Stay tuned for a special Thanksgiving segment as the boys discuss all the fix'ns.
Welcome, welcome, welcome. We are back live in studio after a little bit of a sabbatical. Producer Tim, Commissioner Kyle Miles, Gores Truly, and a special guest, Connor Dubay.
SPEAKER_01Ladies and gentlemen, an absolute pleasure to be here tonight.
SPEAKER_03So for those of you who do not know, um my wife's brother is in town. And uh he's basically exactly like Courtney, only has zero morals. And uh he's a male version. So high motor skill. High motor. Yeah. High motor. High motor. Well, it's good to be back. You know, it's been we missed two weeks. I'm not sure what happened. I would like to clarify for that one.
SPEAKER_02Let's be yeah, let's be clear. You were the driving factor in the cancellation.
SPEAKER_03Okay, so here's the deal. I don't think I was the fuck happened! Hey, I don't think I was the driving factor. Here's what happened. So Tim for the month of November needed to, we usually would record on Wednesday nights. And Tim needed to Is he blaming this on? No, I'm not at all. Producer Tim is great, and we absolutely need his production quality. So producer Tim said, Hey, in November, I need to do like a Monday night, a Tuesday night. He gave us various dates. Kyle was like immediately, yes, I can do those. Me, not you know me, 99% of the time, I will make whatever work that I need to make work. For Quincy, it wasn't working. And I wasn't going to bend over backwards to be like, oh, let's figure out the exact 12 minutes that Quincy has to give us over the next month. This is a little triangulation. It really is. I think you're pushing blame unfairly right now. I will say the other thing. I didn't want to have to do this goddamn podcast sitting across, no offense, Kyle, sitting across from Kyle for an hour every goddamn week where he where he talks and then thinks about what he's saying, his words are already coming out of it.
SPEAKER_02But we missed you all. Jeez.
SPEAKER_03I can't help it. This is not I I was not going to work, like try to figure out in this group chat when it would work for Quincy to do whatever we needed to do. You know what? So I just said if Quincy's not if this doesn't if it doesn't work for Quincy and it works for the rest of us, I'm saying.
SPEAKER_06Can I just say something? When everybody was questioning, I was a good host and I never threw anyone under the bus. But here you are trying to point blame at me and Quincy associations.
SPEAKER_03I am pointing blame. Now, was I motivated to do the podcast? Absolutely not. My team's awful. I haven't watched football. I went to the game Sunday, but other than that, I haven't watched the football game. I will say this is the The League's the product has been terrible. It's awful. You know what I learned this past two weeks when we were gone? And you know, as you know, I kind of go in and out of the chat. You know, I just kind of come in, go out. Sometimes I get a notification, like someone mentioned me or something. You know, shout out Braden. Apparently, he is really dependent on my just smooth.
SPEAKER_02You gotta appreciate how much the podcast means to him. It does.
SPEAKER_03Like it it's we've deprived him clearly of relaxation. So I just you know, I just want Braden to know if he wants me to, you know, I'm for sale. I can record his voicemail like uh sleep stories. Sleep stories. If he wants me to read like like the uh Farmer's Almanac Company, just read it. I would do it and I would do a good job. The weekly weather report? My hourly rate is high. I mean, very high.
SPEAKER_02But uh, be willing to do that. So let's like just do a very quick overview. Any any thoughts, things that stand out from week 10, week 11? This is gonna be really informative because I haven't been paying attention at all. Yeah, me neither. Like, what is even going on? Well, Kyle's been struggling. You put up 56 points in week 10.
SPEAKER_03But he got a Yeah, I mean, his team, but you're still sitting at five and seven. Fifty-six points? It's it's bad.
SPEAKER_06I mean, I pulled off a I mean, it's it's been really bad.
SPEAKER_03Uh Cody, if you're listening, if you're listening, can you get us the uh lowest points of all time? We know Kyle has the first close. At 28. At 28, yeah. But I want to know where 56 ranks. Like, that's gotta be top five.
SPEAKER_02So he puts up 56 in week 10. You follow that up week 11 with 59. Wow.
SPEAKER_03Well, I know. It's and then he gets a win this week at 70 points.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. I'm I'm I'm I'm like Braden 2.0 from that year that he was he made playoffs, but he was like the lowest scoring team.
SPEAKER_02So we need to shout out week 10 Pete, who not having a great season, but gets high points week 10 with 138 points.
SPEAKER_05Wow. No, he didn't.
SPEAKER_02He didn't?
SPEAKER_05No, Zach Owen didn't have to be a good thing. Oh, with 153.
SPEAKER_02I'm sorry, that's right.
SPEAKER_05He had that massive game where they put up like 100% points.
SPEAKER_02Jamar Chase put up 50 points. That's right.
SPEAKER_03So I got a question, since we haven't done this in a while. I haven't looked at any scores. How's Phil doing? You know what? Phil's been stringing it together a little bit. He has filled those holes. He's did he fill the holes?
SPEAKER_02There is a chance he doesn't uh that he's there's a chance he's not cleaning ditches at the end of the year.
SPEAKER_03Absolutely. I think there's it's now narrowed down. It's 50-50. Wow, yeah.
SPEAKER_06There could be there's still there's still it is very open for me, Cameron.
SPEAKER_03All right, so let's just do the rundown then. What what is the standings of the league? Where does everybody stand? Yeah, yeah. Then we'll go into the last bit of the overall standings. I do want to say Kendall got high score week 11. Oh, 139 points. Quincy is number one in the league, eight and four. Nice job. Maxwell is second also at eight and four. Jake is third at eight and four as well. Cody is fourth at eight and four. So all of those teams. And Beamer's eight and four. Yeah, and also Beamer. Beamer is not like the others. He's eight and four, but his points four are just not with the other guys.
SPEAKER_02If you're going only by points four, he's the twelfth team in the league.
SPEAKER_03Wow. And he's sitting at eight and four. Um we've got uh Titty, Braden Abbott at 7-5, only seven and five team. Zach Owen is at uh seventh place at six and six. Right now, Scotty is at eighth place at five and seven. Wow. I am also at five and seven, Kyle is at five and seven. And then at four and eight, we've got IUI Doc, Kindle, and Pete at four and Phil. And filling holes. Filling holes at four and eight. And so the four and eight guys, all those guys, they are eliminated from the end.
SPEAKER_02The the final slot for the playoffs right now is five and seven. So depending on how things shake out, it's very unlikely a four-and-eight team makes the playoffs because you have these five and seven teams still in the mix.
SPEAKER_03With the points four, though, Cameron has pretty good points for. He has 1179, which is higher than Kyle, myself, and he's within 25 points of Scotty.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_03So if he wins out and the other guys split, like he could make the playoffs.
SPEAKER_02You know who's been absolutely on fire is Jake from State Farm. His team's been playing very well. Why is that? It's interesting because Debo Samuel has not done anything. It's not interesting. Why has he been on fire? I mean, Saquon Barkley is playing for two players.
SPEAKER_03Unbelievable. Unbelievable. And I will say this again: all these goddamn fantasy pundits and these fucking smart ass jackholes at the beginning of the season, everyone's like, oh, Saquon, Saquon. Talk about us. He's going to fucking Philly, who always runs the ball. He can put any guy in there at running back. And then he's got an axe to grind, and he's been great this season.
SPEAKER_06So you're saying it more has to do with scheme than it is the actual player, or are you giving him a little bit?
SPEAKER_03Scheme and player. But no one in the preseason was like, oh yeah, Saquon could be a number one or two, three pick. Everyone's like, ah, late first, like Saquon, okay, I'll take him. It's like, no, he's been on a garbage goddamn team his entire career.
SPEAKER_01And I think the thing to point out here is I mean, generational back. You look at his stats in college, I mean, he's he's had everything you've wanted or a wet dream for a GM when it comes to a running back. Awful scheme. Yeah. And no durability. I mean, no offensive line. That guy's getting hit 300 times a year and getting lit up. In that scheme, I mean, wow. Yeah. Special player.
SPEAKER_03I mean, shout out to Hard Knocks for getting those conversations the Giants were having to take. I mean, that was incredible. Because it's kind of like So when they fire that GM, they can just play the video. I mean, what an indictment. It's like, hey, listen, say, Quander, we love you, but uh, you know, I'm hearing Philly's out. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So let's let me know.
SPEAKER_02Chicago's in the mix. No, Chicago's already signed DeAndre Swift, you idiot.
SPEAKER_03Let's let him go to a division rival and destroy us. Well, if Phil's looking for a new role, GM in the New York Giants. Yeah. I mean, what else has been happening? Honestly, I've not been paying that much attention.
SPEAKER_02You know, Jake made that trade that makes no sense to me. How's Justin Tucker been doing? Not great.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Not great. Not great, Bob.
SPEAKER_06Not great. I mean, he he definitely is susceptible. If Saquon's not putting up 40 regularly, you know.
SPEAKER_02I mean, he's he's he's very he traded Calvin Ridley and Kyle Pitts for Justin Tucker and Dallas Goddard. How's Goddard doing?
SPEAKER_03I mean, he's pretty middling. He's doing like a tight end that you could pick up off the waiver wire. I mean, the thing I want to talk about is Zach. So we made fun of Zach's team early in the season. He had no running back. He picked up Tyrone Tracy, who's been great, really, really solid for him. And then the Joe Burrow Jamar Chase stack has just fucking won him weeks. Like those two singularly have won him four or five games.
SPEAKER_02And don't forget, I mean, Darnell Mooney has come on. Ninth round pick. He's been strong. Hurt now, though. So he is.
SPEAKER_03What do you say that we set up for the week 12 results? Yep.
SPEAKER_02Let's do it. Where do we want to start? Should we start with Let's just start with ours and get it out of the fucking way. Okay. I'll let you talk about it. Yeah. You know what? No timer today. You can talk about this matchup as long as you need as you need.
SPEAKER_03Let's go. This is my fifth loss in a row. Not good, guys. Not good. I ran up against a buzzsaw. I mean, Quincy scores 125 points. Josh Jacobs feels like scoring some touchdowns this week. That's great. Hadn't scored it all goddamn year and scores three touchdowns in this one. Terry McLaurin catches an 80-yard touchdown bombing overtime. Has 18 points. He's still alive. Cooper Cup has just been really solid for you. And I just, I mean, I just didn't have anything. I just didn't have anything.
SPEAKER_06Well, your your your running back situation's really starting to continue to hurt you. And now J.K. Dobbins is dead.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Is he dead for sure? Do we know that? R.A.P. Yeah. Well, it's a good thing I got Amir Abdullah. You know, that was a nice pickup. I got I grabbed him on Sunday morning in my league. I mean, he he turned out okay. Honestly, what did what uh just killed my season was when I traded for Nico and he got hurt that week.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Just want to hop in here real quick. We had a conversation.
