SPEAKER_00:

Let me ask you one question The North Florida North Florida is bored floor.

SPEAKER_01:

You gotta give us a shot, you know what you're doing, network.

SPEAKER_04:

The north floor is both AFD, AFD, T T T T A F F T T T Let's go up let's have to be the playoffs standing before we get started. Uh we all were one and three last week. On top of me being one and five the first week. I'm two and eight. Everybody else is four and six. There you go. Two and eight. Yeah. Yeah, we got Miami contributor Justin. We'll ask him about the championship game Monday. We'll let him air it out. And we'll also pick up what you got?

SPEAKER_03:

I'm not too angry about it, actually.

SPEAKER_04:

I was gonna ask you that.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah. Bad, heartbroken, all that crap, but angry, not really one day.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah. That makes sense. Right, you'd be angry if it was like like the Alabama Indian outcome.

SPEAKER_04:

Right. Yeah. I've been, you know, you don't want to get your ass kicked in the Master Championship game. It's totally worse. And I mean, it sucks to lose, but you don't feel like it's bad. You just feel like, man, just one play just ran out of time. Honestly, it felt like Miami just ran out of time. Uh that field goal before the what do you it the missed field goal was big?

SPEAKER_03:

Uh I mean, two biggest plays, man. Yeah. I mean, like I said, like I said, going into the game, Miami needed to play mistake three football because Indiana was going to play mistake three football. At the end of the first half, we had the missed field goal. That's mistake one. Missed block on a friggin' punt.

SPEAKER_04:

Yeah, that was two. Yep. That was a just bonus. That's stuff that shouldn't happen.

SPEAKER_03:

That that that was the one I think that really did a thin. I mean, even though Beck throws the pick at the end of the game, uh, I think without that blocked punt, um Miami, Miami's ahead in the game, and Mendoza's happening to make a fourth-quarter drive.

SPEAKER_04:

Yeah, I I agree. And I think um I'll tell you what, just the momentum of that missed field goal because you know Mario did what he does, and he sat on the clock and he's like, no, we're just gonna kick the field goal, and then you miss it, which I don't think it's a bad decision, but it's just and then you see in the second half, Signetti called that timeout when they knew the momentum had shifted. It was like, we just we gonna if we don't score a touchdown here, Miami's gonna beat us. And he that was a ballsy call, man.

SPEAKER_02:

If he goes for a field goal or if Mendoza doesn't score or get the first down, like Miami's winning that game.

SPEAKER_04:

Do you think Mario were to make could make that call if he was in the same situation?

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah, I mean, I I I really No, you know he wouldn't.

SPEAKER_04:

He would have kicked the field goal because he and he should.

SPEAKER_03:

If Mario went for it on fourth and one when we hadn't gained a yard the entire first half, he went from it on for first or like fourth and one from our own 30s. That's true.

SPEAKER_02:

That is true. I did see that. Yeah, he got aggressive down the stretch, man. Yeah, after the two losses in season, they he started getting ball kind of balls to the wall with it. Like no more.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah, no, I've got I have got no complaints of crystal ball crystalballing in that game. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04:

Um well, I think it's just more of just a great you have to tip your cap. You know, that was a hell of a play.

SPEAKER_03:

Oh, yeah, no.

SPEAKER_04:

I mean, he was not gonna be nine.

SPEAKER_03:

I mean, that game was won by Fernando Mendoza um because Indiana was getting pushed around in the second half by the offensive line of Miami.

SPEAKER_05:

Yep.

SPEAKER_03:

It was going the way that it needed to go for Miami to win. If we just pick up a block, a damn chip block on that punt, I think Miami wins.

SPEAKER_04:

Thank God.

SPEAKER_03:

Oh well, you better get you.

SPEAKER_04:

Yeah, that's what it it's it feels like it's not going anywhere. No, it's not. So but I'm just gonna relish any time that don't win it because they're gonna get another shot. And uh you'll probably have a better team, I think. You know, but you're losing a lot of talent, but you are gonna be able to replace it.

