Let me ask you one question The North Florida sports floor export North Florida.
SPEAKER_04:The North Florida Sporting Network Hey you gotta give us a shot you know what you got the North Florida Sporting Network Super Bowl I'm very excited about this game as Thawk and uh New England Patriots the number 21 and 22 teams in the preseason power rankings are going to meet in the Super Bowl. What a bet that would have been 48,000 to 1 if you had that. Another analogy from Mina Kines was Seattle will take a step back with damned Arnold and g without having Gina Smith. That's not a good take.
SPEAKER_02:Nina only has good takes, as I'm told, man. She does all the analysis and the data and she's in the weeds on that, dude. She's brilliant, right? Right.
SPEAKER_04:This is about the worst freaking take I've ever heard. I mean, obvious.
SPEAKER_03:Is she hot?
SPEAKER_04:That's like a Mike Freenberg level take. I don't know, man. It was really bad. Yeah. Just nobody saw this matchup coming. And but it's here. And we're gonna pick it. It's four and a half now. Oh. Seattle is it's been about four and a half for the last three days. Drake May's shoulder is feeling better, according to Drake May.
SPEAKER_02:Drake May will be fine.
SPEAKER_03:Right? It'd be funny if a player would like to tell him how to be like, you know what, man, it feels like shit. Why not? Yeah, I know I was gonna say it.
SPEAKER_04:You know what? You're gonna go out there and tell him that it's terrible, isn't it? And then go out there and do Drake. You'll be a legend.
SPEAKER_02:Back in the day for the nip.
SPEAKER_05:Or lie about food poisoning.
SPEAKER_02:Like, oh my god, here comes Drake Man out of the tunnel!
SPEAKER_05:Yeah. Food poisoning in Utah? No, I'm just kidding.
SPEAKER_03:I did not stop shitting since last Thursday.
SPEAKER_04:Yep. Are you guys looking forward to this game? Like I am. Yeah. I guess it's new. Because my boys are amazing. Yeah, that's true. Uh yeah, I just I was hoping the Rams could get in there.
SPEAKER_02:Hey, well, our uh our uh midseason prediction of uh of Stafford uh in the MVP came through.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, thank goodness.
SPEAKER_03:Somebody voted for somebody voted for Justin Herbert.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah. Who's that, Colin Coward? No, Irish guy.
SPEAKER_04:He should have his vote taken away from him. Well, I mean, he just went with value. Like he just you can't do that. You gotta have someone's gonna always gonna do that. They're gonna say, oh, it's the most valuable player. So you saw that he had no O-line. He was making it up out of nowhere. I mean, that can be subjectively said, but Oh, most valuable player is Devon H. Yeah, I was gonna say you can make an argument if it's valuable, so it's such a subjective term, anyway. So it's and yeah, it's pretty much best quarterback on the best team. Unless you get a guy with that just puts up crazy stats at skill pressure.
SPEAKER_03:Right, right.
SPEAKER_04:Drake may almost stole it from him because you know Matt Stafford looked like he was gonna run away with it. Yes. And then, you know, that loss at the end of the year, I think it was the one to Carolina.
SPEAKER_03:And the way that the Patriots just have it on that streak, making it right and maybe he led the league in all kinds of won it.
SPEAKER_04:He should have won it. I have no problem with that. Vrabel wins coach of the year. That one's a big one. There's a lot of good candidates. I said that a couple weeks ago. I said you could give it to like five guys, and I couldn't really argue against it. They could have given it to freaking Duval. Yeah. Yeah. Duval. I mean, that guy deserved it. You couldn't have argued against that. Rabel, I mean, what they what he did. You can argue against that.