SPEAKER_03I won't let you finish, but we did have a conversation.
SPEAKER_01We had a conversation offline and we're talking about before I made the trade. Before the trade, he reaches out to me, what do you think of Brian Thomas Jr.? And I said, Hold him, do not give this guy up. He's a special player. Oh no, Nico Collins is this, Nico Collins is that. What happens when you bite the hen that feeds you? You get bit yourself. Yeah. He brought on himself out.
SPEAKER_03And it wasn't just that Nico got put on IR, but he then missed a fifth week. And then, like, even when he came back, it was like splitting time. He was like on a snap count.
SPEAKER_01And I think for this one, you have to wonder is CJ Stroud what what is his actual ceiling here? Because that offensive line is fucking terrible, and we need to address that. I want to talk about the AFC South later because it's a dreadful division. But what is CJ Stroud's real actual ceiling here? And how bad is that fucking team? Because if that offensive line doesn't get fixed in the next year or two, that whole team is going down because he's taking too many hits right now.
SPEAKER_03So Kyle has CJ Stroud on his team. How do you feel about him? Uh well, did you see who I started this week? Anthony Richardson.
SPEAKER_02Ouch. I think there's two things that I want to point out that have been a disaster for your season. And I know you're going to push back aggressively on one of these things. Okay. But so I'm going to say that one second. First, I think we're at a point in this league where trading volume for higher-end talent is not the best move because you don't have backfill opportunity on waiver wire as often. That's true. So I think that's harder to do. Yeah. Especially knowing that your running back situation might have been a short-term situation and you still traded away David Montgomery without much depth, right? So that that's one. I think that was a problem. Secondly, and this is where you're going to fight me, Marvin Harrison Jr. at 110.
SPEAKER_03It's been a miss. Yeah. Yeah. And I don't know that. I mean, I don't know that. And you probably can't afford there's not a better pick there, though. It's a Chris Olave. I think Drake and Drake Lynn would have been the move. Has he been doing anything lately? I haven't been watching. Better than Marvin Harrison. Miles would care about this if he cared about football. Yeah, that's just that is true. It doesn't matter anymore. Yeah, I mean, honestly, what are we even doing here? Well, why are we even on this?
SPEAKER_06The other thing is Connor's in town because Connor to bring him back.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it did. I think Connor just wanted to be a part of it. We went to the Lions game on Sunday. Tim, you were at the Lions game. I mean, if if Chris Ballard doesn't get fired from the Colts, I mean, that the half of the fourth quarter, it was legitimately all there were 30,000 Lions fans.
SPEAKER_02Do you think that your slander of DeFlow is a curse on your team?
SPEAKER_03No, I think I don't think the Colts are ever going to get better until that guy dies. Nope.
SPEAKER_02I think your your verbal abuse of DeFlo is the reason your team is struggling. It's kind of like the we brought it to your attention probably when your slide began. That's true.
SPEAKER_03Maybe why don't you apologize? Do you want to do a public apology?
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_03No, I hate that kid. It's goddamn retard.
SPEAKER_02Is there anything else you want to say about our matchup? I'm I'm patient.
SPEAKER_03No, I I do think you have uh I would I think the strongest team in the league. And I don't know how you've been able to, with a Cooper Cup, an Aaron Jones, a Josh Jacobs, a Lamar Jackson, who are guys who perennially get injured. I don't know how you have been able to keep them healthy. Prayer. Yeah. It's a powerful thing.
SPEAKER_02All right, right to bear arms, laces out. Scotty, big victory, 115 to 96. He's now 5-7. Right to bear arms, 4-8. This was kind of the death blow to Kendall's playoff chances. Um, fairly close. You know, you kind of look out of it. AJ Brown had a had a nice game, but really, man, this wasn't necessarily the difference.
SPEAKER_03But 115. That's good points out of Scott. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06If he put in uh Stafford or Goff.
SPEAKER_03Dude, here's the big thing. We talked about him being maybe not a great roster, but he picked up Westbrook Akenay, who all that fucking guy does is score touchdowns. He has what six of seven weeks scoring touchdowns? Um, something like that. And then Hawkinson comes off of an ACL tear and is just look fantastic. Gets uh almost 15 points.
SPEAKER_02Maybe you guys disagree. The Tillman over Keenan Allen move surprised me a little bit. Awfully close to costing him a win.
SPEAKER_06I I don't I mean I don't agree with that. I think it's easy to say when he got injured like halfway through.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I mean, Keenan Allen up to that point had been scoring five, six points a week. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06There's way more upside with Tillman.
SPEAKER_02And Scotty puts up 115 with not a lot of production. I mean, look, Derek Henry had 140 yards rushing, but only 14 points total. Yeah, that's what's crazy.
SPEAKER_03What a an insanely good game, and he has 14 points. Wow. Smith and Jigba has been. So high very solid for him. I mean, JSN is the number 10 wide receiver on the season. Wow. How fucking crazy is that?
SPEAKER_06I mean, it helped when DK was out for their bot. Three weeks, four weeks, something like that. That is that's just nuts.
SPEAKER_02And West and um Westbrook, whatever his name, who's Tennessee's receiver? A Kinay. And Kinay. He went to I.U. Shouldn't you fucking know this? I'm I just became a fan of Twitter. IU fans are just learning what football. Four out of five weeks of double digit points.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, touchdowns.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_04All that guy does is score touchdowns. Nobody wanted him.
SPEAKER_02Uh big data loses a heartbreaker to Team Beamer. I'm not what I'm trying to figure out is whether this was intentional or not. I I Intentional. No. So let me explain. Let me put my tinfoil hat on for a second. So he loses 93.5 to 93.2. This is who was left on his bench. Kyler Murray. Okay. Bucky Irving. Tony Tony Pollard, who's had a strong ear, DeAndre Hopkins, and Jalen Waddell in their place. Juwan Jennings, Josh Downs, Josh Downs, Justin Herbert versus a Baltimore defense. So my conspiracy is he's been running a lot of analytics over seating in the playoffs. Yeah. And decided.
SPEAKER_04I guarantee he's been doing that.
SPEAKER_02Maybe being the number one or number two seed is not the best position.
SPEAKER_03Hurts him, moves his seating down, but also moves Corbin's seating up. Yep. And he knows, hey, if I face Corbin in the playoffs, easy win. Maybe a 3-6 matchup. Yeah. That's however, what I will say is sometimes when you over-manipulate, as we've seen with the Democrats over the last several years, it actually backfires in your face. And we know the fantasy gods do not take likely lightly when you um manipulate the system. So I disagree with this analysis. Of course you do. Yeah, because you're a liberal shell.
SPEAKER_06No, okay. Okay. Okay. Hold on a minute. Hold on a minute, Mr. Hodge. Can you tell me what Josh Jones' ranking is for wide receiver on the year? I mean, I can look at it. You want me to look at it? Okay, no, no, no, don't look at it. Who would you say is higher?
SPEAKER_03Is Waddle or Downs? Um, well, Waddle didn't have Tua for several, several years.
SPEAKER_06I don't give a shit. I don't give a shit. No, I tell you that matters. Okay, fine. Even over the last two weeks, who would have been the better wide receiver? Since Tua's been back? Three weeks, actually. Waddle? No. Downs. Downs is number 22 on the season.
SPEAKER_03Okay. Then what's the justification for Hopkins? Hopkins is now on the Chiefs, which you know he's probably going to catch a touchdown every week.
SPEAKER_06Okay, so Jennings' last two games, 12, 20, and 6.
SPEAKER_03Look, on Hopkins. Okay, then what is the justification for not starting Kyler Murray?
SPEAKER_06For I didn't see that. Who did he start over that? Herbert?
SPEAKER_03Herbert.
SPEAKER_06Herbert. I don't know on that one. Maybe he was thinking divisional matchups.
SPEAKER_02Look, I'm not saying he he completely laid down, but I think he can't. But you say that more than 50 intelligence officials are trying to say that.
SPEAKER_03I'm going to lose this argument. I would say at least 51 intelligence officials.
SPEAKER_06I'm going to lose this argument no matter what because he can say that.
SPEAKER_03Kyle's got 51 intelligence officials who are saying that he started a totally fair roster. I wouldn't say fair. I just said logically. The Russians probably started their roster for him. Hey, honestly, honestly, he can still win if Mike Pence has the courage. Okay. So but Corbett gets another close win because he beat me, what, two weeks ago? Um by by two points. I mean, this team is dog shit. Yeah. It's so bad. You know what they say? Winning's winning. Yeah. I mean, Jameer Gibbs had a really good week because he did have it without Adams in.
SPEAKER_04Well, because uh, any real race.
SPEAKER_03It don't matter if you're gonna be able to get it. Well, David Montgomery got hurt, and then they just gives the rest of the game. And then Mahomes actually came out and had his what best game of the year? 28 points.
SPEAKER_02His starting receivers, Elijah Moore, Christian Watson, Jamison Williams. I mean, kind of says it all. Patrick Mahomes had a nice week, 28 points. Let's go to uh Pete's matchup. Pete loses to fill in holes, 83 to 76. They're both four and eight now. Fewer holes to fill. Fewer holes to fill.
SPEAKER_03Christian McCaffrey, 6.3 points.
SPEAKER_02This is three wins in a row for Phil. Congrats, Phil.
SPEAKER_06Which I think, if I remember correctly, Phil probably early on was thinking, oh God, because Bryant Robinson went down really early. And, you know, Pete still had Christian McCaffrey to play. He obviously had uh well Sutton, I think he was the later game, put up twenty five. But um if I remember correctly, it was looking like Pete had a pretty solid win in place.
SPEAKER_03Um People forget Cortland Sutton, 26 points. He's the wide receiver nine on the season.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, he's in the last like He's been so great recently. I mean, the tough thing for Pete, this is a this is a tough break. You're playing Phil, obviously he's been a weak team this season on a week where Bichon's on by, Kyle Pitts is on by, Amari Cooper's on by. So you get a weak roster with not a bunch of talent to back Phil.
SPEAKER_03Plays plays likely gets zero points.
SPEAKER_02It's zero. Uh Pierce, four and a half. You know, Pickens has just been up and down. You know, I think everyone knows my opinion about George Pickens. He's a he's a cancer. I mean, I think I like his tenaciousness, but he doesn't know how to harness it. Pete or sorry, Pete Phil has uh Brian Robinson go down, does come back into the game, but doesn't even finish with three points. So that these teams are going to be interesting to watch over the next couple weeks.
