SPEAKER_05What they had was a money machine, yeah. Right? Yeah in in programming and in content, in merch, the whole thing. And then I don't know, they got too greedy, or Taylor Taylor Sheridan got too distracted making fucking Tulsa King in 1872. Yeah, think about that guy and the cash he's made over.
SPEAKER_04Paramount just paid him like billions of dollars. Well, yeah, he just bought a like a six thousand acre ranch. Yeah.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_05The triple six, right? I think four sixes.
SPEAKER_03The four sixes, okay. Yeah.
SPEAKER_05I think I remember sixes. Yikes. Quincy would be the three sixes. Quincy's ranch would be the three sixes. Three sevens is what Quincy would be. Yeah. No, no, no. It's it's the let it ride. The three sevens ranch in Carroll County, Indiana. All the cattle ran away. Yeah. Just a burnt down shack.
SPEAKER_04Lost my lost my cattle at the blackjack scene. So we are uh past week five now. Lots of parody.
SPEAKER_03So we are nearly to the halfway point of the regular season. It can't come soon enough, honestly. I'm so sick of this football season already. So I I think I mentioned this on the pod last week, but I I held true to it. Didn't watch a second of NFL football Thursday, Sunday, or Monday. Good for you. Wow. Maybe maybe there's something to that because I watched more than I have. I would check Sleeper periodically, and I was looking at the ESPN app on box scores, but I I didn't watch any football.
SPEAKER_05He was watching Sleeper, he watched the box scores, he used his eye to watch YouTube TV, Sunday TikTok. But he didn't watch any TV.
SPEAKER_02You were still checking Sleep in red zone.
SPEAKER_05Like your player scores? He of course he did all this while he was at an NFL game.
SPEAKER_03So so this is what I did. I would check my team score. I did not look at the matchup. Oh, interesting. Interesting. Because you had your players pulled up. Yeah, I just had I had my team pulled up and I would and I didn't check it a bunch. I checked it like you know, halfway through the one o'clock games before the four o'clock game started.
SPEAKER_05Was this unilateral disarming? Were you stepping away from football? Was this sort of court ordered or family ordered? Self-imposed. Self-imposed, yeah. It was absolutely self-imposed. Okay.
SPEAKER_03Like I said, I I was in a really bad mood week four. And it was it was not good. Came out very ashamed. And I had to do something different. So we spent the day outside, we went to the zoo, I did a bunch of chores. Great. It's nice. Was that better? Marginally. Marginally. Yeah. Look, you know how I'm wired? Part of me is like, I want to feel that pain. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02It's it's a delicate balance because you had a big weight.
SPEAKER_03It's a sign of addiction, is what it is.
SPEAKER_04I would be I would be interested to know from our from our league. Is just general football watching, is it down? Like amongst our league, like amongst our members. Like and maybe it's just because we're getting older and we have other shit to do. But also, I just think the product of the league isn't as good as it used to be. I mean, you all the top player, you always have all these fucking injuries.
SPEAKER_03I'm telling you, I wouldn't have said this two years ago. It is easier to watch, and granted, it's it's the playoffs right now. It's easier to watch an MLB game than it is an NFL game.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_03The pace of product of the game is way better. Playoff baseball is fantastic. It is. I mean, and that's that's why I caveated it with that. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04I think I mean this is just me personally. I think after Mahomes' what second year, when he blew up, had like 50 some touchdowns, maybe that next season, but after that, the league has been downhill from there.
SPEAKER_03Between every every season has been worse. Between the play clock, flags, timeouts, commercial breaks. It's it is the longest running game in pro sports right now.
SPEAKER_04It comes to the Super Bowl, and it's every year it is just a random flag that is a subjective thing that determines the outcome of the game. And it's like, and then again, you have all these injuries. I don't remember this being the case back in like the Peyton Manning Colts days. Well like Harrison played every week. Reggie Wayne played every week. It was a huge deal when Edrin James blew his ACL, and now it's like that happens all the time.
SPEAKER_02Well, it could you know it could be too because you have now more guys like skipping training camps, doing their own thing. Well, then they come in late.
SPEAKER_04I think it's a generational thing too, of like guys just don't play, they don't have guaranteed contracts, so they're like, I don't care if I play or not.
SPEAKER_05Why I had this uh comment going around on Sunday where uh, you know, old ass Joel Flacco, old millennial, ancient 39 years old is having to pick up the slack from a Gen Z piece of shit now, Anthony Richardson. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02You know, it could be I so I mean this is maybe correlates, maybe not, but like I remember when I was getting therapy with my physical therapist, and she was talking about how don't even start. So she was just talking about how like she hates kids that play like one sport, yeah, but it's it's being driven that way where you basically have to specialize in one sport, yeah, and so you start seeing more injuries because these kids aren't doing so like I'm just saying like this new generation coming in where they've spent their entire time just playing football. Yeah.
SPEAKER_05Now, was she able to work her way through that groin injury that you had?
SPEAKER_02It wasn't a groin injury, unfortunately. It was a knee injury.
SPEAKER_04She was great though. She was awesome. It was my grundle that really needed uh work done.
SPEAKER_03Let's do week five recaps.
SPEAKER_04All right.
SPEAKER_03Let's start with right to bear arms and team beamer.
SPEAKER_04I think I think the big thing before we go through recaps is talking about the parody that Kyle brought up. We have one, two, nine, three, four. I'll just give you the number.
SPEAKER_03Nine teams are three and two and two teams. Wow. And and it would have been seven, and then the projections flipped on the two games on Monday night.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Beamer was projected to win, and Kyle was projected to win.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. So three wins is the highest of anyone in the league. Yeah. And there's nine of those. And then two and three teams, we've got one, two, three.
SPEAKER_03And then you you've got the the one and four teams.
SPEAKER_04And the the weird thing about the the two and three teams is like they seem better. Two of them are very good. They're very good. Like two of them could easily be like four and one.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_04So yeah. But yeah, back to the matchups.
SPEAKER_03Well, and just real quickly on that, I I was looking last year and I I think I maybe told someone in the league this. I mean, we had a six and eight team make the playoffs last year. Yeah. And I mean, it's feasible that it happens this year too. Seven wins, seven gets you in. Seven gets you in.
SPEAKER_04Okay. Pretty regularly. So, and how many weeks do we have left now? Uh week six. We have 14 weeks. Eight. Uh no, nine. Well, counting this is nine. So basically, if you go five, five four and five on the way out, you make the playoffs. Okay. All right.
SPEAKER_03That's the week four match matchups. Um, week five recap. Which one are we doing? We're doing Kendall. Kindle beats Team Beamer 92 to 88.
SPEAKER_04See, this is good on Kendall because he has been able to hold this thing together through a myriad of injuries. He's sitting at two and three. He's he's not out of this at all.
SPEAKER_03It's like making sure your farm equipment is working during harvest. Yeah. You just put the right pieces on there. You gotta tweak things a little bit. He's got it figured out. Make sure it's greased.
SPEAKER_04Joe Flacco, 26 and a half. That's incredible. I mean, Flacco had more points in this game than Anthony Richardson, I think, has had in the game all season. And I kind of appreciate that start.
SPEAKER_05I I I mean, how what percentage of sleeper users do you think? I mean, what how often is Joe Flacco rostered? He had a start delivered. He's got a lot of things.
SPEAKER_03Well, I guarantee he was thinking about Andy Dalton versus Chicago.
SPEAKER_04He's rostered in 14% of leagues. He was started in 5% of leagues.
SPEAKER_03Wow. He had Jared Goff on by. Chase Brown with a really nice game, nearly 15 points. So is that um how's that backfield looking like I I think it's it's trending towards Chase Brown. Zach Moss, did he get hurt this past week? Right? He came off the field. Yeah. I don't know what his status is now, but uh, you know, I've got Kendall this coming week, and that could be bad.
SPEAKER_04Xavier Worthy with 10.
SPEAKER_03Um gets a TD.
SPEAKER_04But yeah, Kendall wins 92 to 88, close matchup. Um, this was Beamer's second loss in a row.
