Welcome, welcome, welcome. It is the week six podcast to wear live in studio with producer Tim, Commissioner Kyle, Miles and yours truly. How is everyone doing? Better than Mark Sanchez. Jeez.
SPEAKER_04What a roller coaster. Yeah. It was like, oh man, downtown Indies are a terrible place. And then it's like, oh, god. Oh. Well, and Tim, you text me and were like, hey, are the American pumping guys packing heat? Because more to the story came out. It was a dude basically like pumping used cooking oil or a grease trap or something.
SPEAKER_01So it wasn't even a delivery driver for a TV.
SPEAKER_04No, they keep saying, like, oh, it was a like a like an Uber Eats drive. Yeah, no, it was a guy, and that's like we do have some jobs where you have to do them like in the middle of the night because you know they're in weird places or whatever. And so yeah, he was either like pumping a grease trap or collecting like fryer oil, and like what the fuck? That's um yeah. I think that your drivers are going to start needing some hazard pay. I they they're always packing heat. I mean, there are some places like we'll do we do like some gas stations in Indianapolis and stuff, and they're like, Yeah, I always bring a gun when we go to those places. It's like the homeless people always come up to me, and I'm like, get the fuck away, man. So I just feel like a lot's happened since we talked last. What else has happened outside of well?
SPEAKER_02I mean, you you and uh Cody essentially swapped rosters.
SPEAKER_04I mean, not really. Cody still has Jonathan Taylor and I'm on her off, so you literally sold, I mean. Do we need to put a timer on this on on Miles?
SPEAKER_02Yeah. We're not talking about this for more than six minutes. I'll start a timer right now.
SPEAKER_01I thought that the whole like we we changed things around originally. The issue around trading draft picks was so that we didn't have something like this.
SPEAKER_04Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Can we just start from the beginning? Let's just let's start with the facts. What happened? So I what did you trade? I told Quincy this even last two weekends ago when we were at the Ryder Cup, and then I told Kyle this when we were driving over to do the podcast last week. I was like, dude, I'm I'm gonna sell my entire roster to build for the future. There's no I'm last place in points. This team has good players, but does nothing. I have no running back. Like, I'm just gonna build for next year. And there wasn't you like I wasn't hearing from Quincy and Kyle, like, oh no, don't do that. That's crazy, blah, blah, blah. It was simply basically because I made the trade with Cody and he already had a very dominant team, that I think most of the uproar came because he was able to stack a lot of really good players.
SPEAKER_02I didn't realize you were going to sell all the pieces to the same person. I thought, like, hey, a two for one with this person, and maybe a two for one with this person.
SPEAKER_04I would have loved to do that, but you know how hard it is to make it, especially for me to make a trade in this league. People don't want to work with me.
SPEAKER_01You're no, because you're just getting so antsy.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. And you're like, but I'm also the guy, I also this is this is my mentality. Most people's mentality is not that. Like the last decade of the Colts, winning five, six, seven games a season, I would have rather won one game per year for those seasons, get draft picks, try to rebuild instead of these mediocre, like I don't understand being a Colts fan rooting for a sixth win in the last game of the season.
SPEAKER_02It's interesting that you chose to go with a same team package as your long-term dynasty investment.
SPEAKER_04Like, yeah, I agree. And so I traded basically my uh traded every like worthy person on my team, um, anybody of value to Cody for Eggbuka, a rookie who has been sensational, and Bucky Irving, who's a top tennis running back.
SPEAKER_01A fourth.
SPEAKER_04Okay, so then so then then Kyle, then what how do you respond? Like what's well what I want to know is I mean, I talked Quincy, I talked to you two weekends ago, and you were like, I wish I had something to give you for that.
SPEAKER_02And I was talking about like But I never would have done like an eight for eight swap. Like that's just that's insane.
SPEAKER_04Because a lot of us I even told you, and I even told you I was like, uh, what a dream scenario would be is like trading to Pete for Bijan, like everyone for Bichon. And I reached out to like nine people in the league and have reached out to people before that. It was much easier to do a single deal rather than because I was trying to trade with like one or two people, like a Kindle or a Zach or whatever, who were asking for like I'm not saying they these people were asking for that, but some people were asking for like Devontae Adams and Drake London and something and Justin Fields for a single flex player. Okay, so I have two questions.
SPEAKER_02I want to start with the commissioner. Was your phone blowing up after the transaction?
SPEAKER_01Surprisingly, no.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_01I think some of the league has gotten used to Miles you know, I'm gonna call it bullshit. Um it's shenanigans. Nonsense. Um posturing. Malarkey. Oh, yes. I did talk with excitement.
SPEAKER_04I did talk with a few that it's you know do I in a perfect world, would I obviously not want to trade with my rival? Absolutely. So that was my next question. Obviously, not want to trade with the person who already has the most dominant team in the league. Absolutely. But the vast majority of the league would give me not even the time of day. The only people who would really talk to me were Pete and Abbott.
SPEAKER_01Because I also think, well, no, that's not true.
SPEAKER_04I've talked with you. I just offer me anything. Well, because you you didn't have like I I you didn't have flex plate pieces that I wanted for the future. Maybe like Javante Williams would be somebody, but like that doesn't it doesn't get me going.
SPEAKER_01My problem is I care too much about keeping the league as fair as possible that I just won't do transactions like that because I think it affects everybody else in a negative way.
SPEAKER_02Sure. But there's spoken like a bleeding heart liberal.
SPEAKER_04But yeah, I care about everybody. Fuck you.
SPEAKER_02I'm kidding.
SPEAKER_01The competition committee have rejected this trade. Well, no, so here's the thing we don't have. I looked in the constitution and we don't have anything that includes oversight of trades and giving any powers. Now, the commit if someone would have objected to it and brought something to the table, like or said, hey, I think this is an unfair trade. I want the committee to look at it.
SPEAKER_02I looked to see if then maybe if any roster limitations had been exceeded at the time of the transaction, which would have negated it, and I made sure it didn't.
SPEAKER_04Um but also with the five-minute mark. So I told it, I told it, but I even said on the podcast last week to everyone like I'm willing to make a deal that is way over helping people for this year to get flex players for next year.
SPEAKER_02Do you realize blood is going to be on your hands? Yeah. If Cody wins at all.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I mean, yeah. But all it takes is one.
SPEAKER_02Has he promised you like a month of the trophy residing at your residence?
SPEAKER_04No, there were no other. I mean, honestly, our conversation was very quick.
SPEAKER_02Is the Cold War over?
SPEAKER_04I sent out this kind of the same thing I sent to a very a lot of people, and I said, my entire team for Ekbuka and Irving. And he goes, he basically responded an hour later. He goes, Are you serious? I go, absolutely. And he goes, uh, I'm ready to do it. Now I will say, Cody did give me a heads up before it happened. I even gave it 24 more hours because I was like, man, I don't want it to be Cody. Like, I don't want to help his team even more. I would like to make it with Zach or with Corbin or with Pete or Kendall, somebody. That's it. Okay.
SPEAKER_02That was it. Well, that's a good some good background on what occurred. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04You know, let's think I even gave it 24 more hours to try to make a deal with people. Okay.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_04Shh shit.
SPEAKER_02So let's get into week five. Let's let's talk about the results post-trade. Uh see, I think this part is interesting. Yeah, let's just like flow into it. I I mean, I hate being so mild-centric, but it's kind of the storyline of the week.