SPEAKER_03Well, Phil has now won um in week 10 he won with 70 points, and he won in week 12 with 83 points. So Waters kind of finding its level there. Like he's getting some wins he probably shouldn't have, where he got some losses early in the season he probably shouldn't have.
SPEAKER_02Jake Adams peels off another victory. 132. I believe that was high points for the week. 132 to 86 IUI doc. Big game by Jaden Daniels, but doesn't get any help from anyone else. CeeDee Lamb, underwhelming performance. Jaden Reed has come down to earth a lot. He has. Well, Green Bay, I mean, Jordan Love hasn't looked great. They've not been throwing the ball quite as much. Um, and this past week against San Francisco. I mean, Josh Jacobs rushed for three touchdowns.
SPEAKER_03So he started two tight ends this week. You're not gonna win many matchups when you start two tight ends.
SPEAKER_02He started in Joku and Ertz. I'll tell you, the waiver wire has been a wasteland year. Absolutely. Just a wasteland.
SPEAKER_06Did you see Turpin 179 kick return yards? That's where he got all those points.
SPEAKER_03Scored 14 points on camera. That's why we've got to change this. We have to change that in the future. We added kick and punt return yards a couple years ago, and it just it makes no sense. But there's very few players that are actually doing Yeah, but uh a guy like Turpin, who is a non-factor in the game, won't even remember his fucking name, is scoring 14 points in a fantasy league like ours where you're just scratching to try to get a guy to score 10.
SPEAKER_06So we should just like also cancel Hill as well, because it's unfair how many positions he plays. Look at you talking about canceling people. That's what I'm asking. It sounds like he's flipping right now. No, I'm saying that's what it sounds like you're doing.
SPEAKER_02So on to Jake. Well, yeah. So for Jake, Saquon. Before we talk about Saquon, because that's the obvious, let's give credit where credit is due for Jake and his managerial skills. Gets put in a bind at the quarterback position. Brock Purdy ruled out late in the week. He's got Aaron Rodgers on by, which probably benefited him because Jake probably would have started Aaron Rodgers if he wasn't on by. Uses Caleb Williams. Caleb Williams has a great week. 27 points. I mean, good on Jake. And he stacks it with DJ Moore at 23 and a half. So he gets 50 points out of his quarterback and receiver out of Chicago. Big week there. Chuba Hubbard has a nice game, 14 and a half. Again, Chuba Hubbard has been is that the best pick of the year in terms of like value?
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Uh ninth round? Easily. No. Ninth round we thought he's the number 11 runner. We thought after five weeks Chuba Hubbard was going to be unplayable because that rookie of theirs was going to come in. Yeah. Hasn't happened.
SPEAKER_02This is certainly in contention for best draft pick for value. This is biased, but I mean my Brock Bowers pick in the seventh round positionally too.
SPEAKER_03It's a rookie. Sure, sure. But I mean, Chuba Hubbard, he's going to lead the league in receptions. Correct. As a rookie tight end. Well, okay. Yeah, but like I you could in a receivers. There is a world where you sit where you see that. Anyone who said Chuba Hubbard was going to be a top 10 running back on the year, you would have been like, absolutely no way.
SPEAKER_06But see, it's also probably not, it's like it's relative, right? So like Chuba Hubbard being number 11 in running back is a lot more points than probably Bowers being a number five or number two tied in.
SPEAKER_03Most likely we'd have to look at it. But then, okay, Saquon in the last two weeks, 44 and 33. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I mean that's that'll get it all out of your system now before the playoffs. That'll win you that'll win you a championship. Bray Nabbitt big victory, moved to seven and five. Tough matchup against SCLC Mud Dogs. Uh 114 to 76. Maxwell's now 8-4. Locked into a playoff spot. What happened to Maxwell this week? 76 points. Mixon didn't do anything. Justin Jefferson had a horrible week. Three and a half points. It doesn't. I mean, Kyron Williams has 11. But Braden started Tommy DeVito as a quarterback. Is this the first person? Because a fantasy woman with Tommy DeVito is quarterback. It might be. Hey, in this house, Christopher Columbus is a hero. Christopher Columbus is a hero.
SPEAKER_03I'm just looking forward to that Thanksgiving Day matchup. Cooper Rush, Tommy DeVito.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. It was nice to see Nick Chubb have a big game. Two touchdowns. 18 and a half points. Pittman actually had a good game.
SPEAKER_03Did he have 12 and 12?
SPEAKER_02Did he leave the game injured? No.
SPEAKER_03He left for a little bit, but he came back.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_06He's kind of in a weird situation because he's he's so weak. Well, I guess he had a lot of guys on by too.
SPEAKER_03I will say we haven't talked about, I mean, we have barely, we've barely talked about this. George Kittle is the number one tight end of the year, and he has missed two weeks. Yeah. And also Mark Andrews that you gave away. Any week that he plays, he is scoring points. I mean, he has 17 in this one. That's absolutely unfortunate.
SPEAKER_02Well, particularly, I mean, Brandon Ayuk is is done. Debo's not done anything. Is this Nick Chubb time?
SPEAKER_03Maybe.
SPEAKER_0618 and a half. That was kind of a weird. I mean, you know, that was a weird game though, too.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, if he's getting if he's getting 20 carry carries. I mean, 20 carries, two touchdowns, that is icing on the cake for Braden to get Chubb back in there.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Again, we've talked about this throughout the podcast this year. Braden's got some depth. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03In a week where Braden uh has London, Higgins, Brian Thomas, and Josh Allen on a bye, he gets a win with 114 points. Yeah. Yeah. That's awesome.
SPEAKER_02Don't look now. Dangerous team. Final matchup of week 12. Uh, whiskey with an eye, tango foxtrot with Chase and TDs. Nice. It's the 54. That's got to feel good. I mean, this is like watching Jaguars Titans on Thursday Night Football. Just garbage. No one wants to watch this. Terrible.
SPEAKER_03The last three weeks, Kyle's put up 57, 59, and 70 points.
SPEAKER_06So I'm just going to say it right now. Outside of a Christmas miracle, whiskey with an eye, we are, this will be the last season with this team name. And we are going to change the channel all the time. Are you going to add an H? I went two consecutive years with this. Are you going to add an H? Whiskey with an H.
SPEAKER_02I've got actually. I guess that's okay to do when you never win titles. Oh. Alright, so do you have some ideas? What are you going to go with?
SPEAKER_03Are you going to let Kisha draft next year? I'm not going to let her draft. You said you're changing front offices. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Well, but that doesn't matter. Well, I'm still the owner.
SPEAKER_01I don't want to spread. Fake news is a dem. I know he's a big fan of it. I don't want to spread it. Not a big fan of it. Never have been. But I do want to say some people are saying Connor Dubay might be taking over a team next season. Maybe this isn't the time and place to put it out there, but a lot of people are kind of putting that out there. So just playing the scene.
SPEAKER_03Connor's in the market for some property. Connor, I haven't told you this. You have to own property in Carroll County, but I'm sure Courtney will buy you something. Just taking a lovely house over in Fletcher place. This is the moment where Connor knew what county he was in.
SPEAKER_02I'll tell you. This is like Matt Gates being nominated for attorney general.
SPEAKER_03So we're gonna go through the processes. Who does the podcast? And I was like, well, Tim and Quincy, obviously. And Kyle, I was like, do you remember him from the wedding? He's like, yeah, Kyle with a hot wife.
SPEAKER_01Like, there you go. Can confirm Kyle, really nice guy, and is hot. His wife, they're hot. No disrespect. I'm just gonna go. Shout out to indication.
SPEAKER_06Shout out to Kissha. Well, you're not the Connor, just enough. You're not the first one to uh to address that because Braden uh everyone remembers how it was when he commented on her sweater pump and his flunkers.
SPEAKER_03Actually, at the end of this podcast, Connor's going to go through and explain whose wives are ranked the highest. It's gonna be great. He's already been through everyone's Instagrams. He's been through everyone's Instagrams. He's called them a whole thing. Let's uh So alright, Kyle, I will ask you Kyle, I will ask you this question. So you would you were questioning me at the beginning of the season when I was kept starting Anthony Richardson. And you were like, how much longer are you gonna start Anthony Richardson over Baker? Well, now you have started Anthony Richardson.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, because I have no other option. So what do you do?
SPEAKER_03CJ Stroud is what do you do? What do you do moving forward?
SPEAKER_06Uh from like a keeper standpoint, or are you saying who are you starting?
SPEAKER_03I I mean you I guess I'm starting you can't start either of them in week 14.
SPEAKER_06This team is this team is so desperate that at least Richardson has some upside. Stroud has showed no he's been without his best wide receiver for half a year. It doesn't matter. Like he had his best wide receiver last week and he still sucked.
SPEAKER_03What I think is interesting about Anthony Richardson you watch him play and he does have flashes of greatness. He has it. Yeah. Yeah. Which is it's frustrating to watch. That game was not on him. No. Well, I don't know. Like it is and it isn't because he's not good enough to play in the NFL today. But he is a very, very raw talent. And I don't know if they're going to hone that into a real NFL. They have zero leadership. How are they going to hone that?
SPEAKER_02Right. People are asking whether Miles is maybe the Chris Ballard equivalent of the CCPL. Okay. I mean, no, let me finish this stock. So you've you've you've dropped Anthony Richardson, maybe short-sighted, maybe not. You traded away Mark Andrews for nothing, less than peanuts, and you made this Brian Thomas David Montgomery move for Nico. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03I mean, not a good year for Miles Hodge. At least I'm making moves. You know what Chris Ballard does? He says, I like our guys, and he rolls into the season and wins seven fucking games year after year.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_03But I mean, when's the last time you're in the title game? I'm making moves. I'm making moves. Okay. The only title game I've ever been in on the game.
SPEAKER_06I just want to follow up. Anthony Richardson, 14.3 points per game, and Stroud has like 14.5. And Anthony Richardson sat out how many games? Two. Yeah. So that's why I'm just I'm just looking at the upside. Yeah, you can't get it. So I get it. Otherwise, my team sucks with a bag of hot dogs.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I mean, it was a great week to face Owen because he's been relying on um Jamar Chase and Joe Burrow all season, and he didn't have them this week.
SPEAKER_06So I caught him on a very good bye week. Yeah. So, yep. You take your victory.