SPEAKER_02:Could have given it to Sean Payne. From like four wins or five wins last year without the Super Bowl this year.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah. I mean, if you because the war goes out before the playoffs start, so I you could have given it to Peyton, Rabel. Why are we talking about Liam Cohen actually? Liam Cohen Liam. Honestly, you could have given it to the Bears coach, too. Yeah, Ben Johnson. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:But yeah, I mean, he was able to get them to the playoffs with Caleb Williams, the quarterback, too. That's pretty freaking impressive. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04:Well, these playoffs have been terrible for me. I I think I've only gotten two games right. Yeah. Well after winning the regular season.
SPEAKER_03:You just got lightning in a bottle in the regular season.
SPEAKER_04:Well, yeah.
SPEAKER_03:Yeah. Wasn't like that.
SPEAKER_02:That's a big ass bottle, man. That's 17, 18 games, man. That's a big ass bottle.
SPEAKER_04:This game is uh upon us. It's four and a half. You know, at my first, you know, I'm thinking my gut is like four and a half, take the points. You know, it's the Patriots. They're not gonna beat themselves, but the more this it goes over, I think I'm gonna go Seattle here. Jimmy, who you got?
SPEAKER_03:Oh my god. Uh, I think you're right.
SPEAKER_04:You just look at the players. If you look up and down the roster, it's like, well, they're better here, they're better here, they're better here. It's like, how are the Patriots even here? Yeah, but you know what?
SPEAKER_03:I can't pick the Seahawks. I fucking hate the Seahawks.
SPEAKER_04:I agree.
SPEAKER_03:So I'm taking the Patriots to win outright!
SPEAKER_04:Yeah. The four and a half spreads a little, but you know, that made me. But I think Seattle's gonna win big, actually.
SPEAKER_03:Patriots win. Close game, New England wins. Keeps Belichick out of the Hall of Fame next year.
SPEAKER_04:Alright. All right. That's my prediction. All right, Mike, who you got?
SPEAKER_02:So uh I'm I'm looking at the the overall record. Before the thing, the rest of us were four and six, and you were two and eight, right? Yeah. So you went oh and two, so you're two and ten?
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, that's right. Thank you. Oh my god, you look brilliant, baby. Thank you. I would I appreciate that. Yeah. So yeah, if you want to base on that, I mean I just did Seattle, yeah. So I I mean my gut reaction was good. Yeah, go ahead.
SPEAKER_02:You're a regular season phenomenon, but in the postseason, I think. Uh Lamar Jackson. Leave it to the rest of the state. Yep, he's Lamar Jackson. That's what I was about to say. Lamar Jackson.
SPEAKER_04:That's exactly that's fair.
SPEAKER_02:So I am gonna go, not simply because of that, but I think I'm gonna go with the Patriots to cover. I don't think they're gonna win, but I think they'll cover.
SPEAKER_04:Ah, okay.
SPEAKER_02:What a weak take.
unknown:All right.
SPEAKER_04:I'm 6-6 in the Putin. I know, man. It's it's really it's actually my gut. My gut. My first reaction was like, oh, just take the points. If it was just money. I just hope it's a close game. I do too.
SPEAKER_02:I'm a little worried that Seattle might blow them out because uh Patriots haven't played anybody all year, really.
SPEAKER_04:Exactly, and there's no snow that's gonna bail them out.
SPEAKER_03:Listen, either way, the the Jameis Winston Carls Jr. commercial is gonna be the highlight of the night.
SPEAKER_04:Oh, wow. I'm I'm looking forward to that.
SPEAKER_02:I mean, you put Jameis Winston in every freaking commercial and it'll be great, dude. That guy is a trip.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, he's serving definitely made his a smart decision by going to New York and getting all those.
SPEAKER_02:Are they serving Apple turnovers now or something? Oh boots! Apple turnovers and crab legs.
SPEAKER_04:Apple turnovers. Well, you know. I just so you know, Sam Darnold comes and wins this game, could be an opportunity for more quarterbacks in this type of situation to get another chance. I mean, why would you but I've said this all year. I mean, not necessarily even him. There's him and a couple other guys I would rather pay than go out and give these massive contracts. You think Jameis is gonna pass up the chance to get coached by Matt Nagy? Take the Texans for an instance. There's a team right there. But anyway, let's just get just so you're going with the Patriots, Justin. Who you got?
