NFL Playoff and College Football National Championship Predictions
all right, welcome back. It's the north florida sports network network. This nitwit, it's playoffs. Man, we're here with the usual suspects for picks. Um, let's go over last week's playoff standings, where we get started. Jimmy five and one last week's playoff jimmy um myself and justin, three and three and then mike, the regular season champ 1-5. So, yeah, but overall that puts it right down the middle.
Speaker 2:We got four.
Speaker 1:Yeah, overall as a show we're still not losing. Positive take. We got four this week and this is a lot of people's favorite favorite week. Um, this is, uh, super bowl week. It's probably my third. Um, it's gotten to that point where it's not about a game. You know there's so much stuff, there's only one game. I think I like divisional round the best and then but I I definitely championship. Sunday is best day.
Speaker 1:I feel, like you get two days still with division around and sometimes you get the best matchups. So it's really close between this week and next week. But I usually go with this week and start Saturday with probably the worst matchup of the four, and it's the Texans going to the chiefs. The interesting part about this. It will be the line, and I think it's eight and a half right now, and the Texans are getting that. That's big, too much. All right, let's start with you, mike, who you got in this Eight and a half.
Speaker 1:Texans are getting eight and a half. In Kansas City it starts at 430.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I'm going to take Houston. I think Chiefs will win by probably four, three or four yeah, more or less. So I'm going to take Houston to cover this eight and a half.
Speaker 1:All right, all right, let's go to Justin, who you got yeah, that's that.
Speaker 4:Uh uh, kansas city doesn't blow anybody out, man. They haven't blown anybody out all season. I I don't think they start in the playoffs. When the competition gets better, I think they win.
Speaker 1:But yeah, um, houston played well. Um, I did not see that last week, um, but I do see kansas city winning this game by double digits. Um, I think they turned it on. I think this is time, I think this is what they've been waiting for. Um, I I don't see anything stopping them, uh, and when, I don't think they're gonna screw around with getting close, I think this is what old Patty Mahomes, old Fat Kelsey, he's going to turn it on. You got all the other dudes that have stepped up. Pacheco's back Defense is the strength of the team, so the offense will step up and match them and they will get the win, probably, I'd say 34-20.

Speaker 1:Um, we'll get, uh and that is saturday night the commanders against the lions. This will be a fun matchup. This is, uh. I mean, what a fun team theers have been to watch this season. Some of the endings they have close games and they're really good at them. I mean think about some of the best endings all year. I think of the Commanders games. I mean, you have that Hail Mary at the end. You have the Jaden Daniels a couple of drives. He's cool man.
Speaker 3:Exciting team with boring uniforms and stupid names. Right, the uniforms are the worst in the league.
Speaker 1:They need to redo that.
Speaker 2:They're so bad.
Speaker 1:They're so bad I mean they should at least just keep the old ones and get rid of the Indian dude or whatever, and just put the Ws, keep the colors and that. But these are terrible. Anywho, I like jayden daniels. He's been, you know, really good. He's really cool and collective um, unlike a lot of rookie quarterbacks, but this is a good class. I think he's the top of it, uh. But he's going into the lion's den and dan campbell and the motor city freaking train, the man train, the man train. Motor city is hosting all throughout the playoffs. You saw the atmosphere against minnesota. The commanders are getting. Let's see here. Last time I looked, it's up to nine commanders are getting nine. Jim, who you got?