SPEAKER_02I think it's time for some power rankings. We've all we've all missed these. Coming in at 14 in the power rankings. Fill in holes. He's won three in a row. Points for still not in a great spot. Fewer holes to fill. Fewer holes to fill. At 14 is fill. At 13, the commissioner, Kyle, coming in at 13. At 12, Pete Crowd, 4-8. Just over a thousand points for kind of low on the on the PF side. At 11, Kendall Ross, right to bear arms. At 10, with 1,122 points for Miles Hodge. What was that? 11th? 10. 10. Yeah, I agree. At nine, four and eight. Almost 1200 points for one of the stronger points for with the four and eight record. IUI Doc, Cameron Norman. At eight, the we've we've now crossed the threshold into the playoff teams potentially. This team is locked into a playoff spot, but it's still eighth in the power rankings at 8-4. Team Beamer. I mean, like I said earlier in the podcast, you sort it out by points four. He is the 12th team in the league. Wins are wins. At seven, a six and six team. Zach Owen. Chasing TDs. At six, twelve hundred points four. Still sitting on $56 a fab. Scotty Allen at six.
SPEAKER_03Unbelievable. You know, it gets interest if you leave it there. I heard. I heard he moves over to Bitcoin. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I think we should let you arbitrage in the future. At five. Seven and five. Over 1200 points for Brayden Abbott. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03You'd think he would be higher, but he's not.
SPEAKER_02I mean this is probably the sweet spot right now, but he's gonna be a scary guy because he's a four-five speed.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_02At four on a win streak, who's eight and four Jake Adams. That's some movement for him. At three, who's been number one in the power rankings for quite a while this season. Uh coming off of a loss, he's now eight and four. His uh his foot's no longer on the throat of the league. Ryan Maxwell.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, you know, a lot's changed since we've done this last year. Seems to be coming down to earth a little bit.
SPEAKER_02At two. Eight and four. His points for are a little bit lower than some of the stronger teams, actually. He's at 1165. Big data. Deep team. Yeah, very deep. I mean, it's a scary team. I think Cody is probably one of the strongest teams in the playoffs. Yeah. So what happens when he shows up to the draft? Number one.
SPEAKER_08Kyle does it draft for you.
SPEAKER_02At number one with six wins in a row, eight consecutive weeks scoring over 100 points. Are you in on your team now? 1,344 points for Camaris Kids. Are you in on them now? I've got no depth. If I get a key injury, I'm I'm weakened significantly. I do like that every week, three guys just pop off. Yeah. And they just kind of rotate who that big guy is.
SPEAKER_03And again, it's huge. We've talked about this. It's huge to just have be able to have a guy who at tight end who gives you production. Yeah. Period.
SPEAKER_02I mean, the amount of targets he's getting, it's like 14, 16, 10, week over week. And Lamar Jackson is probably the leading candidate for MVP right now.
unknownI don't know.
SPEAKER_03I haven't watched it.
SPEAKER_02It's it's Lamar or Saquon right now for MVP. They know what we're doing. So those are the do we call those the week 13 power rankings? Or are those the week 12 power rankings?
SPEAKER_0313. 13. We are on to week rank. Week 13 power rankings.
SPEAKER_02We're on to week 13. Okay.
SPEAKER_03Let's uh I agree.
SPEAKER_04I really I I basically agree with all of those. Yeah. It's pretty good.
SPEAKER_03Well, it it's also there really are you were saying this, was this before we got on? There really are haves and have nots in our league, though. I still think I mean you look at a Cody, you look at an Abbott, um, you look at your team, Kyle or Quincy, like those are very good teams, top to bottom. You've got solid depth, and then you've got the rest of us who are like, hey, can I throw in a fucking punt returner this week and get some get some points?
SPEAKER_02I think it is unprecedented where we stand right now with five, eight, and four teams. Typically, this point of the year, there's a bunch of six and six teams, five and seven, seven and six. It's very clustered in the middle. Maybe two teams are up top and a team or two's down low. So what is our picture right now? As it stands today, this is what the playoffs would be. Your one seed would be Cromartie's kids playing number eight seed, Scotty Allen. Your number two seed, Ryan Maxwell playing Zach Owen and the seventh seed.
SPEAKER_04Those opposite are you guys in the opposite division? Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Okay, yeah. Um so I'll go back to the top of the bracket. One vs eight, that's me and Scotty. Three versus six. Is that right? Three versus six is Cody vs. Beamer. Four vs. Jake and Brayden. Two and seven is Ryan and Zach.
SPEAKER_03Okay. But we could see a lot of movement there. I think we will.
SPEAKER_02I mean, look, I've got a I've got a very tough matchup this week against Cody.
SPEAKER_03Well, who's the last, who's the eighth guy in? I think one through seven's pretty solid, right?
SPEAKER_06You think Zach is No, I I think seven and eight are completely up for grabs right now. As of right now. You have um you have one, two.
SPEAKER_03But Zach's points four are okay. It's 1154.
SPEAKER_06I know, but he's six and six. That's still two losses.
SPEAKER_02He has 80 more points than Kendall or Pete. The only four-and-eight team that is c that is close to him or above him is Cameron. So Cameron is the only real 4-8 threat to him. You're not a threat. You're 140 back. Scotty is above him. And Miles is right in the mix, down like 30 points to him. I think I think Zach is about, you know, he's probably at like 90% probability of making the playoffs. Yeah. So you almost consider him a lock. I think you're really only talking about the A seed. I really do. Two weeks to go.
SPEAKER_03So if you're saying today, who do you think makes it?
SPEAKER_06I mean, but he has he has a tough schedule.
SPEAKER_03What's Scotty have? Well, well, no, never.
SPEAKER_06Never mind. Owen's gonna split. So you're probably right on that. Okay, I'm gonna agree with Owen.
SPEAKER_03So Owen to finish the year, his his schedule is Braden Abbott, and then D. You say he goes one and one.
SPEAKER_06Okay. That's what I would say.
SPEAKER_03Look, I think Zach is Zach is in. I think we're debating the eighth spot. Scotty to finish the year has uh Jake and Whiskey Tango Foxtrot. Yeah, that could be two wins, honestly.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I mean he he's got a pretty nice path. You're in trouble with big data in the final week. Yeah. Because you've got to win both. Yeah. You've got to win both. I mean, you can certainly beat Pete in week 13.
SPEAKER_03I think um IUI Doc, even though it's a good one. See, here's the thing though, I think a six and eight team gets the eight seed.
SPEAKER_02I do too. I I agree with that. I just don't think I think the four and eight teams, even though they're not they're not statistically eliminated, I think practically they are eliminated. A five and seven team is the only Well Cameron's four and eight. That's what I'm saying. I I just he's got Braden to finish the year, and this coming week he's got Kyle. He could do it, but he needs a lot of I mean, he does not control his own destiny, let me put it that way. Yeah. He's got it much harder.
SPEAKER_03He could get I think he can get to six, though. I really do. It it just all depends on how the That'd be wild because last year, we always thought seven is what you need to get to, but the last two years, if this plays out, six will get you.
SPEAKER_06It also depends on like who you're playing, you know. So these five and seven teams, are they playing, you know, like for instance, like him playing Brayden, he could easily lose it, but also Brayden losing doesn't affect anything, right? So like that's how all those like kind of matter in some of these cases.
SPEAKER_03Pete plays me and Kindle. Those are wins. Those are winnable games. Who's Kendall play? He plays Pete and who else? Pete's problem is he may not he probably won't have the points for. Kindle plays Phil and Pete. Those are winnable. It's a while, it's a shooting. No, it's it's a win. Who's gonna be last place?
SPEAKER_06Well, we could be seeing the last place being played for this week, potentially.
SPEAKER_02Kindle versus Phil? Yeah. Well, that's an interesting segue. Do you guys want to go through Let's Let's do week 13 matchups. Doesn't that music just give you the chills? Week 13. Let's start with. We'll start with my matchup. Cromartie's kids versus Big Data. Two teams that are eight and four. We could potentially be looking at a championship game. Yeah. I'll be very curious to see what Cody does with the starting lineup. I am at full health as it stands today. Love the lineup.
SPEAKER_03Neither one of you have any guys on bye. You've got no guys injured.
SPEAKER_02I mean, well, you've got Dobbs, but yeah, and I've got Eckler and Dobbs both in concussion protocol. Okay. We'll get we'll get them. Right, I'm not worried about it, but uh I don't need to worry about him playing this week. I think this is really close. Uh Miles, you're the one who always starts, so I'll I'll uh I'll let you go.
SPEAKER_03Josh Downs looked like he's gonna be out for a little while, so that helps him figure out who he's gonna play, who he's not gonna play. I think I like your matchups better though. So I'm gonna go with you.
SPEAKER_02I think the Philadelphia matchups are tough. Um Philadelphia secondary has shut down the top receivers most of the year. Don't love that for Zay Flowers. Um the Terry McLaurin thing has been really weird. Uh over the past like three or four weeks, uh Noah Brown, Zach Ertz have all out-targeted Terry McLaren. They're basically using him as a downfield threat only. Um I like the running back matchups, but I'm gonna pick Cody. I just kind of be a contrarian against myself. I'm going Cody. Uh I've got Cody. Gimme Quincy. Next matchup. Right to bear arms versus filling holes. We were just talking about it. Or what are we doing?
SPEAKER_06Right? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Let's find it. We're a little rusty here. Where's that text at? I got it. Um I think he had Quincy. Right? Yeah, it was week 13.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, my quarterback, Quincy. Okay. Right to bear arms versus filling holes. Um I gotta go right to bear arms. I mean, Phil's been on a nice little run here, but force straight for a team like this, I don't know. I don't think you can do it.
SPEAKER_02I'm going Phil. I think we're gonna see Kendall cleaning ditches. I do. You know, he throws his trash away at Kyle's, so. Borrows my trailer. I just I just think this would be so apropos for Kendall. And the bad luck apropos. What a word. You want that word a day toilet paper or what? I just can absolutely see Kendall finishing in last place. Give me Phil. Is he ripping the sleeves off of his shirt as he listened to this?
SPEAKER_06Uh, I got Phil too. I think Tyree Kill's due for a big day. Yeah. Give me Phil. Uh the quarter had Kendall.
SPEAKER_02I hope Connor can witness a consensus quake. Alright. MAGA. MAGA versus Subpar.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I'm gonna go Subpar. Um this team is just uh It's disappointing. I've swung and I've missed. You know, here's the real deal. I um here's the deal. I have I have on my bench just stacked as many backup running backs as I can all season. And it like none of it hasn't worked out. Yeah, it's like playing a slot machine. Yeah, and I've been going, I I mean you might as well, right? Just try to hit the lottery, and none of it has been happening. Like, injuries have just not been happening this season, other than like she Rasheed Rice and guys that I have.
SPEAKER_02I really wanted to pick up uh Yeah, I I really, really wanted to pick you, but with Bijan back coming off of a bye, Christian McCaffrey, although playing Buffalo, um I'm gonna go subpar. I got Pete. Producer Tim.