SPEAKER_03Um most other teams, Keenan Allen would not be startable.
SPEAKER_04Kendall has to start him. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03But he's been so bad.
SPEAKER_04Um Beamer starts Justin Watson this week. If he would have started anyone else, he wins this this game. I don't know why he didn't start Mostert.
SPEAKER_02That was the first game Mostert was back, right?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, but he left him on the bench. He had uh close to 11 points. Iuk with a nice game, 19 points. Yeah. Rico Dowdle. I mean, he's the lead guy now in for the Cowboys. So that's a When did he get him? Like the ninth round? Yeah, that's a pretty good start now.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, absolutely. Pretty pretty easy to plug him in.
SPEAKER_04Dalton Kincaid continues to do nothing this year, which is weird.
SPEAKER_02Well, yeah. I mean, I think some of it is that Bill's offense.
SPEAKER_04I mean, they drafted him what in the first round?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, but you I mean, you would think the fact they don't have a star receiver, Kincaid would be getting more or at least like you know, have some touchdowns every once in a while.
SPEAKER_04He's not doing anything this year. Does he even have a touchdown yet this year? I don't know. Um, next matchup, Quincy 132 to Phil's 68. 132 is pretty pretty high output in a normal week.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, not high points, but that's a that's a good score. Is that your highest score of the year? Yes.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_04Um, I mean, you got output from almost everybody on your roster.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, when you have everyone go in double digits.
SPEAKER_0333. Well, Aaron Aaron Jones went out in the in the first quarter and only had five points.
SPEAKER_0433 out of Lamar. Um I'm saying majority of your team did. 16 out of Jacobs finally has a touchdown. Terry McLaurin, 11. Again, like that looked like maybe a bad pick at the beginning of the year, but if Jaden Daniels is the truth, like he looks like he is, like, McLaurin's a great play.
SPEAKER_03They've created some real chemistry. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Uh Zay Flowers had 15 and a half. Brock Bowers, almost 20 points.
SPEAKER_03He's becoming my new Josh Allen.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, and if Devontae Adams is gonna be no longer playing for the Raiders, like and and I like that Aiden O'Connell's gonna be the starter.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I think that helps Brock Bowers. He likes his tight ends. And then you've been playing Austin Eckler several times. He gets 12 and a half in this thing. I mean, he's been he's every every game he's played in, he was out last week because of a concussion, he's had double digits every week. And you're getting the return yards too. Yeah. So you're getting some additional. And and hand up, I wasn't thinking about that when I drafted him.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, so he had 46 kick return yards in that, which is basically good for two two points. So that I could choose, which is you're from 12 to 10 to 12. Yeah, and fill still some pretty serious holes to fill. Same Darnold didn't come through this week for him. Um, only had four points. Uh Brian Robinson had close to 14. Tyreek Hill, again with two out, just isn't able to do anything, has less than 10. Um, Javante Williams had an okay game with 13 and a half, but that's really it for him.
SPEAKER_03Atwell was a nice spot start, I think. Yeah. It's 10 out of him, basically.
SPEAKER_04So he doesn't start Stevenson because all these rumors are going around Stevenson's like, you know, lost his starting job and all this stuff, and then he goes out and gets the majority of the carries.
SPEAKER_03Well, I think the the head coach said that Antonio Gibson was going to be the starting running back. Yeah, it's just this coach speak bullshit. Um my kicker did uh did he's got a high ankle sprain. So he's he's dead to me now.
SPEAKER_05I mean this It was his kicking foot too. I think it would have been nice if you got him to do a cameo, just sort of say goodbye to your team. We've we you know we've had kickers on before.
SPEAKER_04For Phil though, this is just I mean, this is a good week to face Phil because Malik Neighbors uh was out who's still in the concussion protocol as of today. Lad McConkey was on by and Sam Laporta was on bye. So yeah. Uh next matchup, I'm gonna do mine. So I think we got some comments that we spent a lot of time in the pod last week talking about Miles' team.
SPEAKER_05So here's what I have: I have a 90-second countdown.
SPEAKER_04Oh, yes. I like it. Okay, great. We can spend five seconds on this fucking team. Hang on, here we go. And we're off. All right, go Miles. Uh I win 103 to 92. Uh Baker had a good game, 23. I spot started Trey Sermon. He had 15. It's a great spot start. Yeah, Nico.
SPEAKER_02But it wasn't looking very good.
SPEAKER_04Nico right at the end. Nico had almost 15 points in like a quarter and then as a hamstring, and now he's dead. Um Marvin Harrison doesn't do anything. Kraft. Tucker Kraft. Anyone with a name Tucker is just the fucking man.
SPEAKER_01Do you think he's do you think this is sustainable?
SPEAKER_04You think once they get Motsim back that that's gonna be three points is not sustainable out of a tight end, but like it's as good as anybody. You're starting in the league, you know? Um, so yeah, so I beat talk to me real quickly about Wicks. Uh Wicks didn't do anything. The thing with Wicks is like he had seven targets. He just didn't catch any balls. So we go back to uh Dinze. Uh I don't know. Probably not. Maybe.
SPEAKER_03Well Scotty didn't have a bad performance. Trevor Lawrence with with 21 points, Derek Henry 16, Chris Godwin a little low for him at nine.
SPEAKER_04It's just like one of those weeks. Jameson went from like two points to 11 points at the end of that.
SPEAKER_03Scotty's in a weird situation with Bigsby and ETN right now. Yeah. I'm not sure how that's gonna shake out. Gets 12 out of his kicker.
SPEAKER_01You would just love you would just love one of them to get in.
SPEAKER_0415 seconds. You know what's weird about Trevor Lawrence? Like, this was his best game of his career, and he only had 21 fantasy points. Was it really this best game of his career? Uh I think completely uh yard game. Completion wise, yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_05All right. Big data in IUI dog. And we're out. That was great. Good are we? That was great.
SPEAKER_04We're gonna we're gonna cut it down by 10 seconds next week. That's great. Big data, the squeaker 8635 to 86.08 over Cameron. This is two uh close losses in a row.
SPEAKER_02Brees Hall, man. Five five points. You know, do you think is Cameron? Do you think he's he's happy they got rid of uh was it Sayer or Sayla? Sayla? Or do you think it's really gonna even make I mean is is really he the problem or is Hackett gonna be yeah.
SPEAKER_04But I but I would say at least Daniel fucking Hackett, who we all remember two years ago with Denver, was like the worst head coach of all time. Like worse than Jeff Saturday. And then he goes to the Jets because they signed Aaron Rodgers, so Aaron Rodgers basically handpicks his offensive coordinator. Nathaniel Hackett is a fucking terrible coach. The problem with this team was their offense, not their defense. Sala was a defensive head coach, and he gets fired. Scapegoat, did you hear some of oh, let's go conspiracy theorist on this? Do you see some of the reasons he got fired? Yeah. Number one, Woody Johnson, who's the owner of the Jets, former ambassador to the UK, ambassador to the UK. That game was in the UK. Um, people are saying that before the game, they're like, if the Jets lose this game, some heads are gonna roll because Woody Johnson has all his fancy friends in London. Yeah, and he's getting embarrassed if they lose. They lost. Number one. Number two, Salah was wearing a uh Lebanon uh flag on his uh sweatshirt or whatever. Um because Woody's pro-Israel. Yeah, Israel's like bombing Lebanon as a as a New Yorker. Funny thing about Robert Salah. From Dearborn.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, he's one of my people.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, no, he's a great guy.
SPEAKER_05I think he has a large I don't know why the Colts you could say we have just a couple um people of Middle Eastern are descending Dearborn.
SPEAKER_04Yes, he's he's still owed like it's a crazy amount.
SPEAKER_03He's gonna make it's like 20 million or something. He's gonna make something like $20,000 a day for the next two years.
SPEAKER_01Like you gotta be like when you're leaving it like that's awesome. Thank you, Airman.
SPEAKER_04I'm the Colts. I legitimately, as soon as that news comes out, I call him, I call Gus Bradley. You're fucking out. He's fucking in. I'll pay you however much you want.
