SPEAKER_00:Oh man. We also got um Miami Joe contributor. He's gonna tell us what he thinks is gonna happen from the Miami point of view. The number three hurricanes come to the number 18 Florida State Central Saturday night at Doe Campbell Stadium, 7.30 prime time on ABC. Miami is four and a half. Point favorite. Jump on it. Yeah, it's it's gone down. So yeah. I don't know why. Well, people think Florida State's gonna. They were like, oh, well, it's six and a half. I'll take that. Yeah, that's true. It was six, it was like five and a half or six and a half. They're like, well, it's gonna be a close game. You know, and weary, and they might win. But if they they'll probably lose, it'll probably but I think they'll keep it close. So like I can see that bet. When was when was the last four and a half now? When was the last single-digit game? I mean, look it up, man. I don't have my phone.
SPEAKER_02:That's something that the producer needs to be doing.
SPEAKER_00:Alright, well, uh.
SPEAKER_02:I believe it was the game that got Manny Diaz fired. Fourth and 14.
SPEAKER_00:Well, there's been a lot of things. Yeah, ooh, Hero Doke.
SPEAKER_01:I know we had one here at Doke recently. Block at the Rock. How was that that game?
SPEAKER_02:Yeah. Oof. Let's see. Last year wasn't. No. The year before that wasn't. 2022 was not.
SPEAKER_00:23 was close.
SPEAKER_02:It wasn't single digits. Uh was it? No. No.
SPEAKER_00:Alright. Well, I mean historically.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah. I think it was 2021. No, no, no, no, no. Yeah, COVID year was a blowout.
SPEAKER_01:Scott, was the last time here at Doug Campbell where Tyler Van Dyke didn't get the spike down in time?
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, yeah, it was that one.
SPEAKER_01:I was at that game.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah. Yeah. It's I mean, it's a close rivalry. I go to this game a lot. It's a close rivalry. It's it's if there has it, there's been some historically it's close. Right. When both teams are competitive. Both teams, yes, last year we had one team that was two and ten. All right. So even in that game, they they played probably. Yeah. You could tell why. You know, so I think you're going to get a fun game. You have two teams that have weapons. Miami's got a Miami has the advantage at a lot of places. Florida States, though, has has some playmakers on the field. I think this is going to be a fun game. What are your initial thoughts, Justin?
SPEAKER_01:Well, I actually I agree with a lot of what you're saying. Um I think uh this game's gonna be decided like every Miami game this year, by the line of scrimmage on both sides. And I've been saying all year, Miami's got the best line in the country. And Reuben Bain on defense is a top five pick. I think Miami wins up front both sides. Um and yeah, I I mean I'm I'm feeling pretty good going into the game outside of it's Miami and FFU, so I'm paranoid because of that. I mean, it'd be like if I was playing Georgia Tech, it were better than Georgia Tech, but I would also be scared of Schitler.
SPEAKER_04:I don't know.
SPEAKER_00:Georgia Tech, they almost lost away for us.
SPEAKER_01:Doesn't matter, Georgia Tech always beats us.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah. Well, Kirk Hurtfried's coming. Sneaking in like a scared little bitch that he is. Game Day is going to Vanderbilt, Alabama. They were just looking for a reason. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01:Cost us game day. Man, how perfect would that have been, dude? We'd have to game day and and y'all are doing the whole weekhorse thing.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, they wanted to come, not really, because they went to Miami, Florida. Why would they have to be a good one?
SPEAKER_01:I know I'd have rather had them at this game.
SPEAKER_00:Why I that was quite that was when I was like, what that was my radar went up, was like, well, they're not coming. Why would they go to the Miami game two weeks before this game against the Warfare? Oh, yeah, like the Miami-Florida game? Like that, that top ten teams, that the god awful gators, you're hosting the Gators, there's game day for that? No, it's horse shit. It's fine. You gave them a reason. You gave them a reason. Now, I will say the Vanderbilt Alabama is an intriguing matchup, but they come on. But it's Vanderbilt. Yeah, they don't want to have Herb Street booed the whole time. And not for a one-loss team. If you would have won, if you would have won, though, if they would have Florida State would have won, they would have had to have come.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, exactly. That's what I was saying. If Florida State didn't lose to Virginia, there would have been no excuse.