SPEAKER_03Oh it's not a consensus, right? It's not Pete. And we haven't even and we haven't even had the fucking quarter. The quarter doesn't count.
SPEAKER_02Uh oh. The quarter doesn't count. In my head, I was picking Pete. I'm picking my You Oh no, I pick Pete! I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_06This is consensus.
SPEAKER_03I'm so sorry. Look how I'm paying attention now. Because I was like, listen, listen, I'm just gonna produce Tim's production quality. If my season rests on a consensus quake, I'll take that every day of the week.
SPEAKER_02I can't tell you how bad we've got to be.
SPEAKER_03We've been about one week. The first one we've had in three weeks. Maybe we'll have another. Connor will never get his first consensus quake again. He ruined it.
SPEAKER_02Maybe we'll get another one. Maybe we'll get another one. Alright, next matchup, IUI Doc versus Whiskey Tango Foxtrot. IUI Doc. Yeah, IUI Doc.
SPEAKER_06I got Cameron.
SPEAKER_03I'm taking um whiskey tango. You're just doing that because Okay.
SPEAKER_02Okay. Next matchup. Ryan Maxwell. I think this might be it. Ryan Maxwell versus Team Beamer. Maxwell. He's at full strength this week. He is. And Justin Jefferson will bounce back. Joe Mixon's gonna bounce back against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Give me the mud dogs. West 2.0, gimme beamer.
SPEAKER_08What? Holy cow!
SPEAKER_03I was ready on the button. I'm taking Maxwell. And who'd the quarter half? Uh here. Who did the quarter half?
SPEAKER_02Quarter had Beamer. Beamer. Ah, look at that. Next matchup, Brayden Abbott. This is the year. 0.6. Chasin TDs. Who you got?
SPEAKER_03I'm gonna pick Chasin TDs here. He gets Joe Burrow back. He gets um Jamar Chase back in division. I feel like those guys just light their own division up for some reason, and then they can't beat anyone else. Um I'm gonna pick I'm gonna pick uh Zach.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that's kind of where I'm leaning to. Curious about what happens with Darnell Mooney. But obviously he's he's got his stack back with Chase and Burrow. Um Wilson's been a little bit of a disappointment. He's got Douglas in the starting lineup right now. See if that holds or if he makes a makes a move. Maybe Noah Brown goes into the lineup. Um don't know what's happening with David Montgomery. This is tough. I think this could be really competitive. Don't you have this answer wrote down? I'm gonna go Brighton. I'm just giving a little analysis. Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_06Well, you're so critiqueful.
SPEAKER_02You know what I'm saying? What was that word? Critique. Critiqueful.
SPEAKER_06Is that that's probably not a man critique sound right? It's a word in Kyle vocabulary.
SPEAKER_03I'd love to watch Kyle play a game of Scrabble.
SPEAKER_06Learn from the best, Kirk.
SPEAKER_03I'd probably I'd flip a board.
SPEAKER_06I've got Zach. Boy.
SPEAKER_02I picked the wrong sound effect. Oh, God, I messed it up. We know what Tim's doing.
SPEAKER_00What the heck? Here's the deal. I'm the best there is, plain and simple. I mean, I wake up in the morning I've kissed an excellence. He's got a job. And nobody can hang with myself. You know, I'm just a big hair American winning machine. You ain't first, you're last. That braid trademark machine.
SPEAKER_02Tim, Tim, how are you going to celebrate if Braden wins a title? As the only fan. Like, will you be climbing light posts in the street?
SPEAKER_03I just kind of envision that that uh Braden would take me out to a nice dinner and I'd read him a book or something. What? Come on. I want you guys throwing Moltoff cocktails at cars. I mean, Braden will probably get thrown out of a bar in Coke County. He'll never be allowed. There's three bars in Coke County, and he'll never be allowed back at one of them. What's the bar that we went to that has like an inside and an outside? The doghouse? Doghouse. The doghouse. Yeah. Maybe we'll maybe go to the dog, the doghouse. Have a few ice waters. The last time I talked to Braden, he was on some high horse about how the doghouse sucks. Okay. What other options are there? Just go to the other bar of the line. You can't come out with hard hard takes like that. Maybe because you don't have any other options. Maybe we'll go to fancy White County. I don't know. Hey, he just moved into his new house, so maybe you just burn that place down.
SPEAKER_02Final matchup of week 13. Jake from State Farm versus Lace is out. Zach.
SPEAKER_03Zach.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that one. Alright, who do you have in the final matchup, Miles? Jake versus Scotty. I'm gonna go with Jake. I need him to win, and I want him to win. I'm putting my faith in Laces out. I don't know why, just kind of a I've got a feeling. And it's with Scotty. Making Scotty to win week 13.
SPEAKER_06I've got Jake. Give me Jake.
SPEAKER_02Quarterhead Jake. Those are your week 13 picks. Let's talk about Thanksgiving. Oh, that's nice.
SPEAKER_03Special edition. Yeah. I think we've done this in the past where we've compared um teams to Thanksgiving editions. Yeah. Um, I've got some for this year. Um you guys can give me your feedback on whether you think this is uh accurate or not. Okay. Let's just start at the top. Quincy. I want to say he's ham. Do people have ham at Thanksgiving? Some people do. Yeah, some do. So here's the deal. I don't think any of us have looked at Quincy's team. Oh, even though I have, I don't think most people have seen Quincy's team as like this rock solid gray thing. But it is. Ham is fantastic. Quincy's a bit of a ham himself. And uh nice. Hardy. I mean, it'll fill you up. It's a good team. I mean, ham's ham's fucking strong. You know what's ironic about? Ham can go up against anybody and beat anybody.
SPEAKER_02Man. What's ironic is I hate ham. I do. How can you be from Carroll County and hate ham? I love bacon. Love a good pork loin. It doesn't count. I don't like ham. Why? I think it's the texture.
SPEAKER_03Call on the Indiana pork producer. You ever had good ham? Are you talking about deli ham? You talking about like both?
SPEAKER_02Like I'll eat a piece of ham. Just not my first choice. What's wrong with you? Give me turkey, brisket.
SPEAKER_03I don't know what's wrong with that. Okay, what else you got? Maxwell. We got another meat here. Maxwell is turkey. Just solid is the staple of what you expect of the league this year.
SPEAKER_06Is he like traditional oven-cooked turkey or is he deep-fried turkey? I think just traditional.
SPEAKER_03Traditional white meat, turkey, solid. But what I will say is in my opinion, I believe turkey's slightly overrated for Thanksgiving. I think all of the other side dishes overwhelm turkey. And people are like, yeah, I'll have a couple pieces of turkey, but I'm gonna have like a shitload of the fixins. You know, I like to swoop my turkey into my potatoes. Do a little combo bite.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_03And maybe some gravy. Because it makes it better. Maybe some gravy. Jake is mac and cheese. Um I thought of this earlier and I can't think of why.
SPEAKER_01But is it like macrony or is it?
SPEAKER_03Oh no, no. We're talking baked mac and cheese. Baked mac and cheese. Nobody does.
SPEAKER_04No, come on.
SPEAKER_03Baked mac and cheese because he's hardy as fuck and thick, just like Saquon Barkley's thighs. Okay. I like it. Okay. I don't he's a little cheesy. I have a little cheese. I have a controversial. Make some cheesy moves. But I think that the best version of macaroni and cheese is Velveeta shells and cheese. Dude! I love that stuff too. It is fucking delicious. Now, is Velveeta cheese?
SPEAKER_06I don't know. Have you made like homemade like mac and cheese?
SPEAKER_03Have you had Velveeta shells and cheese? It's so good. Dude, Alyssa makes a fucking machine. She makes a phenomenal mac and cheese. Does she use Velveeta? No, but I I freaking love. I think she does put Velveeta. She puts so many different cheeses in there. Yeah. Alyssa's known to love a good cheese. She made that last year for a couple years ago for something. I was like, good God. It was good. She she's got the good like Tipton County cookbook.
SPEAKER_01Popping in here. For a good mac and cheese, you need a couple cheeses in there. No need to be hero and just go one. Two or three, you got yourself. Baked well, that's a good fucking mac and cheese.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I like it. So that's what I'm saying with Jake. Like he's got two or three good, good hearty cheese pieces in there. Cheese guy.
SPEAKER_02I want to just sidebar just for a quick second as we're talking about all these great dishes for Thanksgiving. For a couple years now, I've really wanted to become a pie guy. Where like if I love pie. If I could be proficient in a cream pie guy? If I could be proficient in making a baked good, I want to be a pie guy. Kindle can tell if you.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02So I spent I spent like three hours on Sunday trying to make an apple pie. The filling I made was amazing. Delicious. Just so good. Spent this time on my on my pie crust. Why are you trying to become a good pie guy? I just think you can be good at you. No, I'm all about a pie. Pie is delicious. So I would start working on this crust a little too sticky, trying to add some flour, just getting angrier and angrier after spending all this time, couldn't get it to work, to a point where Anne was like, Why are you taking your pie anger out on me? I did nothing. I've not been involved in this situation. I didn't even want you to make this. Yeah. So I'm back to the drawing board on the crust. I gotta figure it out.
SPEAKER_03So what's are you still gonna stay a pie guy or are you gonna find a different thing to do? I'm not quitting. Okay.
SPEAKER_02I want to be a pie.
SPEAKER_06Is this the only thing that you cook? Hey. Like, is this just like a new fat? Is it a new hobby?
SPEAKER_03This is not just about Thanksgiving. I wanted to master this skill. So, Quincy, my sugar pie in Zionsville, they make other things other than that. I'm very aware. They have classes. You can go Oh, really? And they have literally the best crust on a pie I've ever felt ever. By far. Like times a thousand percent ever had. You know, I think a crust on a pie is important, but you know what's better than crust? The crumble on top.
SPEAKER_02Yes. Which was I I was going to do that.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I mean, that's that's well I like the lattice. I like the lattice.
SPEAKER_03See, it looks nice, but it doesn't taste as good as it's. Dude, my sugar pies look fucking so good. I didn't even think I was a pie guy until I had their pie. Man. You guys are weird. Dude, have you had it? No, I should have been. I'm just in a completely different place. Connor went and picked up a couple pies first today from Sun.
SPEAKER_01Okay. Go ahead. I'm getting the vibes. Liberal also hates pie. No! It's got a high wife though, so we'll get it comes with slack. But also, I just want to say I fell in love. I fell in love with a beautiful girl in the pie parking lot. Would have loved a pie her, but beautiful love girl. If I ever see her again, there's a good chance we do fall in love. I mean, I'm I'm tagging Kyle as probably like an angel food cake guy.
SPEAKER_06No, I was just gonna say, like, on Sunday, I was not baking meat pies, I was baking waffles so that I could like meal prep for my kids.