SPEAKER_04Oh, uh, Zach, uh, Miles just giving up for the season. He's just gonna be an easy win the rest of the year, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Uh, 123 points. Hey, Miles. Yeah, you you beat. I beat my average by 50 points this week. You beat Phil 123 to 95. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Even a blind squirrel finds a nut.
SPEAKER_04Rasheed Shahid had a huge game, 19 points. And it would have been more if not for De Mercado dropping the ball to go. Well, the other thing is I dropped uh Kendrick Bourne before Cody and I made that trade because I wasn't sure whether it was going to happen or not. And I just stupidly dropped him. He ended up like a 20-point game. I would have played him too. Um, walk us through your matchup. Theo Johnson had a big game for the Giants, caught two touchdowns, 18 points. Um, Eggbuka, obviously close to 28 points. Um I don't know. I I think people were pissed because yeah, I had like Drake London, Devonta Adams, and um Nico Collins that I traded.
SPEAKER_02But in all honesty, like We're not talking about your trade.
SPEAKER_04I know, but we're talking about Eggbuca having a great game.
SPEAKER_01Don't try and justify it.
SPEAKER_04You just got lucky just three for two great players. Sure. You just got lucky he went off. I am. I also picked up Sam Darnold for 27. I think the other thing is when you have a shitty team, a lot of times your roster is just so clogged with like these like an AJ Brown that's not gonna do a fucking thing. So it's like, why not make a move and open this thing up and literally throw flyers in there? I mean, look at how many weeks Scotty gets like a 20-point performance out of somebody that no one would have thought picking to even like have rostered on your team. So put up a huge, huge score and uh yeah, puts me at two wins.
SPEAKER_02So you're two and three. Phil drops to one and four. Tough week for Phil. Not good. 95 points is not a bad showing, though. Um, caught your buzzsaw. Ladd McConkey actually has a decent game, catches a touchdown pass. Uh Darius Slayton went out with an injury after he lost a fumble. Kyler went out in that game. Yeah. Sam Laporta played great. Good performance from Brees Hall. I think it's incredible.
SPEAKER_04Indiana Daniel Jones gets 16 points in a 40-point performance in the Colts offense. But that that to me did not match up.
SPEAKER_02Maybe Jonathan Taylor had three touchdowns. Oh, sure.
SPEAKER_04It's just you'd think if they score 40 points, Daniel Jones would wander into getting at least 20.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. So let's go to Jake from State Farm versus right to bear arms. Jake gets the victory. He's 3-2, scores 103 points. Kendall only puts up 76. He's now 2-3. Jared Goff, nice game. Saquon kind of gets back on the right track, 16 points. Gets a finally a good performance from Devonta Smith, 15 and a half. Really, the storyline is more about Kendall's team from this matchup. Nothing from Woody Marks. I talked about it on the Sunday afternoon update video. Trevion Henderson, like what do you do with this guy? Even after Ramondre Stevenson fumbles twice, he gets scores two touchdowns.
SPEAKER_04It reminds me a lot of Gibbs, his rookie year, where you know he is lightning in a bottle. They just refuse to give him the ball the first like two-thirds.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, and then Vrabel says yesterday, we need to get him involved in the kick return game. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04And it's like, yeah. Um they did. I mean, I'll say this about Kendall. He's already pissed at me for this trade, but at the same time, we've talked about how deep his team is and has been all year. And you know, he's got he's got three, four, five guys that he could trade as depth pieces for one really good person. I I had even offered him like Drake London in past weeks. And he hasn't made the move. And you know, he's still got good points on the season and things. But that's how you keep bringing everything back to your trade.
SPEAKER_02I am. Let's talk about the matchups.
SPEAKER_04The reason he lost is because he's got points sitting on his bench and he's got playable guys that other people would take off. He didn't lose because of his bench this week. I that's I mean, that's yeah, but other there's been he lost by 27 points. Two of his other losses have come because he had people on his bench that he could have played, or if he would have swapped a two, two for one or a three for one. Stop trying.
SPEAKER_02So Spencer Schrader's career's over. Uh actually really sad. Like that injury was terrible. I mean, no, I'm not saying it's actually over, but is it knee or is it ankle? It's knee.
SPEAKER_04A lot of ligaments. Is that guy gonna get fined? Like I don't know, he should. For shit like that, it's kind of like what do you do? You weren't getting to the ball. Like you could have pulled up. You you didn't have to throw your entire, you know, it was after the kick. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Um, and then the other thing for Kendall that is kind of a wrench in his plan is sounds like uh Spears is going to get reintegrated back into the rotation in Tennessee right now. So Pollard's stock could potentially be dropping a little bit.
SPEAKER_04So that's kind of what I'm saying is like he could have moved to Pollard, he could have moved to Chase Brown when he had more value, he could have moved several of these. Darren Waller's sitting on his bench and has had two great weeks. I I don't uh I wonder if Waller becomes a must-start.
SPEAKER_01I think it's gonna be difficult for him. You know, you've had two weeks like that.
SPEAKER_04He's not gonna start Waller as a trade bride. Sure. So again, make a move.
SPEAKER_02Big Data, Braden, both high both broke 100 points. Big Data gets 120, gets the victory over Braden, 120 to 103. Cody keeps on rolling. He's 5-0. Braden now 2-3. What do we think about the matchup?
SPEAKER_04On Braden's side, coming out party for Bill, Corey Krosky Merritt, had 26 points in this one. Um, that's why I was surprised with that trade a few weeks ago. I mean, Dalton Kincaid has been a good tight end, but JCM, end of the year, I mean, if they're gonna give him the carries like this, I mean he's he's got an RB1 on his team.
SPEAKER_02Well, and he gets 20 points out of Jake Ferguson. I mean, he's he's been in the world. Jake Ferguson has been unbelievable.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, because especially because CD's been out. CD's been out. And one more week. I sent him, I sent Brayden that text today of uh, you know, in the office where uh Creed comes up and he's like one more week of for when he gets Rasheed Rice back. So I think I think Braid's still sitting in a good spot. Um yeah. Brian Thomas like looked okay, looked better in that game.
SPEAKER_01Um on Cody's side, obviously, I mean he was great before, but now he's got I do wonder if Cody's gonna run into a little bit of what Kendall sometimes struggles with. I don't think so.
SPEAKER_02I I I think the only piece that he's gonna look at rotationally putting in is AJ Brown. Drake London's gonna be a starter, I would think. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04I mean he's got four wide receiver ones and the best running back in football. And George Kittle's coming back. And Mahomes has been unbelievable that shit.
SPEAKER_01So you're saying he's going to play who who's the one that he's he's gonna He's gonna start the four wide receivers.
SPEAKER_04He's gonna start Jonathan Taylor, and then he's that that's it.
SPEAKER_01I mean that's so you don't think Jordan Mason plays? No, no. Got it.
SPEAKER_02My matchup, uh I lose to Chase and TD's 93 to 89. You know, it actually didn't sting all that much. It stung. There was there was a point in time on Monday night where I was like, eh, you know, this thing, it could maybe happen. So that glimmer of hope is probably what stung the most when it disappeared. Um but going into Sunday, I was like, this team doesn't have a shot. And I kind of think I talked about it on the podcast last week. Um I think the part that bothers me is I decided to take a Hail Mary. I was kind of being silly, like Quincy just being a silly little goose that adds Taysom Hill instead of starting a real tight end. And uh I was going to I was going to add AJ Barner and play him.
SPEAKER_04You were almost like, I gotta I gotta take Hail Marys here to try to score points. But in reality, if you would have taken the singles, you would have won it.
