SPEAKER_02:Well, the Patriots were exposed, so I just don't think they're there yet. They don't have any weapons. And they can see the offensive line. They can't compete. You gotta have your ducks in a row on offense. They can see it all year. The only team that was gonna beat them was the Rams, and they blew it. They didn't have the special teams. And this the special teams was a strength for Seattle with their field goal kicking, their punter is really good, and then they got Shaheed. Yeah. And they had it all three phases, most balanced team. And they're your Super Bowl champions, womp womp.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:Get stuck. Yep. Well, Sam Darnold, the only quarterback in that draft. That's won the title with that's Joe Burrow, Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson. Yeah. A lot of big stars.
SPEAKER_03:So you're telling me the key is just stuck really bad at first.
SPEAKER_02:Well, I mean, it just tells you that the quarterback position is you know what it really is. It's overrated. You can't go, you can't go out there and spend all the money on one position. It's better to find a guy that can give you a deal that that, if he's worth it, and he's smart enough to know that by being in the league a few years, that hopefully can grow and get better. I'd rather invest in that kind of player that's gonna tend to get a guy that's what has three good years, and then he's what you're gonna give him the most money in the league?
SPEAKER_03:That's not a way to win. Basically, you just take whoever Kyle Shanahan doesn't want.
SPEAKER_02:Well, it just I mean, there's There's a lot of just the guys that you know go to bad teams or bad coaches or bad situations. Yeah, like the Jets. Yeah, I mean, and then they just then the Vikings, what the hell? What were they thinking? Like you went 14 and 3 still. Yeah, they could have easily signed him.
SPEAKER_03:Right. And they they chose a guy that's never gonna be good. They're already looking to get rid of McCarthy.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, because quarterbacks, you can actually draft them every year if you need to. With the I mean, yeah, I mean, just take a shot at another one. You know, you when you get it's such a hard position. Look at the Rams.
SPEAKER_03:They drafted two quarterbacks in the first round in the last 65 years, and it was both when they were the number one overall pick. Right. It's like, dude, unless we can pick whoever we want at the top guy, and you saw Matt Stafford, it didn't work in Detroit when he was the number one overall pick.
SPEAKER_02:Because the team's usually like the worst in the league. Yeah. And you're good enough to, and it's just not there's a good chance by being the number one pick that what's gonna do. You know? Yeah, exactly. So, I mean, you get a couple good years, or he'll probably end up getting his head kicked in and and maybe. What do you learn from that and take a team-friendly deal? You know, do you want because I I'm telling you, man, you need to have a defense. You gotta have defense. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You gotta have offense. You gotta have protection. Yeah, and you gotta have weapons. So I mean it takes the whole team. That's what this that's what this Super Bowl looked like. It's like, well, you so the Rams had the best offense and defense combined, I think, but their special team sucked. Awful. Yeah, and there you go. The the the Seahawks probably didn't have as good of an offense as the as the Rams. Their defense probably could hold up with the Rams probably a little bit better. But the special team, the special teams was far and away better. That's the difference. Yeah, that's the difference in the season. There, that's why they're the champs. As far as the game, Walker Yeah, whatever. Dude, the real Super Bowl was the NFC championship yeah. Yeah. The Pats couldn't do anything.
SPEAKER_03:It was pretty boring. Right. And it's a they were a team that has had a beneficial schedule. They played CJ Stroud and Jarrett Stidum in the playoffs. Like, come on. Come on.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, and Sam Darnold didn't do anything special, but he didn't have any turnovers. Right. He didn't throw five dinner. Started seeing ghosts again when he said that. And that's kind of what Drake May sounded like, because they got to him and he was seeing Yeah, he had no chance. He was feeling pressure when it actually wasn't there. I mean, there was Yeah, he had no chance. Yeah, because plays were there actually. When you look at it, it was like, oh, if he would have just settled down and made a throw, they're giving him it's a zone defense. Yeah. But yeah. He was shot up for the game for that shoulder. Sure.
SPEAKER_03:I don't want to hear it.
SPEAKER_02:Who's your if you just had to be going into next year? Who who would you be who what would be your favorite?
SPEAKER_03:The favorite for next year? I don't know what's gonna happen with the rosters. Who's losing what in free agency? I mean, the Broncos should be good again. They keep most of that defense together. Yeah. And, you know, I I think the Patriots will be good, but I don't again, they they played one of the easiest schedules in the last 20 years.
SPEAKER_02:I think it's gonna be betting favorite Seahawks and Rams again.
SPEAKER_03:Yeah, probably. Watch out for a team like Jacksonville, maybe.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah.
SPEAKER_03:It's uh the early tell you what I'm not picking is the Bills.
SPEAKER_02:But those are the only teams that are like plus eight hundred. Or they're below plus they're below a thousand. They're the Seahawks and the Rams.
SPEAKER_03:Right. Well, you know, because you you figure you got most of your good young players coming back, and the quarterbacks are coming back.
SPEAKER_02:But the Patriots have the same odds as the Eagles and the Packers. The Bills are actually and the Ravens have better odds. The Ravens? Yeah. No. The Bills actually have the third best odds. That's just insane to me. Forty-niners are plus seventeen hundred. Yeah, plus twenty five hundred. I would that's a long shot. I it's maybe worth it.
SPEAKER_03:Let's see what they do with their defense. Yeah. Again, they gotta go through the draft and see what free agency and all that shit.
SPEAKER_02:Right. But they've done it, they did a great job of constructing that defense. And uh making the changes last year, he got rid of the quarterback and the offensive coordinator. Yeah. He was like, screw this. Set that guy back to Alabama. I'll get coo I'll get a guy that knows what's up and get him quarterback he's comfortable with. And you guys go do your thing.
