North Florida Sports Network Podcast

Inside FSU’s Slide, Stalled Rebuild, And What Comes Next

Austin Fletcher Season 4 Episode 406
SPEAKER_02:

Let me ask you one question The North Florida Bono Florida Florida The North Florida Network The North Florida's bono network Alright We're back It is just another football Monday We're gonna react to FSU's loss to NC State We didn't give me an NC reaction because they didn't deserve one They didn't deserve one exactly now it's Friday night FSU has made a statement they are going to retain Coach Norville for next year. We'll talk about that, the impact of that. And we got all the other football action from college and the NFL to go over. So step back, strap it up, strap it down. And get ready. As we dive into football Monday. We got one tonight, too. We got Panthers 49ers. Alright. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03:

See if they can just top off a great weekend for me.

SPEAKER_02:

My highlight of my weekend was watching Jameis catch the pass and then shaking off the linebacker and finger rolling the ball in the end zone. Right. I have I must have watched that play a hundred times. It was beautiful. Junior? Just put it on replay. What was your highlight of your weekend? Was it Bears wins? Eight to first place, eight and three bears. Eight and three bears taking care of business. Notre Dame kicked some ass as well. Notre Dame 70 to 7. Over stare, dude. Those are juniors teams. Juniors in the house watching. Yes, sir.

SPEAKER_03:

He's waving at you, everybody.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah. Try to keep the language down. For what?

SPEAKER_03:

He's down him out like a sailor.

SPEAKER_02:

FSU. Let's give that reaction. Our delayed reaction to the Florida State Seminole. Sixth loss of the year.

SPEAKER_03:

Well, he knew it was gonna be hard because you haven't won in Raleigh since 2016. And then just Mike Norvell is 0-3 against NC State.

SPEAKER_02:

This was the one that just is like the gods are telling you something. Right. Because this is like the luck started just bad. The ball was bouncing. I mean, he hits off the helmet on the punt. Which, I mean, that's I guess that's bad luck. You call it bad luck. And then the next one. You fumble the next one, and it's your defense is fighting hard, but the offense, again, can't score on the road. Again, a loss on the road for Mike Norvell. Absolutely. And but Florida State, there's nothing to do here. We can't do anything. We're just gonna have to keep him. I am uh yeah. Guy can't recruit. Can't recruit. So we're gonna have to go back to the transfer portal. Which is if you're an FSU fan, I mean, you might as well just fold it in for next year. I mean, what's there to be excited about?

SPEAKER_03:

Find an outdoor hobby for next fall for the Saturdays. Um I mean, just go ahead and put baseball and kids that are in sports, you know, go.

SPEAKER_02:

Women's soccer, baseball, basketball.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah, there you go.

SPEAKER_02:

Softball.

SPEAKER_03:

Football is is right next to Purdue. On that plane, headed to the volcano of suck.

SPEAKER_02:

Well, I mean, who's what kind of confidence do you have if you're gonna if you're gonna turn this around? I don't have any confidence. All right. First of all it looks like Florida's gonna get Lane Kiffin.

SPEAKER_03:

Whatever. I don't I don't even We're talking about three and thirteen in the ACC. Competing with teams in the SEC and competing nationally is so far away from this program right now.

SPEAKER_02:

Mike Norvell thinks it's close.

SPEAKER_03:

No, Mike Norvell.

SPEAKER_02:

All right, let me give you some perspective here, my friend. And just in terms of the last two years, if you just look at the rankings of the defense and the offense, vast improvements on both sides.

SPEAKER_03:

Right. You have improved from the worst in the country to still pretty bad most of the time.

SPEAKER_02:

That's what that means. What are you gonna do if you're an FSU fan though? What are you just gonna give up? I'm trying to find something.

SPEAKER_03:

What happens when the season, when the game is over next or Saturday down in Gainesville, and it comes out that Gus Malzon is retiring or going to coach UAB or whatever the hell he's doing, Tony White is moving on because he and Norvell don't. How are you gonna attract good established coaches? Right, you're not nobody wants to go coach for a lame duck. So you're gonna get the two guys that are already here in the program gonna just get promoted? Your quarterback coach with no I mean exactly. So what the hell are we doing here, Harry?