SPEAKER_03But that would that would probably offset or negate his current agreement if he just has another job.
SPEAKER_04But he wants another job. Like Paidin, not just jumping.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, he gets to stay home and watch football and football coaching.
SPEAKER_01Start start, you know, take time off, rethink what happened.
SPEAKER_04He'll get another head coaching job.
SPEAKER_03No, I know. A little bit about Cody's team. Doesn't get anything out of a cane. Um Walker, decent, decent performance. Really, I mean, Josh Downs, I don't know what's going on with his ankle because he tweaked it, it sounds like. But with this new Pittman news, could be an upshot for Downs. Yeah, I mean, Downs is startable every week. Um He's been getting some really deep hits too.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Um Achain, again, that whole Dolphins team just absolute nosedive with two outs. Huge game by Kyler Murray. Yeah. Kenneth Walker with 11. Um on Cameron's side, CeeDee Lamb gets nine. Um Jaden Reed, 12 points. This is like his second worst game of the year, but like no one talks about him. He's receiver one, baby. He's a wide receiver one.
SPEAKER_03All right, um, electric. Subpar gets his first win of the year.
SPEAKER_04Oh, God.
SPEAKER_03Pete is one and four. He beats whiskey um without an H. Dango Foxtrot. You know, okay, hold on. What happened?
SPEAKER_04Okay.
SPEAKER_01You could have stepped on his throat and you'd let him cover your ears.
SPEAKER_02Fuck you, Derek Carr. Wow. Hate you. Derek Carr. Derek Carr, fuck you. Why? Why? Okay, so I'm a Saints fan. He's terrible. I don't like him. I think he's a real baby. He's a bad guy.
SPEAKER_03You know, since he's been the quarterback in New Orleans, the crime rate has dropped in New Orleans. That escalated quickly. So if you don't care about public safety, he really got out of belt fast.
SPEAKER_04He he's absolutely terrible. He's he's why are you saying this? Just because Olave didn't have anything?
SPEAKER_01No, like you it well, yeah, he was terrible. Like, if you watch the game, he was absolutely terrible. I didn't watch the game. He was terrible. Tell us about it. No, he was terrible. Like, like a lot of people are like, that was really, really bad. Like he threw a pick six at the very beginning. He threw it up like a little high schooler who got under pressure and just chucked it up in the air.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_05I think this is like this is like a therapy session.
SPEAKER_02Like he for Kyle. Yeah. He is awful. He he does, and he does this this deal where he'll go like two or three games and he'll look great. And then he'll go two or three games and he looks like he shouldn't even be a starting quarterback in the NFL.
SPEAKER_04So Olave only has two points for you. Um you started Najee Harris, he had a little less than nine. Camara had less than ten. Tank Dell, even with Nico out, only had five points. Well, but Nico didn't leave towards the end till towards the end. No, he left before half.
SPEAKER_02Was it half? I didn't I didn't see the game. Listen, I'm not really that worried. It was I mean, obviously you don't you that was a bad week to lose because of Pete putting up 80 points. Yeah. But overall, it was just there was a lot of game script, tough matchups. I I'm still not too worried about it I I didn't have Devontae Smith.
SPEAKER_04There's some things that just Yeah, you're you're getting Smith back this week, so that looks looks better. On Pete's side, like two players for him had double double digits Gino Smith with twenty two and a half, and uh Justin Tucker with eleven. That's it.
SPEAKER_03I mean eighty I mean, getting a victory with 80 points.
SPEAKER_02Like a lot of a lot of the games, like I I did watch most of the games that my players played in, and they were very like defensive games. Like a lot of back and forth, and just so I think that just it's just somewhat out of the case.
SPEAKER_03Defense has been prominent in the NFL so far this year.
SPEAKER_04Um KC has a really good defense. You know what's Vikings defense, which is on your side. Thanks, bud. Um which you picked up, they are doing something like completely innovative that no other defense does. Like they don't have any stars on their defense. And what's his name? Their defensive coordinator. Um forget his name. He used to be the Dolphins head coach, but he's like, have you seen the videos of this where they're running like these Amoeba defenses that like shift into they look one way and they're shifting into something else? And I'm like, how is he the first guy to do this? He's not.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I'm not I'm not sure.
SPEAKER_04Meanwhile, the Colts are sitting back there at cover three, like, yeah, come on.
SPEAKER_05So much so much of defense is like is predictable. You know, the offense comes out and they see, well, okay, here they are. Cover three.
SPEAKER_04That's what they keep saying about the Vikings. It's so wild. No one knows. They're showing one defense and then they immediately flip right before the snap to something.
SPEAKER_02I don't remember, but there was there was a I I know that's been done. I don't know who, but I think it's working.
SPEAKER_03Okay, so SCLCU mud dogs hold chasing CDs 165 and a half.
SPEAKER_04Since we called Owen Owen 2, he is now three and two. And on a fucking tear, 165 points. Put him in the hall. Crown his ass. That is insane. I mean, he in one week, because even like though he was getting wins, he was still like at the bottom of points overall for the season. Look, I mean, come on. I mean, you get 27.
SPEAKER_01You got 70 points out of two players. 70 points. Two players.
SPEAKER_04Jamar Chase, 36. You would have been happy with those two players this week. Joe Burrow 34. Um, Kelsey has 11 and a half. Garrett Wilson had 23 targets. 23 targets. Caught 13 of them. It's crazy. The fuck?
SPEAKER_02Absolutely crazy.
SPEAKER_04Aaron Rodgers has literally lost his mind. He's out of control. Somebody needs to get a hold of him. It's the Iowa.
SPEAKER_03That's a tough loss for the Mundogs. Well, yeah, 106, you think. Okay. If you tell someone, hey, you're gonna have 106 points this week. So here's the thing. You're gonna think he probably won.
SPEAKER_04Here's the other thing. I don't know why he starts Greg Dorch. Like, he starts Greg Dorch in the flex, even though Dorch had done literally nothing all year. Has yet to score in double digits. If he would have started Alec Pierce, he would have ended up with 20 more points. He would have had like 185 points in this fucking thing. That is crazy.
SPEAKER_02Wow. Which it's it, yeah. I mean, you think about that's two matchups. So basically he gained his points for four. Yes.
SPEAKER_04He gained in one week, he basically gained an entire points to like mid, he's like sixth overall in points or something. It's crazy.
SPEAKER_03Never count out Zach Owen.
SPEAKER_04So the other thing here is this came out midweek. You had Singletary, Kyle. So like Tyrone Tracy came out of nowhere. Um Cody has had him, he had him, he dropped him, he had him, and then drops him in a week where Singletary was already having a groin injury. Like he dropped him just last week. So for me, I got two shit picks. One is for myself, and this one's gonna be for Cody. The shit pick here is like you chose the right guy. Like you had Tyrone Tracy, but why did you drop him when he was looking like he could be the starter that week?
SPEAKER_02Well, did he pick him up when he had Kenneth Walker on IR and then he didn't have a spot for it?
SPEAKER_04No, he just he just dropped him on the third.
SPEAKER_03So long of a toilet flood.
SPEAKER_04He just dropped him on Thursday. Wait for it. So obnoxious. It's so loud. Thank you. Uh he just dropped in last Thursday, and basically on Friday they announced Singletary wasn't playing. And then Zach goes and picks him up for like 20 bucks. I don't know why nobody else really bit on him, but like, yeah, Tyrone Tracy. Again, and I think this is just another reason why Walters needs to be fired. How does Tyrone Tracy have a better game in the NFL than he had in any game at Purdue? Well, and the New York Giants offensive line is not good.
SPEAKER_02It's not that good. It's crazy.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. He had seven and a half a carry. Um unbelievable performance there. But on on Maxwell's side, 106 points wins you most matchups.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_04And he just has the Mike Evans with two touchdowns.
SPEAKER_03Shahid with another great game, 19 points, gets a touchdown. I mean, Shahid.
SPEAKER_04Outside of the zero that he put up, has been great this year. 22, 19, 16, 19.