SPEAKER_02Well, I had added what Och, what's that guy's name? The Tennessee tight end? Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Ocha Concord. Whatever it is.
SPEAKER_02I I had added him and plugged him in to start and then dropped him.
SPEAKER_01How did he do?
SPEAKER_02Had six points, I would have won. Yeah, yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04So So it does hurt.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Well, then I said this to you, but Bryce Young, I don't know. I know you were you were going for the stack. Yeah, but the stack with a wide receiver who doesn't catch touchdowns because he's got Bryce Young throwing him the football.
SPEAKER_02Um Zach has a great game from Jamar Chase, 26 points, two touchdowns, both which have which came in the second half. Um That was an incredible game to watch.
SPEAKER_04I mean, if you if in a weird way, your problem or in this matchup, Quincy, was that both the Detroit cornerbacks went down, and in the second half of that Bengals game, I mean, just Jake Browning was just lighting up the Lions. He was on one. Uh, and and that really enabled Jamar to go nuts. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Very average performances from his uh rooking well his rookie running back.
SPEAKER_04Hampton got hurt.
SPEAKER_02He did, I know. Um uh Scataboo had 11. Judkins had 13. Judkins looks really good. He looks fantastic. Um Javante Williams, another great performance. Yeah. I mean, he is he's running back three overall. Dude, what about the Stefan Diggs revenge game? Had almost 20 points. I needed a touchdown from him.
SPEAKER_04I think you got a tweet that was like uh Stefan Diggs is getting open out of pure hate.
SPEAKER_02Let's see, what else do we got? We got uh subpar wins 113 to 89 over the SCLSU muddogs. Pete is now four and one.
SPEAKER_04Don't look now, but I think Pete has the third, is the second or third most points in the league? Third. I mean, again, with a CMC, he's the number one running back overall, but or is he number two now behind Taylor? He's got the second most points. Second most. Um but yeah, I mean, Pete with CMC and with Bichon, he just has such a high floor.
SPEAKER_02I mean, he streams CJ Stroud and gets 28 points.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, but it's against Baltimore. Baltimore's defense has been awful. I actually I saw another tweet today that was like the top quarterbacks on average this season have been like whoever has faced the Cincinnati, whatever quarterback won has faced the Cincinnati Bengals, whatever quarterback has faced the Baltimore Ravens, Josh Allen, whatever quarterbacks face the Dallas Cowboys, like it doesn't matter who, it's just some of these defenses are so bad. Yeah, any quarterback's gonna score a bunch of points.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Ridley finally has a good game.
SPEAKER_02Great game. Um Maxwell, James Cook doesn't do anything really. Five points. Uh same with Hunter Henry, kind of a lower performance. He plays two tight ends. He plays Travis Kelsey and Hunter Henry. It's a bold move. Yeah, I mean it it worked out basically like playing a flex one. Got 15 and a half out of it. Uh Cortland Sutton, 14 points. And he puts up 89. He is now two and three. What do we think about Maxwell's outlook?
SPEAKER_04Um I think he's kind of teetering right now. He doesn't have a ton of points for on the season. Season on a brink. Yeah. Um Jefferson, who's has been his high flyer for several seasons. Um I he hasn't taken a step back, but like he doesn't have a good quarterback supporting system. And now with Addison back and Portland Sutton is ahead of Jefferson on the year right now. Yeah. I mean, just one position. But still. Cooper Cup. I I don't I don't know. I mean, James Cook has been really good. I think I think he's got a he's gonna be right there on the line of making the playoffs or not, but yeah, he's not got a team like he has in past years.
SPEAKER_02IUI Doc gets the victory over Pineapple Express. Sorry, Commissioner, 113 to 95. Talk to us about your matchup.
SPEAKER_01God that sucks. Like, we were so I mean, even though the score looks much more like going into Sunday afternoon, like if the Chargers could have actually put up a stance and stopped um Washington, we were basically neck and neck. Like it could have easily turned the other way. Um obviously I got severely hurt with the stupid Benson news that was so weird, you know.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, well like the la this time last week we weren't even talking about Benson being hurt, and now they're out he's like anything after. He's gonna be out like probably six, eight weeks. And then I and then he goes right onto the IR. Yeah. Well and this yeah. So that just And then Michael Carter comes out of nowhere.
SPEAKER_02At least you didn't have anything on your bench that could have won it for you, really.
SPEAKER_04No, but I mean you had to start uh with Kenneth Walker and Zach Charbonnet. So like you know, going in, like that's not a recipe for success.
SPEAKER_01It wasn't so much that it was toll, it was the fact that Tolvert literally the last weekend he looked like he was the number two. Yeah. And then he did nothing.
SPEAKER_02And then this other guy plays 77% of snaps and only gets one target.
SPEAKER_01It was so and and I thought he was gonna well, the other thing too was my hope was with uh Turpin out or whatever his name is, uh not Turpin, I don't know. The other guy um the uh he's the one that does the that does their kick returns. Turpin, yeah. Is it Turpin? Yeah, KV on Turpin. Um he was out. So I thought Tolbert would get one would think. But because they played the Jets, You know, they basically the Jets they weren't kicking the ball to him.
SPEAKER_04So that was Tyler Warren had another good game. 12 and a half, caught a touchdown. Dak Prescott, 28. Kyron Williams, 27. It's right there. I just, you know. Sucks. Um, how do we feel about Cameron's team? I mean David Montgomery throws a touchdown pass.
SPEAKER_02Well, amazing.
SPEAKER_04So I I had read before his like his like paralyzed sister was at the game. Yeah. And he's from Cincinnati originally. And he played quarterback in high school? So you knew he was gonna like have sure. Um but I mean I feel a lot better about Cameron's team now than I did a couple weeks ago. I mean, he has Michael Carter now, who's probably gonna be the lead back there in Arizona for the next at least six weeks. Um Rico Daddle, who was on his bench, scores 30 minutes. What do you do there, right? Do you Hubbard comes back? Do you think Dattle's gonna be a split back?
SPEAKER_02I do too. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04But I mean he's already got And this hurts Jake more than it hurts Cameron. Yeah. Like JSN for him has been great this year. Genty is coming on. He's got Jaden Daniels back now. Uh Debo Samuels had a really good season. Montgomery's just gonna score touchdowns, and then Marvin Harrison. Yeah. And then he's got some some running back. So I mean he could make it.
SPEAKER_02Oh, and he's gonna get Mike Evans back at some point. I mean he's looking, he's looking pretty good. Yeah, and he gets a victory when Tucker Kraft is on by. That's always nice. Like when you've got a key piece. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Um but he spent what 51 on Michael Carter, which looks like a great move now. Yeah. So don't worry, we're just opening the uh it's not food, it's a koozie. We're opening swag.
SPEAKER_02We are we are uh maybe like now's a good segue into that before we we talk about anything else.
SPEAKER_04I think that's great. We got great sponsors.
SPEAKER_01Wait, we got one more game? Yeah, we we forgot one game. Oh, wait, we'll do it. What did we miss? We forgot Beamer and Scott.
SPEAKER_02No, let's go. We've got to go in order.
SPEAKER_04Beamer gets another win. He's at 3-2, 105 to 74. This has to be the least likely three and two team you've ever seen. What'd you say?