SPEAKER_00:Yep. Alright, but I think it's better for FSU's chances. Alright, I'm gonna go that route. Right? I'm gonna say they're gonna need to go off to Virginia. Yeah, I think FSU's gonna need all the help they can get. And when I mean, I mean they're gonna need 100% focus, they're gonna need attention to detail, they're gonna they're gonna need because they're they're gonna, like you said, physicality, they're going against an out they're outmatched in a lot of places. So they're gonna have to fight their ass off and be in the right spot to make game-changing plays. Yep. That's what they have to do. Probably gotta hope that Miami doesn't play their best game, too. Well, that yeah, that's where uh that's pretty much what we're saying. Is like if you bait if both teams play their best, Miami's gonna win. That's what Vegas is saying. Yeah, that's what the lines are saying. But like you still, this is a this is a rivalry game. It's at night, man.
SPEAKER_01:Like you never And you gotta take in the you gotta consider the crystal ball shitting the bed tape.
SPEAKER_00:There's new coaches on Florida State side, so you don't really know. It could go either way there.
unknown:Yeah.
SPEAKER_01:New decent. But wasn't Crystal Ball on uh Sabin staff at Alabama when Malzon was at Auburn?
SPEAKER_00:Yeah. Yeah, this is a this is gonna be a fun matchup, man. I have a I have a might be raining. All right. Think you're gonna see a lot of run of the football though. I mean both sides are gonna run. It's gonna be a lot of different runs.
SPEAKER_01:You'll have yeah, no, Malzon's gonna have to scheme it up against our defensive line, dude. I mean, I don't think our defense has allowed 200 total yards in offense yet this season.
SPEAKER_00:Oh, yeah, there's definitely gonna have that's what I meant. They're gonna have to be on assignment. Everyone's gonna have to do their job, and they're gonna have to catch the ball, don't fumble the ball, make the correct assignment and move the ball. And well on defense, they have to line up correctly. That's the first, and then they have to make Miami earn it. And make Miami have to make those tough throws, and and and if they do it, tip your hat. But give it make it hard. Don't let them just hand it off right down the field. Yeah. You know, run blitz, make them have to throw it. You know, make him have to move off of his spot. There's a lot of things Florida State can do here. And uh, but Miami, they'll have to, they'll have a response. I'm anxious to see that cat and mouse game. Because it's gonna be a lot, the Florida State's gonna come out with something. And I think Miami's gonna just like, what are you gonna do? We're gonna beat you, we're gonna just see what you're gonna do first. So I think that's Florida State's best shot.
SPEAKER_01:Well, what I'm interested to see is uh from what I'm hearing uh uh down at Coral Gables, dude, that um our actual number one running back is uh supposed to play Saturday night. Jordan Lyle, the super, super fast guy. And uh Jojo Tw JoJo Trader, the wide receiver, who uh I was waiting to see all season, hasn't played yet, is supposed to have his first game Saturday night, too. So we're adding two more weapons to that offense.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, it's it's gonna be we're gonna be down Ashlyn Barker at safety. So that means walk on, Donnie Abbear is gonna be getting a lot more time back there. Hey. I mean come on.
SPEAKER_03:You gotta give us a shot. You know what?
SPEAKER_02:Giving anybody a shot. Listen, I get it, it's a rivalry. Oh sure. I just, you know, don't let it ruin the rest of your season if you're Florida State.
SPEAKER_00:Yes, and we'll get there. We'll have plenty of time to react to that. But this is FSU Miami week. Right. And uh I think I think Florida State is better than what they showed against Virginia. Now, I I don't think they're two touchdowns better than Alabama, like but again, that was But it just goes to show you You'd never seen any of those guys play before if you're Alabama. Right, right. That's true. And we'll see how much that tape can uh if they can get something off of it, if Miami's able to shut Florida State's offense down, then it could get ugly. Yeah. But Florida State's best shot is to come out swinging, get on top, and then don't screw it up. Yeah, hold on to the game and make it make it. Keep it close and we can make it all the shit to bed. Right. Keep it close and make yeah, keep get that crowd into it, make it to where, you know, similar. Look what Virginia did last week. I know I hate to bring it back up, but I mean they came out 14 to nothing, all like boom. Yeah, there you go. It's a game. So if you come out with something like that, it's gonna be a game. Now you can't let Miami do that. Then it's it could get ugly.
SPEAKER_02:That that's that's the part that's easier said than done.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, that's true. There's it's you it you have trouble seeing a team Well, nobody's done it to Miami this year yet.