SPEAKER_02That's another thing too. Like you, if you're watching the KC game, half the time Carr just chucked, he just wanted to get the touchdown and he just tosh it to Shahid. Really. Instead of like you'd have Olave like 10 yards to be just running like an out route right over to the sideline. Fucking drove me nuts.
SPEAKER_03Alright, last matchup from week five. Uh Braden Abbott, this is the year 0.6. Uh Jake from State Farm. Uh Braden gets the victory 136 to 101. Jake with a really nice performance, not enough to get it done because Braden had a very dominant game. DeAndre Swift has really rounded himself out the past couple weeks. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Since he was off. And he was, I mean, he got goal line vulture twice.
SPEAKER_03I think Braden was willing to kind of move him for a deal. So without those two goal line vouchers, like he could have had three touchdowns.
SPEAKER_04He could have had 30 points in this thing. Yeah. Um Josh Allen with I mean, it's good when Titty is winning and Josh Allen's putting up like mid-tier performances. 14 points.
SPEAKER_03Drake Low. Did you I saw this after on social media? Josh Allen like got knocked out. They gave him smelling salts and he went right back in the game.
SPEAKER_01To a 2.0. We're gonna see it this week.
SPEAKER_03Makes no sense. That's your injury projection? Yes. Josh Allen? Josh Allen. So he's under no restriction right now? Not that I'm aware of that. No, but he should have been. Like there's a lot of.
SPEAKER_04I'm gonna check with Jake Laser a little later, but I don't think so. So Drake London had 27. Really good week out of him. Um Stefan Diggs continues to just be really solid.
SPEAKER_03Um did you see this rumor that he was having an affair with Cardi B when she was eight months pregnant? I saw that.
SPEAKER_04Wild, why would it I'm pretty sure it was someone else's kid, though, right? Our Twitter feeds are the same, but so is like my wife's is now the same. And like Connor, bro. We all get the same stuff. So just far right in celebrity news.
SPEAKER_03I'll tell you this. Okay. I've had a couple of moments over the past few weeks. Miles will send me a tweet, and I like there was literally a moment last week where I I was reading the same tweet when he sent when he texted me the tweet.
SPEAKER_05See, my favorite moment on Twitter, sorry, X is when I'm just kind of scrolling and I'll see like some like some like right-leaning kind of like conspiracy tweet, and I'll just be like, that was weird, and then I see retweeted by Indie Dark Knight.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Um Indie Dark Knight's a great follow.
SPEAKER_03I don't know whose account that is, but I like that Indie Dark Knight was really going after uh going after the Purdue football program this past week.
SPEAKER_05There there are certain people that really get Indy Dark Knight.
SPEAKER_04We have the same likes, it's a weird I have alerts on for Indie Dark Knight. That's smart. So um for uh you know I'm gonna say this. Brayden's team is now my favorite team in our league. Hey, welcome to the bandwagon. Yeah, you're not the only fan. I've always been a fan. So the big thing is George Kittle puts up 16 in this one. Other than the game he was out, George Kittle in his last three games, 17, 12, 16. Like that's huge if you're getting double digits out of your tight end. Um Brian Thomas uh looks like a really good trade in his favor now at this point. Um has 20 against uh Haplas Colts. Um, but he's a true, like easy wide receiver two, if not wide receiver one now. Um yeah, the the best. And he's deep, even with Pittman going out, it almost clarifies his team because he's got Kareem Hunt who's had 18 and this one he didn't even start.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, but Kareem Hunt is a is that that is a temporary band aid.
SPEAKER_04Okay, when do you think what's his name is coming back?
SPEAKER_03Pacheco's out for the year. He's not out for the year.
SPEAKER_04Pacheco is out probably until the fantasy playoffs, at least.
SPEAKER_02He's out probably for three, four more weeks. No. Carson Steele had another fumble, right?
SPEAKER_04I will bet you right now he's at least out the next two months.
SPEAKER_03We have a bet on the table.
SPEAKER_04Do you want to bet?
SPEAKER_02Two months.
SPEAKER_04Two months, eight weeks. That's eight more weeks. He's already been out four weeks. I bet he's out the next eight. He doesn't play the next eight weeks of games. So is he playing week of Thanksgiving?
SPEAKER_02I'm gonna go, I'm gonna go the under.
SPEAKER_03So he's playing before Thanksgiving.
SPEAKER_02So what's the bet? Well, I'm going under eight weeks, right? This was like a weird. That was really strong.
SPEAKER_0450 bucks. Yeah, it's a good thing.
SPEAKER_03We don't need a video podcast. They sort of just figured each other. The thing about Braden's team is the depth he has, it's high-end depth, and it's gonna be so lethal during these heavy bye weeks we're getting into. It makes him that much stronger.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. So uh T. Higgins had a good week, 20 almost 25 points. So who knows? Does he play him? Does he not? It doesn't really matter. Nick Chubb looks like he's gonna be back very soon for him. Um so even with Pittman going out, it's not that big a deal. And then he gets David Montgomery back from bye. So he's got just a plethora of people, and maybe this is how you run a team now in our league.
SPEAKER_03Well, don't forget about Isaiah Likely. Yeah. I mean, he's got he's got all these players. I'll tell you, one person who can the Kyle is the worst. Kyle is the king of pretzel braining. He's the tweak master. Not the twerkmaster, he's the tweak master. Braden is probably number two. I worry about Braden overanalyzing his start sit. Kendall's a pretzel brainer. Yeah, but he's got nothing on his roster.
SPEAKER_04Well, but okay, I agree. But is this the way to win with how many injuries come along? Is it just try to stack as much depth as you can?
SPEAKER_02We'll find out.
SPEAKER_04We will see.
SPEAKER_02Um, on Jake's side. It's still impressive. Jake without Saquon put up a hundred. I still stand by this team.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, Debo Samuels had two and a half points.
SPEAKER_02He's gonna have better days.
SPEAKER_03DJ Moore was a huge week. Kyle Pitts actually showed up, seven receptions, eighty-eight yards.
SPEAKER_04It's been stringing together some decent games. Chuba Hubbard has been really good for him. He hasn't he put up zero zero the week last week. He didn't have a good game like two weeks ago. Six points, yeah. Seven. Streaky. That's pretty good. Uh for tight end. Um Saquon Barkley was out for him this week, though. Um so yeah, he's he's at three and two. But Brayden is coming on strong after what was it, an 0-2 start?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I mean, this is uh this is good for Braden. I think he becomes a really dangerous team. Uh not someone you want to be facing in the immediate future, that's for sure.
SPEAKER_07Yep.
SPEAKER_03So that is uh that's our week five uh matchup recap. Is it uh power ranking time? Alright. Stretching out here, hang on. Can't wait for this bullshit. Coming in at 14, dropping one spot even after a victory, it was a low-scoring victory for him. Pete Crowell is in the in the 14 hole in the week six power rankings.
SPEAKER_05Even after a win.
SPEAKER_03Even after a win. At 13 is Phil. Phil drops a spot. Moving up from 14 to 12, who's now two and three, he's cobbling it together. A lot of respect there for it is Kendall. Kendall's at 12. Alright. At 11, dropping three spots. This is a historical trend we talk about all the time we talked about a little bit last week. Beamer.
SPEAKER_04Beamer. The October surprise.
SPEAKER_03Beamer is at 11. Um, and just to give you a little bit of a week two, beamer was beamer was at five. Week three, beamer was at four. Last week, beamer was at eight, and this week, beamer's at eleven.
SPEAKER_02Oh wow. Four, eight, eleven. Yep.
SPEAKER_03Roller coaster. At ten, uh, no movement here, and this was like these next three, four spots were really, really impossible. At 10 is Zach Owen. He had that monster week of 165 points. Yeah. But like, I just look at it as a flash pan. Yeah. Still don't really like the team. So he doesn't have a running back.
SPEAKER_04He was able to pick up Tyrone Tracy to get back.
SPEAKER_03Like, when you get in, when you get into the the next few teams, it's just hard to put Owen higher at this point. He can't get 80 points out of Burrow and uh Jamar Chick. Yeah, so Owen stays at 10. I'm sure I'll hear about that. At nine, moving up two spots is yours truly. I'm a nine. I think you should be higher.