SPEAKER_02:

Well, we're we're just kind of I you know, you're just kind of like we're keeping it together because we don't because we don't want the foul house to fall down. We don't want the kids to get messed up. I don't know. Like there's no money, so we don't want to lose. That's that's what it is. Yeah, yeah, that's what it is. They don't want to give him we don't want to have to pay him and whatever, man. There's nobody out there that's gonna turn this thing around that fast. No, and we're if we're gonna suck, we're probably gonna suck whoever we hire. Well, yeah, because we're not gonna have any money to pay anybody. So we might as well just try it again.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah. So we're gonna be shitty for the next three, four, five years. But hey, at least we won't be paying two head coaches.

SPEAKER_02:

Get recruit some players, man.

SPEAKER_03:

They won't.

SPEAKER_02:

I mean, God. I mean, Miami's like they get the players, but then they have a coach that just uh that chokes away a game or two every year. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, you know Jimbo had games like that too when he didn't have Jameis. Well the thing is. But he got players. It it although like I just recomplaining about that seems just a time before. You can't even get into coaching when you can't get players because you can't compete. My point is bottom line, right?

SPEAKER_03:

My point here is we we are past just get players. Like there are there are many, many programs that don't go out and recruit blue chips and and still manage to not go three and fucking thirteen in the ACC in two years. I mean, you can run down the look at SMU. Like, yeah, you think they're no Wake Forest for Jesus. Like the ACC is full of teams that don't recruit at a high level and don't go three and thirteen in two years.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03:

It's not like for me, it's the fact that he can't like not only can you not recruit, you can't develop shit.

SPEAKER_02:

Right. Right.

SPEAKER_03:

So let's lock him in for sixty million dollars guaranteed and let's let's run it back.

SPEAKER_02:

I think that was it's looking more and more like let's run it back, man.

SPEAKER_03:

We're gonna go five and seven.

SPEAKER_02:

He's an idiot getting punked. Mike Alfred is an idiot. He got caught up in the emotions and one, and maybe you guessed felt bad and wanted to prove.

SPEAKER_03:

No, it's all show. It's all show. Look, we were Florida State. We can pay, we can we can give a guy a big contract. Yeah, I know what I'm doing. No, we're gonna renovate Dok. I know what I'm doing.

SPEAKER_02:

Well, I don't think so, man.

SPEAKER_03:

No. Both of them can eat shit. Well, they won't be. No. They're doing it at Florida State. Right. They're gonna be eating good shit at Florida State for the foreseeable future. While us, the fans get to just be apathetic about it. That that's my best advice, is don't even invest any kind of emotion into the season next year. They win, they win.

SPEAKER_02:

We well, they're gonna be it's gonna be another rent a player. They're gonna need they they're gonna have to get a new offensive line. They're gonna have to get a new defensive line. You might have to get new.

SPEAKER_03:

Oh, I mean, it's just it's gonna be a Pete rent Yeah, you're gonna end up with a 2004 brand newish Nissan Sentra. There you go. Pre-owned. Maybe your quarterback won't be five foot eight. It's hard to get excited about it. It's impossible to get excited about it. Impossible. Right? Right, Junior?

SPEAKER_02:

Alright, so if the playoffs we're starting today. Playoffs, yeah. You have Indiana, Ohio State, AM, Georgia, all getting them by. Right? And then you have from there, you have your five seed in Texas Tech hosting two-lane green wave. Oh, right. Right? And then you have the That's assuming they win. This is just based on the last rankings. Right. On November 18th. So this is just this one has Miami in, and they're not gonna be in. And then they're playing the sixth-ranked Ole Miss Rebels, Alabama at the 10, going to seven, Oregon, and then Notre Dame at nine, going to eight, Oklahoma. Anything stand out about that or anything gonna change? Obviously, the ACC is going to not have Miami in there because right now As it stands, they need help. SMU beats Cal, they're in the championship. Virginia beats Virginia Tech, they're in the championship. Right. That's gonna happen. Like those are gonna, each one of those would be highly unprobable.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_02:

Because Virginia's not gonna lose Virginia Tech. Cal just fired their coach. SMU's looks there looks like they're playing. Miami's still got it, they still gotta beat Pitt. Yeah, but but it doesn't matter.