Speaker 1:Philly is hosting the rams. This is another big one um contract. They met, matched up earlier in the season. The eagles won, big saquon went off on the lions. Uh set a playoff record last week with nine sacks. Um verson didn't get one. He did have a touchdown, uh, but the whole, I mean it was just spread out, they just got it. They kind of they're coming at you fresh in waves. Um, they really did a nice job at replacing um the all-timer and it looks like these games are gonna have both these games are going to have snow.
Speaker 1:This is exciting. So you got Philly, who looked kind of sloppy last week offensively. The defense, though, might be one of the hardest-hitting units going around, but you got Matt Stafford going in there. When the Rams are healthy, I see them competing with anybody in the league, and I'm going to stick with that. I think they cover, I think they win. Give me the Rams 28. Give me 27 over the Eagles Late touchdown to win it Down 27-21. How about that? All right, let's go to uh mike, who you got in this what is the actual?
Speaker 2:spread sorry six eagles by six yeah, eagles, six geez. Yeah, they're right to me, I think I think the eagles are gonna win, but uh, I think, man, their defense is a lot tougher than yeah.
Speaker 1:We'll give them credit for well they matched earlier and the Rams got ran all over. So that's probably what they're looking at, but six.
Speaker 2:Rams have kind of picked it up. Eagles offense isn't quite clicking. I'm going to go 24 to 20.
Speaker 1:Eagles here. So I like the Rams to cover, I'll take the Eagles All, so Rams cover I'll take the Eagles. All right, gotcha.
Speaker 3:All right, jimmy, what you got in this 24-23 Rams. All right, that's my Super Bowl pick so late field goal to win it.
Speaker 1:Yeah, something like that. Yeah, it's going to be. I mean it's going to be. I'm hoping for that kind of game for the sake of the Rams. They need to come out and get the lead early. So I need Matt Stafford to come out, hook up with, give me one of those scripted plays. Give me that, but we'll see. Justin, you just finished off this.

Speaker 1:We're all on the Rams to cover, so the Eagles will probably win. I don't know, though, the way they were playing at the end of the game. I didn't like, and just Stafford, and just the way I've said it all year Rams when they're healthy, but they haven't been healthy. You know what's the money line.

Speaker 1:oh, that's a good pick right there. That would, might, that might be my bet um how much is it? Oh okay, let's see money now you get plus 225, all right, so this is the game of the week.
Speaker 1:This next one, uh, this might be the one of those matchups, um, for who's gonna get to play kansas city. You know who's gonna challenge them the most. This is for that matchup. Yeah, I believe you're gonna have a pick them game. Whoever wins this game going into Kansas city? Probably less than three, but this game is actually Buffalo getting one at home in the playoffs, which is unheard of Baltimore, minus one going in to Buffalo. Now, these teams did face each other in the regular season in Baltimore, where the Ravens handled them easily. This is going to be a different story. We'll see, jimmy, who you got.
Speaker 3:Well, bill's also a Super Bowl team. I got him 38-20. Wow, put in a convincing win.

Speaker 1:I know what you, I know what I have all the respect for your take, though, and it's fair, and, but I think having that tank in the backfield is not only the difference. It's going to allow lamar not to play with the, I would say, pressure that he had in previous post seasons. This one's going to have you a tank where you can just hand this ball off and that's what they should do and then that way, you can use lamar as a weapon. That he is where he can run or throw. He still he. He went over all-time leading rushing yards, so you have this weapon with. With that tank in the back foot, I'm going ravens here 27, 23 in buffalo bold. Yeah, I, I just think that it's there, think that it's the time. I think having I mean it's time for both. This is a huge game. I can't wait for this game. This is a legacy game for Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson.

He went to Virginia. Tony Bennett quit two months after that. Yeah, anybody watch Pitt basketball with Cam Korn, the guy that Florida State transferred. He got shut down.
Speaker 1:So my theory is Leonard Hamilton's just recruiting these grenades to send out amongst the ACC and just bring everybody down. Wow, so Jeff Capel's on the list next.

Speaker 1:It was a fun game. They need to redo where they put the students. We need to bring the students closer to the floor. The students have been showing up for almost 10 years now and they keep coming, especially these games at 9. You're not going to have older fans show up Hell. No, it really would up the the atmosphere and that means a lot now. So you know, you have an option to war, fit your seat or something like that, and so it's all digital. So just where it makes the environment better.
Speaker 1:I wouldn't necessarily you're not stealing anybody's seats or whatnot but you know, if I was a season ticket holder, I would want somebody screaming in my seats if I couldn't be there myself. That's just me, but that's just the thought I had sitting there in the season ticket holder section, where a lot of seats go to firms and corporations and stuff. So I don't know. But that's just.