SPEAKER_02:

I don't know that there's gonna be another team. You can't replace Bain. There's not gonna be another team like Indiana that just plays that mistake free. Right, and they're they're losing Mendoza, so yeah. Like in all season, that was just kind of how Indiana snuck by waste.

SPEAKER_04:

No, when he had to be as playing clean, yeah.

SPEAKER_02:

Like a mistake game, like geez.

SPEAKER_04:

When he had to be at his best, he was. And like the the momentum had shifted. Miami, the coach knew it, and then he was like, nah, man, we gotta go for it. Yeah, we have to. And so that was um props to him from that that call. I I agree. Uh, I think if you're a Miami fan, obviously you're upset, but I mean, the team went 16-0. You know, it you gave you lost to a historical team and you could have easily won, and you're going in the right direction.

SPEAKER_02:

The only team in the playoffs that looked like they belonged on the field with Indiana.

SPEAKER_04:

No, but everybody, everybody was like, oh yeah, Miami's back. So I think I did.

SPEAKER_03:

I did hedge a bet, did hedge a bet, and uh take Miami with the points.

SPEAKER_04:

Yeah, I I uh yeah. It was uh it was a hell of a run. Um we'll see.

SPEAKER_03:

Most fun I've had in 25 years watching Miami football, dude. Since since the 01 team.

SPEAKER_04:

Well, yeah. Yeah, of course.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah, because I like the following year after that, Matty was not that fun. It was just Miami boat racing everybody, and then Ohio State paying off a referee.

SPEAKER_04:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03:

That was not a fun season.

SPEAKER_04:

Yeah. Well, uh, we have divisional rounds, we didn't do too well. You know, I haven't been doing well at all in the playoffs. But we got You're regressing to the mean, buddy. Yeah, well, you know, it's different. Playoffs are different. And um this line has changed the AFC championship between the New England Patriots and the Denver Broncos. It opened once that injury was announced, like at six, six and a half, and I bet it, but it's down to four and a half, and that's what we're gonna go with. Wonder why it's down. Because the money. Yeah, the money comes like they saw six points like I did. I was like, oh, I'm taking that. Like I don't I know it's a backup, but six points at in Denver, with you know, they're if New England could easily win that game by four, yeah. Five, and so and it's down to the biggest.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah, no, you're you you know Peyton's gonna Peyton's gonna scheme it up the play keep away.

SPEAKER_04:

He's loving this a guy like Peyton, who's very confident and just kind of brash, and just like he wants he doesn't give a crap what anybody thinks, and nor should he, but I you these two coaches that are just two of the best. All time, man, I think. Rabel doesn't have the ring yet, but I think he will eventually. And he's not he's been nothing but a winner.

SPEAKER_02:

Tell you what, Tennessee's kicking themselves in the dick for getting rid of it. What an idiot.

SPEAKER_04:

Yeah. And you knew it. It's just like, what the hell were they thinking? Well, um, now they brought in old Bob.

SPEAKER_03:

Patriots are set up. Oh my god, dude. You can't work straight.

SPEAKER_04:

Well, I think they're better off with Salah than they were with who was the guy there. Who's who Tom Callahan's kid? Oh, god. Yeah. Big Tom Callahan. Tommy boy. And then he hired his dad. Yeah. Bill. Yeah. Talking about big Bill Tom.

SPEAKER_03:

Or the brake pads. That's what are those brake pads.

SPEAKER_02:

Bill Callahan's freaking Bo Bridges looking ass.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02:

Wait, not Bo. Yeah, Bo.

SPEAKER_04:

All right, it's four and a half. Jared Stidham's getting a start for Denver. New England. They're undefeated on the road this year. Four and a half, though. It's a lot of points for a championship game, even though it's come down. Jimmy, who you got?

SPEAKER_02:

I I'm gonna take Denver in the points. Um just because of that defense. Well, there's too many outcomes you can win by four or three.

SPEAKER_04:

Yeah. It's you know. So it's like is New England gonna win by a touchdown? I don't think so. Because I think this was at one and a half if Bo Nix is healthy. And I is he worth that many points? Which I mean, the quarterback position is important. So mobility, man, is what's gonna be missed. Stidum can't run like Bo. We'll see.

SPEAKER_02:

He's a Gus QB now. Oh, yeah?