SPEAKER_03:

Right. They could they could beat Pitt and it's still not it.

SPEAKER_02:

It's not making it because you also have a situation where if it were to be SMU that wins out, wins this conference, you might have another power five group of five team that's ranked higher than them. Right.

SPEAKER_03:

Well, that's a bad the thing is is SMU is going to, if they beat Cal, they play Virginia, beat Virginia, they'll end up jumping James Madison. They're already in the back end of the top 25. They'll get another game against a ranked opponent. It'll it more than likely.

SPEAKER_02:

Well, you're the fourth highest ranked conference champion. Right. It's not it, there's a very good chance unless Virginia wins.

SPEAKER_03:

What I'm saying is James Madison is not going to get any points from here on out for beating teams.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03:

They honestly, you know, they needed a miracle to beat Washington State.

SPEAKER_02:

What if two lane wins?

SPEAKER_03:

That's fine, but you get the five highest conference champions, the five highest ranked. That's the three power or the four power four conferences and then the highest ranked G5. And that would be the Yeah, well, you're gonna have uh So it's the winner of the American Conference, most likely.

SPEAKER_02:

Unless Navy wins it and they keep Well, let's go to what happened this Saturday. USC was eliminated by their loss to Oregon. Yeah. Big win for the Ducks. I think they're kind of in the same situation as Oklahoma is in the SEC, as in they're gonna get in. Oh, yeah, they're they're gonna boy be in that 8 to 12 range.

SPEAKER_03:

Right. If I'm Oregon, I mean, yeah, I know you get to buy, but you've already done it last year, the other way.

SPEAKER_02:

Right, exactly. You're in a you're in fine situations.

SPEAKER_03:

I'd much rather have, you know, screw the championship game. Screw the Big Ten championship.

SPEAKER_02:

It looks like barring Oklahoma's gonna be in. Yeah, they beat LSU, they're in. Yeah. So Oklahoma is in if they beat LSU. Right. Georgia's in already. Georgia's in? In, yeah. No matter what. No matter what. You got Georgia Tech. Well, first of all, they're not losing.

SPEAKER_03:

No, they're not gonna lose to Georgia Tech. Georgia Tech is a team that survived all season with the light schedule. Yeah. Um so Georgia's in. Uh AM is in.

SPEAKER_02:

AM's in. Regardless of what happens. Indiana's in. Indiana, Ohio State.

SPEAKER_03:

Right. Now, some weird scenarios happen if Michigan beats Ohio State. Alabama beats Auburn, they're in. Maybe.

SPEAKER_02:

I I I think they're in because they beat Georgia.

SPEAKER_03:

Right. They beat Georgia, but what if they go to the AC or the SEC title game and get their ass kicked? That's the that's the thing.

SPEAKER_02:

If you if if you go and get what if they get their ass kicked, then maybe. But if they go in and lose like a one-point game, I'm not gonna hurt them for beating Georgia and qualifying for that game.

SPEAKER_03:

Right, but but my thing now is like, so this is where it and the Miami-Notre Dame thing comes into play here, because with Alabama, they are pretty much completely ignoring that first week loss to Florida State. That's what the committee is doing. Yeah, they are. They are so if you ignore what a loss for one team, I'm not ignoring that loss.

SPEAKER_02:

I'm looking at the win. I'm looking at the win that they beat Georgia. Right. Because you just said Georgia's in. And I was like, well, Alabama's got that. I first thought it was like Alabama's gotta be in that. Yeah. Because Alabama beat Georgia. But if they're sitting there with three losses on the season. Right. Right now, AM is the only undefeated team in the conference. Georgia at 7-1, Ole Miss at 6-1, Alabama at 6-1. What are the tiebreaking? Do you know the tie-breaking scenarios? I don't know.

SPEAKER_03:

I know if Alabama beats Auburn, they're going. If they were to lose to Auburn, then Georgia's gone. So Ole Miss can't make the title game. The SEC championship. Um what becomes a little weird is if Texas AM loses to Texas.

SPEAKER_02:

Right. Which could happen.