SPEAKER_03What's your dessert of choice? What's your dessert of choice, Kyle? For Thanksgiving.
SPEAKER_01Brare's French vanilla, you can see it inside. I think it is. Maybe I should ask that. I have no idea.
SPEAKER_06Okay.
SPEAKER_03I don't know.
SPEAKER_06I am I am solidly 100% pumpkin pie. Okay, I can respect that. There is there is no doubt I will eat the shit out of one of those. I'm not a big pumpkin pie guy.
SPEAKER_03I love pumpkin pie. I am a fruit pie person.
SPEAKER_02I I pumpkin pie's fine. Peccan pie is fine. But give me fruit pies. A little Cunningham special is actually butterscotch pie for Thanksgiving. That sounds good, butterscotch pie.
SPEAKER_06I think part of it too is because my birthday was always so close to Thanksgiving, so like pumpkin pie was just like that. Sometimes that was like the cake too.
SPEAKER_08Oh shit, we forgot Kyle's birthday.
SPEAKER_03Or can we put candles in real quick?
SPEAKER_08Alright, what else should we put on the list?
SPEAKER_03Cody is stuffing. The reason Cody is stuffing is stuffing's fucking good. And top to bottom, I mean it's just fucking thick. Yeah. And he has, you look at his roster, there's not a there is not a like hole in that thing. And his his depth, and he's basically made no fucking moves this season. Do you bake your stuffing inside the bird? You're not supposed to do that, right? You're not. No. According to the USDA. Yeah. Yeah. If we can trust them.
SPEAKER_06I actually I kind of disagree. I don't, I don't know. For I I could see him being like uh green bean casserole.
unknownWhat the fuck?
SPEAKER_02What is wrong with real colours? It's like great!
SPEAKER_03You know what's great about green bean casserole? Stuffing is awesome is the onions on top. Dude, some people would rather have stuffing than turkey. Like French onions. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm not a big stuffing guy. God, I'm not sure. I'm so ready for Thanksgiving. And hey, I'm a big Tony guy this year, huh? With stuffing. You guys gotta try this. He's beating you into submissions. Yeah. No, we're friends now. Yeah, because you're not a rival anymore. Yeah, I don't even care. She puts the stuffing in a muffin tin. So the stuffing comes out as little muffins. Oh and it's fantastic. Because after Thanksgiving, you've got like Ziploc bags full of these like mainly stuffing muffins. But then you've got mainly crust. I like this part. I like the moist inner part of the stuffing.
SPEAKER_02All right. I like it to kind of be spreadable where I can like mix my potatoes and corn.
SPEAKER_06Maybe I've had shitty just stuffing, but I think it's just like.
SPEAKER_03Alright, this might be controversial. Beamer is sweet potatoes. Okay. Everyone's like, oh, we'll have sweet potatoes. But actually, when you look at it, you're like, I don't want when you have it next to everything else, you're like, I don't want sweet potatoes at all. I would much rather have potatoes.
SPEAKER_02I think it very much depends on what type of sweet potato. How many mushrooms are on top or mushrooms? Marshmallows are on top. Yeah, so I'm not a marshmallow guy with my sweet potatoes. I know that's kind of the traditional move. I like them kind of diced. Some cinnamon, some brown sugar, but not the marshmallow.
SPEAKER_03I do remember the first time I had sweet potatoes was the year that Woody and I met each other. Um and um we had Thanksgiving together and they were like, hey, take the potatoes. And I was like, oh yeah, I fucking love mashed potatoes. Woody's like, I do too. Loaded up on sweet potatoes. They didn't have any mashed potatoes. What kind of family does that? And ate some of the sweet potatoes and was like literally getting ready to vomit because sweet potatoes and mashed potatoes are not the same thing. I gotta tell a wild story.
SPEAKER_02Ann and I recently engaged. We got engaged um like a week before Thanksgiving in 2013. So obviously I'd been to like Thanksgiving meals with the Mears family previously. They decided for some reason, instead of doing a traditional Thanksgiving meal at uh the Maxwell House, they wanted to do like a soup-themed Thanksgiving.
SPEAKER_03The wait, the Mearses did this?
SPEAKER_02Like this, the like Lisa and Evan. Oh, oh, that side. They wanted to do this. So we had like eight different soups. And I remember leaving that Thanksgiving, and I told A, I said, if we if this ever happens again, I will never come back. And she told Deb, and they laid down the law, it's never happened again. We're back to turkey and potatoes and rolls.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, but now you've got to go run a 5K at 8 a.m. Are you serious?
SPEAKER_02You guys are fun run people? Well, so her family started it 10 years ago. This is the 10th anniversary. They started a Carroll County too. It is it is the primary funding source for the Carroll County food pantry. I would happily send money.
SPEAKER_03Please don't make me You go run around a country mile. That's it? A mile? Oh, two and three miles? Whatever. Oh, it's a 5K. Okay. Kindle wins every year.
SPEAKER_01Is he really? Does Kendall win?
unknownAre you taking donations?
SPEAKER_01The real question is, are you taking donations? Where can we send in cans? Cash only. They don't want your cans.
SPEAKER_08They've got so much cans.
SPEAKER_03But Connor has a nice girl from the uh the place that he wants to donate. I think they've got so much canned beef they just can't handle any more cans.
SPEAKER_02I'll be honest, I think Maxwell may have beat Kendall last year.
SPEAKER_03This would be an interesting CCPL sort of contest. Who wins the, you know, uh Mears Family 5K?
SPEAKER_06No, the loser has to go run it.
SPEAKER_03Oh man. Oh, that's a good idea.
SPEAKER_06You have to drink, you have to drink while doing it. That's a great one.
SPEAKER_02I am drinking by 9 a.m. though. I think you do have to run the whole time. You can't walk though. Do you have a d is there a keg there? So what I do is I bring like an assortment of a bunch of different seasonal beers.
SPEAKER_06Oh wow, that sounds oddly familiar.
unknownWhat?
SPEAKER_06Well, you guys were giving shit to the commissioner for the city.
SPEAKER_03I'm not gonna win this argument, Kyle.
SPEAKER_02And then so we get back from the run, we're all in the barn and drink beer. Oh, and I said you know, Mr. Drink Guy. Kindle, Zach Owen, Ryan, a couple of the uncles. You know, it's it's a good time. It actually is a lot of fun. But we uh, you know, we typically end up with a quorum from the CCPL, so we might make some rules too. Do you guys provide free babysitting service? Just have the kids walk along the county road. They they're a safe area.
SPEAKER_03They push a uh they push a rack, of course, like the uh compete. Hey, fun fact the uh the route goes within uh about a hundred yards of uh where those bodies were found.
SPEAKER_08Oh god! Oh no.
SPEAKER_03So no. I don't know. You had to go there, didn't you? I mean you just had to. It's a fact. I don't know what else to say about it.
SPEAKER_02All right, let's get back on track. Back with your food comparisons. Jeez. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Um, Abbott, mashed potatoes. So we had sweet potatoes. Abbott is mashed potatoes. For me, that's the gold standard. You're giving Braden the mashed potatoes. I mean, Braden is a very, very good team. It is a very good team. It's tasty. And I think it's one of those things where like you go to Thanksgiving, and yeah, mashed potatoes is always like the second or third thing somebody says. And I think Abbott is the second or third team that could win this thing this year. Um, Owen. Man, I'm gonna say, I I was trying to figure this one out. Um Tim, great tunes. I'm gonna say green beans. Like the casserole or just the beans? Just the beans. Maybe some bacon in there. Okay. Because he's like, he's got like one ingredient to his team. Like that's all he's got. He's got burrow, he's got chase. That's the only thing that's worked with his team. And it's working.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_03I couldn't think of a better one where it was like, oh, it's only got two things, but it's actually okay.
SPEAKER_06Well, maybe in that case it'd be like a dinner roll. Like a good dinner roll.
SPEAKER_01Don't sleep on dinner rolls.
SPEAKER_03Like butter and and bread. Bread and butter.
SPEAKER_01Let me hop in here again, boys. Let me back Kyle up here. The fucking crucifixion of pumpkin pie here is outrageous and downright disgusting. For a Midwest town like this, it's fucking grotesque. Thank you. And the real question is, what are you putting on there? Whipped cream, cool whip, what's going on top? Yeah. Oh, whipped cream. Goaded. So Kyle's back. Kyle's back. Kyle's back, his hot wife has always been.
unknownKyle's fucking back.
SPEAKER_01And also, can we make bread great again? I mean, there's been these fucking health nuts been slandering the bread industry. It makes me fucking sick. Truthfully, I don't give a shit about much other than cold beer, hot women with big tits, and bread. And all I gotta say is, let's make bread a staple of Thanksgiving. And we should be having multiple kinds of breads, and we should be doing crazy things.
SPEAKER_03You know what's a solid Thanksgiving staple, speaking of bread, is the Friday turkey sandwich on white bread. For sure. You've got to have leftover gravy. You do white bread, turkey, uh, gravy, you know, salt, you know. I mean, it just soaks it up.
SPEAKER_06But see, that's why you bring the bread back because then you get the dinner roll. You use the dinner rolls. Alright, I'm gonna switch Zach's.
SPEAKER_03I'm gonna switch Zach's. It's it's he's bread and butter. He's got two ingredients, and that's the only thing that's good about it.
SPEAKER_01But for all the folks listening out there, the real move is eat early, have that first turkey sandwich late night before you go to bed. You sleep well. First thing you do when you wake up on Friday, have another one. Have attic.
SPEAKER_03There you go. Next up, um, I'm gonna say that Scotty is canned cranberry. That that's a little harsh. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Tim loves canned cranberry. I love canned cranberry. Do you put cranberry on your turkey sandwich day after? Oh, yeah. Yeah. Just a little slice.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Um, again, he's not for everybody, but he's always there. And he's right there in the playoff mix. But honestly, you talk to most people and they don't like it. But he's there. Uh next up, I'm gonna go with me. I'm gonna switch this up. I'm gonna say I'm green beans. Just because I I don't know. I don't want it.
SPEAKER_06I'd say you're more like the salad. I fucking hate salad. We gotta have, you know, everybody's gonna have this. Someone's gotta bring a salad. But nobody really cares to have it there.
SPEAKER_03Nobody cares. Nobody cares about it.
SPEAKER_06Like the five-layer salad.
SPEAKER_03I actually like that, Kyle. Actually, that's a pretty good one. Nobody cares to have me here. I agree. Um, next up, Kyle is pecan pie. He's a little nutty. I think that's too nice. I don't actually, I hate pecan pie. That's all I got.
SPEAKER_06I feel like there's like a new rivalry starting right now. What the hell?
