Speaker 2It was freaking cool to express , but you know , moving along . You know , guys , we are in the holidays and we want to know a little bit more what you guys do and your traditions . What I want to talk about right now , though , is presence . Who doesn't like presence ? I love presence , I think everybody does right , but sometimes we get annoying presence , like dumb presence . You know what I mean .
Speaker 1For sure , we definitely get presence that we might not like , but we gotta take them because it's a thought that comes at the end of the day . But before we get into that , I just want to say a quick thank you to everybody once again . Thank you , thank you , thank you . So , compa , talk to me . We . Have you gotten any presents that you already bad presents that you've gotten in the past that you didn't like and you wanted to be like ? What the hell ? Why , why , why did I get this ? I don't even need it . You know that kind of thing I got .
Speaker 2yeah , I have a few uh , worst gifts in my in my day , and I also had some best and thoughtful gifts , right , uh , but the worst one by far , if I have to go back . I had a dumb colorful tie and even like the , the texture of the tie was like , so fake and it was just like I know , I I love ties , and I'm pretty sure the person that gave me the the gift was was trying to be nice and thoughtful , but the tie was horrible . Man , it was one of the worst gifts that I had , so it was just by far , uh , to my disliking . Um , however , though , my best gift and this came from my son . Actually , you know , I I am notorious for losing my keys . What up , jay ? Yep , what up , jay .
Speaker 2I am notorious for losing my wallet and my keys , and for Christmas I think it was like last year or two years ago , I'm not so sure he gave me this thing called Tile , right , look it up , guys , it's amazing . I totally will recommend it . It's basically , you can put it in your key chain or you can put it in your wallet , and it has a sound system , right , so , and you can connect it to your phone , so when you lose your wallet , you could go to the tile application and you could see where your wallet is and you could even , you know , press a button and it'll make a sound and it will alert the person that has the wallet uh , your name and your address and where to mail it . Right , so it is a great application . So , you know , shout out to my son , jake , for being thoughtful for that , and that was one of my actually best gifts that I had . To this day I use it and it's amazing .
Speaker 1Nice , nice , that sounds cool . I actually one of my worst gifts that I got is we did a secret stand at one of my jobs and you know , I went out of my way and I got my . The person I got . I went out and I got him a nice fitted . I got him a nice baseball hat . You know who doesn't like baseball hats ? Right , we all like them . And when we , when the time came and I opened up my present and you know what , what this present was compa , what it was seaweed chip I was like what the fuck this must have cost , like you know what . It doesn't even matter what the cost was , but it looks like nobody .
Speaker 2It's like nobody took an effort . Actually , they're delicious , though . You know what mean to see , I'm allergic to shellfish I could have died .
Speaker 1I couldn't , you know , that's right , that's what I'm saying , oh wow , but you know , again , it's a thought that counts . It was , uh , it was , it was fine . I think he was just trying to pull a prank . He was trying to kill you . Yeah , seriously , he might have got a might need an epien after that .
Speaker 1But yeah , and then the best . You know what ? I'm real easy , I like everything that is given to me . I don't really have like a best one . I like everything , everything that my wife has given me some really good gifts , my sisters , my brother and you know , it's all . They're all great , they're all . I don't really have a specific one that I really enjoy .

Speaker 1So that those were , those were my , my , my , my worst and my best is all all the presents that I get from from everybody and the ones , yeah , very nice and yeah , I mean , I mean that's , that's , those are the type of like gifts that , uh , that that keep on coming .
Speaker 2You know , we , we definitely enjoy gifts , presents , and we can't wait for this year what we're going to receive but also give . So can't wait for that .

Speaker 1We have a big family , both of us . There's a lot , of , a lot of children in our families . Yeah , let's keep it . A buck , uh-huh who buys all the price ?
Speaker 2oh , by far . My wife . Oh , my god . Yeah , my wife is a saint . It's a pan de dios . My wife buys all the gifts . I don't do anything but just make sure that I got bacon in my bank , and my wife does the rest .
Speaker 1This is true . I help her , but she does most of the shopping for just about everybody . I love you , babe , appreciate you .

It wasn't that hard . Oh , it was hard , which I mean it's gonna drop down to the next , the next uh topic that we're talking about holiday pet peeves , man , we all have them .
Speaker 2Those long lines are absolutely horrible , and this is why I don't do the shopping . But you know what's my freaking pet peeve is ? My family is notorious for having presents , buying presents at the last minute , like literally the last minute , and like I'm like , why do we do this ? Like , why do we do this to ourselves ? And obviously there's other reasons why either the timing or , you know , we're too busy , and this is blah , blah , blah , blah , blah . But no , we could make time to buy these gifts , we could have done this in november , but we always leave it to the last minute , and I and I'm pretty sure there's families out there that do the same thing . So I know I'm not the only one , but that is the biggest pet peeve . I look at my wife . I'm like how the hell do we do this to ourselves ? Oh man , but that's , that's one of mine . How about you , though ?
Speaker 1I want to say , um , the crowded lines , like I said , are really . It just gets so , so hot and like I'm , I'm impatient . I'm not a patient person .
Speaker 2Yeah , and when it comes down to shopping , and I want to just like freaking pile , drive them or just push them away I just want to like you know what ?

Speaker 2You're definitely right , and the only thing about it is also , when I look at that long line , I'm looking at the cashier and they I look at them and they're not even working with no sense of urgency . You know what I mean ? Like they're just like , really really taking their them and they're not even working with no sense of urgency . You know what I mean ?