SPEAKER_02:I'm not uh I'm kind of with I'm kind of with Mike on this one. Automatically, I automatically think four and a half is kind of too much for a Super Bowl.
SPEAKER_04:Right.
SPEAKER_02:But I don't think the point spread matters because Drake May is gonna be Super Bowl MVP. Give me the pass. We'll take it, Caleb Williams. Suck on that. Drake May should have been the number one pick in the draft. I said it then, I'm sticking with it. I've been riding this guy since he was a freshman at UNC. Drake May wins the Super Bowl.
SPEAKER_04:Alright. That leads me to my next question. Who do you got as your MVP? And you just obviously there's Drake May. I'm gonna go with Smith and Jigba. I think he's been clearly the best receiver this year. And I think they're just gonna keep feeding on the rock. He's gonna put up huge numbers. He's gonna put up huge numbers. Uh Sam Darnold might throw a pick or two to make, and it'll be Smith and Jigba with your MVP. Mike, who's your MVP?
SPEAKER_02:You know what? I think uh I think I'm gonna go with Sam Darnold. I think people just have like a cough funny at heart. Even if uh JFN goes off, it's Darnold I'd have to do him.
SPEAKER_04:Yep, I agree. I think Darnold's definitely the favorite here. Um, but uh Jimmy.
SPEAKER_03:I'm gonna take Ramondre Stevenson.
SPEAKER_02:That was my second pick, the running back. Oh. If I was gonna go running back for the Pats, you're gonna go tradion Henderson, man.
SPEAKER_04:I mean, they could have you know just a big day. That's what they're gonna need. They're gonna need to dominate the run and just control the ball.
SPEAKER_02:And uh, I think it's didn't the Pats like lead the league this year in like explosive plays or something like that?
SPEAKER_04:Well, yeah, they're well their backup running backs a home run hitter. Stevenson's more of a big guy. Yeah. But Henderson, he's Henderson's the speed. Yeah, he's the game breaker. Like he can go for one and done or one and to the house. Yeah. And but that's what they want to do. They want to run the ball a bunch and get you on your heels with with Stevenson, and then boom. Henderson. Three touchdowns and inside the five. That would be an out that would be uh an upside. Like if you were gonna go for a big looking for a big payday. Uh he has the he has the ability to win the MVP because he has that playmaking. I mean, he's not no one's gonna pick the Darren Woodson type of MVP that's out of, you know. You're like, oh my god, like that guy just stand in the right place twice.
SPEAKER_02:Desmond Howard, the kick returner.
SPEAKER_04:Well, no, he actually had like a hundred yards receiving in that game, too.
SPEAKER_02:He actually bought I just remember the kick return.
SPEAKER_04:Oh, I know, but when you add that to it, it makes it more legitimate than than like the guy. I mean Dexter Jackson.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, what did Dexter Jackson do, right? He did the same thing.
SPEAKER_04:Big six, baby. Yeah, his was better than Woodson's, but it wasn't, it was kind of similar. You have two like kind of guys that are you know right place at the right time. I mean, they weren't gonna give it to Brad Johnson. That award, I mean, just think of this this this matchup right here. Go back 10 years. I there's people that say that award itself got into Russell Wilson's head, or yeah, like who who's gonna win the award? Right. So we're gonna throw this ball in, boom. Instead of taking the easy win. Could have easily handed the ball off to Marshawn Lynch. Yeah, but hey, I might not win an MVP. I think that's just right there how that whole team got broken up right there.
SPEAKER_03:You blame Carroll because he's the head coach. Right. That's his butt.
SPEAKER_04:Oh, there's no way you throw that ball.
SPEAKER_03:I fucking pull Russ out.