SPEAKER_01He continues to shock lowest points.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I mean, it's not it's not like he's doing some great job. He has 441 points on the year, which is only two more than the other. I mean, he plugs in Rashad White and gets 21 points out of him. Yeah. I mean that that's helpful after James Conner went down for him. But again, this is not a good team. He's one of the bottom teams, bottom two, three, four teams in terms of points on the season. But he just happens to get good matches.
SPEAKER_00It don't matter if you win by an inch or a mile.
SPEAKER_04Winnings winning. Winnings winning. Um Scotty drops to two and three. Uh Chris Godwin came back from the injury, hasn't done much. Derek Henry has looked awful. It just seems like in and I I hope this is not the case, but Derrick Henry, who's a future Hall of Famer, has fallen off a lot this year, and that's really affected Scotty's team. I I don't know what's going on with the Ravens, just in general. Yeah. Um Jalen Waddell did have a good game for him, 20 points. Evan Ingram came back, caught a touchdown, 11 points. Uh but he starts uh Justice Hill and uh Tajay Spears in his in his flex spots. Which I could see where he has some better days ahead. Tajay, yeah, for sure.
SPEAKER_01So just Scotty's team in general, right? So he's got a lot of.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Yeah, and he had a lot of you can't start two running backs from the same team.
SPEAKER_01Well, he was maybe he was a little desperate, I suppose. I mean he definitely should have probably put in authority.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Yeah. Um I don't know why he hasn't traded Justin Herbert up to this point. I mean, there are a couple people who've needed quarterbacks. He's had Justin Herbert just sitting there. He has a very banged up roster.
SPEAKER_01Sometimes it's important to have that that good guy for that bye week.
SPEAKER_04Is it important to have that guy sitting on your bench all goddamn year and when you don't have even a complete roster to start every week? Could be for that one win. Or somebody gets hurt, you know. Look at all these uh Sure, but I I can I can pick up Sam Darnell off waivers and score 27 points. Just because you're incredibly skilled. Yeah. Skills. So yeah, I mean, overall, when we're looking at the uh um we're just looking at the standings, um number one overall is obviously Cody. Uh Pete with 538 points on the season is at 4-1. Jake's at 3-2, so is Corbin and Zach. And then you got a bunch of two and three teams. Cameron, Quincy, Kendall.
SPEAKER_01Phil is unfortunately starting off very similar to last year.
SPEAKER_02Braden, Maxwell, myself, and Scotty. And his saving grace was he went on a run of wins on the back end of the year, right? Yeah. Didn't he?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, because I still finished last in the league.
SPEAKER_02Which I was thinking about this um earlier this week. It's interesting, and I'm not I'm not proposing a change. It just kind of struck me that it's the worst record at the end of the regular season. Yeah. And not based on performance. Exactly. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02So so in theory, you could end in last get the last place, the ditch award, and still win the constellation bracket and have the number one.
SPEAKER_01I was I was runner up. So we change that or like fun. Well, we have one more year. I actually don't mind.
SPEAKER_04Like, should it be a combination of the regular season and then where you find it?
SPEAKER_01Because I thought it was weird too, but I actually kind of think it's fun because it's like because then it it's uh what I like about it is it it it takes out the randomness of one week.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. So it truly is the worst team at the end of the regular season.
SPEAKER_04If it's just the worst team out of the toilet bowl, it's the worst team.
SPEAKER_01No, I I know, but I I think it was fun because it was all it was all tied right there in the playoffs. Yeah. Like in how it all shook out. Yeah. And it also is kind of like something to fight for for redemption to be the last in the league, but then still be able to potentially get in the position to be first to pick. Yeah. Right.
SPEAKER_04So I mean, I'm just in the future, should we bring back draft draft pick trading? I mean, we eliminated it basically because of one person. We eliminated it because of Zach Wilson. And we kicked Zach out of the league.
SPEAKER_01Wait, wait, wait, wait. Hold on a minute. We eliminated draft pick trading because of Zach Wilson. Are you sure about that? I don't think it was. No. I think I'm looking at maybe one of the culprits. What did we eliminate? Right across from me. Didn't you sell off your team one year? No.
SPEAKER_02I think it's a variety of reasons.
SPEAKER_01Or uh Woody did.
unknownNo.
SPEAKER_01There was, anyways. It doesn't matter. There was like there were several. It was Zach every single year.
SPEAKER_04I don't know that he even ever made a draft pick trade. Are you kidding me? No, there was multiple people every single season. Motion to change the subject. He would sell off his first or second or third best players to basically whoever could just get a hold of him, and he would sell them for like a fifth round pick in the next year's.
SPEAKER_01I personally think we're just ready for some sort of uh a transition to dynasty.
SPEAKER_04I mean, we're already halfway getting there with a third uh flex keeper for for the guys who have the the franchise keeper guy, the five-year dude. So if you think about it, there are like six or seven guys next year who are already going to be off the board as a third flex. That's half another round.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I know that's what I said is I I think we're I think we're ready.
SPEAKER_02I am considering a rule proposal that puts a guardrail in place where someone can petition. So the the competition committee does not have authority to intervene into a transaction and deny the transaction. But if a petition is filed by a league member and the competition committee Dude, I think that's a slippery fucking slope. Look, it's not a it's not like in all these other bullshit leagues where a commissioner can just veto trades. That's not what this is. Yeah. This creates a threshold, a real threshold for that consideration.
SPEAKER_04It's a slippery Okay, so here's an example. The Bijan trade that Jake made, he traded the 101, and we all knew Bichon was basically going to be a franchise keeper for the next eight to ten years. Trades the 101 for a fucking fourth and fifth round pick or something stupid. Listen, all I'm saying is No one raises an eye at that. No one says shit about that. And that set up Pete's team for a decade.
SPEAKER_02Maybe no one would have file complained and filed a petition with the competition committee about your trade with Cody. Like, who knows?
SPEAKER_04I think it's a slippery slope. All these trades, half the time, and we talk about it all the time, where a trade on the surface, when it happens, you're like, oh, that's crazy.
SPEAKER_01There's a difference between down the line. I think there's a little bit of difference between uh a beginning of season speculation versus something that is proven commodities in scenario.
SPEAKER_02Like an AJ Brown who scores six points a week. You're also talking about someone has to just because he scored six points to complain to the commission and then three people have to make a decision, not one single person. Like it is something to consider. I don't know. And I'm not even saying I'm for it.
SPEAKER_01I'm just I think a reason for rule proposals. Okay I I don't think I've already got one already. So do I give you credit? You've already created no, I ain't gonna reveal it yet. Well we should talk about it now so people like can about it.
SPEAKER_02Hopefully it's removed Miles Hodge from the league.
SPEAKER_01It was um I need to I need to ask him if he cares. I I need to ask him if uh if he cares uh if I so I'll I'll ask him first and then if he says yeah, we'll discuss it on the next one.
SPEAKER_02I'm thinking through some point um adjustments as it relates to defenses, actually. If we're not gonna get rid of defenses, I think that it's I'm completely fine with neutering most of the scoring for a defense. I want the touchdown back. Um three, I mean, all of that effort, the rarity of the of the occurrence, you should get the six points for a defensive touchdown. So right now you only get three? Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. What about the kick return yards and stuff? Are those already in there? I mean, they're they're technically not tied to the defense, but I'm just asking.
SPEAKER_02You're not gonna No, I'm not I don't care about any of that. Yeah, okay. Because again, I don't want to create a situation where defenses are 20-point monsters weekend without.
SPEAKER_01So you're gonna you're gonna basically handicap more of the the points from a standpoint of like if a team scores 40 points, it's maybe not gonna have as much of a difference on the phone.