It's hard to deal with a bunch of nutcases running around in the mall , wherever you guys do your shopping , so it's a hard job . You know . They got to deal with a lot , a lot of people , you know , complaining about everything prices oh this is not the right price , blah , blah . But I think , yeah , I think , the long lines and the waiting is definitely one of mine , uh , one of my uh pepys that I don't like yeah , I mean .

Speaker 1I literally , as soon as Thanksgiving is over , I turn on Light FM and that's all they play . That's what I write to right , that's , that's my thing .
Speaker 2I mean , you know , that's what I , that's what I put in my um , in my headphones . You know , listening to christmas , you know it just gets me in the mood . So you know , I'm all about positivity and manifesting that . And so when you , when , you're listening to christmas music . Who doesn't want to be positive , who doesn't want to be joyful ? Christmas Memories and Traditions
Speaker 1Do you have any childhood memories from Christmas or like the holiday season ?

Speaker 1Childhood or adult , as either word . Is there something that sticks out to you that you can remember now ?
Speaker 2Yeah , man , my childhood memories , man , were awesome when it came to Christmas . We used to spend it with my .
Speaker 1He's about to get deep . Ladies and gentlemen , Go ahead , compa .
Speaker 2My voice changed right , jesus Christ . My voice changed right , jesus Christ . I think that when I was , I think my childhood was really special in regards to the holidays , because I used to spend it with my mother's family and , you know , everybody used to get together and celebrate and dance . It was on Christmas Eve . For everybody to know , we latinos we celebrate christmas eve , so it's like a big festive festivities . We dance , we uh , we share memories , we eat good food and when I was , you know , in my childhood , I used to be with my cousin , so all , all the cousins used to just , you know , chill and have fun and , and you know , just have a good time . We used to dance with our mothers , we used to run around , act crazy , jump in the bed , you know , ready to open our presents . You know we were badasses , so we kind of knew what we had , because we used to , like , sneak into our parents' room and , you know , look at our presents .
Speaker 1I know the childless madre .
Speaker 2Yeah , the childless madre . That's who we , our presence . I know each other's mother . Yeah , that's all y'all . You know my cousin shout out to all my cousins , I won't name you , but you already know who you are . You know , I have a special place in my heart when it comes to those type of ? Um memories , because those were the memories that you know , that got us close even to this day .
Speaker 2So those were the , those are the memories that I that I remember the most just being with the family , with my cousins , and just spending christmas together and new year's . It was , it was fun . We , you know memories and and and I'm I'm pretty grateful for it , and then for my adult , it has to be with my family . I mean , it's a whole different 360 , because now you have a family on your own and you're seeing your family , you know , celebrating Christmas and how happy they are and you know , and it's all because you know we together and the love is there and just a perfect time for us to reflect and just spend time with each other , you know . So I went deep Pause . How about you , oompa ? Yes , you did .
Speaker 1Yes , you did . You know what ? I'm listening to us on this podcast on our headphones . I see that it's recording , but I don't know if it's actually recording , so I guess we'll find out . Is it says zero hours up there ? Anyway ?
Speaker 2Yeah .
Speaker 1We'll find out . Might have to do this again . Okay , hopefully not . Okay , yeah , same Ditto . A family is . We both have my wife and I has . My wife has a huge family and I have a . I spend christmas day , christmas eve , with my family and christmas day with uh , with hers , and it's just a just a lot of fun , making silly jokes and playing games or open up presents . You know , all these kids are like , all my nephews are , all they're all old , older now , you know . So watching them grow up , beautiful things to watch all of them , every single one of them . And then also we . Every year we go to connecticut and we go cut our tree .
Speaker 2Oh , really yeah , we go cut our tree down from Connecticut . Yeah , it's great , it's a good experience .
Speaker 1We do that every year . We've been doing that for like what ? Maybe six years now oh really and , yeah , that's one of the one of the best things that we do through the holidays now let me ask you this question compa , on the 25th , do you get a ?
Speaker 2do you do a gringo christmas , and what I mean by gringo ? Do you , freaking , dress like pajamas , like everyone has to dress the same pjama ?
Speaker 1no , no , we've done pajama night and we've done it I think , only white folks do that . No , I think a lot , of a lot of people do it .
Speaker 2Well , unfortunately , guess what ? I do it every year with my family . My wife loves that shit . My wife loves to buy pajamas for everyone and we have to wear that same on Christmas Day , and I don't know why . But you know , I go with it because it's my wife . Yeah , La ley , La ley . So you know .
Speaker 1Me growing up as a child . You , you miss , and I wish they were still around . It's the white christmas man , like I wish . I wish it snowed like how it used to snow here in new york , don't you like it's like it doesn't snow out here , no more . That was always fun , going out with the with you , with the homies , and just making snowman and just having a fucking ball . Right now , just , it's just break nowadays . I think those were . That's one of my , one of my best memories as a child during , like , the holiday season I agreed .
Speaker 2I mean you know it used to snow a lot in new york city , but now you know you could call it global warming , call it however you want .
Speaker 1I mean it's temperatures are different , different yeah , with that I mean , with that being said , I think we're gonna . We're gonna wrap it up here on this Christmas episode with with Small Talk with Compa yeah , yeah , yeah , I mean it's .