SPEAKER_04You have put up high points. You just haven't had the right match.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it's just hard with a losing record.
SPEAKER_04He's just trying to give his team fuel.
SPEAKER_03No, no, no. Look, I could make an argument that this team should be seven, but then you move other people down, and I don't know that this Aaron Jones injury happens at a perfect time going into a by-week. Going to by a week, yeah. Yeah. At eight, moving up one spot is Cody. Cody's in the eight hole. The problem for Cody, right? Like, what's going on with Jonathan Taylor? But uh When does Tua come back for Waddle? Yeah. So Cody's in the eight-hole. I mean, you could make an argument Cody should have stayed at nine instead of moving up a spot and putting me at A, but Cody's at eight. At seven, this is a little bit of a little bit of a slide. Uh Cameron is at seven. Interesting. Wow. Yeah. At six, moving four spots down, is Scotty Allen. Scotty's at six. This is probably where you wanted him for several weeks. Yeah, most of the time, yeah. So a lot of movement in the power rankings this week. At five, uh, moving up a spot is Kyle. Kyle's at five. Whoa. What do you think, Kyle? Tell me. Well, it's better than last week.
SPEAKER_02No, I last week I should have deserved a higher place. Well, and this week I think it's fair.
SPEAKER_04And you lost.
SPEAKER_02I did. And you moved up a spot.
SPEAKER_04I'm just saying. No, I think that's I think it's completely fair, but I think what I'm I I I don't know how I haven't I'm not down further on this list.
SPEAKER_03At four, moving down a spot is Jake. Jake's at four. See, this makes no sense to me. There's no reason I should be this high. And at three, the person who's complaining right now is Miles. Miles is at three. You you were at five last week. I think five is probably as high as you should put me, but your team is incredibly dangerous.
SPEAKER_04Nico playing is now out on IR. Rashi Rice is dead.
SPEAKER_02And he's gonna have running back problems in the future. If DMC comes back.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, Jordan Mason is a until CMC. If he comes back, and if he comes back, it's November, they're saying.
SPEAKER_04No, they were talking about I'm not saying I'm like the 13th team. I'm just saying there's no way I'm number three.
SPEAKER_03At two, making a big jump from seven last week is Braden Abbott. Braden. Wow. Braden's at two. He turned that thing around quick. I mean, the move he made with you is looking really, really good. Yeah. And we just talked about all this depth that he has. And we're getting into bye weeks. So Braden is at two. At one, you couldn't move him down because of his points four, even though he lost, but he still put up over 100 points. Kind of a one-off against that that Zach Owen team at 165. Ryan Maxwell stays at one. I think this is the first team in the power rankings this year to stay in the in the top spot for more than one week. We've had a lot of shakeup. Week two, Cody was number one. Week three, it was Jake. Um last week it was Ryan, obviously, and this week Ryan still stays in that spot. So those are the those are the power rankings for week six.
SPEAKER_04Wow, that was a lot of movement. I mean, this is the most movement we've seen this year.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Well, I mean, no, Tim used this phrase last week as it related to our picks we make. Um, but it was kind of a moving week.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Um we can talk about waivers. Um, nothing huge this week. Um Juju Smith Schuster comes back from the dead. He's only 27 years old. Doesn't he seem like he's 30 years? Yeah. Um I had a big game the other night. Uh does he take over that or she rice role?
SPEAKER_02I'm kind of surprised that Kendall spent $20 on that, but he didn't go higher on some other ones. Yeah, I think it was a lesson learned.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_02So 20 next week.
SPEAKER_03But what's what's also interesting about that is he was willing to invest in Juju going into a bye week like that.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Um Kirk Cousins.
SPEAKER_03So Phil's doing a hot swap here. Hang on, Kirk Cousins for Aaron Riders. Hot swap. This Juju thing. So he spends, what was it, 22 bucks, 20 bucks on Juju going into a bye week. And there's a lot of rumor floating around that Kansas City may pick up a receiver in a trade. Like Devontae. Like Devontae. Maybe Amari Cooper. I don't think I don't think the Raiders are going to trade him. Maybe Romeo Dobbs. I don't think they're going to trade him to KC. Yeah, it wouldn't make a ton of sense. Division rival.
SPEAKER_02I think Romeo Dobbs would be a great addition to that team.
SPEAKER_04It's worth a shot, man. If he is even getting 60% of the output that Rasheed Rice was. Who, Devontae? Yeah, but Juju. Juju.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I'm not I'm not chastising the move at all. I I think it was the right decision for Kendall. Uh that's not what I'm saying. You gotta do that. You gotta take your shot, especially when you got a bunch of fabs sitting there and the position that Kendall's team is in right now. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Um so yeah, Phil with a hot swap, uh, he gets rid of Aaron Rodgers for 18 bucks. He picks up Kirk Cousins. Was that a political statement? Yeah, I think so.
SPEAKER_02I thought the um I thought what was interesting was Cody picking up the Ravens. Getting ready to go against Washington. Maybe he thinks Jaden Daniels, this is gonna be the game that they I don't know, it's weird. Um did you did you like that Passover?
SPEAKER_04He's like, I don't know, that's weird. No, let's keep on talking about something else. No, it's weird. He dropped the Browns, but yeah, it's weird. Um other defenses that were picked up this week. Cameron picks up the Chargers for six bucks. They have a pretty good schedule moving forward here.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I mean I made a play, I didn't put any money down, but I that's the team I wanted. Eagles were picked up by Scotty. Yes, savvy on Scotty. He goes, I mean, four people went after this. Scotty for five, Pete for four, Ryan for three, and Cameron for zero as a backup uh to his Chargers move. Yeah. Um and Scotty Scotty wins it by a dollar.
SPEAKER_04Slick rick, um, Pershaw, he's still tending to that gun wound, gets uh one dollar out of Maxwell. Um Daniel Jones. I want to know the truth about that.
SPEAKER_03Like, was he really shot? Like, or was it more of a graze? He was shot in the fucking stomach.
SPEAKER_04You could see that you thought they said it was his chest. Well, it was like right here.
SPEAKER_03Chest stomach, below the nipple. But like, was it like a light flesh wound? I don't know. I saw the blood coming out. He walked to the ambulance and was released the same time.
SPEAKER_04Then maybe the bullet went like this, but like it was right here. It was a real gun. It was more than like look, he's far tougher than than I am. It's just well, we don't know that. Can we shoot?
SPEAKER_01Have you had a gunshot wound before?
SPEAKER_04We're gonna take Quincy out back and shoot him. Uh only other one. Like it wasn't like an ear, but Daniel Jones uh hot swapped uh Derek Carr out for 10 bucks, Jake Adams. So not a huge uh waiver wire week. Um the weird thing to me, Maxwell was holding two defenses for like two weeks. Did you see that? And they neither one was neither defense was like it good. Like they were both very mediocre. It was weird to me. Um and then I just made a trade. I had to give Mark Andrews just bad for um it was a that's in my second shit pick this week, Tim. Don't don't play the flex. I picked the the flex. You don't have to play this the vacuum part. Um I picked him in the packed him in the third round and he's just done absolutely nothing. I hate the Ravens, they do not utilize him. I I uh swapped him to Braden for eight bucks, I just had to get him off the roster, you know? I couldn't stare at that uh mistake every single day. Turn off the vacuum. So do we want to go over this week's matchups? Let's do it.
SPEAKER_05Well, before we start, did Quincy just put Lamar Jackson on the trading block?
SPEAKER_06Wa, wah, wah, wah.
SPEAKER_05Why are you doing this?
SPEAKER_02That was a bit of a surprise. There you do realize we have plenty of time till trade deadline.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, so Jay just messaged out like any blockbuster trades before the deadline. We've still got like a month left.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah, we do. We've got lots of time. Lots of time.
SPEAKER_04Aren't we like five weeks left? I think we go week nine now.
SPEAKER_05I think Quincy's just trying to add some interest to the trade block.