SPEAKER_03:I'm focusing on defense, and he's said Ryan Grubb, you know, you just go ahead and go back and lose to Florida State.
SPEAKER_02:You gotta make those tough calls, and uh he did that and they improved. And it's funny to see some of the preseason predictions on them from like Seattle people, but yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_03:They didn't believe in Donald, man. Right.
SPEAKER_02:But I I think another it wasn't a good Super Bowl. I think just like last year it sucked. It the the best games are in the earlier rounds.
SPEAKER_03:Yeah, championship Sunday.
SPEAKER_02:Even even before that. Right. I think wildcards are turning into one of the best rounds because everybody plays except only get one bye. So you get a lot more you get more games, but and then you have the division rounds where there are some good games, but Yeah, it was a shit Super Bowl. Yeah. That's it. That's it. It's over.
SPEAKER_01:It's over.
SPEAKER_02:You got 28 hawk hoozers. Yeah, that's that's crazy. Yeah. I mean every you would have won a lot of money if you took those bets before last season. Yeah, you would have Nobody knows anything. Nobody knows shit. Gambling's completely taken over the the popularity of the the game. Right. Alright, well it's hoops time. It's hoops, baby! The gnolls have actually wins being embarrassed and giving up the most points ever at home. They've actually changed the way they've been playing. They actually try on defense and rebound. Because that I mean, and and that was credit to them for making the adjustments and not being stubborn. Yeah, I mean, when you get beat like that, you got to. Yeah. When you get beat like that, I I mean I know NC State's good this year, but still. You don't give up 113 like that. Right. Without just completely w Olaying that shit. Yeah. So you have to make a commitment to we're not going to let people do that. Right. If we lose, we lose. You can't do that. It's how you lose matters, and that was embarrassing. And they they've battled hard, uh, I believe like four and three in their last seven or something. But two of their losses are really close. Yeah, I mean, you know, it's it some big wins.
SPEAKER_03:You know, they what they lose to Duke by five.
SPEAKER_02:Lost on the road to SMU by three. But yeah, those are some tough ones. They beat Cal, they beat Stanford. Now they've beaten you know, they did beat Miami.
SPEAKER_03:Beat Miami, beat Notre Dame. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:So got a big one tomorrow. And they have Virginia. So this will be the toughest test. Then you get this. If they win this game, they'll be 500. And you know five and six in conference.
SPEAKER_03:Good. They still got three, three, four games against lesser teams in the conference, man.
SPEAKER_02:They need Wiggins to he's got a ball out. He's got a score. He can't go disappearing. He's got to step up. He's got to be you know, scoring. He's gotta be the leading score every time. And if he doesn't, he's got to get up the shots. And if it's the three game, that's fine. But he's gotta step up. This team, you know, we're you're the senior. Uh Letrale Jones has been, he was he looks like he's rebounding a lot.
SPEAKER_03:Yeah, he's he's getting out to the boards, and you know what McCrae is. I mean, he's 50-50 guy, but he's always gonna be doing something.
SPEAKER_02:So they just keep those all those guys, you know, will be out. Those are good guys to get, you know, for your first year when nobody, you know, is gonna come. Right. So they've already, I think, done more than a lot of people expected.
SPEAKER_03:Yeah, I mean you said they wouldn't win any. I didn't think they looked awful. You know, they went on the road and played in some bigger teams, got just absolutely destroyed. And you know, the the loss against NC State was just like, dear God. But they look a lot different. They've definitely even some of their even some of their close losses, they looked good.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, you know, I mean you look at the Florida loss, but you want yeah, you want to see that because you want you got guys committed. And if you get all four of those guys on campus, and then the key will be hit those mid-majors. Find the pieces to fulfill the roster because you have a good foundation. Even if you get a couple of these guys back, because Somerville, he can I can see him as a contributor off the bench on a good team.
SPEAKER_03:If you get guys like Basong and Cam Miles, Bessong's definitely athletic.
SPEAKER_02:Swinton, maybe they can come back and and fulfill like your late numbers, but you're gonna need a couple of dudes in the transfer portal. Go find a guy like Steen or a guy like Letrale Jones. Yeah. And another ball handler, I think. But if you keep all the the young dudes, I'm excited about next year. Excited about, you know, the rest of this year. I'm glad they've turned it around.

No. They're gonna be in the mix. No. You just gotta hope that one season they can break what is, if you look at it, if you look at all the sports that have been, if you've been to the championship, there's no other team that's been as many times in any sport that has no nothing to show for it. Nothing. They they lead the whole damn sport in appearances by a lot. They got nothing. But you can't win if you don't go, I guess. Yeah, you can. Sure.
SPEAKER_03:Sure. It's gonna be a year when nobody, when they're not even that good. You know? It's gonna be one of those times when they're just like, yeah, you know, they finished like fifth in the ACC.
SPEAKER_02:That team that they had a couple years ago and they got that crap call. Yeah. You win that first game, changes, and that was Tennessee that won it. So that you never know, that could have been Florida State.
SPEAKER_03:Yeah, but you know, we we rely on human umpires in baseball because we're we're geniuses. What a bad stretch that was. Yeah, it was awful. That asshole's gone, though. Old Vitello is now the coach of the San Francisco Giants. Get him out of there. Yeah. Yeah. Screw that. Glad it didn't hire the light.
SPEAKER_01:The All-Star game in the NBA is gonna go to the world versus America.