SPEAKER_03:

Right. Then you then it gets then it gets crazy.

SPEAKER_02:

Georgia's in with an Alabama loss or a Texas AM loss. Yeah. All right. Alabama's in the game with a win. Texas AM is in with a win. Or an Alabama plus an Ole Miss loss. So the AM's not in yet. No. They got a win. Alright, so uh Ole Miss is in with a win, and then everybody else Ole Miss needs AM and Alabama to lose. So Ole Miss is not gonna get in.

SPEAKER_03:

No.

SPEAKER_02:

So it looks like the best chance to get in is Alabama AM.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02:

And that's you know. So are you gonna hurt Alabama for that loss if they lose to AM? Or how about this? AM loses to Texas, loses again to Alabama. Well, if they lose to Texas, they're not going. That's true. So they're in, man.

unknown:

Right.

SPEAKER_03:

That's what I'm saying, man.

SPEAKER_02:

Like what what is our They they they would be hurt more by, yeah. So they could, but they can't get in by losing because there is a scenario they can get in by losing. They can if Alabama loses, or Will Miss loses, then they lose. But that ain't gonna happen. No, none of them are gonna fuck. Alabama's gonna win. They're going. AM's AM probably has the best shot at losing. So if that happens, Georgia. Yeah. So Alabama, Georgia rematch.

SPEAKER_03:

And then it's a whoop-de-doo, you know. And a rematch.

SPEAKER_02:

So then what happens if Georgia beats Alabama? That takes away their good win. Right? Does yeah, does the Alabama now that that that's gonna be this crazy scenarios? But the SEC championship game, it gets this like you'd rather be in that situation where your old miss? Rather just not be playing losing this week. Like doesn't mean shit. So those are the teams uh as far as I think we'll we'll see what happens when it comes to this week. That'll be interesting to watch.

SPEAKER_03:

I yeah, it all ends up with the SEC getting five teams, the Big Ten getting three teams. Yep. ACC, Big 12 each getting one team. And then you got Notre Dame and Notre Dame and then the group of five.

SPEAKER_02:

Yep. Yep. So your five, your five SEC teams are pretty much set.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah. Unless they lose. You know, they all got to win this weekend. So is there any chance Vanderbilt gets in? None whatsoever.

SPEAKER_02:

Really? Even if they beat Tennessee?

SPEAKER_03:

No, there's there's no no shot. Vanderbilt would have had to win one of the games against the the, you know. For some reason, and we know it's just because of 2023, Texas has been no, they didn't win, they didn't have the big win this year.

SPEAKER_02:

No LSU wasn't the team. No, LSU's dog shit. Yeah. So it's Alabama, Georgia, AM. Ole Miss. Ole Miss. Oklahoma. Oklahoma. There you go.

SPEAKER_03:

And most likely Ohio State Alabama. Oklahoma's sitting pretty. They win, they're in.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah. Alright. So this week you'll have Texas AM, Texas. Robert, Alabama, Georgia Tech, Georgia. The Egg Bowl. Egg bowl. The Iron Bowl.

SPEAKER_03:

Sunshine show.

SPEAKER_02:

No, they're three and eight. So Florida State. With a chance to go to the Gats Rilla Bowl.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah, man.

SPEAKER_02:

With a chance to avoid I mean, it'll be it's a rivalry game. I mean, Florida, Florida'd be it'd be great for to ruin FSU season.

SPEAKER_03:

They got way better players than NC State. Yeah. And it's a bigger stadium. Yeah, this is a team that hasn't won on the road in two years.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, I don't expect anything. All right, you're going five and seven. All right. Uh the NFL, man. My boy. And I know the Giants lost, but good lord. His fault. He looked so good. And he was so much fun to watch. Can I we out we outside, but we're inside. We're outside, but we're inside.

SPEAKER_03:

I hate the analytics and the stat tweets that come out in the situation like that happened in that game where they decided to go for it on fourth and goal. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. That happened twice. Yeah. That happened twice. Oh, well, no. I mean, you kick a field goal. You're still only up one.