SPEAKER_04Well, isn't it week 10? Because it was week nine last year. Yeah, we moved it back one. It's week 10.
SPEAKER_05Let's go back to matchups.
SPEAKER_04We've literally got a month left. So, Jake, what are you doing?
SPEAKER_03Sending out misinformation.
SPEAKER_02Trade deadline is week 10.
SPEAKER_03First matchup, uh, Cromartie's kids versus right to bear arms. Miles.
SPEAKER_04Um I'm gonna go with the kids. Juju's on by, Xavier Worthy's on by. Um he still doesn't have Pacheco or Puka back. Um it does look like he's getting AJ Brown back, but he's still starting people like Rashad White, uh Keenan Allen. Um I don't even know who he's gonna start in his other flex spot.
SPEAKER_03Maybe Jennings. So I'm gonna go with you. So I've said all year that I was picking myself. I'm gonna reverse course. Um I don't feel good about this week. I've got Aaron Jones, even though there's pending injury, he's on he's on by. Cooper Cup is still out. I've got a, you know, it's marginal, but still gotta do kicker defense. Um he does get AJ Brown. Kendall gets AJ Brown back this week. Chase Brown looks to be the RB1. Zach Moss is not practicing, it looks like. I just don't feel good about week six, and I'm gonna pick Kendall. That's interesting. What's going on with Romeo Dobbs? So I heard a couple things today. These young kids in the NFL now, specifically receivers, are really focused on their target share. And it's like it's a difference between making four million a year and making 20 million a year, and they're they're acting out on it more. And Dobbs took it to an extreme, skipped practice Thursday, Friday, was suspended. He's back now at practice. Who knows what that means? You know, sometimes it's really weird. All of our perception would be like, oh, well, they're gonna make him pay for his actions, but then he goes off for like 25. So who knows? But I mean, I don't have many options. He's gonna start in my flex, but I'm picking Kendall.
SPEAKER_02Oh, give me Quincy. Give me Cromartie's kids. Okay.
SPEAKER_04Man, we could have had a consensus plake. I thought for sure Quincy was gonna. Yeah. You can't force these things, okay? It just happens. All right. Um, we can do my matchup. I got uh MAGA versus Phil filling holes. Um I typically pick against my team, but I think I have good reason to pick against my team this week. Um obviously Rasheed Rice is out for the year. Um Nico Collins is now dead for at least a month. Um and on Phil's side, he gets Laporta back from bye. I think Malink Neighbors plays this week. He's got Ladd McConkey, Brian Robinson, Stevenson back in there. I think Phil gets the win.
SPEAKER_03I disagree. Uh you get St. Brown back fresh off of a bye. Marvin Harrison had a down week last week. He probably bounces back against Green Bay. Tyler Kraft is playing really, really well. J.K. Dobbins back after a bye, so fresh legs. You know, Wicks again. He's kind of a boomer bust guy, but again, he had seven targets last week. Baker's playing really good football. Jordan Mason's still the RB1. I just don't love Phil's team. Laporta really hasn't done anything. Ramondre Stevenson, question mark every single week. Can't trust Javante Williams. I gotta go with you.
SPEAKER_04So you talk about Jordan Mason. The Niners should be like undefeated this year. But they're, I thought what, two and three now? The games that they've lost have been like fucking insanely like just stupid. Like he kept, instead of playing Jordan Mason, they kept playing the backup running back. It was like the backup would come in and get like two yards a run, and then Jordan Mason would come in and get like eight yards a run. And it was just like, why are you playing it? And I know Mason fumbled at the end of the game, but it was like just this is two games in a row now that they've lost because Shanahan is just like, I think he just he reminds me a lot. He reminds me a lot of Chris Ballard, where he's just like he's stubborn to be stubborn for no fucking reason.
SPEAKER_03I think Shanahan's getting caught up in the California lifestyle. I'm taking miles in this matchup.
SPEAKER_02Um, but you're still kind of back to your original team. Still looks pretty good. I still Phil's teams just still got a lot of holes to fill.
SPEAKER_04Give me Miles. Next up, big data versus Laces out. It's gonna be a good matchup. It is. Um, looks like Scotty's throwing in a Ray Ray McLeod into there. That's that's interesting.
SPEAKER_03Look, he's had basically 10 points the last two weeks.
SPEAKER_02And he's for a flex bot, essentially.
SPEAKER_03And he's got a couple players on by. Although the question is, do you play Bigsby and ATN both?
SPEAKER_04I think you can in some matchups. And maybe Bigsby takes over that backfield entirely.
SPEAKER_03Um Doug, your boy Doug Peterson said that he's not doing that. So that means the opposite's gonna happen. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Um I think this is gonna be really close. Um, it looks like Cody's starting Bucky Irving, who's splitting carries there. DeAndre Hopkins against the Colts could score 30. That's actually gonna be my decision right there. Um, I think Cody's gonna win because the Colts are terrible and Hopkins is actually gonna have a respectable game.
SPEAKER_03So I think Chris Godwin has a really big game. I also think Derrick Henry plays well against Washington. True. So I'm picking Scotty to win this matchup. Gimme Cody.
SPEAKER_02Um I like uh I like Scotty in this one. I know that I I agree, I think this is gonna be a close matchup, but um he's got Derrick Henry. And uh he's got Hertz coming off the bye against Cleveland. I think he's gonna eat. Cleveland's so terrible. Makes me sad. So give me laces out.
SPEAKER_03Alright. Subpar versus Chase and TDs.
SPEAKER_04I mean, these two teams were written off a couple weeks ago. Um, I am gonna go with Chase and TDs simply because even in Pete's one win, he only scored like 80 points. So and especially if Tyrone Tracy is the lead back again this week for the Giants. Uh yeah, Chase and TDs. He does have Kelsey out, so we'll see what he does there.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I I tend to agree. Again, this could this could go either way. George Pickens. I mean, I'm just can't stand the guy. Deontay Johnson showed up on uh can't stand ya. Can't stand ya uh on the injury report. He'll probably play and be fine. Bijan Robinson has been really underwhelming, although to no benefit to Tyler Algier. Um the Burrow Chase stack still looks good. Clearly, Garrett Wilson's coming on. Buffalo's defense secondary has not been all that good. That's Monday Night Football. I'm going Chase and TDs.
SPEAKER_05After this week, it will be Zach Bowen 2. I'm taking Chase and TDs.
SPEAKER_02So I had, but I thought I had my wrong week on. I thought that Burrow, so I had subpar, but if Quincy will allow it, I was quickly doing this before we started the podcast. I thought Burrow and Chase were on bye this week. They're not. So they're not. Yeah. So you got I've got Chase and T D.
SPEAKER_06Consensus clean!
SPEAKER_07Consensus clean.
SPEAKER_05Consensus claim. I think Kyle changes pick just so we can hear that.
SPEAKER_04But um, you know, I'm for it. Next up, IUI Doc versus SCLSU mud dogs. This is a very heavy hitter matchup. Um you've got Maxwell at the number one spot in your uh in your rankings. Um he does have Justin Jefferson out this week and Kyron Williams. So for Cameron, this is a great week to face him. Cameron doesn't really have anyone of note out. I'm gonna go with Cameron.
SPEAKER_02Cook is didn't practice, I don't think. So that's something to note, keep an eye on.
SPEAKER_03Hmm. Really curious what Brees Hall is gonna do against Buffalo. I I know Bateman had a nice week last week, but I don't see him kind of returning to that form. Zach Moss probably won't play. I'm going IU I Doc. Give me Cameron. Taking Cameron.
SPEAKER_02I am going IU I Doc.
SPEAKER_03Back-to-back consensus quakes. For anyone who doesn't know that sound bite that's being played by producer Timmy Horn, that is Taladigan Knights. Alright, next matchup.
SPEAKER_04Titty 6.0 versus whiskey tango foxtrot. Um, Tiddy is just firing on all cylinders right now. I am gonna go with him in this matchup.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I've I've got Brayden too. It seems it seems pretty clear to me. I'm gonna get my pick right here.