SPEAKER_04:Wildcat, Wildcat, dude. I'm gonna Oh, you want to throw it? Sit your ass on the table. Yeah, but just think of the the the plays now, 10 years later. Like, oh god, just run it up, you know, get the tight. There's so many teams that just bring out the tight end now. Yeah, I get to him. Right. They freaking throw it.
SPEAKER_02:You're not gonna give it straight to be third. Yeah, we're gonna throw it.
SPEAKER_04:We're just gonna turn and shotgun run it a slant. No, no, like reads or anything. I'm just gonna snap it and just trust it.
SPEAKER_03:In a play that the Patriots knew was coming as soon as they lined up because they had had it on film for years.
SPEAKER_04:Right. Yep. That's Belichick's finest hour, actually. Right.
SPEAKER_03:That's his cheating coming through, shining through.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, that's his finest hour. He didn't make it.
SPEAKER_02:Belichick's finest hour or Darius Butler's finest hour, because I'm starting to question Bill Belichick, dude. Oh, you should be able to do that. Brady Leaves automatically wins the Super Bowl three years after he leaves the pass. They're in the Super Bowl, dude.
SPEAKER_04:Brady, yeah, Brady's the Hall of Famer, but I don't mind if they were to keep him out at least one tick. I mean, he did cheat. Right. And Belichick cheated. And like you don't you could say, oh, it wasn't this, it wasn't that, but it was proven. Like they didn't even want to prove it, but they had to. They had to. And they had like burn the tapes and everything, and they that's how bad they didn't want it to happen. And Belichick can't win without Brady. Yeah, that's true. I think Belichick.
SPEAKER_02:It's been proven.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, I think him not getting in it. I don't I don't mind it at all.
SPEAKER_02:Honestly, and I think that they can build a they can build a team. Belichick was Belichick was just Robert Crash. He had to go to quarterback, and he's got an incredible organization behind him, and he just rode the wave.
SPEAKER_04:26, about 10 years ago, they wanted Jimmy Garoppolo. Yeah. And he said he was washed up. Now that's stupid. And the and the owner, I think, made probably one of his smartest decisions of his career by telling Bill to suck it. He chose right. I think Kraft is least like I would put Kraft in before Belichick just because of that decision alone. But you know what? Oh, absolutely. Brady's better than that.
SPEAKER_02:And Kraft has won without Brady. Exactly. Kraft has won without Brady. That's the biggest thing, dude. He he had the Patriots with Bledsoe competing. Now he's got the Patriots with May competing. Right, right. Belichick has sucked everywhere. Yeah, he wants to win too. He wants to win.
SPEAKER_04:I don't like him, but he wants to win. I mean, he hired Mayo. He realized that was an idiot decision, and he freaking he took advantage of people that make stupid decisions by the Titans firing that guy. And it's not rocket science. And he realized, like, oh my God, boom. Back in the Super Bowl.
SPEAKER_03:Right, right.
SPEAKER_04:Oh, there's Mike Vrable.
SPEAKER_03:Paid off. I hired Mayo, we suck, but we got Drake May.
SPEAKER_02:So we got Drake May off of that. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03:They would never pick Drake.
SPEAKER_02:There was no nobody, nobody happier. Yeah, that worked out so perfectly.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah. Really worked out perfectly. All right. So we got Hawks. We got the Patriots. I I I'm hoping that the Patriots win this game. I can't believe I'm saying that. I can't either.
SPEAKER_02:I think it's going to be a good game. I mean, I don't I don't see the path.
SPEAKER_04:Over under is. Let's do that. That's 45 and a half.
SPEAKER_02:Damn, that's a good line. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah. I mean, that's I'm going to take the understanding.
SPEAKER_02:I mean, that's like right about where I think it's going to be.
unknown:Yeah.
SPEAKER_04:I'm going to say the under.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, I'll take the under. I'll take the under. I think like 24-21.