SPEAKER_02:

You're up three. And it's it's not like it's now if you're fourth and one, where you, I mean, you're getting first down. Right. No, I mean, if you're just where you can sneak it in, yeah. Or just tush-push it, then yeah. But you actually have to get a good play here. I take the points, make them score six. If they do that, they win the game. He they don't make the diving catch. Jameis missed a guy in the flat, but then they went for it again and for it. Didn't get it, had to kick it, uh, give the ball back. Right. And then Detroit hits a nine-yarder. He just barely hooks in. It happened again in another game. Um, the Jags. Yeah. The Cardinals. The Jags and the Cardinals. The Jags had a chance in any tie field goal, and they went for it, gave the Cardinals a chance, and they go right down tie it. Now the Jags won in overtime, but what are you doing here?

SPEAKER_03:

Well, you you just look online. Everybody comes out in defense of that move. If you follow the stats, you can win it right now. The percentages say that you know you're much more likely to kick a field goal and then lose by one point than if you go for it and score a touchdown. Great, man. What would you rather do?

SPEAKER_02:

Like if you're on the defense, I would rather them take the field goal. It's like, dude, are you so you're telling me about all we have? How many yards we have to give up when we've been getting pressure on and then and then in overtime you give up the run on the first play. Right.

SPEAKER_03:

In the NFL you're not in the NFL, man, kicking a 60-yard field goal is like nothing now.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03:

And you're telling your defense, like, no, no, you just got to go for the Giants.

SPEAKER_02:

But I mean, I just it was great to see him ball out. He was still like nominated for player of the week in a loss. I think people acknowledged what the hell was he doing on the bench at the start of the year. I think it's been widely probably the most entertaining Giants game. One game, one game Russell Wilson played good against the Cowboys. They still lost. And they lost. So what are we doing? What were the Cowboys? What was Brian Brian Dayball doing not starting this guy? I I don't know what the league is doing, not starting this guy. If I was a GM and I don't have a quarterback, I mean, there you go. Yeah. There you go. You don't have to pay big money either.

SPEAKER_03:

Right. I don't got to go spend$48 million on Geno Smith. Oh my goodness. Just to find it. I know, dude. You're talking about Pete Carroll, man. Geno Smith is getting paid that much. If I'm the GM, I'm looking at Pete Carroll like, you know what?

SPEAKER_02:

Trevor Lawrence turned it over four times. Where's all the talk about that? They won the game, though. Right. But I mean, like, you don't need some big superstar to win. Like, it almost hinders your team when you pay a guy that much. Yeah. So why not get a guy that's a team guy? I think he's matured. I don't think he's going to turn the ball over at the rate he did. He's still probably going to throw picks because he he goes for it. Everybody throws picks. They're like two elite quarterbacks in the league. I'm just saying, if you were to ask GMs, coaches against opponents, they were like, who would you rather face? They'd be like, Yeah, look, I'd rather face Russell. Yeah. I mean you think we're rock and roll Russ? That Jameis game was so much fun to watch. It was the most fun game of the whole get whole day. Yeah. Over a thousand yards. I mean, and then Gibbs, man, he was he was a monster. The Giants could not stop him. So, I mean, that was a fun game. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03:

There was a lot of missing Rams. Games were a lot closer, man. That's true.

SPEAKER_02:

The Rams are now in first place in the NFC because the Cowboys, how about them Cowboys come back and beat the Eagles? Right. I bet a halftime bet on that. Just took a shot because I liked the odds. It was like plus 900 Cowboys, and I did it. Thank you. Philly, Philly, you are pathetic, Philly. Yep. Cowboys. Well, the offense, man. Come on. That was a good showing, but but yeah, the offense for Philly should have should be. Right. That's what I'm saying. Offense or Philly, man.

SPEAKER_03:

You got two of the best receivers in football. You got Saquon Barkley. You got that. Like, what the hell are you doing? You can't score against Dallas? Jesus.

SPEAKER_02:

Well, the Bucks, Baker's out. They got their ass kicked.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah, they're faded.

SPEAKER_02:

Panthers can if the Panthers pull off a whoops that win tonight, watch out. That division's becomes theirs. But it looks like, man, like I the Jags just, I mean, they they don't look ugly, but they're in the playoffs.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah, they keep winning.