SPEAKER_02:Nobody's kept them from coming out and doing exactly what they wanted as soon as they got the ball. Right. Yeah, the defense has been crazy good. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00:Offense, they I mean offense done why they do what they have to do. Right.
SPEAKER_02:I mean every game they've played, they've they've gone on a long scoring drive to open the game. Yeah. I mean, it's so again which have all been at home.
SPEAKER_00:Right. But so this is the first test. And it's a college game, it's different on the road.
SPEAKER_02:It's a little different. Yeah. You're still not going to be outnumbered fan-wise that much. I mean, what, maybe 70-30? Oh.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, that's what I would say. I mean, I've been to a shot. You know what?

SPEAKER_01:I've been to enough FSU Miami games at Dokke, and it's typically about a 70-30 mix. Yeah. All right.

SPEAKER_02:There's a difference between going on the road. No. No. Not when Miami's good.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, not when Miami's just ain't like 1997. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:When Miami's not good and Florida State is, yeah. We'll see.
SPEAKER_00:I I cocky cane fans are all ready to show up. I I'll put money on that. There's not 30% Miami fans. They're gonna have a good showing, though. I'm not saying they won't.
SPEAKER_02:Right.
SPEAKER_00:Alright. But um Florida State getting four and a half. Both you guys taking Miami in the in the bet there.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, I'm I'm I'm I mean Yeah. Yeah. Until I see a single digital game of another kick.
SPEAKER_00:Right. Well, I think Florida State has to come out swinging. I think they can do it. But they can also lose. So it's Yeah, they can lose anybody. Right, but they can beat Miami. And we'll we don't really know though. We don't we'll we'll find we're gonna find out how good my how good Miami is. Because it looks really good.
SPEAKER_01:Florida State? Yeah. Florida State, I think, is is good for at least one explosive play on offense. And I think Carson Beck's good for at least one interception. So if y'all can parlay those two two things that I I'm almost for sure is gonna happen, then you could keep it in a cl you could keep a close game. And that's why I think it's gonna be close. I just don't think it's gonna be less than four points.
SPEAKER_02:Eight points is close. Yeah. 38-30? Yeah. No. 28-20, something like that. Like that that's close. Yeah, I mean, better than I'd expect.
SPEAKER_03:You gotta give us a shot. You know what, dude?
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, I mean, that's kind of how I see the game. I think between seven and ten points.
SPEAKER_00:I think he's gonna be a uh we'll see if he can get over the top on Miami's defense.
SPEAKER_01:You got I heard he was gonna try out for the FFC circus to be a juggler.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, he might have to juggle that. Uh jiggle jiggle. White still alive. Is he still alive? Yeah, he's gonna be. Roadkill.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, that was ridiculous. It was like the running of the bulls and stuff. It really was, man.
SPEAKER_00:It was insane.
SPEAKER_02:They were out there fast. Like that hot shots part two movie where Charlie Sheen gets smashed into the ground completely flat. I'm glad he's alright, though. Yeah, shit's scary. Yeah. I mean, the Virginia players that were down there could have gotten a lot of things.
SPEAKER_00:Right. I think they were helping each each other out, right? Hugging for safety. They're like, we gotta just make a make a view. Make a view, guys. Use your body heat. Florida State, Miami coming up. Miami's dominant offense, their new look, dominant defense with big bad bane.
SPEAKER_02:When you recruit elite levels in the trenches, eventually you get to this point. And that's what Miami's done.
SPEAKER_00:Slowly, we've seen it slowly happen. Yeah. And uh Florida State continues to just go through the transfer portal. Florida State won the game, but you could be like, all right, Miami's getting the guys on the interior line. We can go back and listen to the show.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah. Yeah, exactly. When we hired Crystal Ball, it was the first thing I said. I was like, he can recruit, but he'll choke games away, and he knows how to build the offensive defensive line. And that's what he does. And I I also I was like, four years, the talent will overcome his idiot coaching. And that's where we're at right now.
SPEAKER_00:Yep. We'll find out. This is a big game for Miami. They're going into a bye week. Coming off a bye week, going into a bye week. Yeah, so like this is right on the schedule, they're even telling you. It's like, this is it, Miami. You gotta win this one. You can't blow it. Go on a road to Louisville. Hey. Now Louisville. Louisville's ass. Yeah, I think this is it. Yeah, this is it. This is a game for Miami to lose. If they're gonna lose. If they're gonna lose, yeah. Four playoffs if not, I think Which they could do, because like I mean they could crystal ball it, but this will be the I'll never discount a good crystal ball.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah. I mean, like losing to like a Louisville or a pit or something like that randomly out of nowhere. That's what he does.