SPEAKER_02No, I'm not asking to adjust anything. You just want to bring score a touchdown at six points. You just want to bring back full points.
SPEAKER_01So you just pretty much want to bring back full points? No. No. You're saying, okay, so you you just want to bring it up. But right now you only get three points for touchdowns. My player catches an interception and takes it to the house. Yes, I know. It's half too much. That's the only thing I want to catch. But that was kind of the reason why we have to begin with.
SPEAKER_02No, no, no.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, because you'd have defense to go off for like 30-some points.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but it's getting two points for interceptions, two points for sacks. Yeah. Or sorry, point for sack. You were getting all these additional points. We halved everything in defense. Yeah. I'm fine, let's keep everything.
SPEAKER_04Why are we giving kickers five points for certain field goals? Like we neutered kickers a little bit by saying doesn't matter how long the field goal is, three points is three points. To argue the point for defense. It's like if they score a touchdown, it's six points. I get it. But I mean, yeah. Do you get it? Because I'm not sure that you it is completely random, though. It's not like you can like pick the team that's gonna score, unless you're playing against like a Jamison Williams usually or Jamison uh uh what's his name? Um he always throws picks in. Winston?
SPEAKER_00James Winston.
SPEAKER_02Okay, before we uh jump over to week six matchups, make selections, and go to power rankings, I think we should recognize tonight's sponsor for the podcast. Today's sponsorship is provided by Provision Ag. Braden Abbott. And I want to preface this with uh the gear and swag provided is incredible. I'm drinking a seltzer out of a Bex Hybrids cup. Nice cup. I like plastic cups.
SPEAKER_04We have popcorn, we have t-shirts.
SPEAKER_03You can put this cup in the dishwasher.
SPEAKER_04As we've grown up, I we have like glass cups. I don't ever use my glass cups. I like my plastic cups.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, this is a nice cup. So Braden graciously provided tonight's sponsorship and gave us um, you know, it's not necessarily an ad read.
SPEAKER_00Like as much as popcorn.
SPEAKER_02As much as it is a letter to the podcast. So let me just read this here. Provision Ag and Braden Abbott would like to thank the crew for all their hard work and dedication that they give each week to the CCPL. My 6 a.m. commute to the warehouse couldn't be filled with more joy hearing the classic tune of Boys Are Back in Town, followed by Q's soft voice. Welcome, welcome, welcome. Has a nice jingle to the ears. But it doesn't stop there. Producer Tim, hot on his buttons, along with his updates and love for the dirty D sports community. Kyle speaking complete gibberish and hating on my team every chance he gets. Don't forget Miles patented goodbye, everybody. It's an hour that I will dedicate for the next 14 weeks that I won't ever regret. That said, enjoy the care package, fellas. Hopefully, you got a bowl of fresh buttbex popcorn in the middle of the table with a few mixes in those souvenir cups. We're halfway there, Braden. Uh while spending a day on the links, wrap your frosty boys in those provision ag koozies while being proud of not only supporting a great business, but a great guy. Braden, you are a great guy. Provision ag providing phenomenal service and seed at value that can't be beat. Also, hopefully the shirts fit. Sorry, Q, the medium might be a little tight, but I'm sure Anne will appreciate how you fill it out. I didn't forget about you, Kyle. Dig to the bottom of the box, and oh yes, there are crayons. A perfect gift for a perfect little boy. Thanks again for all you do for the league. Again, that's Provision Ag Braden Abbott. Thank you so much to tonight's sponsor.
SPEAKER_04That was good.
SPEAKER_01That was nice.
SPEAKER_04I will admit that. That was that was well done at the end. I mean, and he's now a sponsor. We've got two sponsors this year. Maybe, maybe this is Brayden Nabbit. We are so back. Maybe this is the year. Maybe this is the year. That's good Juju. It was nice. I was just minding my own business. I hear Tim, we got a package at the door. I'm like, what could it be? I'm not expecting a package.
SPEAKER_02It was from Brain Abbott.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02It was lovely. By the way, was that Ken Burns documentary documentary music in the background? It's nice. The Ashokin farewell. It's so soothing. Right?
SPEAKER_04It was, I thought it was it was like lightly agricultural. Yeah. Yeah. It was nice to read by It's agrarian. Yes. We can just keep it on. It's really nice. I'd like to wake up to that every morning. I think I'd like to go to sleep too.
SPEAKER_01I don't know about wake up. I wouldn't wake up.
SPEAKER_04We'll just switch uh choking farewell to uh set up boys are back in the day.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Yeah. I think we do power rankings. A lot of flack for last week's power rankings. Fair enough. Um this week, going into week six, at number 14, there is a change. There's a change at the bottom. Hey yo. It's fillin' holes. What? He's got three losses in a row.
SPEAKER_04You're telling me after my trade, I have moved up after trading my entire roster.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, uh at 13. Again. Um it's lace is out. Not only did he lose last week, he's only got 425 points on the season. It's the lowest points for. I just you can't be any higher than that. Um at 12. MAGA. Bang. You know, you've only got 439 points, but he had a nice week. You're the high scorer. I think 12 feels right. Uh you very easily could be back to 14 next week, but uh you're at 12. Um at 11 is Braden Abbott. He's 2-3, he's lost two in a row. He's got 479 points, but uh those two losses in a row kind of moves him down the board. At 10. Another slide, LSU mud dogs. Maxwell has 463 points, lost this past week. He is at 10. At nine, at nine is Team Beamer. He's three and two. He won, but he's only got 441 points, right? Yep. Uh so I think that's the right spot for him. At eight is Braden Abbott. It's low. It is a little low. Uh he's got 479 points. He's lost two in a row. Uh that puts him kind of in the playoff picture. Um at seven is the commissioner.
SPEAKER_01Big drop.
SPEAKER_02That's a big drop. Um probably I think, I mean, if anyone's low, I think it's probably you. I mean, you've got what, the fourth most points on the season? Yeah, but he also has lost two in a row. At six is me. Uh, two and three, five hundred and four points, lost this past week. At five is Zach Owen. This one's probably high. Uh, but he's won three in a row. That's that's why he's where he is. He's at five because of his win streak.
SPEAKER_04It's not because of his points, though, it's because the way his team is positioned. Now, the Hampton injury, I think. I agree.
SPEAKER_02I agree.
SPEAKER_04But yeah, he wasn't scoring points at the beginning, but his teams looked a lot better.
SPEAKER_02At four is Jake from State Farm. At three, a team with a losing record.
SPEAKER_04Two and three. Cameron Norman. Yeah. That's incredible. His 515 on the season, that's the third most points. I think that's kind of where he should be.
SPEAKER_02At number two is Subpar. He's four and one, two wins in a row, five hundred and thirty-eight points.
SPEAKER_03He's two wins away from the I know. What was the what what was the deal there?
SPEAKER_02There was no deal. I just made an announcement.
SPEAKER_03He just thought.
SPEAKER_02I called my shot, and I was very wrong. Yeah. And no surprise to anyone for is this all of the regular season. Maybe not week one. I my memory recall's not great, but um Cody continues to be number one in power rankings.
SPEAKER_04603 points for on the season.
SPEAKER_02It's it's like when the AP announces the college football rankings or USA Today coaches poll, and it's like you with unanimous selection, the number one, you know, number one ranked team. This is Cody. He's averaging over 120 points. He got all the votes. He got all the votes.