SPEAKER_03I generally like you. You just piss me off.
SPEAKER_02He generally likes you, Kyle. Generally. Generally. No, corn is one that it's at every meal. Everyone puts it on their plate, but it means nothing.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. Excuse me.
SPEAKER_02Oh, it's it's one of my favorites. Excuse me, Mr.
SPEAKER_03I Lobby, for our beautiful corn farmers. No one will besmirch corn at this table.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I shouldn't have said that.
SPEAKER_03I love I love corn.
SPEAKER_02I eat lots of corn. So you're saying Kyle's corn? Yeah. Have we gone through everybody? No, not yet. Okay. Oh, I thought you said you're done. I was gonna say, because there's there's several.
SPEAKER_06I think there's one corn item that we've left off. It's very important. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Um I don't know whether we I'm gonna say Cameron is pumpkin pie. I thought you were gonna say he's the blankets given to the Indians with smallpox on them.
unknownWhat?
SPEAKER_02I don't even get that.
SPEAKER_03In the original trade between I mean, right, but why? How?
SPEAKER_02Just because it ruins everything.
SPEAKER_03So I think Cameron's pumpkin pie because I actually I really like pumpkin pie, and it's it's actually good, but nobody puts it up there at the top. He's not up there at the top this year. Although, if you were to break things down, like any year for Thanksgiving, you'd be like, alright, rank the top three things today, and you'd be like, Yeah, pumpkin pie's like top. Cameron's had terrible breaks this season with this team. Yeah, it's a really good team, it's really well put together. I like it. Um, next up, Ken is cornbread. I think for multiple reasons. Cornbread is a Thanksgiving item.
SPEAKER_06I think corn casserole is more of a Thanksgiving item.
SPEAKER_03Kindle's something with that. What is he doing? Corn casserole. Alright, explain why.
SPEAKER_06I don't know. You came up with it. Um, well, because it's a corn guy. It's but see, the the thing is, I love corn casserole. He's strong, he's hard. I don't know if this is a way maybe he's this is tough. No, oh, you know what? No, he's like the black olives in the Who the fuck's eating black olives? Exactly.
SPEAKER_03You know, like sometimes there's that dish tea. There's that dish on the table that's like like pickles and olives. You know? I don't even notice stuff. I think cornbread was nice to say about him. Um next up, P is gravy. Because, okay. This is by himself not good. But um you put that on a little something. I think he's still got a real shot at being in this thing. And he's gonna slide just like gravy, he's gonna slide his way. He might slide his way into the playoffs.
SPEAKER_08Okay.
SPEAKER_03Last up, Phil. I don't know. I couldn't think of Brussels sprouts. Um for some reason people like Brussels sprouts, but they're actually goddamn awful. Yeah, I don't get it. Kisha loves them. Better if you mix them with bacon. No, everyone's like better if you mix it with bacon. Yeah, you just have bacon on a turd and it's gonna be good. Just have the bacon. Gimme the bacon. Sorry, Phil.
unknownI don't think you can.
SPEAKER_06See, I think Phil would be more like the can of cranberry. Cranberry. You mean delicious Scotty? Or maybe he's the kiss.
SPEAKER_03Did I miss any ma major? Well, yams is sweet potatoes, right? Oh, and well yeah, that's right. Did I miss any major things here? Did you say mashed potatoes? Yes. Who's major? Like dishes. Your only fan. Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_06Obviously. Oh, uh you know what? Uh, well, I think this was a staple of the trap household. Uh at the trap household. Can someone just follow up? What the fuck's a trap household? Okay, well, that's that's on my mom's side.
SPEAKER_03So that was always like his mom's main name is they just like go to the club. His mom was from a trap house.
SPEAKER_06So Wes, you remember Wes, right? At the draft? His mom and my mom's traps.
SPEAKER_03T-R-A-P-P.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, the bomb traps. Anyways, uh, we always had Oreo dessert. Well, that sounds good. We do that too. That's a staple.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that sounds good. And that one too. Always such a Midwestern. Gummy worms in there, too.
SPEAKER_03I just can't remember how Quincy once had a soup Thanksgiving. And then he said I might never come back, and they were like, no. They were like, oh, we really want Quincy to come back. Please come back.
SPEAKER_06I like Nerdis. Connor, is there anything we missed? Do you is there anything at your guys?
SPEAKER_01So I'm gonna say it. I don't want to oust myself as a weirdo, but what the fuck is corn casserole? I I've never heard of it. Sounds like you're gonna be bacon miles. I don't know what that is. I just I hate to say it. I sound weirder than Q attending the soup function. I mean, goddamn soup kitchen for Thanksgiving, which is fucking crazy. It's a guy that used to volunteer at a soup kitchen on Thanksgiving and giving back. I mean, this guy actually I might have fucking served him because that's the same.
SPEAKER_03Are you sure they didn't just have a bad year and they were like, we gotta go to the soup kitchen this year?
SPEAKER_02No, it was just like a bunch of like varied soups.
SPEAKER_03The problem is there's only like three good soups. So by the time you're getting to like the eighth and ninth soup, garbage.
SPEAKER_02And this is even what I said to her afterwards, because I I tried to like a lot of feedback, and well, when we left, I said, look, here's the deal. Thanksgiving's my favorite holiday of the year. You just ruined it. I look forward to this meal more than anything. And I just had to eat three bowls of soup. Did someone bring some chili? Yeah, was there good like bread or anything? Honestly, I've just I've blocked it all out of my mind.
SPEAKER_03It was so traumatic.
SPEAKER_01Wow, you could just imagine.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. I feel bad for you.
SPEAKER_01The real question is, how drunk did you get in the moment to compensate for what was happening? They probably didn't even have any food. I'll bet you he was sober as the day is on.
SPEAKER_02Actually, kudos to uh Uncle Chuck Maxwell who brewed his own beer. Shout out, Uncle Chuck. We uh yeah, we had some Brewski's for some football. That that made it better. So this might be a stupid question. Are the Ryan Maxwells related to the Maxwell? Okay. That's interesting. So speaking of Maxwell, he did text me today with some Thanksgiving thoughts on like good things, things you think about. That's nice. So these are just like they're not like rankings, they're just like statements about Thanksgiving, right? Like I'll just read them. Overeating, watching football, playing flag football, running a 5K. Wait, who plays flag football? Debating politics at dinner, judging your cousin's new girlfriend, playing board games, getting in a fight with Uncle Steve. Very specific. What the fuck, Steve? Stealing prescription drugs from your grandparents. Uh Blackout Wednesday. Avoiding awkward Aunt Peggy. Hotboxing on the way to the store.
SPEAKER_03And Black Friday shopping. So I do like the politics. Kyle, so since your whole family's libs, are you guys just like there is no like all you guys are Kyle's kind of too? Your whole family's just weird uncles. Thank you. There's nobody that you guys have to be like, oh, he's wearing his MAGA hat. Nothing to say.
SPEAKER_06I've got my whole family's not libs.
SPEAKER_03I mean, they fucking.
SPEAKER_06Do you know okay, first off, do you even know Carroll County?
SPEAKER_03The way he turned out.
unknownOh my god.
SPEAKER_03God. So here's one thing I miss about Thanksgiving. Maybe you guys, I'm wondering because you guys are live closer to home. I mean, the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Is that a thing? It used to be big. Because I mean we were all early 20s. Go to your hometown for uh Thanksgiving. Man, that was a fun night at the bar. Yeah, it was. Yeah. That was always really fun. It's been a long time. Yeah, the problem for us is we got a drunk drive like really far. Which hasn't obviously stopped you before. No, I mean I've been on drunk road trips legit. But yeah, it's just it's tough. I mean, is the doghouse the only place to go now? Where else do you go?
SPEAKER_02You know, in my in my mid-20s, we would go back into Lafayette. We would do Harry's or another place. Did we do Beamers one year? We've we've done beamers. Like we've done some local stuff. But it was never like, hey, let's all meet at the office tavern. We're all back in town, really. I think now you just hang out at people's pool barns. Yeah. It's fun.
SPEAKER_03This has been good. I like it. We're back. Glad we're so back. So, Connor, any feedback from uh how'd you see? So, this is it, we're gonna do it.
SPEAKER_01We're not doing any uh off the off the cuff topics. I mean, I don't know. Wait, do you have any topics that you want to talk about? I gotta be honest with you, if I gotta take over here, I would love to run through a few things.
SPEAKER_03We're going for an hour and 18 minutes in, and we're just rolling with it.
SPEAKER_01Give the people what they want. People, they got to go back to the room. We're gonna Joe Rogan this podcast and they got plenty of time. A lot of road trips, a lot of time in the office, maybe a lot of time in the weight room. All good things.
SPEAKER_03Gains.
SPEAKER_01First up, should we put a stop to domes? Everyone is becoming dome. Let's put a dome, let's do a dome, let's put a dome on this. It's a good question. We're losing how football was intended to be played. And we watched the snow game, what was it, last Thursday? That was fucking special. I like that. I mean, I stayed up until like 11:30 or 12 watching that. I wasn't even drunk or anything like that, and I had the time in my life. I mean, what do they call it? A snow globe game. I mean, that's special. Yeah. That's what football is.
SPEAKER_03I don't think we're getting I see. I think we're probably getting more domes than less. Like Nashville to fund to fund a state today, you have to be able to basically tell your legislature, we're gonna go get a final four. Yeah, we're gonna get a final four, we're gonna playoff. Yes, we're gonna get um uh conferences that we can also host to. And so I'm not saying that's right, because I agree, you do lose something, right? You lose a lot. And but you think about all most of the the markets that need to get new stadiums, most of them are putting a roof up. But nobody's there nobody's putting retractable roofs anymore, which I think is interesting. Because I think they're it was a very like mid 2000s thing where everyone was doing a retractable roof. And they Well, Atlanta's was uh is retractable and it's pretty new. No, but it was all all the same time. That was that thing's still ten years old at this point. No, it's not.
SPEAKER_01It was like two years ago or two. It's like it's look it's younger than five, I think. Look it up. That's a cool thing. It's not ten. I don't think it's ten. No, but if if if we're gonna say that the government's gonna cut our nuts, then I demand, honestly, we should march on every city and say, make it retractable to Kyle's point, because there's something special about outdoor football and feeling that air and being fucking cold. Yeah, it's all part of a game.
SPEAKER_03They're always gonna close the roof if the weather is.
SPEAKER_01Well, at some point we have to stand up to the fucking deep state. This is the deep state.
SPEAKER_06They should definitely make it so that you could like if it's definitely gonna snow, that they should have to open the roof up to the street.
SPEAKER_03Open 2017, Mercedes-Benz.