SPEAKER_00:Right. But uh they'll be ready for this game. Yeah. So I think both teams will be ready. I think you're gonna have a good game. I'm hoping.
SPEAKER_01:It's my it's my favorite game, pro or college, every single season, dude. I'll I'll take I'll take FSU Miami game over the Super Bowl all day, every day.
SPEAKER_00:Just gonna have to get interesting. Um, you got Pittman on offense floor state, who had a throwing touchdown, a catching touchdown, and a rushing touchdown. And a rushing touchdown. So he was one of your few bright spots. Uh man, uh, there's a lot of weapons on the field.
SPEAKER_01:And you know Miles Allen's gonna have something up his feet.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, there's he's gonna have something. So, and I'm anxious to see. There's gonna be a moment where Carson Beck's gonna have to step in there and make a play. Yeah. Those are those will be the moments where Florida State will have to take advantage of and maybe get that play. And then if you're Miami, you gotta see what he's made of and see if he can make that play. Right? Because those, I mean, it's gonna happen. There's gonna be it's gonna be a crazy environment. But he's he's been there before in the SEC.
SPEAKER_02:Um, I think this is almost like a I don't think he played with skill players in abundance the way he has this year with Miami. I think people get a little bit ahead of their skis because he played at Georgia and they figure, oh man, he must have had you know all this talent around him, and it's nah, he had Brock Powers. He had Brock Powers. And that dude was elite. Right. But his receivers at Georgia sucked.
SPEAKER_01:His best receiver last year in Georgia was probably Colby Young, the Miami transfer.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah.
SPEAKER_01:And now he's got I mean, he couldn't get on the field.
SPEAKER_02:It's gonna be a very tough task for Tony White. Well, you better earn your money, Tony. Keep this shit close. Trying to get embarrassed.
SPEAKER_03:You gotta give us a shot. You know what? You will get no shot, sir. You gotta give us a shot. You know what?
SPEAKER_02:Again, just don't lose the don't lose the pit, god damn it. I'm already there. I've been there for three days.
SPEAKER_00:Alright, we gotta get on out of here then. Because he's already there.

SPEAKER_02:If you win against Virginia, then this game right here, it doesn't really matter for either side outside of, you know, brag and rights rivalry.
SPEAKER_00:Right. So now it's if you lose, it's not really a bad, it's kind of a bad loss for Miami if you're Miami.
SPEAKER_02:Well, even if you're Miami, if Miami loses this game somehow and then wins out, they're still going to play.
SPEAKER_00:Well, Florida State is not a championship team this year. Right. So but it doesn't mean they can't win this game. No, that's not what I'm saying.
SPEAKER_02:But yeah, you're right, I guess.
SPEAKER_00:I just don't think the roster is where Miami sits. I think it it has you gotta just build it right. You gotta keep doing what you're doing and finding players and paying.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, you gotta get it.
SPEAKER_00:It's gonna be hard to be getting them. It's gonna be harder. You're gonna have to find those right the right guys to keep going.
SPEAKER_02:You gotta get some guys in our group. Yeah, it's a whole other story.
SPEAKER_00:Can't have a coach of death that thinks that they can just find any old slop that wants to come here and he put a lot of pressure on himself by losing to Virginia. I'll say that. Because you win against Virginia, I I hey you lose to Miami, keep it rolling, still alive, keep it rolling, right? You're still like you were 2-10 last year. Don't look at that loss to Miami. We beat Alabama.
SPEAKER_02:You know, at the end of the season, everybody lost to Miami, right? Right? That's not gonna get held against us.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, that was a bad loss. So the only way to fix it is now you gotta come around and you gotta talk it. You gotta talk the world again.
SPEAKER_02:Otherwise, you're uh back to well, I gotta motivate these guys not to shut down.
SPEAKER_00:Well, honestly, this team is gonna do that. They could easily they could beat Miami and then lose another game at NC State.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, I expect. Not to beat Miami, but to lose another game.
SPEAKER_00:I think they're gonna fight hard. I think it's gonna be a fun game.