SPEAKER_04Do you think that um Taylor Swift's album was dedicated to Cody's team this week?
SPEAKER_02Miles keeps talking to me about that song called Wood. It's about like Travis Kelsey's penis. I keep talking about it.
SPEAKER_04I actually heard I heard that that was actually a song about big data. That was the first big yeah, that was the first thing Quincy Texts this morning was talking about Travis Kelsey's penis. I don't know what he was dreaming about, but yeah. I mean Cody had a dominant team before. Um it looks even more dominant now, obviously.
SPEAKER_01And uh it's I just don't see it ending in sight.
SPEAKER_04I mean, again, Stranger Things have happened. All it takes is one week. A big injury, you know. It does. It could happen. So Quincy, I think, went to get another drink. And as we are, we're actually recording this on Tuesday. We're currently watching the Detroit Tigers below game three of the ALDS, which is very frustrating. And I just wanted to memorialize this moment. How many games are there? Five? It's five games in this series. And what's the score? It's one one. There doesn't have to be five. Yeah. We're going to lose game three, and that leaves two must-win games. What doesn't make any sense to me about baseball is you play uh you guys win game one? Yeah. You play endless games in the regular season, and then the playoffs come down to a one-game wild card.
SPEAKER_02So it's not that there's there's no one-game wild card anymore.
SPEAKER_04And then a five-game series. And then seven, seven, seven. So it's three, five, seven, seven. I just when you're playing how many games they play a year? 200 and something? 162. 160 fucking games, and you're gonna have a three-game like wild card? That's crazy to me.
SPEAKER_02Let's get to the week six selections. Kyle's picking his trans up.
SPEAKER_01I probably would have had them before I did all this. Week six. Uh, let's start at the bottom. Wait, did we do the quarter? Or did we talk about I can't remember? Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_04How did we end up last week? Um let me find that text. Um got it. Um, okay, we are. Um from last week, I was three and four on the week. Quincy was four and three, so was Kyle and Tim. The quarter was three and four as well. On the season, I'm twenty one and fourteen.
SPEAKER_01Actually, you're twenty and fifteen. He still needs to make that adjustment from the week before. Thanks, Kyle. Ouch. Look, I do do math every now and then. So I'm 20 and 15.
SPEAKER_04I'm 20 and 15. Quincy, Kyle, and Tim all tied at 23 and 12. That's pretty incredible. I mean, that's a you guys are winning two-thirds year games there. That's pretty impressive. Um, the quarter, 14 and 20. Ouch. Quarter really sucks. Yeah. So um, but yeah, back to this week. Um, how about we talk about two of the shittiest teams in this league? Myself and uh Scotty. Both two and three. Um, if you look at the matchup, it doesn't look like he has much uh buy trouble this week. And uh I am just throwing shit out there, so I'm gonna go with Scotty on this one. He's still got Derrick Henry, he's still got Jalen Hurts, Waddle has looked much better, obviously now that Tyree Kill is out. Gainwell is maybe the lead back there in Pittsburgh. Yeah, so does he get Terry McLaurin back?
SPEAKER_02That's the question. Does he get scary Terry? Does he make a couple of tweaks to because I the way his starting lineup looks right now, I don't particularly love. I think there's a couple different things he can do, maybe. Um but I am I am gonna pick I'm gonna pick Scotty.
SPEAKER_01Um yeah, I've got Scotty. Um hate both of these rosters. Yeah, it's really it's really just really doesn't look great, but uh you know, you're starting Demarcado, and I don't think I think he's in the doghouse.
SPEAKER_04My only hope there with Demarcado is that uh the coach ended up getting fined $100,000 for punching. Can people not coach their players anymore?
SPEAKER_02Can can you not hold them accountable? I think it's garbage. That is a garbage fine.
SPEAKER_04Somebody, I did see, was it people are so soft. Was it McAfee who was like you should write into the contracts that if you drop the ball before the goal line, like you're fined a million dollars. Yeah. Because the team fines you a million dollars, you lose a million dollars. Yeah. He's like, that would end this shit real good, like fucking quick. If you guys knew you're losing a million dollars if you try to showboat a little bit. But anyway, my only hope there is Demarcado actually gets because the coach feels bad and like knows he's under some heat.
SPEAKER_01I think he's fucking bad.
SPEAKER_04He apologized to the team. I still think. Yeah, that's my hope. Yeah, I'm taking uh I'm taking Scotty. Well, I gotta find the the sound effect, and it's I'll find it. Yeah. Um I will say, I don't have Bucky Irving right now, but it'd be nice once he comes back. My team won't look as garbagey. Um But yeah. And Kyle, you were asking. I get I would hopefully what I'm planning to do is keep Bucky Irving in the sixth and keep Eggbuka in the fifth. Yeah. Next year. So uh right to bear arms versus chasing TDs. Um does Persall come back? Does Jalen Warren come back for Kendall? Those are my questions. Um Hampton is out for uh for Owen. I'm gonna go with Kendall.
SPEAKER_02I've got Ken as well.
unknownGosh.
SPEAKER_02I already wrote my picks down, by the way.
SPEAKER_01Well, I usually do. I forgot to use it.
SPEAKER_02What were you busy doing? Coloring. Coloring.
SPEAKER_01Bathing my kids like a good dad. Um gosh. I don't love cream hunt in the lineup, and I don't love Geno Smith. Cream Hunt? Did you say cream? That's what I heard. Cream Hunt.
SPEAKER_02The buttercream gang.
SPEAKER_04He's white. He's a white guy. Gold creamy. Gimme Zach. I'm taking Kendall. Uh next up, Cromartie's kids versus filling holes. Still some holes to fill. Um, yeah. Uh neighbors obviously is has been hurt for him. Um, you'd assume Kyler comes back. I don't really know what his injury was, but I don't know if Slayton's gonna play this week. Um he didn't practice today. So and and Quincy again, Quincy has the fourth most points on the season. You just haven't had the right breaks with matchups, but I'm gonna go with you in this matchup, Quincy.
SPEAKER_02I think I've picked myself every single week. Um, not doing it this week. I gotta switch things up a little bit. I'm picking Phil. Wow.
SPEAKER_01That'd be a big win for Phil.
SPEAKER_04Wow.
SPEAKER_01Um I'm going with Phil too. He's gonna put in Odunze over Slayton. Um, Daniel Jones is serviceable. I think he's just due. Give me Phil.
SPEAKER_04Gimme Cube. Next up, Big Data versus Subpar. I mean, this is the battle of the Titans right here. Top two in points on the season. I think this has got to be the matchup of the week. Um for Big Data. Um Nico is on by. Jordan Mason is on by. Um and for Pete, doesn't look like anyone of note is on by. I mean, you gotta go with Big Data. He's averaging 120 points a week.
SPEAKER_02I really wanted to be the Catrarian here and and pick subpar and um you just look at the matchup top to bottom and the names jumping off the screen for big data. It's just so intimidating. Like this is it's gonna ever week in, week out for the next eight weeks into the playoffs. It's going to be David versus Goliath. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04I mean, but who would what would you rather be in? What situation would you rather be in? Would you rather be Goliath or would you rather be David? Would you rather be the guy who's got no shot going into the game and it's all it's all fucking house money if you win it?
SPEAKER_02I want to be Goliath.
SPEAKER_04I was gonna say what are you talking about?
SPEAKER_02I'm surprised you even know that Bible story, Miles.