SPEAKER_02:

The Chiefs, down 20 to 9, down 20 to 9, figure out a way to win that game.

SPEAKER_03:

Well, it they, you know.

SPEAKER_02:

It's just what they do.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah, they listen, they're gonna get some calls. You're right, Junior. They are. They're gonna they're gonna get some calls. Yeah.

unknown:

In the first quarter, there were like five faces.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah. Right.

SPEAKER_03:

They're gonna get that. But also, you know, they stopped Jonathan Taylor early in the game, and then for some reason, the Colts head coach decides that he's gonna put it on 16 carries.

SPEAKER_02:

That's it. Yeah, he's gonna put it in Daniel Jones's 33 first downs for the Chiefs. That's what they do. Yeah. They they control the ball. 33 damn first downs. Oh, they they they could not cover the Chiefs. So they they just they just move the ball. They now they had to kick a bunch of field goals, but you feel like the Colts let that one slip away, but the Chiefs stay alive.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah, I it it's looking more and more like the Broncos might actually, you know, Patriots, Broncos are gonna be the two teams.

SPEAKER_02:

The Patriots pull off an ugly win, but they're 10 and freaking two, man. Right. I mean, that is one of the I mean, good God. Statistically nobody had them. Nobody had them niggas. The easiest schedule. I heard all the people saying, but nobody had this. People had them, hey, I got them as a dark horse for the last playoff seed. Right. That was the top of the predictions for them.

SPEAKER_03:

Well, they've taken advantage of the lightest NFL schedule in the last four seasons.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03:

I mean, you gotta you gotta play who you play.

SPEAKER_02:

Right now, they are the one seed in the AFC.

SPEAKER_03:

There you go, man.

SPEAKER_02:

Because they have a half game leader with the Broncos who had a buy. Broncos are nine and two, the Colts are eight and three now. The Ravens now are your leaders in the AFC North. Bears beat the Steelers, Steelers. Chargers are still in the playoff front. The Jags are in the playoffs, the Bills with the loss. Yeah. What's going on there? That was we saw that on Thursday. Um the Texans or the Steelers, they're out, Texans out, Chiefs out. Wow.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah. You feel like if the if the Texans could get any consistency on offense, they could they could sneak out. Yeah, that defense is for real. Yeah. NFC, man. Different story. It's looking like the Rams class of the league. Got a big game on Friday, though.

SPEAKER_02:

NFC, the Rams now take the lead with the Phillies loss. They are the one seed. The Eagles drop to the two. The Bears are eight and three. They're going at it on Black Friday, man. Bears, Eagles will play this Friday. Big, huge. Huge. Huge game. Where is it at? I don't know. In Philly. It's in Philly. Oh boy.

unknown:

I think so.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, I would guess. Um shit. Hey, go win the game. Yeah. Go win the game. Go win the game. Yeah. Go win the game. Yeah. Go win that game. And you're talking about a Bears team in second place in the NFC.

SPEAKER_03:

They have not had an offense this good since 1977.

SPEAKER_02:

They're leading the league in big plays. Yeah. So and they can run the ball. Right. So they have an identity.

SPEAKER_03:

Well, you got Swift and you got Kyle Manunga. The rookie at a rutgers, dude. He's absolutely wagging.

SPEAKER_02:

They get turnovers. Yeah. That's a recipe.

SPEAKER_03:

Their corner, uh, what is it? Nay Sean Wright tied for the lead with interceptions and the and I believe in the coach.

SPEAKER_02:

I think if Caleb can figure it out, and then if he if this guy keeps him, it's gonna work.

SPEAKER_03:

Oh yeah, you keep him. I mean, you pay him, you're keeping him. He's got ability. Right.

SPEAKER_02:

He's got ability.

SPEAKER_03:

Right. You're not you're not rolling the dice again after the quarterbacks. Yeah, after the quarterbacks that they've had just in the recent past, Trubisky, Justin Fields, just you're not rolling the dice again.

SPEAKER_02:

Right. So some big games next week. So we just mentioned the Black Friday game. That's got to be right at the top of the list. Bears, Eagles. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03:

School Bears.

SPEAKER_02:

School Bears.