SPEAKER_04:

All right, all right, all right, Justin. Four and a half. Uh Denver's getting it at home. Who you got?

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah, I mean, I uh like I agree with all the things y'all are saying. I think Mason's gonna have it teamed up to uh limit mistakes, keep I mean, basically play Indiana style football in this game. Just try and try and out coach him and out-hard him.

SPEAKER_04:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03:

But they don't have the best young quarterback in the NFL on their team.

SPEAKER_04:

Right.

SPEAKER_03:

Give me my boy Drake May and the Pats to win by a touchdown.

SPEAKER_04:

Alright. You know, I took Denver when it was six, and it's still at four and a half, and it's almost but it's still like uh pretty much a touchdown that you're gonna have to win by possession. And I'm gonna take it. I think the Bills should have beat the Broncos. I think that defense is a little I know they can do some sacks, so and the offensive line for New England, that's gonna be the key. But I think they're gonna scheme it up, man. They got Josh McDaniels, Mike Vrabel. I mean, it's a nice mesh, and they're still they're only gonna get better, too. That's the scary part, and I hate it. Because the Pats are on the rise again.

SPEAKER_05:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04:

They got a young quarterback, they got a coach, a young coach, they got a coordinator who's not going anywhere. It's set up. I think I'm gonna.

SPEAKER_03:

See, the Pats are about to be on their third, their third all-pro quarterback.

SPEAKER_04:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03:

And another dynastic run all in the time since the Dolphins have won a playoff game.

SPEAKER_04:

I know. It's just oh pretty much our adult lives.

SPEAKER_03:

92 was the last time the Dolphins were.

SPEAKER_04:

I mean, the Patriots dynasty started when I became an adult, pretty much. And then I was like, oh, this sucks. This sucks.

SPEAKER_03:

Dude, you can even look back into the late 90s.

SPEAKER_02:

So overrated. Cheating ass. All right, so cheese dick up in the booth. You're gonna go Denver with the points. Yeah, I mean, I think they'll cover. I don't think they'll win. Yeah, it's hard to pick. I mean, I think Drake May will win it in the end. You know, it'll be too much. They'll put together a drive. Like, all right, we gotta get it there.

SPEAKER_04:

They got and they have digs. Yeah. And they have guys they can run the ball. They got Stevenson and that and Henderson. They just they're not like all the best, but they just don't have any holes. Right. They got much to do. They're solid on defense, they're solid on, they can run the ball, they can throw it. They got the best young quarterback going. Right. Uh I'm gonna go Pat's here with a minus the four and a half. I can't believe it. All right, let's uh I think uh Mike is not joining us today, but he is going with the Broncos and the points. That's his pick, right?

SPEAKER_03:

For yeah, yeah, it's his Super Bowl pick.

SPEAKER_04:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03:

You can't dis on him now, man. You make it to the conference championships, you can't bail on your Super Bowl pick.

SPEAKER_04:

Yeah, I know. Even though he did last week. But hey, well, I mean, he was playing Josh Allen. Yeah, and then Josh Allen choked that game away. It's more and more evident. I wish we were getting a third matchup of the Bills and Pats. That's what I wanted to see.

SPEAKER_02:

Probably would have if he wouldn't have tried to run a 70-yard touchdown.

SPEAKER_04:

So dumb, man. But uh, let's go to the NFC championship. This was a worst fucking game ever. I know. It's your division rivals. This would be like if it if it was that in the AFC East for me, if it was Bill's Patriots, Justin's embracing it.

SPEAKER_05:

Yeah, man.

SPEAKER_04:

You should just be fans of the Niners and you should just be fans of Seahawks and Rams. You should just embrace it. No. Because they have two, like rey two older quarterbacks. You know, it's your rival, but it's down to two and a half now. Seattle minus two and a half. Justin, who you got?

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah, yeah, dude. I've been looking at his game. It's like I mean, we've seen it twice already.

SPEAKER_04:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03:

They split. Yep. But the game that the Rams lost, they were missing one of their offensive linemen, and they were missing Devontae Adams, dude. Yep. I gotta take Stafford, man. I trust Stafford more than Darnold. Um I gotta take Stafford and the Rams, dude.