SPEAKER_00Well deck, here's the deal. I'm the best theory in it. I wake up in the morning, I'm thinking it's an excellence, and nobody can hang with my um, you know, I'm just a big hair American winning machine. You ain't first, you're last. You know, what we're talking about, that braid break.
SPEAKER_05Give me Brady.
SPEAKER_02I think that Josh Allen, I already called it earlier, should have been on concussion protocol. I think he's gonna struggle in this game against New York Jets, especially with the Jets after firing the head coach. They're gonna come out. I don't think I've got two back-to-back weeks like last week. And I also think Takedell's gonna have this will be his first week to go off. Okay. Love the confidence.
SPEAKER_04Last matchup, Jake from State Farm versus Team Beamer. Um Beamer's got Mahomes out, um, mostter out on bye. Uh Devontae Adams still looks like he's sitting. Um does Corbin pick up another quarterback before Sunday? The question. Not gonna be my problem if he doesn't.
SPEAKER_02So because of that, uh Jake from State Farm. I probably should start sending out reminders starting tonight. That's no. No, that is not. No, this is big boy league.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, give me Jake. This is the easiest pick of the week. I'm expecting our third consensus quake.
SPEAKER_05Give me Jake. No doubt about it.
SPEAKER_02Give me Jake.
SPEAKER_06It's a consensus quake! Three consensus quakes.
SPEAKER_04Speaking of the uh consensus, what uh now I gotta go back through all my text messages. Maxwell sends these out again at like five o'clock in the morning, and I can never find these. I got it right here. All right, do you want me to do it or you got it? Um okay, yeah. 5 20 a.m. Um he also texts us when he sent it. He goes, I don't want to be a part of a consensus quake ever again. Especially now. So uh last week I won. We all did not great.
SPEAKER_03Another bad week for me. Oh no, wait. Tim did pretty good.
SPEAKER_04We some of us did pretty good. I got three matchups right. Kyle and Quincy only got two matchups right. Tim got five matchups. Do people even watch football? Back in the game. Tim got himself back in the hunt here on the season. Kyle leads with 21 correct picks. I I am tied with Tim for second with 20 correct picks, and Quincy is at 16.
SPEAKER_02Oh, that's embarrassing. I'm embarrassed. You're on scary ground right now. Yeah. You're about ready to start slipping.
SPEAKER_04Maxwell did say another league member suggested that fourth place buys first place a nice bottle of bourbon, third buys second a nice six-pack. That's nice. I think we can keep thinking of things.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I like that one probably. In this group as well.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, at the bacon fest. No one would bat an eye. Oh boy. We had mixed reviews from the podcast last week. Well, I think that we were the first people in line to say we didn't have our greatest performance.
SPEAKER_04So you know what? We know what's interesting about that? We still had really good uh listenership. The numbers were still pretty good. But were they? Is it sure it's a dip. It was a little dip, but it wasn't much. I think we still had like 32 listens or something. That's strong downloads. Yeah. So but maybe that the thing is they were listening, and then maybe they'll like not listen, and maybe this was poor performance.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_05I hope they give us another chance. I don't know what happened last week.
SPEAKER_02It was just a bit of a but you know, the funny thing is like it sounded like in studio, it felt like not great.
SPEAKER_01I think when I listened to it, it was like, actually, that wasn't that bad.
SPEAKER_04Like, we can't bet a thousand. Felt not that great.
SPEAKER_03You know?
SPEAKER_01And we're gonna offend some people every now and then. Yeah, we are.
SPEAKER_03We mentioned this a couple years ago. I don't think we talked about it last year, but I really think there's some validity to having a CCPL intern doing an internship that manages, organizes the agenda for the podcast, helps Tim, puts segments together, puts sound bites on the board, and and then also just kind of like generally helps Kyle manage the league.
SPEAKER_05That's an interesting idea for a young person in Carroll County looking to get involved. Yeah. So should we put a put an ad in the paper? I think yeah, put uh put it something in the classifies. What about a what about a league member's child?
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Like Owen. Very true. Or this is the way for someone to set themselves apart who wants to get a neck the next spot in the league when it opens up. I was thinking about that. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Like Shane Evans. Hey, Mr. Judge, can you uh could honestly just be like a hazing. Maybe we should do that. For the the next member, like when you like rush a fraternity, like you have to be hazed into joining a club.
SPEAKER_01But in this case, there's no guarantee that you'll get in the club. So we think someday.
SPEAKER_04So we like don't set our alarms anymore and he just has to drive to our house quick.
SPEAKER_05The chances are one of you people dies of alcohol poisoning in the next five to ten years.
SPEAKER_04So we do need to put into the constitution. Uh I mean, we're not getting any younger here, people. What happens to a team in the event of a of incapacitation or death?
SPEAKER_02Yeah. I mean, pretty much. If if if there's a team that's available, then we have a you know, if if e if a if a member uh it doesn't say specifically dies, but if a if you know if a member was basically kicked out of the league or we don't have a member in that spot, you know um Can you bequeath your team to someone?
SPEAKER_04Um I don't think so.
SPEAKER_03This could be our first legal fight in the league because I mean it's in it's in my last will and testament that my team gets gets passed down to someone specific. So it would be you guys would probably contest it in court. We would.
SPEAKER_04We definitely would.
SPEAKER_03So there would be litigation.
SPEAKER_04Well, but I think with the Well depends who you're passing it down to.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Wilson.
SPEAKER_06Wilson.
SPEAKER_02I think it didn't we set something up last year where uh it depends on if if it's uh you know a blood relative.
SPEAKER_04I don't know. I think that was pitched. It was pitched, it didn't pass. Oh, I thought something got it. Maybe we think about it. Um I don't yeah you know what the you know what the proceed over under me dying or just being removed from the league. I think that's a pretty it's pretty close, honestly. That's not odd money. I did send a tweet to to Quincy where it said in the th in like a tweet that Robert Salah was like like forcefully removed or like escorted by security out of the building after he was fired. And they're like the first coach in like 20 some years that like has been literally escorted out of the building. And I was like, when I get removed from the CCBL, that's how I want to go. So this is egregious.
SPEAKER_03So if I if I if I pass while I'm still in the league, which I presume that's what what will happen. I don't I think the league is strong and healthy, and uh I'm not, but but um I have my terms are that West Berkshire takes over my team. Oh, that's and I feel like if if if I if I die abruptly, he he's gotta have enough guilt that if that's in my will, he can't turn that down. Guilt him back.
SPEAKER_01I mean that is a very that was a nice. So why did he come to the draft this year?
SPEAKER_04Is he missing it a little bit?
SPEAKER_02Uh I you'd have to ask. It was great to have him there. No, I mean I kind of begged him to be honest with you. Because one, I thought it would be great to have, you know, like a previous member there, champion, actually, I guess I should say. And um When I was on top. It's really nice me being the commissioner for the first year and you guys still showed in true colors how you could still be assholes. And him running the board was helpful. Because last year I did the board. Yeah. I wasn't commissioner then. It's really hard to do both. It's hard to do both plus. Tim's done both before, right?
SPEAKER_05Yeah, it's hard.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. So it's it's really helpful to have somebody there. So it was hopefully maybe we can continue to encourage him to make that a normal.
SPEAKER_05Well, what's the why don't you guys just make it a 16 team league and you can really just go for it? I want to. I'm open to it.
SPEAKER_02Oh boy, we're starting to be on the I mean, I think the team or I think the league is I think we've gotten to a point of advancement that we're ready for it. I think we're even ready for it.
SPEAKER_03The right tweaks have to happen. And it's it's about roster construction primarily.
SPEAKER_04I've told you, my my big thing is like I think these need to be auctioned off just like new teams in the NFL are auctioned off. Like and the money needs to go back to the league.
SPEAKER_02But I will say, I I think going 16 and is a within this league is then almost like a very fine line of then also just saying, why not go ahead and dynasty? Now I think they're very different conversations. Cameron does not like that.
SPEAKER_03I don't think he wants to expand either. Well, because it makes the draft enough fun. Yeah. I think that is his primary argument.
SPEAKER_04But anymore, it's like, yeah, I guess the draft is it's alright. But anymore, it's like these teams don't even it's just a fucking crapshoot. The whole thing is a crapshoot.