SPEAKER_04:23-17. Yeah, both defenses are too good. 23-20. Something like that. That's it. Right there.
SPEAKER_03:I'm going over, man. 27-24. It is shocking. There's going to be at least one defensive touchdown. I feel it.
SPEAKER_04:Who's going to get it?
SPEAKER_03:I don't know. That's a great question. But it's going to happen.
SPEAKER_02:What you got? Offensive lineman scores a touchdown for the PAT. Oh, that isn't. I can see that. Ray Bull gets the following O lineman on the goal line, dude.
SPEAKER_04:That's a good one.
SPEAKER_02:Let's see. That's my parlay, dude. That's my parlay. Half win. Drake may MVP. Offensive lineman scores a touchdown.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, there's anybody that blows like nobody sees a patch blowout here. If there's any blowout here, you can see Seattle running away with that.
SPEAKER_03:Nobody sees anybody blowing out that Seattle defense.
SPEAKER_04:Well, the way they can just get pressure with four. Yeah. And then and then you added Rashid, a guy that can score on special teams, can score on offense and in other ways. I think that's really brought that team to the next level. And they're the best team. Now, if the Pats can get pull some stuff, keep it close, anything can happen. And that's why I say close game, Pats win. Yeah, I think I'd rather have that. I just trust that better than Sam Darnold in a close game. But I think Seattle has the weapons and the defense to win big. Like it could be 42 to 10. Like I wouldn't be shocked. That's what I think. Actually, I think I think it's going to be more of a big, big Seattle win. That's just the that's because there was an extra week and I had nothing else to do. Nothing else to do. But my gut, my first gut was like, oh, I'm taking the pass. You know, I'm taking the four and a half points.
SPEAKER_03:You just spend an entire week flipping.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, I've been flipping and flipping and dipping and putting it back and forth.
SPEAKER_06:But oh you had to go. Oh our rod was here. We gotta uh show.
SPEAKER_04:Well, we gotta get on out of here. Our rod's here.
SPEAKER_05:But before we go. Hoops. Hoops. No. Yeah. I mean there's some trades in the NBA. Yeah, nobody big.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, nothing of relevance, just a bunch of salary dunks, basically.
SPEAKER_04:I mean the teams in Florida are pretty much right there. Doing what they do. Playing games. Playing games. Pistons are pistons are legit.
SPEAKER_02:Thanks getting back by the game.
SPEAKER_04:Uh Pistons. Thunder. That's your top two scenes right now.
SPEAKER_03:Alright. Good for the pistons. Pistons. That is like mind-blowing to me. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04:Well, I mean, just look at the pastors did last year. I mean, they didn't have anybody, they just had a whole they kind of like it was like a Hamilton style. What you do. A bunch of solid contributors, everybody knows the role. But one of the you get a couple injuries, boom, you're out. I do like how both those teams that we're talking about, Pimpers and the Thunder, have both been built through the draft. OKC's gonna win it again. They're just too deep. You're right. They've they've they've done that, but with even higher level talent. Like they have solid contributors, plus these guys are also all-stars. And and then our backups are like second team guys. I mean that that team only gets better. So cool to be like a town like OKC. Small town right now. Got lucked into that NBA franchise. It's not fair.
SPEAKER_03:Just thinking about those guys up there in their 50s in Seattle.
SPEAKER_04:Like, what the hell?
SPEAKER_03:I'd be so mad with the Sean Kemp jerseys. Fuck this sport, man. Deadly Shrimp Fan Club. Yep. Dude, the Valley Brown and booking to the Ravens.
SPEAKER_04:Yep.
SPEAKER_03:Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04:Super Bowl on Sunday. We'll watch it. Got one more football Monday to give you. And we'll talk to you then right here on the North Florida Sports Hillary.
SPEAKER_06:You're about to do your job! You understand that?
SPEAKER_00:You gotta give us a shot! You know what? Who bat