SPEAKER_04:

Yep.

SPEAKER_02:

Jimmy? I'm not bailing on them now. They were my Super Bowl pick.

SPEAKER_04:

You're gonna go with them too?

SPEAKER_02:

I'm going with the Rams. Everything tells me that, you know, Seahawks have looked great.

SPEAKER_04:

They've been dominating. It was three. So some money's coming in on the Rams, which is what I did too. I I think the Rams win. Um, and if you go back to that last game in Seattle, it was a hell of a game. And Seattle kind of got lucky. But you know, special teams is gonna be huge. Because they gave up a touchdown to Rashid. You saw him, he hit the opening kickoff. This guy has been the difference maker in this team. Because ever since they got him, he takes it to another level where they don't have to, and they're like, all right, Sam Darnold, you don't have to throw as much because we'll just rely on this special teams and defense. And I think that's the key. You have to shut down the run. The running back for Seattle's not gonna be playing. Yeah, Charbonnet's out. Charbonnet's out. So you you you you want to zone in on Walker, shut him out, and you want to make Sam Darnold throw a bunch. And I think the Rams can scheme up some stuff. It's not gonna be like it was last week for them, which was you can get some pressure, yeah. You can put some press that's the key. You gotta get pressure on Darnold.

SPEAKER_02:

You gotta make fast. And with Stafford, you got a QB that can throw it downfield, right? Drive the ball downfield, and you actually have receivering weapons. Right.

SPEAKER_04:

Stafford's a man, he's just the way he just like ball handles and throws it is just incredible. Like the no looks complete opposite of Brock Purdy. It is I mean he pierces the ball like you trust Matt Stafford more, like you said. And I think the Rams' defense is the difference being I think they can get to Sam Darnold, maybe confuse him a little bit, and I think I'm gonna trust, although the Seattle defense is really good, but the one team that's been able to figure it out, you got Sean McVeigh and Matt Stafford. So I think they actually have that number for him. I mean, this is the game Puka went, what he had like 258. Yeah, he went crazy.

SPEAKER_02:

Like you said, they had the punt return. And they didn't even have Devontae Adams. Right.

SPEAKER_04:

They had the punt return and then the touchdown where nobody had a two-point conversion that was pretty much stopped by Jared Verse. And nobody thought to pick it up. Yeah, nobody thought to pick it up. Now was the that's why you got home field. That's why this game's in Seattle. But this is gonna be a great game. I think it's gonna be it's gonna be just like the last time. It could be whoever makes that play. The Rams can take it.

SPEAKER_03:

I think we do have two fun games lined up for Sunday at the very least.

SPEAKER_04:

Well, I I Sean Payton, you know, it sucks. I'd rather see the Bills just because of the matchup. You want to see you hate that Bo Nicks is got hurt, but even if he was injured, I wanted to see Josh Allen. Yeah, versus May, yeah.

SPEAKER_03:

And then you know I just wish Josh Allen could be an all-time quarterback for some team and just like float him around the league. So I could watch Josh Allen play every time.

SPEAKER_04:

I know, but he's he's got a little bit of that turnover in him.

SPEAKER_03:

Oh, yeah, but he's the he's the funnest player to watch.

SPEAKER_04:

He's so much fun. He's so much fun. He's like a better Jameis.

SPEAKER_03:

I mean, dude, he's turned me into a freaking Bills fan for God's sake.

SPEAKER_04:

Yeah. But he can still kind of do Jameis type of things.

SPEAKER_03:

Oh, absolutely. That's why they need to bring Brian Davis.

SPEAKER_04:

He's like the NFL Jameis that Jameis in college was. You know?

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah, he's college Jameis.