SPEAKER_04I was a church kid when I was younger. Um, no, we've talked about this in past years. Would you rather go in as like the one seed, you know, or would you rather go in kind of middling and come out of nowhere? This is not the same thing. Okay. Uh give me Cody. I do think it helps Cody a ton that uh Nico is on bye and you get to play AJ Brown this week against the Giants, like against a shitty defense. Yeah. I am going to go against the grain. Give me Pete. I respect that a lot. Whoa. Uh next up, IUI Doc versus Jake from State Farm. Um, Saquon got a little banged up. Looks like he's gonna play, though. Um, for Cameron, he's got some lineup decisions to make. Do you throw a Michael Carter in there? Do you throw a David Montgomery in there? Looks like right now he's starting like Dowdle, Harrison, Debo Samuel, JSN. He's got kind of a a good good like depth team. I'm gonna go with Cameron. Taking Jake. Gimme Cameron, he's gonna keep rolling. Gimme Cameron. SCLC Mud Dogs versus Team Beamer. Uh Jordan Addison is on by, so is uh uh TJ Hawkinson, so is Christian Kirk for Beamer.
SPEAKER_02Uh but Justin Jefferson is out for Maxwell.
SPEAKER_04Just Jefferson's out for Maxwell.
SPEAKER_02And Beamer's got the Browns tight end, who the rookie who's played well. So Rashad White, who's played well with Irving and you look at his bench, he's got some replacement pieces there that I think. Anyway, who you taking?
SPEAKER_04Ah man, this is gonna be close. I think so too. I'll go Maxwell.
SPEAKER_02Give me Beamer.
SPEAKER_04Give me Maxwell. Give me Beamer.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I mean, if you look at Beamer right now, I mean, he doesn't even have T. Higgins in his starting lineup.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. And and Maxwell starting two tight ends again. Yeah. Yeah, it's tough. Uh, Titty. This is the year. 7.0 versus Pineapple Express. I am gonna go Kyle. But I really like Abbott's team once Rasheed Rice comes back.
SPEAKER_02I'm gonna go with Braden. I think this is gonna be really close, but Quentin Johnston has slid a little bit. Kyron Williams is coming off a monster game. Dak Prescott's coming off a monster game. You're playing both Seattle running backs right now as it stands. I think you got a couple things working against you, and you don't really have any replacement pieces on the bench if you wanted to switch it up. Uh I'm gonna go with Braden with a big bounce back game from Brian Thomas Jr. against Seattle and Josh Allen going off at Atlanta.
SPEAKER_01Oh, this is tough. Um, I'm gonna have to go with myself. I still think uh, you know, it's gonna be a tough matchup. I don't think I don't know if Crosby Merritt puts up another you know 30-point game almost. Um I think Johnson dunks max. So go with myself.
SPEAKER_05Well, Jack, here's the deal. I'm the best there is. Plain and simple. I mean, I wake up in the morning I'm getting excellence. I'm back on the team, guys. Can't believe you picked in some next week.
SPEAKER_03I gotta keep up my numbers.
SPEAKER_02So that's Abbott. Yeah, give me Abbott. Those are the matchups for week six. Almost at the halfway point of the regular season. Yep. Yikes.
SPEAKER_04So did the trade make the league more interesting or less interesting?
SPEAKER_02Doesn't make the league more or less interesting, Miles. It makes the league pissed.
SPEAKER_01Pissed off. Yeah, I was gonna say.
SPEAKER_04So does that make it more interesting or less interesting? I do think the league has been in a little bit of a lull the last couple seasons. Like, we didn't even have a rules meeting last year. I'd say the last couple seasons have been like fairly drama-free and just sort of like I don't think the these are not the actions to create engagement. There are more creative Your logic is let's see if we can break it. Okay, so if I would have if if who's an average team this year? Kindle. If I would have made this trade with Kindle for you know two flex pieces, would it have been this much of an outrage? Yes, probably still.
SPEAKER_01But see, I don't think Kindle would have done it because I think Kindle would have been like, that's not really fair. I I don't I don't want maybe he wouldn't, but here's the deal.
SPEAKER_04When I was pitching this to people, no one was like, that's not fair. It was I don't have the pieces. I didn't look at the team. I don't want to do it.
SPEAKER_01Um we were talking like one one maybe one. No, I don't know.
SPEAKER_04My entire team is for sale. The whole thing. I just didn't think you'd do something that crazy.
SPEAKER_01Is it really that crazy? Or is it crazier to have fucking four wins on the season? It's crazier for this early, I still think. We push trade deadline back. When's when's trade deadline? Is it week nine or ten?
SPEAKER_04I think it's nine.
SPEAKER_01But it's I mean, I forget. Um I wanna say it's like ten, but um nine or ten. I just think it's quite early to to just do something that drastic. You know, maybe a trade deadline. I could have understood that if you're like, there's no way. Yeah, but when you're last place in points. I don't think you're last place in points.
SPEAKER_04No, I was last place in points. And if I wouldn't have done it, I would still be last place in points. I ended up scoring like 14 more points this week than I would have if I would have kept the other roster. No, obviously that's one way you could play.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, and in fact, I did receive a a message about that.
SPEAKER_04I I figured it out of like who I was actually gonna play, who I wasn't gonna play, and it was around 14.6.
SPEAKER_01One week. I agree. And then if you're scoring 50 next week, what what are you gonna be like? Still more than what 37?
SPEAKER_04No, no, I agree, but I yeah, I still didn't have a running back. I still didn't like the team. I'm starting fucking AJ Brown getting six points a week.
SPEAKER_02Sure. Any final thoughts not related to this Miles Cody trade?
SPEAKER_01Can we not talk can we not talk like that? This is it. This is no more talk about the trade.
SPEAKER_02I don't think you can say that. I mean, because who knows what happens. I just don't want it to consume the podcast.
SPEAKER_01Well, I don't want him bringing it back every time about every single thing.
SPEAKER_04Well, see, this is what I I but I agree with the league. It sucks that it had to do that it was.
SPEAKER_02Start your own podcast under the CCBL banner to talk about this. Don't use the the flagship show for it.
SPEAKER_01Does uh does anyone believe that uh Corbin actually did pick up trash? No. When I don't think he did either.
unknownNo.
SPEAKER_04It's nice that you went out there for the second time though. Second time? I actually plan to do it three times. It's nice that this was a motivating factor for you to get away. How long did it take?
SPEAKER_01Uh it was probably about like 20 minutes, 30 minutes. Yeah. Uh that's it? Well, I've got I'm on a four-wheeler, so I you know, it's it's actually not like this is where Corbin, I know he's this is how I know he's totally bullshit. Because one, he didn't take a picture. Somebody would have took a picture just to have proof. But number two, he said, there's never trash in there. No, there's always trash. You just have to like it's not expensive.
SPEAKER_04What's funny too is he all he does is drive around all day anyway. So like he couldn't have just driven around. Well, yeah, he was literally pointing it out that day. Pick some trash up. Uh yeah, he texted me, he's like, I went 20 minutes out of my way to go make sure Kyle's picking up trash. Are there certain days you have to do it?
SPEAKER_01No, I mean that maybe through the state, but it's like I just go out there and do it. And how many times are you expected to go according to the state?
SPEAKER_04Isn't it twice? Three. Oh, three times. Three times a year. Okay. Three times a year. And submit like proof or whatever. And the only reason I know that is because I'm the one who signed us up for it because Corbin hadn't done it months into his So do you need pictures from from me? No, it's just uh it's a form that you fill out. I can I'll find it. Yeah, send it to me and I'll I'll fill it out. Yeah, and you're supposed to beforehand like tell them and you can get like trash bags and bullshit and stuff, but it's like whatever. Um they'll come pick up the trash too, but there's everyone just uses your community dumpster anyway, Kyle. Yes.