SPEAKER_03Well, I d I send it to you. I told someone else about it. Um you look at the third round of our draft, oh Cameron was the other person I shared this with. It's a total wasteland. I mean, it was close to 80% misses in the in the third round draft for this past year.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. It's absolutely crazy. And injuries were part of it, but I mean look, it's also just this there is there is so much fantasy and NFL news out there. So much. It's all over the place. There are literally thousands of people that that's their primary job. And still there's not good news. Like there are no there's no like I mean, they literally went from Nico being like, oh, he's day-to-day to oh, Coach said he's week to week to IR. Like it's like, so this guy who just said day to day twelve hours ago was just flat out fucking lied to or lying.
SPEAKER_02You don't think that has something to do though, like it's not necessarily the reporters, it may be how the team needs to plan things within the roster and like the But you can't go from day to day to IR, and that is just one I mean, look at Christian McCaffrey.
SPEAKER_04How did no one mention a word of hey, McCaffrey might be out a little bit? Maybe they the team didn't want to.
SPEAKER_02But now you can maybe make an argument. But again, these are humans.
SPEAKER_04It's not like this is like the the government and they're like redacting things and like covering things up. Like they're humans. They walk home just like everybody else does, they talk to other fucking people. How are you like how are you not able to get some news out of so-and-so's cousin or girlfriend or whatever of like, yeah, he said he's not playing this week?
SPEAKER_02I I don't know. I mean, I I don't disagree with that some of the the I just think most of the Andrew are just like fanboys that literally have no actual idea what's going on.
SPEAKER_04Like not real journalism. Yeah. With the the Pittman thing. I mean, I'm just trying to come up with examples here, but the Pittman thing, that IR thing came out of nowhere. Like, how did no one mention after the game yesterday? Like Pittman's back seems to be hurting him a little bit. This is gonna be weird. It's just this news comes out of nowhere.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but like I was like, if we remember if we went back to uh Peyton Manning, wasn't that kind of a similar thing where he started out the year and then all of a sudden it was like, oh, I'm going to Germany for Oh, Andrew Locke. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. I mean, so it's not It's like obfuscation on the part of the team, but you would think some of these reporters Could get that kind of news out of some angle, right? Yeah. Like even if you're just talking to a teammate, like you're telling me fucking Pat McAfee or some fucking backup linebacker isn't just like talking of like, hey, this is weird. I don't know. I just it's it's that's the NFL is just no longer that interesting.
SPEAKER_05Well, that's something that uh that Miles has ranted about. Anyone else have any issues that that they would like to air? I got a lot of problems with people on the street.
SPEAKER_02I had a non I had a non-fantasy question for Miles. Okay. Try not to go too Kyle, but with the current Milton Storm going on, yeah, uh do you believe that the government is controlling weather?
SPEAKER_04I think the government has the ability to modify weather, yes. Fascinating. I th I think it's like very out it's very much out there that that they can, like Cloud Seed and um other types of things. Do I think they created this? I'm not sure.
SPEAKER_02What would there be, what would be their incentive I'm curious, just like what would be their incentive for keeping this, like a storm like this if they could modify it?
SPEAKER_04Oh, I don't know. Um there's a million reasons, right?
SPEAKER_05You know, I listen to podcasts in the car, right? Because I have a commute to work. I think you guys so I listened to a Rogan podcast last week or this week, whatever it was, and they had Matt Walsh on. Yeah. Matt Walsh, conservative commentator. I'm like, all right, he's got a movie out, they're gonna talk a lot about what's a woman with that that, but he's got a new movie out. That's not what they were talking about. They talk for 45 minutes about whether or not there was an actual moon landing. And I'm I'm sitting here thinking in the car, I'm driving along, I'm like, Miles would love this.
SPEAKER_04That's my thing, guys. It's like over the last couple of years, like I'm like, at what point am I gonna start drawing the line? And I think it's flat Earth. I think that's where I've drawn the line. I that's a very that's that's like that's the last thing though, right? Like, that's the last one to go. I just want to get you just I I think I think a Miles Hodge conspiracy podcast would be interesting. Tim, I need you to produce it. Uh, we're trying to get Doug Money to move but to indie. He lives in Chicago, hell hole. And we're trying to get him to move here, and he's just as into this shit as I am. But there needs to be someone out there who does like maybe a weekly or bi-weekly podcast. Oh, there's people out there where we distill there are so many Joe Rogan conspiracy all these things where we listen to all of this stuff and then we distill it, put it into a 90-minute every week or two podcast because there's so much stuff out there. What are you gonna call it?
SPEAKER_05Doug and Miles, listen to Alex Jones and Joe Rogan and report back. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Okay. But yeah, you don't think that we have technology that we can cloud seed and things like that?
SPEAKER_02Oh no. I mean, they they've they've I I believe that it's been tested, um, and it's had mixed results. Um but that was back what, like as far back as which that that's what I found surprising, is as bar as far back as like 1945 that they started doing it. Yeah. So again, if they started doing it then, then what kind of No, but they stopped they stopped it like in 1980s, eight.
SPEAKER_04I mean, there's a conspiracy that there's this like this place in Antarctica, they've got this like facility that literally caused an earthquake in New Zealand.
SPEAKER_02Now, I don't know if I believe that or not, but like if that's I just think what's fascinating is like what would be the incentive when you have this, like you have this storm. I saw a figure, did you guys see this where the it's how much energy it produces? So it's the equivalent of ten a 10 megaton nuclear warhead every 20 minutes.
SPEAKER_04Is the energy is the energy that it puts out. So the one the one that came the one that came through like Appalachia, the big the big conspiracy behind that is there's a ton of minerals and like I think lithium beneath there, and they BlackRock and the thing everything is owned by Black Rock. Shut up, Black Rock. Companies owned by BlackRock have been investing in uh the like the land rights there so that they can hopefully try to start like lithium mining. So they're saying maybe this was them trying to basically flush that entire region out and buy the land up for cheap and do that. Wow.
SPEAKER_01That's I don't know if I believe it or not, but like well, based off the fact that flat earth is where you draw the line, I would say you probably believe it.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, how how are we are we long now? Yeah, yeah, we're long. I I just wanted to give Quincy an opportunity to weigh in if there's anything he'd like to do.
SPEAKER_04UFOs and aliens are definitely real, though. Have you seen that shit? Guys, I've got nothing to add to this conversation. Oh, by the way, this makes sense. Kylie saw a UFO last night. It wasn't a UFO. What was it? Who saw one? What was it?
SPEAKER_03Quincy. I think Air Force was running.
SPEAKER_04Oh, we run a drill. They were running drills. They were running drills out of Christmas. Also, I think there was a media that was like recently.
SPEAKER_03It was not a Starlink pattern.
SPEAKER_04So Kylie said she saw I think it was five lights in the sky that were arranged in like a linear fashion. That's Starlink. And that no. Isn't it? She said she looked up a picture of Starlink and it didn't look like that. And she literally stopped the car because she was like, Well, this is fucking nuts. And this is that's not what she would say because she's nicer than me.
SPEAKER_05You say, wow, that's weird.
SPEAKER_03And that like three lifted Tanner in the air and said, take him.
SPEAKER_04Like three of them went off and the other one like zoomed away or something. I don't know. I that was that's like a bad retelling, but like, yeah. That's interesting. Maybe we could've you just see that thing that came out today about Miles.
SPEAKER_03If you could communicate with aliens, like if you if you had an interaction, what's the one thing that you would ask? What if we are aliens? Quincy, you ever think about that? Think about that one. Let's wrap this show.
SPEAKER_02Maybe we're the aliens. Sorry guys, I didn't mean to get on a tangent. I'm just glad I I'm just I'm glad that we know where the basement floor is for you. So now we we know the range.
SPEAKER_03It's a moving colour.
SPEAKER_04I'll let you know once I start believing in flat earth.
SPEAKER_03Kyrie Irving. Bye, everybody.
SPEAKER_06Are you not educated? Is this not why you're here?