SPEAKER_04:

Yeah, he's like college Jameis in the NFL. In 2014. In 2014. Yep. Yep. Like just, oh crap. I just bring him back. I threw three picks in the first half, but then I had five touchdowns in the second half. But it's so much fun. You're right. You're right about that. It is fun. And I was really pissed at him because that's what I wanted to see. Now we get Sean Payton scheming it up with screens and misdirections, and he's really good at it. And that, you know, that's gonna be the difference, but I I Rabel's the kind of guy I'm glad if I'm a New England Patriot fan right now that I have him. He's gonna Oh, it was a great hire. I mean, you know he's gonna go when they hired him. They're gonna go and they're gonna grind up all the stdum tape. They're gonna grind up all the Peyton tape when he when he ran with uh what was that guy, Drew Brees, back up and made all that money. Yeah, no, no, no, not him, the other guy. The other guy. Daniels, Chase Daniels. Yeah, Daniels. Guy's the richest non-player ever. Guy made so much money not doing shit. Just because Sean Payton liked him. So this is like guy looks like he drives a beer truck.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah. I play a little quarterback. Made$90 million.

SPEAKER_04:

Yeah. Alright, so I got uh Mike is taking the Seahawks. So Mike's going Seahawks. I think it's gonna be New England. Los Angeles.

SPEAKER_02:

That's some shit. That's that's that's the matchup where the dynasty began, right? Kurt Warner and Tom Brady. That is that is true.

SPEAKER_04:

That is true. I hadn't thought about that. Resur resurfaced. They met and then then they had a game a few Super Bowls back. Yeah, the worst one ever I've ever I've ever I don't think I could watch that crap. It was so bad. No, that was uh was it ten to three or something? Yeah, that's some shit you put on Jefferson Pirate. That was it was that game that We couldn't win this fucking game.

SPEAKER_01:

We had to go. Shuttle.

SPEAKER_04:

We gotta get on out of here. But before we go, Miami basketball was off to the best start in program history until they ran into the windless Knolls.

SPEAKER_01:

The juggernauts.

SPEAKER_04:

And the Knolls were able to take down the hurricanes in basketball. It was shocking. But you know, it's bad. It's hoops. Right. FSU's actually had Miami's number in hoops. Which is insane. I know.

SPEAKER_03:

Especially when Miami's really good running a couple years back with the final.

SPEAKER_04:

Even when I remember Florida, we beat Florida both years they won the championship.

SPEAKER_05:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02:

That's pretty crazy. But like the last three or four years, Florida State Hooves has just been just dog shit.

SPEAKER_04:

Yeah. It's in a rebuild. I mean, it's their first year the new coach, both teams. So basketball, anything can happen, man. You can lose to anybody. Well, yeah, yeah. But Miami's got a really good roster. Yeah, they're gonna be fine. Yeah. I mean, they'll still, I think they'll we'll see. They have they have to, they're gonna have to win, try to beat one of the better teams because there's not many. The ACC is not what it once was. No. It's better than it used to be. Yeah, Carmelo's kid up in the Syracuse. Pretty good. Then you got Boozer's kid.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, well Duke's Duke's gonna keep Boozers. Yeah. UNC ain't. Yeah. They got some talent, but dude, Hubert, they gotta just pull the plug on that guy.

SPEAKER_04:

I think though, Miami and Florida have young coaches that I think in a couple years, I think they're both gonna be back in the tournament.

SPEAKER_03:

Oh, I love Miami coach, dude. Yeah, and I think Laux. I've been nothing but correct on that.

SPEAKER_04:

If you just give him a little bit of like, you gotta give him some money to compete. Right. That's the thing. You gotta give him a little bit. You don't have to like match, but you gotta give him some. You gotta pay.

SPEAKER_03:

Athletic Department's got 30 million fresh dollars in their pocket from McKay's uh playoff run.

SPEAKER_04:

Oh, I know. Miami's set, man. That they got they got Christopher's boy, you know? Billionaire. Yeah. That's pretty that's pretty awesome, man. Gotta be nice. Your friends?

SPEAKER_03:

It's about time, man. Miami's biggest issue for the last 20 years has been lack of money in the athletic department.

SPEAKER_04:

Well, we got division run. We got that championship Sunday. Huge game Sunday. We're gonna watch them. We're gonna break them down. And we're gonna look ahead to the Super Bowl next time, right here on the North Florida Sports Network.

SPEAKER_05:

Everybody just do your job! You understand that?

SPEAKER_01:

You gotta give us a shot! You know what new patch.