SPEAKER_01Uh this week uh the find was um well in the dumpster, the find was a car seat. Uh I texted Kindle, I was like, The choice was made.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, Kindle Kindle brings all of his trash and disposes.
SPEAKER_02Wait, so just to be clear, so uh if I have garbage, I can take it to a dumpster. The community does it. Wait, Kindle got rid of a car seat? Car seat, yeah. I swear to god, Kylie told Anne they were giving us a car seat.
SPEAKER_04See, because every time I have garbage, I've been taking it to shine, but but now if I have big stuff, I can take it out to Garab.
SPEAKER_01You can 100% take it there. Um But the find in the ditch this week was the uh the full three full uh cans of beer. Did you have one? Did you taste it? I thought about like cleaning them up and keeping on. Was there a date on them? I didn't know how long have they been laying there? That's how you know how long they've been laying there. I should I should have looked. I didn't even I didn't even look at the date. So now that's that's two finds. The first find was uh a big old uh oil funnel, and then uh this time was uh an open beer. So who knows what the third time is. How long does it take you to clean the ditches? Well, it was like 20, 30 minutes. It's not too, it just depends on like how many t how big it is and like how many.
SPEAKER_04It's from basically like the sign or farmwell to what like the the bend into Camden. Oh god, I don't go that far. It's three miles. Oh fucking shit. So I go, I go It's supposed to be, I think it's Sulo's like those the the the grain bins right before the.
SPEAKER_01Oh fuck. Okay, well then I have to go a little further. I the um because there's like the the way the ditch drops off is you get over like further um which now the crops are off, it'd be easier for me to hop around off of it uh and through the field. But uh I usually go from the warehouse. I start at the warehouse and then I go probably like a quarter of a mile to half a mile past the sign. So yeah, it's it's definitely I didn't know it was three miles.
SPEAKER_04No, so it starts at the sign and goes towards Camden.
SPEAKER_01So I'm technically doing a little bit more. I'm just not in the red area. Not quite in the right area.
SPEAKER_04How are the uh how are the kerokana crops looking?
SPEAKER_01Um well so far from what I've seen is pretty good. Uh corn has been, I'd say, probably better than expected. Beans are probably uh yeah, so uh my prediction would be that this market probably doesn't have a lot of upside potential. Um it's going good. I mean, you know, you're gonna have so far. I'd say um you know, Quincy and or sorry, not Quincy, Pete and Kendall and uh Brain could chime in on this a little bit, but I'd say probably most guys are at least over fifty percent done. Most probably are pretty much done with beans and uh pushing full tilts on corn. The interesting thing was last week probably the week before that, we had corn that was coming out around like 25%, and then by the end of the week it was coming out at like 17%. Is this just crazy? Is this Kyle's ag hour?
SPEAKER_04I would I this should be a poll. Would people rather listen to me talk or listen to Kyle's ag hour? I honestly want to know. I thought it was uh it just I think I think we we get uh each week we get uh Kyle, Ken, Braden, Pete, and just give like a quick egg report.
SPEAKER_01That's actually really good. Yeah. Have a different perspective of it.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. I will say there's no way. I don't think Corbin ever cleaned that ditch.
SPEAKER_01And yeah, him him literally, he was like reading off the stuff off the state, like, oh, did you do this? Did you do this? It's like, but did you?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, like if the only reason he knew about it is because I did it in front of him while we were sitting at dinner, because he's like, Oh, there's a lot of paperwork and things I got assigned to sign us up for, and I'm like, I'm doing it for my phone right now. I mean, why wouldn't you take a picture to prove it? Yeah. Um I all I also too would be in favor of at least discussing harsher last place punishment. I mean, that that could also help to eliminate the sell-off.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02So that's where we're at. I think that's it for the week six CPL podcast.
SPEAKER_04It is quite fun to just try to stay alive to stay out of the ditch. It's invigorating. I have a whole I have like a whole new revitalized spirit versus the season.
SPEAKER_01It's it's fun. Hey, there there is uh one big thing, but as we go, uh Quincy's uh hopefully by next week should have an addition to the uh to the family. You want to comment on that?
SPEAKER_02Fully cooked. Yeah, the we should have a new baby girl added to the Cunningham family on Thursday.
SPEAKER_04Now do you is there a is there a name for this? Is that public?
SPEAKER_02Nora Jane. Nora Jane. That's a good name. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Have we thought about um we've thought about succession planning a little bit in the world?
SPEAKER_02Might as well tell the podcast because the Ross has told everyone to Girl County already. So we so Keith. I got a text from Deb. Yeah, Keith. Are you telling people the name? Keith.
SPEAKER_04So I ran into it because I we hadn't told her yet. Keith at a Purdue game like three, four weeks ago, and he's like, Do you know the name? And I was like, Yeah, Quincy told us. And he's like, none of our family knew the name. Kindle knew the name. And I was like, Yeah, you just have to ask Quincy, he'll tell you. So note to self, don't tell Kendall a secret. But succession planning, should we have a mandatory retirement age in the CCPL? Like, you know, like I I don't know. Is there a is there a time? Because we've put in there that you can hand your team down to your, you know, your kids. What does that rule exactly say?
SPEAKER_01I forget. I think it's a little I still think it's can to me it still seems like if if our kids don't live in Carroll County or have possession in Carroll County, okay that it's I to me it looks like it's still gray area where they could technically it is still gray though, because so like you could just move your your family up there for like a month and then come back and then they have lived in Carroll County.
SPEAKER_04Okay. Like what if they spend a summer or something, yeah? I don't know.
SPEAKER_01Well, that's I mean, yeah. I I think I think we should just maybe tweak that a little bit, but um anyways, I don't know. And then just institute a mandatory retirement age.
SPEAKER_02There is a pro I think there is a provision in there though, if you like die unexpectedly or something.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, so if you die unexpectedly, so yeah, so it's how much I mean that's a real possibility, Kyle.
SPEAKER_04A hundred percent. But when when Ann kills Quincy, though, that will be definitely expected. I have to die.
SPEAKER_01I don't know if you've heard about Quincy and I's family history, but I have to potentially die unexpectedly in order for my one of my kids to get the team. Silver lining dying of natural causes.
SPEAKER_04Silver lining for the kids.
SPEAKER_02Hey Kyle, were you submitting the league picture to the Carroll County comment?
SPEAKER_01No, you always do that.
SPEAKER_04You were supposed to do that one.
SPEAKER_02You didn't ask me to.
SPEAKER_04I'm not the commissioner. Wait, we don't have one from the draft this year. It wasn't in the comment. I forgot. Hasn't been submitted the comet.
SPEAKER_02I thought you were the one who always takes care of that. Assuming things is a problem. You know, we still got time.
SPEAKER_01You actually should do it because you caused so many problems at the draft this year.
SPEAKER_04Weren't you gonna buy the Carol County Comet at some point?
SPEAKER_01And oh, by the way, I did all the setup this year. I did also extra stuff. Make sure the keg, and then you guys also bitched about the freaking food after it was already set up. That is what you no. You bitched about the food. If you wanted to bring cold cut Jimmy John, we do pizza. Several people were on it.
SPEAKER_02Bye everybody.