SPEAKER_01Technology has come way too far for us to keep pretending that like we can't do this, we can't do that. You go over to fucking Europe, and the goddamn Europeans that have no AC are are closing doors, like they're they're doing all the things.
SPEAKER_03Well, they have they have a bunch of retraction, but it's like over the field.
SPEAKER_01All I'm saying is we need to get our shit together. The fucking Europeans with no AC are beating us, and I'm not okay with that.
SPEAKER_02We've now had several circumstances this year where they've tried to retract roofs and had issues at ATT Stadium. That happened here. Who had an issue here in Indianapolis. Thanks, taxpayers, for wasting your dollars. I mean, this is not helpful. Like, let's figure this out. Well, ATT hasn't been opened in like years, right?
SPEAKER_01Who's the real question is let's demand the paperwork. Who's building these? Who's designing them?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, who's uh populous mostly. Yeah. I mean, who's Well, we went to the Colts game this week and the weather was beautiful. You could have had that. Shut it down.
SPEAKER_01And Jim, but for a football game, come on. Jim Mersey said, shut it down. Shut it the football. With a sunshine. Alright, what's your next topic? Next topic is stadium beer pricing. Let's get into that. Because Kyle brought up a great point about Mercedes-Benz. Arthur Blank is a man of the people.
SPEAKER_03He is a man of the people.
SPEAKER_01And the thing is, you're gonna go in there and pay five, the range is five to eight dollars a beer, and you have the fucking best time of your life. Whereas you go to a Jags game, I'm paying $18 for a beer, $21 for a cocktail, and like $34 for a double. Colts, I'll give him some credit. I think we walked out, every beer was ten to fifteen bucks. All I'm saying is here, let alright.
SPEAKER_03Like I did film to the brim.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, you know what I mean? We gotta do something about beer pricing. So I say to you guys, what's your cutoff? What one, are you guys drinking whiskey or liquor during games? Are we going to say that? It's so hard to find liquor at the game. And does the price, I mean, the fact that Jackson Jacksonville, no joke, for a double rum and coke, whiskey, ginger, whatever you're drinking, $34, does that take you away? Regardless of your age, your income. I mean, at some point we have to take a stand on what's right. I mean, they're paying five dollars to pour that drink, they're making thirty-four off us. Who's gonna take a stand?
SPEAKER_06I go for beer always in that scenario. Just even still, because like even when you get the hard, you can't guarantee that they're gonna give you like at least the beer I know that it's gonna have the specific alcohol content.
SPEAKER_02I don't understand why we have to drink alcohol to enjoy a football game, guys.
SPEAKER_03I can't get well, because we've talked about the product going to hell. Um, I can't get drunk anymore. It's been really, really tough for me to get drunk lately. I don't know. Has this happened to anybody else? Is it a liver issue? I don't know what's happening. I cannot get drunk anymore. I can't say the last time I was drunk was literally after our draft when I was drinking like Kendall's 170-proof whiskey.
SPEAKER_06I think as we get older, you get better about like knowing how to do it.
SPEAKER_03I think I just don't take shots anymore, and I used to take a lot of shots and go straight to my head.
SPEAKER_01Miles Hodge, big shot guy. But Tim, let's get your opinion on this man though. Beer, what's what's the price cutoff that you're uncomfortable paying or that you don't believe? I mean, we're being taken advantage of. Arthur Blank wants people to have a good time.
SPEAKER_03I appreciate what Arthur Blank is doing because he does the same thing with food items too.
SPEAKER_01Exactly. Three dollars for a hot dog, everything's three or below, which is unbelievable.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it's they do a nice job there. I I think that um, you know, at games, I'm typically I I don't drink much beer at all. I rarely drink beer. Um I'm a vodka guy. Uh everyone says that a lot of way. Ice water. Um to your point, I think uh you know, an ice water at a football game um is very expensive and takes forever. There's like one uh place that sells them. So I typically at Colts games, I do those neutrals to 1050 apiece. That's not a good deal. Um but uh yeah, that's what my that's my go-to.
SPEAKER_01A lot of politicians here. Maybe we can get let's get a brain trust together. Let's fix what's broken, right? Let's take a stand for the hardworking people that I mean. We saw a lot of hard-working blue-collar people at that game Sunday. They spent a lot of money to be there. Let's let's put some money back in their pockets.
SPEAKER_02I would just encourage them to drink a little more before they go into the stadium. That's fair. Yeah, and then puke at midday, like Quincy.
SPEAKER_08Yes.
SPEAKER_02I threw you. I just wrote this morning. Um weird situation. I think I had bad um butter on my popcorn last night at the movie theater.
SPEAKER_03So if you Connor, if you didn't know, Quincy's like a cocker spaniel. He literally just pukes like multiple times a week.
SPEAKER_08The last time we did this weird here for no it was crazy. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I got in the shower, um, like kind of felt fine, but then started feeling a little strange. Got out, and I thought it was like maybe just some some drainage. Just yaked.
SPEAKER_03In the shower.
SPEAKER_02No, no, I got out and threw up in the toilet. Sure you didn't just like undercook one of your.
SPEAKER_03Any other major two, anything else?
SPEAKER_01We got the final one last one, you know, talking about Lions just came here, beat the shit out of the Colts. As a Jags fan myself, I'm witnessing a tough time. But all you Colts guys, what's the future of the AFC South? The Texans are unbelievably overrated, and we need to stop pretending that they are the future of this division. They're not. They have so many flaws in that team. They're not a great team. That offensive line is horrific. Stroud is overrated. Yes, the receivers are fantastic, Mixon's great, but the defense isn't the defense is fucking terrible, and that offensive line is even worse. What is the future of this? Because we know a couple Colts guys here, but the Colts have a lot of holes to fix, and there's some that don't believe in upper management. Richardson has a lot of room to develop, but they knew that when they took him. Alright, you knew that when he played at Florida. The Jags, they were wow, we got all these pieces and stuff. Over overpaid for a lot of shitty preseason editions. You've got eight draft picks and a ton of draft capital. I mean, you've got 60 million offseason to spend. So what's in the the titles? I mean, Levis is a Will Levis, Levis, whatever. Gia smoking hot. Should have never broken with her. His game has gone downhill since the sex tape. His girlfriend, G O from the draft. Yeah, yeah. You didn't see the sex tape, Tim? No. You didn't see the sex tape. Someone linked. Yeah, someone get him a link. Corbin is never done. Corbin, find it on Reddit. Got it. Some of my favorites. That team's I mean, that team is bottom of the barrel. They're gonna be fucking dog shit for the next eight years. So let's go around the table. Let's start with Miles. All right. What's next for the Colts? What's next for the division? Let's make this division great again.
SPEAKER_03Connor, you're preaching to the choir. Uh this division, the Colts have not won it in a decade. And it has not been good in a decade. Like it has not been any good. It's not like these teams are great. Um I think the Texans are the closest thing, right? Okay, yes, their offensive line is garbage, but they do have a solid pass rush. Um I think Stroud is a really good quarterback. Um wide receivers are very good. I I think defensively they're they've got like a good scheme. Um but I think they are the the class of of the of the South. It doesn't mean they can't be supplanted. Absolutely not by anyone who can do anything remotely decent. The Jags, I think, are on the fucking, I mean, they're gonna fire their coach this year. Um, they're gonna start over. There's so many stats where like Trevor Lawrence isn't any better than like, you know, your average very below average quarterback.
SPEAKER_02They're gonna sign Daniel Jones.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Um and then you got the Titans perennially like they perennial. I just don't they aren't gonna compete for years. Firing Vrabel was insane. So stupid. I mean, they've made so many, like letting Derrick Henry go, trading AJ Brown, like what the fuck? Like they could have literally been an elite AFC team. Yeah. Um, yeah. Um, and then you've got the Colts who literally continue to stand with Chris Ballard because Ursay is his brain is completely gone from the opioids. Um, and then but the problem is that people are like, oh, he should hand his daughter his his the team over to his daughters. Well, the main daughter that's gonna run this thing is like the largest fucking liberal moron you've ever met in your life. She's literally like a high school librarian. All right, here's the thing. She is gonna, I mean, I don't he has fucked this team, but the best thing he's done for this team in years was hire Jeff Saturday so they could tank and go get Anthony Richardson, go get a high draft pick instead of this mediocre horseshit of having a fifth the number 15 draft pick every season, which doesn't get you better, but doesn't help you at all. Like it's who's who's the owner of the Detroit Lions? Ford. But who is a woman Ford? Sheila Ford Hamp. Yeah. Okay. Takes over from her mother. Yeah, and they've been goddamn fired for legit decades, Tim, and then they actually hired a leader of men. Let him talk. So I guess hired a leader of men and turned it around. Is that they did? And Sheila Ford Hamp took over for her mother two seasons ago. And what she did was she turned it over to the professionals. Um I and they brought it up. I think that I think it I hope that they can figure out a way to turn around. They're obviously going nowhere. Um But I think that the you know the the Lions maybe have given the a team like the Colts somewhat of a roadmap. I think they've given a lot of people a roadmap. You don't need this offensive guru. You need a fucking leader of men, and then that leader of men hires good coordinators.
SPEAKER_02Tony Dungey, president of football operations.
SPEAKER_06I don't think he has interest in doing it. I don't think he has the fucking stamina left for that shit. I don't think he just has interest in doing it.
SPEAKER_03I don't know. I don't I don't know that he has the energy to do it. But the other problem, I think the other problem with the Colts right now is you've hired Shane Steichen, and I think they put him on a six-year deal. And they put him at like, I think he's making like close to nine million a year. Like he's making a ton of money. His buyout's gonna be insane. And is he a good I don't think you fire Shane Stein? Is he a good coordinator, schemer? Sure. Is he a good in-game manager? Fucking terrible, and he's obviously a terrible leader of men because that team has been in fucking shambles this season of people speaking off, but also your fucking quarterback.
SPEAKER_02I think that speaks to lack of player leadership in the locker room as well. Yeah, okay. But there's there's no real captain on that team. But it's a whole thing. Yeah. Anyway, um, on a on a brighter note to wrap things up, good news for you over the past day or so, Miles. Uh, sounds like Ryan Walters is being retained uh for another year. So congratulations. Seriously, yeah. It's awesome. That's good, that's good. So good for you, man. Thank you. Congrats to the boilers. Appreciate that. Win. Well, I hope everyone has a happy Thanksgiving. Thanks.
SPEAKER_06I'm being sarcastic. Can you not tell just you think I want Walters?
SPEAKER_01Fuck. Good podcast, boys. Carol County, you stay classy, baby. Thanks for having me.
SPEAKER_03Take care, boys. Bye, everybody.