SPEAKER_03:

You got some big ones. You got Kansas City and uh who they playing? Packers play the Lions.

SPEAKER_02:

That'll be a big game. Yeah, it is. Chiefs will be in Dallas playing the Cowboys. Yeah. That'll be your big root ratings, bonanza.

SPEAKER_03:

Right. And that look, I'm telling you, the Cowboys are not out of it.

SPEAKER_02:

I mean, that's that's they'll they'll ruin it. They just I mean that offense is humming. And Dak's playing well, and they got they got two receivers that are number one guys. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03:

He's gonna score touchdowns and throw punches, man.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, they're the Cowboys, and they got draft capital.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02:

Not in a bad spot.

SPEAKER_03:

I mean, they won't draft anybody good, but it yeah.

SPEAKER_02:

Uh you also got Bengals, Ravens next week, Bears, Eagles, as we said, Saints, Dolphins, uh, Texans, Colts. That'll be an interesting matchup right there. It's another one. Um Falcons, Jets. Jesus. 49ers, Browns. Shador. And you get the 49ers. We'll get some Shador. He is gonna be starting. See how many times Miles Garrett might have eight sacks in that game. Uh Rams will make the trip to Carolina. Interesting game there. That'll be a dangerous game for the Rams there. Yep. Jags will be in Tennessee. Cardinals will be at the Bucks. Uh, it's got to be a get-right game for Tampa. Um, but Teddy Teddy B. Yeah, uh Vikings, Seahawks. That'll be Darnold's revenge right there. Uh Bills, Steelers will be Cat. Loser of that game is done. And then Raiders, Chargers, Chargers need that one. Broncos, Commanders is your. Sunday night game and uh we hopefully play it on Monday night.

SPEAKER_03:

What do you say, man? Pressure is really unprepared. I go in every week like I'm gonna be playing. It's my job.

SPEAKER_00:

Oh, shut it down.

SPEAKER_02:

Well, we gotta get on out of here, but before we go. Hoop, hoops, there it is! Hoops, there it is. Got a game tomorrow night. FSU hoops, that's what we're talking about. My favorite team in the world. Yeah. Shit, yeah. I think I want Jameis to win a Super Bowl more than anything in sports right now. Second. There's maybe FSU hoops. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03:

I just want him back in the tournament. I like the way they're going. The Jay Jones. 10 three-pointers last timeout. Yep. 36 points. Another tune-up Tuesday night.

SPEAKER_02:

Who's that?

SPEAKER_03:

Cal State Bakerfield.

SPEAKER_02:

Yep. And then they got Texas AM.

SPEAKER_03:

That's the ACC SEC challenge.

SPEAKER_02:

Followed by Georgia.

SPEAKER_03:

Actually, that's the ACC SEC challenge.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, the Friday one's in Sunrise. Yeah, that's a terrible. They're hosting Georgia here at the TLC Douc. Finally. Shit. And then they go on the road to play Houston Cougars. The number one Houston Cougars. They're number three now. Mass Dayton Mississippi Valley. Oh, we're going up to dirty Dayton. In Jacksonville. So I love the tough out-of-conference schedule. I love the style, fast pace. Get out there and watch them. They're fun to watch. Still lead the country in three-point attempts.

SPEAKER_03:

Think about that. There's like 400 basketball teams.

SPEAKER_02:

But I mean, do people even pay attention to it? Not right now. I know the Thunder is still awesome. They only got one loss on the year. They've already played like 20 games. I know. I know. It just, there's, there's so little. The Pistons are 14 and 2. Okay. And the Thunder are 17 and 1. Jesus. Geez. Cheese ticket. Yep. The Magic. 10 and 8. Slow start for them. They'll turn it around. So there's your NBA update. Big weekend for football. Yeah. As Thanksgiving approaches. So we'll have a holiday episode with our picks. The PICS. We'll have to come at you maybe Wednesday to do that.

unknown:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02:

So we can get our Thanksgiving Day picks in early. Yeah, that's right. They start early. And then we got a lot of games to watch, a lot of food to eat. But we'll watch them. We'll react to them. And we'll talk to you next time, right here on the North Florida Sports Network.

SPEAKER_00:

You gotta give us a shot, you don't want to batch!
